Great hole in the wall spot that serves up Southern comfort food.
We stopped by Doc Taylor's for an easy, breezy brunch, and everyone in our brunch party was pleased with our dining outcomes. For my brunch delights, I went with a chipped beef and gravy dish (unfortunately, I forgot the funny name associated with the dish). The chipped beef and gravy were served over two pieces of Texas toast. Actually, I do not think that I ever had that combination. From my experience, this dish is typically served over 1-2 biscuits. That said, the Texas toast did not hinder the dish. In fact, the Texas toast gave the dish a bit of a French toast vibe. Unfortunatley, I found the gravy to be a bit bland, causing me to dump quite a bit of pepper, salt, and Tabasco sauce on my plate.
Since no brunch is completel without an adult beverage, Doc Taylor's has you covered with brunch cocktails starting at $3.75. This list includes: Blood Marys, mimosas, screwdrivers, Greyhounds, and champagne spritzers.
The service was pretty awesome, and the staff was great. Although Doc Taylor's has parking, it is limited so you might have to park in a metered spot or a parking garage, especially if it's a nice day.
