Didn't like the ice-cream taste at all. The Miso PBJ was way too salty. Sum Yum Yuzu was OK but not worth the steep price at all. The best thing about this shop is the presentation and ordering system. As for ice-cream, if you're looking for the smooth milky and not too sweet Japanese ice cream, this isn't it.

Amazing!!! Best icecream ever ! Tastes like it was created by an artist, like legit culinary arts!!! These mango bubbles that pop in your mouth add an extra level of spectacular and you squeeze the lime onto the coconut icecream .. omg fabulous! PS. super cool Tshirt !

Unique flavors of ice creams. We had Barney poo and lime in the coco nuts, both are delicious. Not too sweet and right amount of toppings. The blueberry topping on Sweet potato ice cream is my favorite. Little pricier than most other options.

I had a pleasant experience. I was greeted promptly, the staff member was kind, and my order came out quickly. I got the lime in da coco nut in a cup. It wasn’t too sweet and I thought it was a sufficient amount of coconut and was not overwhelming. The mango boba was perfect but my favorite part was the macadamia brittle that was added to it. It was the perfect amount of crunch. It is a little pricy at $7 but if you’re wanting to try something unique I would recommend the spot. I plan on returning and trying one of their more unique flavors.

Flavors are SO unique !! I tried the matcha flavor and added the miso butter pastry. It was very good! The ice cream is a little expensive, which is why I took a star off. For 1 cone and a topo Chico we paid a little more than $16! It was super tasty, maybe if someone comes from out of town or something we will come back.

The ice-cream was great. The staff suggested making an kids version of ice cream that kept things simple. Chocolate, whip and spinkles. We order that and 2 more. After ordered the staff then suggested adding nuts. In which replied no. And then they asked about allergies for a reason not to have nuts. Quite frankly I think he was stoned. No seating. Have to sit at the taco place. Overall an okay place for grab and go when you don't have someone like the person who took our order

I did like the combination of coconut ice cream and lemon, it was a different kind of flavor for me, first time trying it, this is a new ice cream concept with boba and corn flakes inside, they also have water outside, and the restaurant right next to it, the lady that took my order was friendly, thank you.

This is a one of a kind ice cream! I absolutely loved it’s unique delicious flavor. I will be back again and highly recommend it! The staff was extremely friendly, too.

I'm not the biggest ice cream person, but I was drawn to Dipdipdip because of all the unique flavors! Getting there, I was surprised to see this is more of an outside eating area, but there were a lot of tables around so it wasn't a big deal. The flavors of the ice cream itself are so rich and you can tell it's really good quality. The matcha was really deep, the ube was light but still prominent, etc. I also really like how they put a lot of thought into what toppings and flavors would compliment the ice cream. And the waffle cones are so buttery and crispy. I love that even if you get the cup, they'll give you a waffle cone chip so you don't miss out on that. All of that being said, I see this place as somewhere to try all of the flavors and that's it, rather than this being a staple ice cream spot. Because it's honestly quite expensive. But then again, I don't have that much of a sweet tooth so I'm sure there are people that would disagree.

I was worried that I wouldn't be able to finish my ice cream here but there are actually small stands for you to eat at. Though there is not any seating outside, there is a huge fan, which chases away some of the heat. I got the Barney Poo, which is ube ice cream, with white chocolate crunches and blueberries. It was delicious and I can really taste the ube flavor. It gets really sweet though as I eat it, so I had to take breaks to drink some water, which you can get right next to the counter! The cone is also very good-buttery, and no ice cream leaked through! Ice cream is aesthetically pleasing! It is very filling though so I can't imagine how someone can eat this after dinner (I got this on an empty stomach).

Tried this joint for the first time. The icecream was certainly unique! I enjoyed the flavors, I do wish the ice cream was a tad more coconut forward but that's a small criticism. Overall a great try! I loved the mango pearls.

This place is soooo extra lmao I got the Shroom one and it was like sooooo extra lmao. Like they gave an explanation for the experience lmao but it was still so delicious lol The shroom ice cream caters to all palettes. The fried parsnips on top is savory and it was SOOOOOO PERFECT. To the right I got the churro for $1.50 extra... OOMPH YEAH! lol on the bottom was the hazelnuts... yeah nutted lmao... the ice cream itself... more caramel than chocolate and I loved it. The cone has cacao nibs so it's bitter against the ice cream... the worst part was the Sherry vinegar though. They say to eat a lot of ice cream with that part but even then I didn't enjoy it. The Barney Poo.. everyone's like it doesn't have much flavor blah blah blah... i thought it was perfect lol like it's got a rich Ube potato texture and subtle flavor. A lot of restaurants that do Ube ice cream and it's less potato and more coconut which I don't love but DipDipDip did it well in my opinion! Also the blueberry flavor is soooo subtle but compliments it sooooo well though ima pass on the frozen bluebs in it. THE CRUNCHY BITS INSIDE THO... my tastebuds were charted off course with those little crunchy yummy bits!!! I can't wait to try the other flavors!

Went here after dinner and the whole experience was great! We ordered one ice cream to share and ended up getting the wrong one by accident and they let us keep it and gave us another. Very friendly staff made the whole experience. We got the Miso PB&J and Barney Poo. The Miso PB&J having a stronger sweet and salty flavor and Barney Poo having a more mild sweet flavor. Would definitely go again!

I came on a Friday night at 10pm. There wasn't a line and the service was a short wait. I got the matcha Cha Cha. It was ok in terms of taste. The texture was good but kinda overpriced for the amount I got. I will say the matcha dipped waffle cone was really good though.

Grabbed some ice cream here after having dinner at Dipdipdip Tatsuya. Initially, I was very excited to try some of these flavors, as they're not common at any local ice cream shop. I ordered the Matcha Cha-Cha, which feature matcha ice cream, sweet black soybeans, red bean sauce, and whipped crème fraîche. Unfortunately, my ice cream did not come with the soybeans and the matcha flavor was more subtle than I had hoped for. My friend ordered the Barney Poo and the ice cream was even less flavorful. While the ice cream itself was disappointing, the staff was very friendly. The shop is just a little window so there's nowhere to sit, but it's super cute. According to our server at the restaurant, they will serve the ice cream to you while you're dining but only on certain days.

Lots of fun fresh funky flavors. Miso in ice cream, yuzu ice cream!! Never have heard of these before. I got the barney poo, it was pretty good. You could taste the subtle sweet potato flavor and the added topping added texture! Not going to lie to the other flavors, miso pb&j or the yuzu strawberry were not good at all. Good thing you can sample before you buy. Kind of pricey also :/

I love the flavors + creativity of the ice cream from Dipdipdip especially with their tea flavors dipdipdip icecream serves homemade, artisanal ice cream that's inspired by Japanese flavors. You'll find delicious scoops of matcha, hojicha (roasted green tea, and even yuzu ice cream to choose from. Their speciality cones + cups combine the flavors of their tea ice creams with ingredients such as strawberry, black pepper, and even shiitakes. The combos are funky + unique We were super full from our feast Tumble22 but still wanted a sweet treat. There's always room for dessert right? We ordered: Cup of matcha ice cream Cup of hojicha ice cream Each ice cream was served with a homemade cookie It was my first time trying Hojicha (roasted green tea) ice cream and it was super creamy, nutty, and smoky! The matcha ice cream wasn't too sweet and had the flavor of a fresh brewed cup of matcha. Very green, vibrant and earthy! I definitely want go back and try their special cones and maybe pick up a pint of their cookies n' matcha ice cream especially since it's not available as a cup or cone Something fun: their spoons are color changing and change with temperature

This is interesting. Great visual, the place looked very fun and it's nice to chill out with good-looking ice-cream. However, it was quite sweet for me. We got the lime coconut on a cone and it was just ok. The waffle was very hard, and the frosting was too sweet. The combination was just not that amazing.

This is that place you take people visiting from out of town who want to try unique/uncommon flavors. We got the sum yum yuzu and the mushroom caramel one. I really enjoyed the overall creaminess of the icecream. I thought the mushroom one the flavors didn't quite hit for me but the yuzu one was very light and fruity. It's fun seeing the different flavor profiles they experiment with. However, it seems like outside of these two, a lot of the other flavors aren't really available a lot of the time. Not sure why, maybe demand?

My daughter and I went to get ice creams here today. My coconut lime sorbet was good: the mango popping pearls was a nice touch, the macadamia brittle gave a little contrast crunch experience to the smooth cool ice cream texture. I had a taste of my daughter's caramel chocolate shiitake ice cream and that was the bomb! I love shiitake mushrooms. I could really taste the shiitake flavor. I never would've thought mushroom ice cream would taste good but it was! I would've bought a pint, heck maybe even a gallon, home if they would've sold that. I am going back! I only had a spoon of it to taste, I want a whole cup for myself!

Closed for the season as of 11/4/23. Will reopen in Spring according to staff. Hopefully they update yelp page.

Nice and unique ice cream shop, part of Dipdipdip; they have just a window front in the shopping center, and you pay by ordering online then just picking up; There's no designation for one of the other, and although there's some standing tables at their storefront, we sat in the shade at Tacodeli next door since it was quite hot out. Prices are decent ($7-9 for a bowl); and you can add other toppings if you want. There's not a lot of flavors/selections but we liked what we got and would try something else next time. It's nice to get another kind of ice cream in town that's different from the standard fare like Amy's/Lick/Jenni's

DIP DIP and DIPPED OUT. Drove a good half hour for the hubs and his love for ice cream and found out out they closed around a half hour hour earlier than normal. (I don't care for ice cream, but I felt bummed out for him when they greeted us with, "y'all looking for ice cream?!.. sorry we closed early".

I'm not a very sweet(s) person but any Asian flavor ice cream and dessert interests me. @dipdipdipicecream invited me out to try their latest releases of ice cream for the summer. Shroom of Doom is a Caramel-Chocolate-Shiitake Ice Cream popped in a chocolate waffle cone mixed with hazelnut and topped with sherry sauce and crispy airy fried parsnip. The ice cream is very thick, extra sweet, slightly salty, and had the earthy mellow flavor of shiitake mushroom. The parsnip was crispy at the touch like paper but once it hits your mouth, chewy and lasting. Not too much flavor in them which is fine - the ice cream was so, so sweet and thick anyways Sum Yum Yuzu is a Black Pepper-Yuzu Mascarpone Ice Cream. The tangy fruity sorbet offering at the moment where the waffle cone is a dipped pink lemonade flavor topped with mini meringue kisses for extra crunch, berry preserve and crispy refreshing shisho leaves that are similar to mint. Average sweetness levels which is just right thus I like this one better. The ube churro was strategically cold. Had it been warm, it would've been soft and chewy but this ice cream melts at a much faster rate. Both flavors are very rich and not what I was expecting out of Asian dessert since they're usually lighter. You'll either love or hate these rich wacky flavors. Also, I love cone and they make these desserts extra instagrammable by filling the bottom of the cone with crushed waffles. Or you can skip it all together and eat it out of a cup, which is hindsight less messy for this hot and humid weather. Speaking of Instagram, you'll be asked but warned that if you want both at once for your shot, they're going to melt so if you want to enjoy, order one at a time.

Let me start by saying - THE CONES ARE GLUTEN FREE. They are made out of mochi flour and for someone who can't handle the gluten this is the best news ever. The ice creams were delicious. It was really hard picking one flavor. All of the ice creams have so many layers to the flavors lol. The topping they put on top of the ice cream are well thought out and brought such an interesting ice cream/dessert experience. They were really cautious about nut and other allergies as well. They would change their gloves before touching any of the nut free flavors. When we went, they were out of a lot of the toppings and flavored cones. I understand not having the dipped cones, but they forgot to tell us that one of the ice creams didn't have 50% of the toppings. I just wish we had a heads up so we could choose something where they did have the toppings. This is the only reason I can't give this place 5 stars.

My group each got one different flavor and tried a bit of each person's. This place is really amazing! I liked the ube one the most but it seemed like everyone had a different favorite one! It is a little on the pricier side, but very worth it!

As a big fan of the Tatsu-Ya restaurants such as Tiki Tatsu-Ya and Ramen Tasu-Ya, I was excited to hear they also have their own ice cream spot: dipdipdip Ice Cream. They have a few interesting options to choose from and I ultimately got their: - Sum Yum Yuzu: black pepper-yuzu mascarpone ice cream topped with meringue "kisses", strawberry sauce, shiso leaves, and a pink lemon dipped cone - $7.50 - Matcha Cha-Cha: matcha green tea ice cream topped with sweet black soybeans, red bean sauce, whipped crème fraîche, and a matcha dipped cone - $7.50 Both of these are unique because they utilize various ingredients to give these ice creams more depth of flavor. However, I couldn't help but feel there was more to be desired. As I'd take each bite, I kept hoping for rich, flavorful ice cream, but it never quite got there. It had just enough flavor to be decent enough, but the contrast of the different flavors just didn't work that well to my liking. In the end, I wasn't very enthusiastic with each continuing bite, so I didn't finish these. In conclusion, I respect what they're doing here by offering something different that you won't really find elsewhere and I'm glad I got to try them out. Although I didn't really have a bad experience, I didn't have a good one either especially when these cost $7.50 each. With that said, I give them a 2.5/5 for being "okay".

Delicious ice cream. Love the uniqueness of the flavors and texture! Highly recommend. I got the matcha cha-cha with ube churro on top and hubby got lime in da coco nuts. Will be back to try the rest of the flavors! Service was fast music playing was a vibe!

Ice cream is awesome! Ricky provided amazing service! The only thing missing was an option to buy a sticker or enamel pin of the awesome characters on the wallpaper and window stickers

Really strange ice cream flavors! The custard was lovely on top but the matcha was too tart and it has black beans on top... yuck. The cone piece taste like a saltine cracker? I love the concept of the unique flavors and it's attempt to be a sophisticated ice cream shop but no. FYI there are no seats to sit outside and you also have to order online, so I suggestion ordering before you arrive.

The concept of this little ice cream spot is pretty cool. Think Sanrio meets an ice cream shop. Order off a touch screen and wait for them to make your ice cream. Apparently they used to give out free stickers with your ice cream, but now they charge for them. The ice cream options are creative and the creations look amazing. I thought the ice cream itself had a good cream texture to it, but it was way too sweet for my taste. In addition, my kids who love ice cream didnt even finish there's not due to the size, but the overkill in sweetness. The novel concept, trendy atmosphere, and cool looking treats I'm sure will keep people coming , but for me the ice cream itself was a miss.

If you are looking for a hip place to get your ice cream fix then this is a great spot. To order, touch the giant touch screen and place your order. I actually found this a lot of fun as they showed pictures of what you were ordering as well as included allergy info! They have 6 flavors to choose from and typically have a special topping that changes. The first time I came was on opening day and got the shroom of doom as I was feeling adventurous. Hm, so they don't lie, the flavor is very much like slightly sweetened shiitake mushrooms which was balanced out with the sweet sherry vinegar sauce (avoid if tart/sour isn't your preference) and topped with my favorite crispy fried parsnips and candied hazelnuts. The thing about this flavor was I could only handle a few spoonfuls and then I was pretty much done, also with the cone being so narrow it made it difficult to eat as it got too messy. Oh, but the cone was great as it was super crispy with the mochiko flour, and not super sweet or salty. However, man the price was steep especially with additional toppings! -Cone: $8.50 -Cup: $7.50 -Toppings $3 Second time around was after our subpar shabu shabu experience but was pleasantly surprised to learn they modified their pricing! -Cone: $6.50-$7.50 depending on flavor -Cup: $5.50-$6.50 depending on flavor -Toppings: $1.50 Round 2 I went a bit more conservative and got matcha cha-cha since you can hardly go wrong with matcha and red/black beans. The matcha ice cream was creamy and had a nice matcha flavor, but wished the matcha dipped cone was more flavorful. I liked how they made the cones wider, but was a bit sad how stingy they were with the soy beans and the adzuki puree, they also trick you by filling the bottom of the cone with waffle cone pieces so you get less ice cream...Luckily for me I really like cone, but still a heads up might be helpful. We also got the lychee marshmallow special skewer topping which honestly just tasted like a regular marshmallow, but they were nice and gave a free sticker (ARV $1) with our purchase. If you are in the area and looking to get those insta worthy photos then sure stop on by, but be warned the flavors are indeed a bit funky, the price can add up, and there may be a line to order. Oh, also take those pics fast as this ice cream melts fast! However their spoons are cool as they are color-changing!

Just opened this past weekend. Unique combos. Fun looks, cool ordering- touch stone ordering kiosk, lots of seating after 3 pm when Tacodeli closes. We got Sum Yum Yuzu, Barney Poo and Lime in Da CooCoo Nuts. The ratio of ice cream to topping and cone size is way off. You get more of the fanciness which makes it highly photogenic but if you want ice cream- just go to a legit ice cream shop. This place dies not pack enough ice cream in the cone. The cone is also very thick and not my usual type, I ended up taking a bite and tossing it. I like a crunchy medium cone. My cone ended up to be $10 for a wee bit of actual ice cream. Boo! Price is crazy high for ATX. This is bay area or NY/LA pricing! Maybe they'll work some of their kinks out. I hope so!

Everything was great. I am super satisfied with my ice cream. Not too sweet, the waffle cone was perfect! Service was fast and the server was very kind! Although it was hot outside, there was ice cold water for the wait! I thought it was a cute little ice cream bar! Great atmosphere!

Japanese inspired ice cream gone gonzo! The flavors are very unique... the presentation is interesting and ordering is fun via touchscreen kiosk. I've tried four flavors and they are all interesting and tasty. I don't love how they're all very sweet. As far as an experience goes, I'd give it four stars but as far as ice cream goes, it's only a three for me. Still good!

Very yummy place! I like the unique flavors and the cones were beautiful! Truly a piece of art and I was pleasantly surprised about the sweet potato ice cream they had. My only complaint is that it's hard to eat with the cone as the toppings kept falling off. Otherwise, quite yummy My friend and I enjoyed it and will return again soon.

Returned today for the return of miso PB&J, but ended up with the shroom of doom after a taster. Truly a masterfully executed treat by the artisans at Tatsuya.

First the bad news: If you get annoyed at an ice cream place when ten people ahead of you start sampling every flavor, then prepare to clench yourself when ten people here start taking forever at the hip & cool ordering machine. Of course it's a #firstworldproblem, but if you're sweltering because this Dip3 is actually outside, or you're semi-pressed for time, you'll have cause to go berserk. Now the good news: Everything these Tatsuya guys do turns to gold, and their Asian fusion ice cream place is no exception. Relax & enjoy the show. I don't think the "Barney Poo" ube concoction will be the new ramen, but that "Sum Yum Yuzu" was pretty solid stuff. Okay, I also bore easily these days, so let's end with pro tips: Come with a group and try everything, there are only six flavors. Come after 3pm and use TacoDeli's patio seats. And come when it's cold outside, so you won't have to deal with a clenching line.

I am not sure how I convinced Eric R. to try this after we ate dim sum, but it is not every day that yuzu ice cream is available. We ordered on the machine - I got sum yum yuzu and Eric R. got the Miso PB&J with the added special blueberry violet marshmallow of the day. He did not think his was sweet enough (he likes sweet things like his wife). I loved mine though! The meringue kisses, shiso leaf, strawberries, and pink lemonade cone were just delicious! The cost is so high but it was a fun stop. I do want to try the matcha and coconut flavors in the future so I may be back to splurge when I return to ATX. Eric R. did make me take a picture of the seasonal flavor "House of 1000 Kabochas." There is some internal family jokes about my obsession with Japanese ingredients like yuzu and kabocha, so this was very fitting for him to make fun of me further.

The sum yum yuzu was the absolute best ice cream in Austin, second only to the sourdough ice cream at Hestia. The shroom of doom was the absolute worst ice cream in Austin. The hojicha milkshake was amazing. This is my favorite shake in town.

Dipdipdip gets big kudos for their really unique flavors and toppings! Ordered the Shroom of Doom which is a caramel, chocolate, shiitake mushroom flavor and topped with delightfully crunchy bits like hazelnuts and fried parsnips. I went with no cone, but you are given a small fragment to sample. And unless you're a big marshmallow fan, you would be fine skipping them. There's already so much happening and for $1.50 I don't think it's worth the extra cost. Yes, the ice cream is definitely pricy and more of a novelty treat but it's not like I'm going to be making soy-glazed shiitake mushrooms myself any time soon. I think for the price, I can't say the flavor was super memorable overall though. Parking is super easy with a giant shared parking lot. When we went, we were the only ones ordering so our ice cream didn't take too long. An interesting differentiator is that you order your ice cream off a touch screen. There is a counter to stand by and they share the outdoor tables with Tacodeli next door. I wouldn't say no to returning to Dipdipdip ice cream, but I'm not going out of my way.

Ice cream from a vending machine? Well, sort of....you order at the ATM-like kiosk and then you can watch them make your creation through the large picture window (it slides so they hand you the ice cream). This is fancy ice cream with unique flavors and toppings. I tried the Sum Yum Zuzu which consisted of marscapone ice cream, drops of meringue and fresh strawberries. Since I generally prefer my ice cream in a cup vs. a cone, it's a nice touch that they add a confetti dipped cone wedge into your cup!

Another Tatsu-ya establishment knocking it out of the park. Located adjacent to Dipdipdip Shabu. I dropped by after having a meal next door. Amazing flavors and beautiful presentation! Great date night treat! My personal favorite was Sum Yum Yuzu, perfect balance of creamy and citrusy along with the cone and the strawberries. NOT CHEAP: These desserts are on the pricer side $9-10 each depending on your add ons. +1 to the suggestion to the restaurant to have an option of getting a scoop of ice cream for $3-4. $10 for ice cream is WAY TOO MUCH

Dip Dip Dip Ice Cream just opened this weekend next to Dip Dip Dip Tatsu-ya and I'm not sure if their hours will be every weekend or just this weekend, but I highly recommend trying it. This is fancy ice cream for a fancy restaurant, so the prices reflect that (9.50 for an ice cream cone with a dipped rim). Luckily, the ingredients reflect that too. I got the Sum Yum Yuzu ice cream (yuzu mascarpone ice cream) with meringue kisses, shiso leaves (tastes a lot like mint), strawberries, and a mochiko cone dipped in a strawberry rim with sprinkles. It was sooooo good. You order and pay at an automated kiosk, which gives you a paper print out with your order number. You then watch your ice cream being prepared behind a window next to the kiosk. I can't wait to try the other flavors - some standouts were the ube-blueberry "Barney Poo" ice cream cone, the matcha cone with whipped creme fraiche, the chocolate Shroom of Doom cone, and the miso PB&J cone. They also have several add-ons that you won't see at any other ice cream shop: a teriyaki/soy flavored marshmallow, a soy-glazed pineapple skewer, and a miso kouign-amann (think miso, butter and sugar). They also have color-changing spoons for your ice cream. Yeah, I'm going back.

Ice cream was really good! I love the concept of the place and the aesthetic is so cute. There are a couple of tables outside and heat lamps are turned on when it's cold outside. The ice cream is good, but I would rate other places like Taiyaki NYC better. Such a cute convenient ice cream place that you may not know existed unless someone told you or you go to eat at dipdipdip. You order via machine (looks like an ATM) outside of dipdipdip restaurant. You get a number and your order is called through the window next to the ATM. You can eat outside over at the taco deli tables. For ice cream there are about 6 different options (i'm sure there are many pics of the menu posted). They are all asian inspired and I encourage everyone to take a shot at keeping some of the toppings on! In asian culture, red beans are a very common dessert topping. Anyway, after you pick your flavor you pick the form (cone, cone slice, cup), you can take toppings off (all the flavor options are predetermined) and you can add toppings (like from other options). Everyday there is also special topping add ons for additional cost like the marshmallow stick and the umami churro shown below. All the ice cream options were unique, fun and tasted amazing! Definitely a unique trendy experience. It was a little costly (~$8 a cup) but not unexpected given the restaurant it is attached to and its cost. I would definitely recommend trying this spot if you are looking for a new different ice cream experience!

This is some serious ice cream! It's pretty expensive, but when you see it, you'll know it had to cost a lot. I've been twice now in the past week. The first time, I had the Matcha Cone, which had a really nice bright and natural green color and rich tea flavor. The ice cream itself is heavy, dense, and silky, just the way I like it. It was topped with sweet beans, which personally I really enjoy, but my son was not a fan. The Shroom of Doom was really mushroomy, with crispy bits of fried parsnip. The flavor was unconventional. The Sum Yum Yuzu is really easy to enjoy, nice and bright and creamy. I would recommend this to anyone who isn't looking for an adventure. My final cone was the Miso PB&J. You can *really* taste the miso in this ice cream, so I loved it, but the wife was less of a fan. This one was in a dipped waffle cone. The cone is huge, and really almost too much food. But the texture was great, down to the little crispy bits on the bottom, and the dip was nice and thick.

Excellent & interesting ice cream options. Unlike anywhere around... in Austin for sure. Had the matcha magic milkshake. The combo of ordering online and credit only payment system is really disappointing. I want nothing to do with paying an intermediary app, which is unfortunately pervasive in town anyway. I hope Dipdipdip will return to an order in person & pay in cash convenience as soon as practical.

Dipdipdip's little ice cream shop is creative and fun. You order on a large touch screen where the UI is beautifully designed with colorful graphics and nice photos of the menu items. The small patio near the pickup window is just spacious enough to stand and eat your ice cream. The whole experience is exciting and this concept will do well in Austin. ...However, there are some major obstacles that will probably prevent me from coming back: It's $8 to $9 for a single order of ice cream. That's way too pricey. Please consider offering at least 1 menu item at a lower price point (maybe an "ice cream scoop only" option for $4). The experimental flavors aren't all on point so tread carefully. The yuzu one is REALLY GOOD but the shroom of doom was TOO savory. The ice cream tastes overwhelmingly of balsamic vinegar. I felt like I was eating a bowl of balsamic vinegar with savory onion crisps on top. I understand the desire to be innovative but this combination of flavors was not executed as well as I hoped. TL;DR: Hip and beautiful. Pricey. Avoid the shrooms.

This rating is based on presentation because the ice cream lacks in flavor. The whole combination tastes like cereal from the cone. The yuzu and ube cones are certainly beautiful! But, as my guest said, the flavor is "unremarkable". The ice cream itself on the ube is too tough to easily spoon out. It was like a rock. The flavor combinations don't match well and it became inedible. We ended up throwing half of the cones out. If you want a good ice cream, Lick continues to reign as a great option in town! I don't plan to return for the ice cream at dipdipdip.

I love ice cream and I love everything Tatsu-ya. So you know I showed up on opening day to buy some ice cream! The concept feels very Japanese to me. From the ordering on a computer to the decorations and the flavors, it's so well-thought out and on point. We got lucky and there wasn't a line when we got there and the process was very smooth and efficient. It did get me wondering...can I get a cocktail while I'm waiting on ice cream? On to the ice cream...we got cups because we had a cooler and actually wanted to enjoy them at home. Don't ask. If you go after Taco Deli closes, there is plenty of seating outside. I got the Sum Yum Yuzu and my husband got the Lime in 'Da Coo Coo Nuts. The ice cream for both was so delicious. Mine had a nice fruity flavor with a marscapone tang that really brought it all together. The strawberries and meringues added to the sunny, summer flavor. But the cone. I won't get a cup again because I want all that cone. They ought to offer more than one cone chip if you order a cup because both my husband and I agreed we'd order like 5. And for you gluten-free folk, they are made from mochi flour, so eat away! Now to the only negative: for the price, which considering the topping and exotic nature of the ice cream, I'm not going to complain about that, BUT the scoop of ice cream should be a little bigger. I want more of that delicious ice cream if I'm paying top dollar for it. Given that I went opening night, I'm sure things are still being shaken out. Definitely worth checking out for something different but with really solid flavors!

Came here last night with a group of friends and it's a really cute walk up counter space with bright colors and Japanese cartoon design. You can order it on the kiosk which is nice. We tried the Shroom of Doom and the Sum Yum Yuzu. Shroom of Doom was interesting...very mushroomy, and really not my cup of tea. Sum Yum Yuzu was good, but not mind blowing. It's worth a try to say you experienced it, but I wasn't blown away by the flavors. Some elements are cool but some of them don't mesh together well. It's also a bit pricy for what you get.

Extremely friendly and welcoming environment. Staff was extremely nice and took care of all our questions. Definitely worth a try ice cream is also delicious !

For the price, this place is WORTH IT. The icecream you get is HUGE and tasty. Remember that they will have a huge asian kick to it. If you dont really like Asian sweets, I wouldnt recommend this to you. When you walk up, there will be an atm icecream machine that you can order from. You seem to only have the 6 options that they have, but you can remove and add onto what you order. Thwre is a sign with the special topping of the day to the right of the atm. I found it really cool that there were laminated menus incase there was a long line. Once you order, someone will start making the icecream in the glass booth to the right. It was really cool to see her torch the teriyaki marshmallows. I ordered the peanut butter dipped cone with teriyaki marshmallows. No replacement. My first bite was full of croutons, a little bit of icecream and a lot of the plum jelly. I was actually expecting just jelly, but you get a lot of preserved plums. Personally I didnt like the plum because it was too bitter and chunky, but that's just me. I really liked the croutons, just wish they were bigger. The icecream was amazing! I felt like I was a child again, I havent experienced that kinda flavor in forever. It tasted like toasted peanuts because it had a really nutty and 'burnt' taste. I cant wait to try the other flavors!

Unique Ice Cream options here. I was super excited to finally try out their ice cream but was a bit disappointed with the Matcha Cha-Cha flavor. The whipped creme fraiche was pretty heavy for this combination. I liked the sweet Black Soy Beans that were topped on top but I couldn't finish my matcha ice cream and the cone.
