Can’t speak too much on the food because we only had drinks and fries but we were genuinely impressed. The speakeasy is almost inconspicuous from the street level so pay attention to the address so you don’t miss it. We came on a Monday and there was shockingly still a decent crowd there. We snagged some seats at the bar and I wish I remembered the Filipino male bartenders’ name but he was such a pleasure to speak to! We had a great time and will be retuning.

This speakeasy’s vibe is unmatched! From the music, to the ambience to the drinks.. everything is amazing! We tried their new crispy rice which was UNREAL. I recommend the oysters & the drink “side piece” both so good!

My first time going to this speak easy. The atmosphere is so great love the vibes inside. The drinks and their names were very cool. Music was great and the host was super nice and welcoming.

This place is a gem in the West Village and in all of New York City. Such a vibe, beautiful interior, great place to hangout and have a few drinks or for a nice dinner date. The burger is 👌 and the staff is lovely, especially Dina. You’ll be lucky to have her serve you! The manager is also great people. Overall a great place. Highly recommend

This place is such a good find. Went on a Saturday night with two friends around 7pm and were able to get seats at the bar. The vibe is buzzing with high energy. The front staff is super friendly and helped us find seats. The drinks were incredible. We opted for the sundress which had the perfect amount of mezcal blended well with muddled basil. Very fun bar!

Heard about this place forever but our first visit was underwhelming. My drink was good, clean, refreshing. Hostess was dense and dismissive, but our server seemed competent. I expected more of a speakeasy vibe. Overall unremarkable.

Very cool speakeasy in the West Village. Absolutely love the vibe, it’s super dark and intimate and the smell is just amazing. It really sets the scene for a cozy night. The drinks were very good, and the names were really creative. Was very impressed with how good the kale ceasar salad was. Great place to get some drinks if you’re in the area!

I love this spot! The atmosphere at Do Not Disturb is something I have started to crave! The staff is so fun and friendly, and the cocktails are delicious, you can't have just one. Jillian makes the best espresso Martini in Manhattan, the foam never lies. Also the crispy rice sushi is something that is a must try!

"Peeling back the onion" Showed up here without a reservation on a Saturday night at 11 pm with 2 friends. No wait and got escorted to a nice table immediately. So many different rooms! Dark and cozy, electric and fun, elegant with a fireplace. High energy vibe with great cocktails that are unusual but still relatable. Gin and Mezcal cocktails are the best. Not sure why so many bad reviews. Really good place for a late night drink!

went for drinks and small bites with some friends on a Friday to ring in the weekend. this place has the perfect dim light booth vibe makes it a great date night spot to do before dinner. we ordered a bunch of apps to share - my only con really are prices are high and the food isn't anything extraordinary: - the crispy rice: we did salmon and tuna. definitely had better at omakase spots but it was good. not worth $7 for 2 pieces though - brussels: perfectly tossed and seasoned and made - wings: preferred these plain vs with the sauces it came with. lots of flavor but not very filling - spring rolls: nothing special and quantity was low, wouldnt order again service was so kind and this place was cute so id definitely recommend and return!!

Every bite I had was delicious but the portions are really abysmal. It's really snack size, so okay for sharing :) burger was delicious but so small. It looked pretty sad like 3 oz of meat lol. Corn is amazing. Must get! I ordered the pillow biter cocktail and it was delicious. My friend's drink was way too heavy on the lime juice with no sweetness. Overall, the vibes here are a bit confused and disjointed in bar/eating area. some staff are trying way too hard to make the place bougier than it is. could be such a chill, cool spot.

Listen if you're ever in New York or live in New York, do yourself a favor and go to Do Not Disturb in the West Village!! The Hostess was Amazing!! The drinks are out of this world!!! But the food OMG!!! The chef, the chef, the chef!! JOSH REISNER (yes, from Junior Chef) DID HIS THING!!! We had Lemon Pepper Mala Wings (not pictured), Smashed Burger (not pictured), Kale and Gems Caesar Salad (was to die for, I'm going to dream about that salad), Sushi on crispy rice (Tuna was my favorite) and the Ora King Salmon (pictured after it was destroyed)!!

DND is a very cute speakeasy in the west village, tucked away on a busy street with several other restaurants. You have to walk down a set of unassuming stairs to enter the bar which makes you feel like you are in the belly of a ship. With extremely gorgeous brown lacquered ceilings that felt like the bar of a steam ship. We stepped in for a few drinks and got the Sundress and the Mile high club both of which were phenomenal. The energy inside the bar is also very lively and the bartenders were all dancing while prepping the drinks. We didn't get any food, but I walked to the bathrooms and got to see the rest of the restaurant which was also equally stunning. Overall a great spot to get drinks in the West Village!

Long overdue review. I came for an earlier dinner on a weeknight with a reservation for two people. It was pretty dead when I was there, but this place has a vibe and I think it would be a great spot to come on the weekends for drinks and good pre-party spot. Front area has the bar and is pretty small, but there is an area in the back with tables and booths. The food was surprisingly good, so definitely not just a drink spot. There's negative reviews about it being expensive, which it is, but honestly I think it's pretty standard for a trendy Manhattan cocktail lounge. I ordered: -Tuna Crispy Treats: comes with two that are good sized. These were pretty good - I would order again. -Smashed Burger: this was surprisingly delicious. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. The burger is quite small, especially for the price. Fries reminded me of McDonald's fries, which I'm not complaining about. I also ordered an alcohol free drink - can't remember which one, but it was good. Overall, it's worth checking out!

I loved this place! I'm not sure I would consider it a "speakeasy" unless there was a secret door I missed to a separate area considering the menu is posted outside. That being said, the atmosphere was very chill, and it is definitely small and intimate. The bartender was so nice. He walked us through the drink selections and what was his favorite. He also pointed us to some items on the menu. We shared the salmon over crispy rice and a smash burger. The salmon was so good! A bit small but still delicious. The burger... I'm still thinking about this burger! It was well seasoned and just tasted amazing. Definitely would recommend. Can't wait to go back!

Was in the area late night with my friend and yelped for places that were open. Randomly selected DND, and boy, was I happy! We had no idea it was a speak easy or that the vibes, decor, drinks, food, and service would be this great, especially since it was late night. We were warmly greeted by the host, who I must say, had style (me gusta)! Though we didn't have reservations, we were quickly seated and greeted by our server. She seemed to know every detail of every item on the menu and made great recommendations. She was attentive, engaging, and quick with our orders. I had the pecan crusted Halibut, which was probably the most tender, well seasoned halibut I've had in a long time. On the first bite I almost melted into my chair. If heaven was halibut, then it was on my plate. Yes, it was just that good! My friend had the muscles and enjoyed them. The cocktails and mocktails were perfection! Give me more! I had nothing less than an exceptional experience at DND and can't wait to return.

It's going to be really hard to top this meal this year. I started the year off so strong with having this be one of my first stops in Jan! I could drag on and on about how good the food was... so I will! We tried almost everything on the menu. Here is my top rankings, in order: 1. Hamachi tostada. Such an incredible bite. Fresh, crispy but also melt in your mouth, this bite made it onto my top 5 dishes of January list on my Instagram. (@sarah.is.somewhere) 2. Burger. This isn't just ANY ole burger. Right now, this is THE burger to beat. The espresso bacon jam- yes I said ESPRESSO BACON JAM- sings in your mouth. Drool. 3. Lemon pepper Mala wings. Sauced to perfection. A top tier wing. 4. Maduros & Confit cherry tomatoes. Perfectly poppable in the mouth. A must order. 5. Mushroom squash risotto. A totally unassuming dish that I could NOT stop eating. 6. Salmon and grapes. WHAT A COMBO. This was an absolute crowd favorite. I've never had these two flavors together but now I don't want salmon any other way. 7. Tuna Crispy treats: also another crowd favorite. It was super flavorful with the sofrito rice. 8. Quinoa & Kale salad: zesty and a delicious much needed fresh break between courses. I love the play in textures with this salad. Tie 9. Brown butter strip steak: cooked perfectly and seasoned well, I was just more blown away by the other dishes. Tie 9. Pan roasted half chicken: same as above, cooked well but other dishes spoke to my soul more. 10. Mussels: these were good, but I'm not the biggest fan of mussels in general. Dessert we had the flan, which was absolutely incredible and we also tried a cake that reminded me of a version of tres leches. Overall an OUTSTANDING dining experience that has set the bar for all future dining experiences for me. Service was top tier. So friendly and attentive. The space itself is beautiful and worth a visit. Very sexy and intimate. Cocktails were also a highlight. 5/5 experience

LOVE this place. Had an early dinner and drinks here Saturday night and everything was great from the minute we walked in. Cocktails are good and strong, I especially loved the Sundress and Yum Yum. We tried a lot of the dishes, my favorite was definitely the mussels with tostones and the tuna with crispy rice. Service was super attentive all night, the music was so good, and the back room is SUCH a cute little vibe.

Underground doesn't mean speakeasy. People get wrapped up in this stuff. It's a cool enough joint though. The doorman didn't look up to snuff on 2 occasions. The place does try to be too trendy for its own good. Nice bar feel, but staff can be hit or miss.

TLDR: Cool vibe, decent food, overpriced. Had an overall good time here on an early Tues eve celebrating a friend's bday. There were some def hits and misses throughout the night. You walk into what looks like a small bar, but there's a dining area on the other side and a pvt room in the back. It's supposed to give a speakeasy vibe. The decor was warm and chic and the music was a playlist from the early 2000s, which i enjoyed. They were having some sort of plumbing issue at the time and the ceiling was leaking not far from our table but not close enough to be a major issue for us. So the menu... from the drinks to the food everything was massively overpriced in my opinion. $18 for Elote and $30 for a small burger and fries??!! But, prices aside, the items we ordered were very tasty (with one exception). We ordered a nacho plate and the Kale salad. Both were very good and large enough to share. A companion ordered the halibut and said it was amazing. The lobster bao came with 2 small buns but flavorful nonetheless. Chicken wings were nothing special but still good. The major hiccup came with the fritto misto. The serving was extremely small. It is listed under small plates, but this was ridiculous. It barely seemed a handful of items, and what was there wasn't very good. The dish was supposed to come with shrimp, squid, and bacalaitos. Everything was over fried. The squid pieces were hard and scrawny. We thought the bacalaitos were missing bcuz we were expecting a fritter. The chef had to come out and show us where they were on the plate bcuz the waitress wasn't sure either. They were totally indistinguishable from the squid in size and taste. Other than that and the prices, we had a good time. If you go, just be prepared to spend.

Checked out this place after dinner at a nearby restaurant for a drink. Looks like cool dive bar (not dive price though). Surprise surprise, they have bigger dining rooms inside. Can't say anything about the food, but the drink and vibe were pretty cool.

One of the more elevated speakeasy experiences I've had in a while. Crowd felt more New York than touristy, the music playlist added to the ambience. Cocktails were strong and the space itself was inviting without feeling stuffy. I wouldn't come here for a full dinner but definitely a pre or post dinner drink.

-overall rating: 3.5 - nice cocktail bar but a few steps does not a speakeasy make - the cocktails are well balanced and well made, definitely the star of the show - dark and laid back atmosphere - date night vibes - the mussels were cooked well and paired with the sauce nicely, the accompanying plantains were very bland alone but redeemed itself after being dipped generously in the sauce

Expensive cocktails but worth it for a sexy night out. I'd recommend for a first date spot.

When your bartenders snap at patrons in an unwelcoming fashion as they enter the venue, you get a one star review. We turned around and walked right out. No thanks.

This is my favorite speakeasy in NYC. From the staff to the music to the drinks. They knock it out of the park. I've been able to get a table and a seat at the bar without a reservation, but this spot quickly fills up. I usually go with one of the Mezcal cocktails but have also had the bartenders come up with something of me! If you're looking for a sexy, chic spot for cocktails or a date - this is it.

Great service. Ok food. But totally unenjoyable. Might as well have been having a romantic dinner at a frat party. People literally screaming and bumping into tables.

I was there recently and it was a delightful experience. The place is very vibrant even though the room is a little dark but that what makes everything more tasteful. I am an old fashioned kind of guy and always measure the bartenders with an old fashioned because if you can't make and old fashioned you should not be behind a bar. I have to say I was very pleased with the technique and the way to deliver the drink. I also tried a couple of their signature cocktails and I have to say they didn't disappoint, I knew they will be good because of the previous drink test I did so that made my expectations to be more higher and they delivered! I tried some of the dishes with the group I went with, the flavors put on the dishes were really well thought and the whole experience were a 10 stars out 5. Definitely will come back again and with more people, unfortunately we didn't get to try everything on the menu but with more people next time we get to try it all.

I came here with a friend for some late night drinks. The entrance/bar area was tightly packed, but once we got to the dining area it was more spacious. It's a pretty place with red velvet chairs, dim lighting, and a diverse range of music to please everyone. The kitchen closed at 11 so we couldn't get any food. We didn't stay long since we were in search of food, but we enjoyed the time we spent there. Would come again.

This hidden gem has been my go-to for the past few weeks. Their music is amazing, they play all the classics. I've chilled at their bar area and have also dined in with friends (party of 10) and I had a great time both occasions. They have fun drinks and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The only qualm is that it can get kind of crowded in the bar area, so be sure to make a reservation. One last thing, if you try the dry ice martini, you absolutely won't regret it! I'll be back! :)

Just had dinner and very displeased with our experience. This review is based on the service. We were four people and arrived for an early dinner- only 2-3 tables were taken. The server did not want to be bothered with us from the beginning. Ordering and receiving drinks took forever. We had to ask multiple times because they'd forget about us and multiple items still never arrived even after asking twice. At one point the server actually cut off my husband as he was placing his dinner order. The way the staff cleared the table was incredibly brash and made us feel unwelcome. The place is really beautiful and I've only been there previously for cocktails, which are good. The food: guacamole was flavorless, tried all the tacos (fish, steak and chicken) and they were good as well, not amazing. The smash burger was excellent and our friends had the halibut and said it was great. Overall, good much overpriced. It's really such a shame that the service was so awful otherwise I'd come here again.

My friends and I stopped in here for dinner and drinks on a Wednesday night. I was a little ahead of my friends, so I ordered the Do Not Disturb drink at the bar while waiting. After our full group was there, we were seated at our table. For food, two of us went with their burger and my other friend ordered steak. We also got the Tuna Crispy Treats to share. Overall we really enjoyed the drinks and fair. The tuna was a tasty starter. The burger was smashed style, so it was cooked well and blended with the cheese and other ingredients. Ambiance is very cool. There was a fun blend of low lighting and lounge vibes with bumping music. We were seated near other tables, but the conversation level isn't loud. Service was ok too. They weren't overly attentive, but at the same time we never felt rushed and everyone was friendly. Since we had time, we didn't mind sitting and chatting. Overall, Do Not Disturb was a fun evening. Recommend if you're in the mood for a lively scene with fun cocktails and good bites. I'll definitely come back to enjoy some drinks at the bar and for dinner again!

Had the most awful experience at DND this evening. Majority of the staff was extremely rude and required us to order food at our table, despite seating us 45 minutes after our reservation and not requiring any other table to order food. When I raised this point to the servers, they basically told us to go f** ourselves, and continued to charge us a nice 20% tip. Needless to say, we will not be returning, and I highly recommend taking your business to Art Bar or Bathtub Gin instead.

We experienced an issue and the server was extremely unprofessional and barely even addressed the issues. The food was decent. Saturday night six of us dined at this restaurant. My boyfriend was stuck between two of the entrées and had a conversation with our server, Dina, and order the mussels as per her recommendation. The rest of us ordered our entrées as well, and we continued conversing and enjoying our drinks. When the food came out, they only brought out four plates. My boyfriend and I did not get our food, and Dina came over and said how is everything? My boyfriend and I looked at her and we were like our food never came out. Did you forget to put in our food? She claimed that there was an issue in the kitchen and then our food was on the way. I ordered the salmon and so did two other people at the table. If she actually put our food in then mine should have come out with the other two salmon dishes. We waited sometime and my dish came out and the rest of the table started eating because their food was getting cold. The final dish never came out until after the five of us were done eating our dishes. Dina came over and told us that my boyfriend could get one drink for free for waiting on his food. All of us were shocked that she was going to charge us for that as it was clearly her mistake. She was completely and unwilling to acknowledge that she made a mistake. The management did not check up on us after she handled our issue. We did not feel a genuine concern for our issue or the resolution. The entire time after we brought up the missing dishes she was very absent. The ambience was great for the restaurant, the food was sublime. it may be a nice place to have drinks, but certainly not a place to eat if your server's name is Dina. With so many restaurants in New York, why would we ever come back.

A perfect venue. I recently hosted my friend's 50th birthday party here and it was such a great event! DND made it so easy for me, with a perfect menu, fabulous servers, delicious drinks and food and a private and exquisitely decorated room for us. I couldn't be happier about it, it went so well! The Person at the door told us it was 25+ after he saw we were both 21.. We knew he was lying so we dm'ed the instagram acc and they informed us it was 21+. still he didnt let us through for no reason, we come from california willing to support this place and they did nothing but neglect us for no reason. plenty better places to go to!

Stumbled upon this establishment the other evening with a coworker of mine and we were completely blown away be how incredibly sophisticated yet swanky this discreet establishment was. We even walked right past it originally. Definitely an amazing place to grab a drink after work and unwind. Also, Sofia the bartender was top-notch and made me two delicious fruit cocktails, that I'm already craving again

The bald bartender was very rude and flirty with the women. He made my experience there very uncomfortable. I asked for drinks and he told me "he will think about it". I won't be coming back here honestly.

Three friends and I made a reservation for a Friday evening. The restaurant is basically two sections - the front part with the bar and tables that is usually darker and more intimate. The back part has more windows/light, beautiful plants and a cozy atmosphere with small tables that have cushioned couches or chairs. We were sat in the back part and were delighted. The atmosphere got darker later on in the evening and the music louder, but nothing unexpected for NYC nightlife. The waitress we had was welcoming, kind, helpful in making recommendations and describing food/drinks from the menu, and didn't rush us or try to up-sell us. She also was not pretentious at all (which is something you may expect from a NYC restaurant of this type). I would highly recommend.

Had an amazing time here with some friends, great atmosphere and our favorite drinks were the Bing Bong and Bodega Bae. Extra points for awesome service from Kayla!

The bouncer was rude and selective with who he let in. They would not let the rest of our party in, even though we were accounted for in the guest count for the table that was already seated, but let another party in that was right behind us. Others in our same party were able to enter without an issue. Sad because I really wanted to support this busy. I will not return.

Immaculate vibes here. Definitely a sexy, sultry spot that would be perfect for a date. I was able to get a seat at the bar without a reservation but it was pretty poppin' so if you plan ahead it's probably a good idea to have a reservation. Interesting cocktail list with somthing for everyone. I enjoyed my mezcal based drink "pero like, mejor" which was pretty strong but smooth. Didn't get to try any of the food but I'd be interested in coming back. Would recommend!

Drinks are fantastic, food is delicious, ambience is superb, entire staff is friendly and personable. Tuna Krispies, Smashburger, Ceviche yum yum yum. Even the Kale salad is tasty and satisfying. Sounds like "Laura" in the comments section might be affiliated with the former owner of The Beatrice Inn who moved to the overpriced restaurant on the corner with the bougie name after honey lost her lease for being nothing more than an entitled overhyped transplant who tries to make patrons of other establishments miserable by calling the cops every 5 minutes for imagined nuisances. Complaining about olives????? Attacking a bartender???? The City is still recovering from being locked up, quarantined and ground zero of total devastation...again. Smoking cigarettes and weed while walking down the street or after cocktails is a classic NYC way of nightlife. Everyone in the Village was chattering about her infamous tantrums and now it seems she is spewing hateration on a Black operated establishment that has been doing extremely well from what I can see whenever we stop by for drinks. Do Not Disturb is a comfortable neighborhood spot reminiscent of Day-O and other West Village staples before COVID canceled camaraderie between neighborhood restaurant owners and staff. Laura should spend more time at Art Bar. More seats for everyone else! Bye Laura!

My friend Ali told me about this place and I am willing to try anything it's in the hart of west village . I guess it was a basement of a house before I went with 2 friends and we order a 2Godiva martini #horrible drinks the attitude of the stuff working there is I am to cool to serve youthen one of the Manager with the brown jacket (men) Be a little bit more polite to your customer if you can't do that go back to do retail and learn to deal with peoples not a place I will recommend

WE ARE WOWED !!!!! phenomenal job here place is absolutely slapping Entirely sincere about this phenomenal spot!!!! And I have not stopped telling everyone at work how incredible it is!! The drinks are out of this world obsessed with the names of them and omgggg the food!! We had literally come from dinner but the food on the menu sounded so good so we had to get something! We ordered the wings and the meat literally melted off the bone and the tuna crispy tacos just WOW!!! Not to mention the JAMS that were A++++ with every song!!! We even asked for the playlist and out waitress was like oh our owner custom makes it for each room .. I was like dayummm Incredible work and execution!!!

draws inspiration from the clandestine bars of the roaring twenties and truly lives up as a speakeasy; the design is very on brand, from the exterior and throughout the entirety of the bar itself. walking down the stairs through a darkened entrance transports you to you to the modern equivalent of a speakeasy. drink names are also a nice subtle homage to modern day new york culture. cocktails have superb presentation and great flavor -- was very impressed with the use of the smoker.

Good music, great drinks and Amazing food! I would strongly recommend making a reservation as this is probably the only way you can get in. 10/10 recommended.

I had a reservation for Thursday night at 9:15 at DND. The bouncer at the front door looks at my friend and says we can't come inside because there was a private party inside and "you know how people are". He kept saying if we were to change we could come back and come back inside. My friend was wearing a cap, green jacket, sweater, pants and shoes. She offered to take the hat off and the bouncer still said "no, you know how people are. It's something that I can't let you inside". He was making no sense and basically was saying because of her outfit (which was slightly more masculine) we could not enter. I have never had this sort of treatment at a bar, let alone in the WV of NYC where there are MANY gay bars. The reservation did not specify a dress code and the only thing the website mentioned was to come in "proper attire". We asked multiple times what the issue was with the outfit and he didn't specify anything. We were welcomed into a very upscale bar right after that actually HAD a dress code and she was still let in. This was the most homophobic thing I have ever experienced on behalf of my friend and I can't believe it happened.

Place was awesome - we live around the corner and it was so much fun seeing a new spot open up! The ambiance is amazing- speakeasy dark vibes. Food was hit or miss but mostly great - the wings and the crispy rice were our favs! Salad was overrated. Drinks were GREAT- so creative and fun. Service was good- attentive wait staff but nothing to write home about. Overall would highly recommend!

Visited this amazing spot 4/28/23 and what a pleasant surprise it was! The ambience, the food, the cocktails and the service were TOP NOTCH! I will definitely be going back and urge anyone in NYC looking for a new place to try to head to DND!!

Racist treatment at the door, they let two white guys walk in with no issues or questions. When I looked to walk in I (a black man)was told they are at capacity and had to wait for people to leave. I waited for 10 mins alone in the cold, watched 8 people leave and was still not allowed to enter. Sad part is that it was a black door man...

The GM was very rude and combative. He rolled his eyes at our party as well as others.. The hostess was extremely sweet and helpful.. As someone who has worked in the industry I found this GM's behavior unprofessional and unnecessary.
