"Tucked in a plaza off Buford Highway with the likes of Bobo Garden and Chicago Supermercado, Dim Sum Heaven has been a beloved staple for locals for years and is still going strong. If you’re intimidated by the Cantonese-speaking waitstaff, order by pointing to the photos of dim sum taped on the wall in this modest establishment. Shrimp rice noodle rolls, pan-fried turnip cakes studded with lap cheong, and siu mai are popular here. Be sure to walk off your meal by heading to the famous BuHi mural around the corner of the plaza for a selfie. No rolling carts, order dim sum off the menu. Closed Tuesdays." - Candy Hom

Google
We love dim sum. We are on a mission to try all the best dim sum spots in the Atlanta area, and we recently tried Dim Sum Heaven. I saw it has good reviews on Google, so we gave it a shot! We went at 7pm on a Sunday and it was dead. We were the only people in the tiny restaurant! We became concerned, but stayed to try it out! I’m so glad we did!! The dim sum was super yum! You order off of a menu, so there’s no carts that come around. However, the menu is quite expansive! It’s a book, really. And there’s tons of options if you don’t want dim sum. They had every Chinese style food you could think of. They had a plethora of buns (my personal fav) so I was very happy with the selections. As the night went on, the place filled up fast. I now know why it’s got such good reviews! The food is incredibly fresh! It’s all cooked to order so be prepared to wait for a bit. The dishes run $7-10 each. We got 11 things and the total was $78. We were stuff by the time we ate it all, but we couldn’t stop! The flavors were great and it was some of the best dim sum I’ve had in the Atlanta area. Definitely recommend!! Try all the buns like I did! 🤪

Google
Dim Sum Heaven was absolutely delicious. I went with one other person and we ordered just enough food. We stuck to the dim sum menu and enjoyed each dish. The pork buns were perfect. The pan fried dumplings were so delicious that the sauce was not even needed. The wonton soup was the best wonton soup I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. I ordered a Diet Coke and it was a canned Diet Coke which I personally prefer. Highly recommend this place.

Google
Dim sum was traditional and decent. Most selections are around buns which I personally like, but would liked to see more diversity. The service could be improved as we say there for nearly thirty minutes without drinks.

I went to dinner with my Chinese-American friend. My friend said it was Hong Kong-style Chinese food, but I couldn't tell the difference, so my friend ordered it all. To be honest, if I had to go and order by myself, I would be hesitant about what to order. The Americans who came later than us probably also ordered and ate the same thing we did. The taste was great and it was cooked with a variety of colorful ingredients. If I get used to it, I will try other foods.

Google
Jasmine tea, Soup dumpling, glutinous rice w/ chicken and pock, steam pork bun, shrimp dumpling, sui mai, yu choy w/oyster sauce, and sticky rice pork ball. The food was really good, the customer service was polite and professional. The restaurant had that "mom and pop's" feel. We always enjoy supporting the local restaurants. The food there is enjoyed by all!

Google
Their shumai are delicious! I came here for dimsum and yes they do have other options than just pork! Thank goodness, not all people like pork and they gave us that other options, shrimp, beef, veggie, chicken dumplings! Wonton soup broth not so strong tho, I think their food strength is on their dimsum. Their fried rice is a no go, I can cook better fried rice just being honest. Also they provide chili oil sauce yayyy! Only real Authentic Asian restaurants would provide you with chili oil on the table! Waiters were so polite and friendly. They also have stomach cow menu, I know, I know but we Asians eat em lolz. I don't recommend their fried tofu skin veggies dimsum tho it's too greasy. But if I crave for just shumai and dumplings this place is definitely a list!

Google
The food was really good, the salt &pepper shrimp is the best, i really like it so delicious. Best option also for dimsum lovers, they have a lot of choice and the dimsum also good.make sure you are not come in the peak hours, otherwise you have to wait like me because i came on lunch time. The place is not really big, so when during lunch or dinner you will have to wait to be sit. Service was okay. Definitely will come back to try different dish here. Don’t forget the tea, it’s so good.

We had the opportunity to try a variety of food and it was worth it. It all taste traditional and delicious. I recommend shrimp egg foo young, fried banana and all the dumplings you can try!

Yelp
We stopped by here around 9pm, so it was late for dim sum but we were really craving it. Everyone's dishes around us looked delicious so I don't think you could go wrong. The tea was very good, we mix green tea with chrysanthemum. They quickly greeted us and gave us menus. We loved how it showed pictures of the dim sum items since we couldn't remember the names of some. Our food came out fast and was delicious. We loved the shu mai and tofu roll up(can't remember the exact name haha). I don't recommend the white long shrimp noodles dim sum dish. They put 3 tiny shrimp in them instead of medium/large shrimp and the soy sauce wasn't sweet at all. It was very different from other dim sum places we have gone to in the past. Overall, it was authentic and delicious and we are glad we made the stop while driving through Atlanta.

Yelp
Wanted to eat Dim Sum on our long weekend in town and this restaurant caught our eye. Our mid-afternoon visit came during a slow time but it was perfect for us as we had the undivided attention of the servers and cooks. Dim sum when it the restaurant is slow means all orders are basically heated and cooked to order. The hot items were extremely hot and tasted fresh, although I don't think they actually made them when we ordered. The wall on one side is covered with photos of menu items along with the name of each dish written underneath so one could look and point to what looks good and they will make it for you. The service was professional and they were attentive but not overly attentive. A very good experience! The only item that could be improved were the custard dessert dim sum, they were obviously not made in the restaurant, did not taste the freshest, and were on the small side.

Yelp
My go to spot for dim sum. There's plenty of choices for dim sum or an entree of your choosing. The sesame buns are so good! If you have a large group this is a great spot to order a table full and try all of the dim sum your heart desires. They will bring you tea to sip on while you indulge in small bites. Be sure to try as much as you can if you go with a group.

Yelp
Visited this place expected to be elevated to heaven as an avid dim sum fan, but I am sad to say that it was slightly disappointing. The dim sum items were very small compared to other dim sum restaurants in Atlanta, which made the price not the most ideal. The taste was not particularly special either. Service was okay, nothing upsetting in particular. There were other guests when we dined in, and the atmosphere was fine. Would recommend other places for dim sum, but feel free to pay a visit if you are looking for other types of Chinese dishes.

Peter G.

Yelp
Happy to see more than Dim Sum on the menu. Food was flavorful, served hot and fairly speedy.

Brian D.

Yelp
Had the shrimp rice noodle dim sum and the beef stew wonton noodle soup. Generous portions. The soup was excellent. Great fragrance and flavor. Lots of beef and tendon. Wontons were good and the noodles had a perfect chewiness

Melanie H.

Yelp
This place is in the same parking lot as one of our favorite Chinese restaurants, and we've been wanting to give them a try. We were in the mood for dim sum, so we decided to stop by. Unfortunately, we were a bit let down. The menu doesn't have the best layout. A lot of the dim sum descriptions are on the wall in the first section of the restaurant. Since we were seated on the other side, we couldn't see everything that was offered, so we only ordered a couple items and decided to get some entrees instead. Most of what we ordered was just ok. We had to add salt and chili sauce to give them more flavor. With that being said, the roasted duck was actually amazing. The skin was crispy just how we like it. If you go here and like duck I would definitely recommend trying it.

Yelp
Staff was very polite, kid friendly & food was great, they offered a nice variety of different dishes to order & they do dim sum all day

Eric B.

Yelp
Great food and lovely people. They serve dim sum but not via carts. You order exactly what you want and they cook it for you. The staff are great and will answer any questions. Tons of free parking. If you're a Buford Hwy regular like me, add this one to your list.

Zac D.

Yelp
This is a favorite spot of mine whenever I am out on Buford highway. The complimentary tea is always a nice touch. The service is fast and the food is always delicious. The hot and sour soup is some of my favorite in the city. And don't knock the noodle with peanut butter til you try it. It's surprisingly amazing. I try to take all my friends here. Check it out some time

Rishmithaa S.

Yelp
Best dim sum I've eaten here so far. Plenty of vegetarian options for my partner. The wait is quite long, especially on weekends but it was worth it.

Devin S.

Yelp
Let's start this off by saying this is a very homing restaurant. They invite you in with open arms. It was my very first time going, but the young lady I was with has been there a couple times. It seemed like they were family members with the opening arms welcoming. When it comes to food I got the fried sticky rice, spring rolls, soup dumplings and fried pork dumplings. My favorite item was the pork dumplings they were very flavorful. Salty pork with cloves and the drippings sauce gave it the much needed sweetness it needed. My least favorite item was the fried sticky rice. It was very oily and didn't have much flavor. Could have been more better. Overall I would try it again with hoping it would be prepared better with much more taste. The soup dumplings were pretty good with taste but didn't have a lot of soup in them and they were very small. If you plan on going here I will say depending on how many people you go with be prepared to order a good amount of food if you want to try different items because the sharing portions are very small. This is a good restaurant. I do recommend you to try it if you have never had dim sum before because they restaurant is a great steppingstone

Yelp
I was debating between giving this place a 3 or 4 because my experience kind of felt like in between. The food was pretty good! One of the better dim sum places I've ever had. I particularly liked the radish cake because it was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. It felt like the restaurant used pretty good quality ingredients for their dishes. However, the service here was pretty horrible. I only went with one other friend but we ended up staying there for over two hours because it took the staff so long to take our orders, bring us water, bring us our check, etc. We kept hunting down a waiter so that we could ask for our order. This experience may have been a fluke though and I'd definitely be willing to try this place again.

Yelp
I love this place. The people are so nice and the food is so good. Order the chicken wonton soup!!

Dana O.

Yelp
We had a good experience here for dim sum! They don't do the carts, it's a la carte so you order the dishes and they come out hot which was a great appeal to this place. The service was wonderful and the food came out fast and hot. Overall, we enjoyed the dumplings and dimsum we tried. I noticed the fried ones like the fried taro were less seasoned than what I'm used to but paired with the sauces and chili oil they offered. The sticky rice was also on the plain side compared to other places and a smaller portion. I enjoyed the BBQ pork buns here a lot. The bread was a little sweet which was really tasty as most of the time, the breading is plain at other places. The dumplings tasted great and our water/tea remained full through the meal which is rare for dimsum places. Would go back! Spent about 25 per person on a wide variety.

Yelp
Saw this place when dining at another esthablishment on the same block a while ago, and decided to come back to try it. Soup dumplings: They are well priced but not that great, they got stuck together. Shark fin dumplings: Looked more like siew mai. I wanted to try something different, Cheong fun: it's not that smooth. Pork rib: probably the best thing we ordered Chicken feet: lacked flavor. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day, but I won't be returning soon.

Yelp
We came here for lunch on Saturday. There are two dining areas: the one where everyone enters through was packed, and there was an available table for two that was the only one without any customers sitting at it, and the lower dining area where there weren't that many customers, and it had four open tables. The server pointed to the table for 2, I looked at it, looked at how crowded people were so close to the open table, looked at the server and asked her, "Can we sit down there?" and indicated the open tables in the other dining area. She told me, "No, those are for four people." I shook my head and said, "No thanks!" We left and went to a nearby restaurant on Buford Highway that allowed more spacing between customers.

Yelp
This restaurant has very good Cantonese food besides dim sum. We came at 11:00am for dim sum, just as they opened, and there was already a small group waiting at the door on a Saturday morning. By 11:30 am, the place was almost full. The dim sum was standard fare but I really appreciated that the dishes came out of the kitchen still hot. Bigger restaurants that serve dim sum on carts cannot keep their dishes hot. Although the variety of dim sum is not as extensive as a big restaurant, the quality is very good. Dim sum seems to be offered all day here, whereas, big restaurants stop service around 3pm. Good for people who just crave dim sum but can't wait for the weekend to come.

Lin Z.

Yelp
Food is good, but service needs to improve. Carefully read the receipt, they charge you gratuity 20% even if you have only two people, and it says nowhere they charge gratuity. My friend went there too at other time, she didn't get charged. I guess the owner has her likes and dislikes, by the way, the server is the owner.

Meina M.

Yelp
Came in on a Friday craving dim sum. Small spot nothing too big pictures on the wall of food items. We were given hot team upon arrival. Condiments on the table needed a good wiping our vinegar had gnats in it. Ordered the chicken feet/soup dumping/ chicken shaomai and shrimp noodles and beef ball the total was like $70. Which was shocking. Soup dumplings had no soup kinda dry chicken feet was good and our shrimp noodle was cold. It was ok we wouldn't be back.

Trevor H.

Yelp
Food was outstanding and service was prompt. Wish there were more places like this south of Atlanta. Ambiance was ok, but we came for the food. Rice was great, best General Tso's I've ever tried and the dumplings were really, really good.

Albert L.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for some tasty, authentic Chinese food, Dim Sum Heaven is definitely worth checking out. While the service can be a little disorganized at times, the quality of the food is undeniable. The flavors are authentic and the dishes are always fresh and delicious. There are no carts. The tables are sticky. The food is genuine, as is the service. This restaurant is practically a religion for many people (not me, personally). But it's very much "worth it", especially if you haven't tried it before. It's worth noting that Dim Sum Heaven can be a little questionably clean at times, so if that's a major concern for you, it might not be the best choice. But if you're willing to look past that, the food is definitely worth it. It's a true taste of authentic Chinese cuisine and I would highly recommend giving it a try. Just keep in mind that the service may not be the main attraction here, but the food more than makes up for it.

Sid B.

Yelp
Went today (a Sunday) Food was perfect. Had many (too many :)) dim sum. Best was soup dumplings and shrimp shumai. But all 4 of us had some items that we couldn't get elsewhere Also had perfect clams in black bean sauce Previously went on weekdays. Heavier turnover on weekends. Many a bit slower, but completely fresh. Good service.

Fisher R.

Yelp
Dim Sum Heaven is honestly a very good Cantonese restaurant. The service was a bit slow, BUT they were extremely welcoming! I am not Cantonese, or even Asian at all, and I was fully welcomed too! Also, there was a bit of a language barrier as I speak French and English (both natively), but I do not speak Cantonese, or Mandarin. So when I was trying to order the soup dumplings (xiaolongbao), I mispronounced them, and then tried to resort to "Soup Dumplings" and it took her a little bit, but I pointed at the picture (there are pictures and numbers of every menu item on the wall, which is very good, and I do really love the idea and implementation of) and she understood. Now, this was the first time I had ever had them. They pleaseantly suprised me. I loved them. I will come again! Also, I cannot speak on the authenticity of the food, but to me it was extremely tasty. The soup dumplings took ~20 minutes, but they came out steaming hot with a very taster sauce. Totally worth it, though it's on the line. If it was 25 minutes it probably wouldn't have been. My friend got a few other items, I forget the names of and they were very nice. The interior is very silly, but I like that. I highly suggest it.

Anne S L.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting. We were on a hunt for a good soup dumpling xiao long bao. The portions were very small so we ordered quite a variety. Pork Shu mai, Shrimp Shu mai, egg drop soup, mongolian beef, BBQ pork fried rice, egg tarts, sesame balls and of the soup dumplings. It took quite a bit of time before they could bring your order. So take that into mind. Of all the items we ordered, the soup dumplings is the least favorite. It was flavorful but you can hardly sip the soup inside. Overall, the food was great except for the to go order I made. Had 1 left over sesame ball so I ordered another batch for to go. But to my dismay when I got home, the sesame balls (TOGO) were old and hard. They are suppose to be chewy and sticky just as the ones we had inside the restaurant. All 3 TOGO sesame balls I think were old and not fresh. But my left over (the last 1 sesame ball) I brought home from the food we ordered was still chewy and sticky. So I was not pleased with that.

Yelp
Jan 8, 2023. Terrible management. Food I'm order bad. I ordered $54 in turnip root cakes, tofu wrapped minced fish fried, won ton soup, and egg rolls. Bland, undercooked, oil, and just terrible. The turnip root cakes contained miminal Chinese pork (which make the dish, and the normal firmness was undercooked gel - a disgusting and unexpected mouth feel). I had three orders of this horrendous version. I got take out. It was so bad I turned around and went back to ask them to re-do after telling them the food didn't meet the past results. They said instead "We will tell the chef." Bye. I've had this same order twice before sim this place. Their English is not good, but I showed pictures. The first two times the food was adequate and the service slow but okay. Personally, unless they make things right, I will never go back. They are not cheap and there are many better alternatives for dim sum and Chinese food.

Stephanie G.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by this place since my dim sum place of choice is usually either Canton House (I know super blasé) or Oriental Pearl. However, my family and I dined here on Christmas Eve as Asian businesses are often open on holidays. It was a big group of us so we sat in one of the bigger round tables. I never knew the size of the restaurant until we walked in since it looked tiny from the outside. Service was decent considering the climate. However, we did have to ask for water and silverware since some people in our party didn't know how to use chopsticks. I found the food surprisingly delicious imo. We ordered a bunch of dishes but some of the standouts were congee with century egg, fried calamari, siomai and roasted duck. I will definitely come back and perhaps try more of their dim sum.

Edward W.

Yelp
We frequent many restaurants along Buford Hwy in Chamblee. Some better than others. Three of us really enjoy DimSum, decided to give Dim Sum Heaven a try. We tried, tara root, sesame seed balls, sticky rice, pork su mei, radish cake, and egg custard and the roast duck. All dishes were very good and served promptly. All and all we had 10 dishes, bill was about $75. We had a lot of food, took some home and were stuffed when we left. I recommend for Dim Sum.

Daline D.

Yelp
The food was good and the prices are reasonable. I really enjoyed the crispy duck and scallion pancakes

Cordia L.

Yelp
We have ordered 6 dim sum dishes. Food tasted horrible and not fresh and the restaurant is old and not clean.

Benjamin P.

Yelp
My wife and I tried out this dim sum restaurant the other day and were very disappointed. Not only do they not have cart service, but all of the food was very bad and unauthentic. We tried their chicken feet, shrimp and chive dumpling, bbq pork bun, and a lotus leaf with sticky rice. The chicken feet were old and bland, the dumplings were cold and bland, the pork buns were tough and bland, and the rice inside of the lotus leaf was dreadfully over cooked and also, bland. We tried their chili oil on the table which was, unsurprisingly bland, but surprisingly crunchy, The only good thing about this place was the tea. Service was mediocre at best and not very attentive. Restaurant tries to pass along an extra fee when using a credit card, so keep that in mind. Dim sum menu was all on the wall and a bit difficult to read when sitting nearby. I'd recommend against trying them out, and go to another dim sum place nearby instead. As a restaurant that has dim sum in the name, we were very disappointed. It seemed more like a Chinese restaurant that happens to serve dim sum rather than dim sum being the star attraction. We will not be back and would not recommend you try them.

Yelp
The Basics: Dim Sum Heaven is a restaurant located in a shopping plaza on Buford Highway in Atlanta. There isn't much to the aesthetic of the restaurant, but there are plenty of tables inside and we have never had to wait. The menu is vast and there are pictures of menu items pasted on the walls that can be looked at the determine what you would like to order. There are no dim sum carts at this restaurant. Things I like: I love dim sum and I enjoy that there is a variety to choose from here. Everything I have ordered here has been fine, but some of the items don't taste very fresh. I assume the items are not made to order here. However, some of my favorites here are the soup dumplings, sesame balls, and the puffy dumplings with pork. I also enjoy that there is never a wait here and it is an easy and quick meal. Things I didn't like: Some of the dim sum items here do not taste as fresh as dim sum at other Atlanta locations like Canton House and Oriental Pearl. For example, I did not enjoy the chicken dumplings and I have had better pork buns at other Atlanta locations. Overall, this is a good spot for quick dim sum, but I would suggest other dim sum locations in the area for more variety and quality dim sum.

Joshua A.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gym. Amazing food and service. Love this place and location and highly recommend. We had general tso chicken, wanton soup, shrimp and pork shumai and it was delicious. Thank You!

Laura D.

Yelp
Naturally, we went back to try all new things... Dumpling - I ordered this because it intrigued me; it was simply described as "dumpling" with no other information. Well, it's a steamed (or possibly boiled) pork jiao zi style dumpling with some vegetables, such as wood ear mushroom and scallion. It's also one of the beat things on the menu, and possibly the best steamed shui jiao or zheng jiao I've had. Puffy dumpling with pork - it's a ham sui gok (glutinous rice fried dumpling). This was so, so yummy. The texture of the rice was perfect and the pork was flavored beautifully. Steamed sponge cake - this ma lai koe was fantastic, too! It was really fragrant without being perfumey, and seemed to have a hint of banana flavor. Egg noodle soup mixed vegetable - this was another "create your own" dish where you could pick either rice or egg noodles and add various proteins or vegetables. The vegetables were fresh and delicious and the egg noodles and broth were tasty as well, with great noodle texture. Chicken feet - I've never had chicken feet before so I've nothing to compare it to, but the taste was good. Shark fin dumpling - this wasn't folded as "shark-fin-y" as the picture menu displayed, and was really more of a closed top shumai. In any case, it was still pretty decent. Roasted pork bun - this was good, the filling amount and bread texture was great, but it seemed to only have the sweet element of char siu and not the savory. In other words, it needed a little salt. Tapioca crystal ball - this one was filled with either pumpkin or sweet potato, but it seemed they neither added sugar nor salt; this was pretty flavorless even though it looked pretty. Pumpkin cake - this also didn't have a lot of flavor to it other than a lot of grease, unfortunately. Pork bean curd roll - the taste was a little...gamey? And a bit salty as well. Bean curd rolls are supposed to have sort of a slippery texture but this one seemed to be rather like a soggy newspaper. Overall, this feast was four stars, as a couple of items weren't great but the best ones were so phenomenal I couldn't rate it lower

Steven D.

Yelp
There's nothing wrong with Dim Sum Heaven, I just think BoBo Garden a few doors down is slightly better and LanZhou Ramen a few doors the opposite side is my favorite in this shopping center. Most places that have too large of a extensive menu is kind of off putting for me. Analysis paralysis is a real thing. When the menu is too large, I have trouble deciding what I want to eat. At LanZhou Ramen I know I'm going to get noodles. At Bobo Garden or this place, I'll usually have one person order everything and I'll just trust that person's judgement when we do the family style. None of the food is particularly bad but none of it really stood out for me either. I guess this place has some unique Fujianese dishes. I liked the noodles with peanut sauce. Would I come here again? Only if a friend really wants to go and I don't feel like protesting. This place is good for a group setting.

Yelp
Otw to North Carolina decided to stop by in atlanta to stop by some dim sum. We decided to pick dim sum haven since it was recommended by some online website. If you are looking for authentic dim sum, I would not recommended this place at all. Start with shumai - the consistency between shrimp and pork was imbalance all you tasted was shrimp Pork bun- usually it is charsiu red, the filling was brown The beef chow fun has not much flavor, you need to add your own fish sauce Pork ribs with blck bean was too much black beam and they steam too long doesnt look fresh at all The good one i thought was the sesame ball only.

Sound F.

Yelp
Authentic dimsum. We had a wonderful meal as we were homesick for food in Asia. We also love the cart system

Adrienne S.

Yelp
First of all the wait was long. Not to be seated, but to take the order and then for the order to arrive. The hot and sour soup wasn't that flavorful. The soup dumplings were small and not much soup. That was disappointing. The best thing was the steamed Bork bun and the shrimp pork shumai and some sauce they had to go with it was really good. That being said, I would go back at least one more time to try different things. The menu is vast.

Yelp
4 stars! During COVID masks worn and patrons sat apart (not sure if 6ft). Not crowded for a Sunday, but steady stream of dine in and takeout. Tables wiped down between customers. Ordered a variety of dim sum (steamed) and a few entrees via direct website (not third party). Everything was "ok" to "excellent!"! Some of the dumplings had too much dough but the entrees were all spot on. The star was the salt and pepper scallops! It's was a bit pricey for a dish ($19.95) but scallops are pricey at the markets. This dish delivered! Big Sea Scallops...lightly breaded/fried with onions and a few jalapeños. The Dragon & Phoenix fried rice was tasty without the Dragon (sweet with chicken) and Phoenix (white sauce with baby shrimp) sauces. Plenty of sauce served with this dish so you will definitely have leftover to recreate your own with rice and scrambled eggs and onion. The shrimp with hot pepper (D.60) dim sum was also a standout- basically jalapeño stuffed with minced shrimp. I never would have thought this would be the end product. I asked for teabags to-go and was given a to-go cup of hot tea (loose leaves at the bottom) free of charge. My complaint would be the dim sum sauce...both from a quantity and taste perspective. It was a little sweet and lacked the vinegar/sesame taste I've had with other dim sum. If it would have been good I would have wanted 2-3 times as much for the items ordered. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Yelp
Tried Dim Sum Heaven for the first time. The place was packed so I thought they must be good. Only had the dim sum and it was just ok. I give it 3 's. - The Xiao Long Bao only came in 5 and were definitely store bought. - The chicken feet were not that flavorful. Had to stir it around in the sauce. They cut the feet in half. Seems like they were trying to make it look like there were more feet then there actually were. - The rice noodle roll stuffed with shrimp was also bland and the inside was a little mushy. Almost like it wasn't thoroughly cooked. - The shrimp dumplings were pretty standard. - The pork and shrimp bean curd rolls were fried with sauce on the side. Flavor was good and had a little crunch. Never had them like that. They're usually covered in sauce. - The steamed spare ribs were mostly meat pieces and less ribs on the bone. The flavor was good but the color was off. - Have not tried the steamed pork bun. Most people there were ordering from the actual menu so maybe their dishes are better than their dim sum. With a name like Dim Sum Heaven, you would think dim sum was their specialty. ‍

Yelp
While the food tasted really great, I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone eat here. A friend and I went here for lunch. The place looks a little musty and grimy but not too bad. We had some regular dim sum dishes, dumplings, steamed buns, etc., that were average. But when we ordered a regular dish off their larger menu, a spicy eggplant and potato plate, it tasted amazing and was delicious in the moment. That was until a few hours later, when I ended up having terrible stomach cramps. I started feeling horribly dizzy and then needed to use the restroom. I also spent the rest of the following morning on the toilet. My friend that ate with me ended up throwing up in the middle of the night. We looked up the health inspection scores for this place. They have a 81 B, and it seems like they have some serious issues with cleanliness. Don't go unless you're dead set on spending your next couple of hours on the toilet.

Yelp
A great example of a "hole in the wall" -- if you can get past the not so great/dingy ambiance inside, the food is well worth it! Initially had plans to go to bobo garden but it was too busy so walked over here instead. Ordered the black mushroom w vegetables, beef chow fun and salt pepper squid - all had great wok flavor (as good as any other chinese restaurant!). The squid also was not overly breaded which you get at alot of other chinese places. def worth the try!

Yelp
Pork and chive dumplings- Good! They were tasty. Definitely would order again. Not as crispy as I had hoped, but good. Soup dumplings- Definitely on point! Absolutely delicious! I have never had dumplings like this. They are served in NO broth. When you take a bite, you are met with the very tasty broth and this little bite scrumptiousness. They are DELICIOUS!! I could've eaten more. I will next time! Pan fried pork bun- Very good! A soft, warm bun filled with tender, spiced pork. So yummy! Service-Slow. I dined in the restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon. There 3 other customers. I think they prefer take out orders. Even with the slow, inattentive service, I will go back, but I'll order take out!

Yelp
We are always craving dim sum and I would say Dim Sum Heaven satisfied our cravings. They had tons of options but the taste is your average dim sum. It was good! Just not wow. I think it's very rare to find dim sum that tastes like you've never had before. Service was great though! Would come back if we were craving dim sum again!

Yelp
We got a takeout order, which you can schedule ahead on their website (hot tip, DoorDash and other apps that let you order pickup cost the restaurant money). The food was right on time and everything was HOT, so much so that we got to pace out what we ate and nothing was cold. I wasn't sure how getting dim sum as takeout would go, but we were thrilled. There were two tables eating when I was there at 3:45pm and they were spaced out (although the restaurant isn't very big). The staff were all masked except for one of the kitchen ladies, who wasn't out in the dining area. Favorites were the glutinous rice ball, radish cake, pork and shrimp shu mai, and soup dumplings.

Yelp
This is a small little restaurant which has dim sum, but not in the push around carts. You order it, and they bring it straight from the kitchen. Based off of the set up of the restaurant, it has stairs, they are unable to provide that service, which personally I think is an essential part of the experience. It seems like all the nice waiters from Royal China broke off and started their own place or just work there. I recognize a lot of old faces. The food is pretty good. My only gripe would be that the pi dan (century egg) porridge tasted very bad. However, I ordered several small dishes and main courses including the mapo tofu and the Chilean Sea Bass. Overall, it's a nice little spot to go to for dim sum and Chinese food that is busy but not too packed.

Yelp
I don't know much about Chinese dim sum but I had a great experience here. Really small and what seem to me as authentic. Chicken fried rice I could eat all day, soup dumplings remind me of accidentally getting syrup in your sausage when you were a kid, and there seemed to be some other cool stuff on the menu. Doesn't have that top-tier hole in the wall flavor but will make you happy.

Yelp
Fast friendly service but most of the dim sum menu is taped to the wall and not in printed menu! So either take a look at the wall when you first walk in or you'll be missing out on the more interesting options. Also be prepared to pay more than $1 per piece for even the small dimsum

Yelp
Based on the dim sum I bought only: -har gao (crystal shrimp) -siu mai -rolled bean curd -chicken feet -short ribs Pricier and less quality than what I've eaten before at other cities, but decent. Definitely get the rolled bean curd. Chicken feet and ribs were pretty good too. On a side note, I added items to my cart thinking I would order online on their website but ended up going there in person. Thinking it would speed things up, I had a screenshot of just the items and showed it to the serving lady. She looked at it, and barked, "What is this? I don't know, you tell me." Lady, you don't know what your restaurant serves? For a simple takeout process, they were very snappy from the moment we went into the store. Would have a 2-3 star if service was accounted in this review.
