The Best Ice Cream in London | Where to Eat Ice Cream Gelato and Sorbet | Eater London

"The city’s foremost place for booza-al-haleb, made with milk, salep powder, and mastic gum and pounded — not churned — to a dense, chewy, unrivalled frozen texture before being rolled in pistachio. Formerly known as Damas Rose and still doing the business on Edgware Road." - Emma Hughes

Just amazing. Best middle eastern dessert shop in the UK. Not only taste, but service and friendliness is top 💯. Portions are incredible and prices are so affordable that you can't become anything but a regular. I'd say the only downside is that you'd probably consider on a weight management program after discovering this place 😄 I highly recommend the delicious Mastic Pistachio ice cream and basboosa with cheese 🔥 (even tho syrian guy calls it kenafa but whatever man just take my money) Seriously one of the best. Well done guys.

If you’re looking for an exceptional place to enjoy authentic Arabic baklava, this shop is truly unparalleled. I’ve visited multiple times, and every single experience has been flawless. First and foremost, the quality of the baklava here is extraordinary. Each piece is made with precision and care, offering the perfect balance of sweetness, crunch, and richness. The pistachios are fresh and generously used, while the syrup is perfectly measured to avoid overwhelming the flavors. Every bite is a testament to their craftsmanship and dedication to excellence. The variety is another highlight. Whether you prefer traditional styles or unique twists, there’s something for everyone. They also pay great attention to detail in their presentation, ensuring that their products not only taste amazing but look stunning as well. The staff is another reason this place stands out. They are incredibly polite, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure every customer feels welcome. They patiently explain the different options and go the extra mile to provide a memorable experience. Cleanliness and ambiance are top-notch, too. The shop is impeccably maintained, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to indulge in some sweet treats or buy gifts for loved ones. Overall, I can confidently say this is one of the best Arabic baklava shops I’ve ever visited. From the exceptional quality of their products to their outstanding customer service, every aspect is flawless. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re truly missing out!

The best tiramisu I have had in London that’s also halal. All the other desserts available are also very tasty, fresh and well priced. Definitely worth the visit.

Wandered in not knowing what to expect other than seeing good reviews here. I’ve baklava before but I’m new to middle eastern sweets. I ordered the kunafa and didn’t realize it was eaten warm! The man microwaved it then added some simple syrup (I think) and crushed pistachios and I ate it right then and there, outside the shop on a chilly winter day. It was so good!! Sweet, warm, chewy cheese with a nest like sweet topping. Like if a cream cheese pastry and Japanese mochi made a sweet warm dessert. I will definitely be back for another. Note: I took the second to last one of the tray at around 430pm on a Saturday. I also got 5pc of baklava to go. Total was £6

Popped in on a whim to see what was on offer. We picked up a couple of ma’moul and a tiramisu. The tiramisu wasn’t necessarily anything to write home about, but the ma’moul is the best I’ve ever tasted! Wonderfully crisp, fragrant flavour and generously filled. Waiting for the day when I can go back and pick up a whole platter!

Unfortunately they were out of knafe but what we had was still delicious. Make sure to have them heat it up if it’s not warm.

We passed by this place on the way to lunch, and had to stop in on our way back. The baklava and other treats were simply delectable! Not too sweet with deep flavors from every bite. We enjoyed chatting with Yasser as he described some of the sweets that we wanted to try for the first time. Definitely on our list the next time we return to London.

Yelp
This place is open late which is much appreciated! There are a variety of desserts to choose from and service is quick. It's more of a grab and go place but get some knafe heated up so you can enjoy it right away!

Yelp
Me and my family came here on vacation and we all had the Syrian ice cream and loved it! Would recommend!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious knafeh and yummy sticky mango ice cream. I was recommended this spot by a friend and it was absolutely worth it. There isn't any seating but you can grab a bench outdoors or walk around while you enjoy your desserts. The quality was the best I've had in London. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The owner was very hospitable and a joy to talk to! The gelato out in front is very typical but enjoyable nonetheless. The rice pudding and yogurt were likewise enjoyable. However, I expected them to be a little sweeter :) Definitely go for the friendly atmosphere and the cheap prices! Ice cream was only 2 pounds for a small, which included two scoops. 5 pounds for any combination of their other sweets (rice pudding and whatnot)

Yelp
Went here for the Syrian ice cream. I think it's also called booza or Arabic ice cream! Quick clean courteous delish and def stretchy

Yelp
So I visited London and, in true fashion, scoped out the yelp scene to see where I could take my family for some desert after a few nights in before discovering Diwan Damas. This incredible ice cream spot serves up many flavored with a unique middle eastern twist and is a must-try if you're in the area. We each got different flavors and cone/cup combos and couldn't stop raving about how incredible they were. Perfect texture, interesting feel, and great staff. Definitely stop in if you're in the area and looking for a delicious treat!

Yelp
Looking for an icecream Diwan is where I ended up. They say that they sell handmade Arabic icecream and I absolutely have no idea what the background of the icemaker does to the quality of the icecream but the icecream was actually really nice. Diwan is more an Arabic sweet baklava type of bakery than it is an icecreamshop but I did love it and was very tempted to try the really sweet stuff.

Yelp
This is an Arabic sweet shop. They sell many different kinds of sweets that are delicious and reasonably priced. I had their hand made Arabic ice cream. Very nice. Careful what time you go, at busy time you are pushed and stepped on inside the shop so be careful.

Yelp
Horrible Konafah/knafeh. I don't know about previous reviews but the management seems to have changed as the one I tried was very badly made in a microwave (February 2018).
