"Dockside Seafood Restaurant, situated at the edge of Jacksonville Beach Boat Ramp, offers indoor and outdoor dining with scenic water views with seafood-focused fare. A popular choice among diners is the smoked fish dip starter, while main course options are a variety of fried seafood baskets—including shrimp, clam strips, and oysters—complemented by fries, slaw, and hushpuppies." - Megan duBois

No frills fresh seafood! 😋 Finally got to check this highly rated place after a couple failed attempts of long wait lines. This time we went for weekday lunch and didn’t have to wait. Big portions and so budget-friendly. Be prepared for counter service. Will def be back for fresh seafood! Loved the oysters and my husband couldn’t eat all his deviled crabs (3)! Wouldn’t get fish tacos again as they come deconstructed. Pls add nonalcoholic beer to menu.

Enjoyed a great meal here. Got a fried shrimp po-boy, and a combo of fried haddock and calamari. They got both orders slightly wrong in the details (sauce not on side, fried calamari instead of grilled) but we found the food delicious that it didn’t matter. It came to roughly $40 including a glass of wine and a fountain drink. Better than Orlando prices for sure. Big portion size too. There was a lineup out the door the entire time. Definitely recommend.

Google
Fresh fish and shrimp. Blackening seasoning was so good. House made sauces were excellent. Hushpuppies and slaw were good. Wish they had fresh cut fries instead of frozen crinkles, but they were good dipped in the sauce. I didn’t get anything fried but the open kitchen allows you to see that they are hand battering seafood to order. Friendly service. Seating available indoors with water view or outside. Get there early to avoid a line.

Love this place! Nice casual place for friends or family gatherings. It's so good you will likely have to wait in line to order and get seating. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is nice, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back!

Dockside Seafood Restaurant – A Must-Visit for Fresh Seafood Lovers! If you're in Jacksonville Beach and craving fresh seafood with a laid-back, coastal vibe, Dockside Seafood Restaurant is the place to be! Nestled right on the Intracoastal Waterway, this local gem serves up some of the best seafood in town, from perfectly grilled fish to mouthwatering shrimp and oysters. The casual, dockside setting makes it the perfect spot to soak in the waterfront views while enjoying a cold drink and a fantastic meal. One important tip: get there early—especially on weekends! Dockside is a local favorite, and since they don’t take reservations, the line can get long. But trust me, it’s worth the wait. Grab a spot at one of the picnic tables, watch the boats go by, and savor some of the freshest seafood Jacksonville Beach has to offer. Highly recommend!

Google
Food was great! They let us sit outside with our dogs, which was nice. We did have to send people inside to order. We tried parking ourselves, but ended up using the valet. I was glad we got there early because the line to order got very long!

Google
I came here 3yrs ago and remember the food being so delicious. I came on a Saturday this time and to my surpise the line was out the door at 2pm on a Saturday but the wait was only 20-30mins which isn't bad. My grandmother and I enjoyed our meals, staff was great and kept the tables clean. The food was even more AMAZING now. Fried red snapper, calm strips, shrimp, potato wedges. We enjoyed it all and look forward to our next visit.

Google
Had an absolute fantastic time at dockside. We flew in a bit late and found this place. We got there about 30 minutes prior to closing and everyone was very nice and accommodating and didn’t make us feel pressured to hurry. Good was fantastic and ambiance was great. Our girl Holly hooked us up with the best items to get.

Yelp
WOW! Where do I start? When we first walk in it was a great environment. You could smell the delicious food cooking and it didn't let you down. Apparently this is a local treasure that everyone knows about. I was in town to visit my son in the Navy and my Yelp adventure began. Everything was fresh and priced appropriately for the size and quality.

Yelp
I finally had to go check out Dockside after hearing it was included on a list of some of the best seafood in the country. This is not a sit-down restaurant and it does not accept reservations, so everyone waits in line to order with the cashier, who gives you a number and then a server brings your food to the table. I already knew this was the setup, but we waited for ONE HOUR in the rain because it started storming on our way over and there's no covering where you stand in line. I understand going on a Saturday at 7pm is prime time, but the bar is set so high for the food when you wait that long under those conditions. So on to the food! Yes, the seafood is incredibly fresh and they're on display as soon as you enter (depending on what you order, you can even choose the exact fish you'd like). We wanted to try a bit of everything, so we got the gator tail app (4/5), and 2 combos with 2 seafood choices each that included triggerfish (5/5), triple tail (3/5), shrimp (5/5), and scallop (3/5), all blackened, except for the scallops, which were grilled. I think next time I'll try the triggerfish grilled, so I can get more of the sweetness this fish is known for. I didn't enjoy any of the sides (coleslaw, hushpuppies, or fries), but was told I could only swap out the fries, which was disappointing, so I added the cucumber and tomato salad (4/5). We also got a beer and an alcoholic seltzer. I know we ordered a lot of food, but still got sticker shock when we were told the total was $100. I would definitely go back to try Dockside again, but next time I'll go in the afternoon and not during their busiest time of the week, so the wait is hopefully shorter. Also, I would probably try grilled triggerfish and blackened shrimp, maybe as tacos, with no sides.

Yelp
My wife has been trying to get me to Dockside Seafood for a while now and I'm so goad I finally had the opportunity. Previously, I've always found an excuse not to go. First, there is consistently a line just to get in (I found out that's for good reason). Second, while I love seafood, I'm pretentious about it. I grew up in Maryland and I've had the best. I've lived in Florida since 2004 and for the most part, have had letdown after letdown when it comes to seafood. We decided to go around 3PM this past Sunday and there was a line, but it wasn't out the door. The interior features wood paneling, fresh catches displayed, and open area where all the work is being done along with indoor and outdoor seating. The process is that you order, take your number, find a seat and your food is brought to you. It's casual, a bit noisy and bustling but that's the way it should be in this type of place. I also need to say that the work crew, I'm talking about those working fryers and prepping food, just seemed to be having a great time. We orders the nachos with blackened shrimp and the 3 seafood combo with clams, calamari and shrimp. It comes with fries, slaw and your choice of sauces and we happily tried them all. The portion sizes were immense and reasonably priced. The shrimp nachos were awesome. The chips, light, crispy, salty. The crema and lime were the perfect accent and the shrimp was fresh and blackened perfectly. All of the combo choices we picked were the epitome of what fried seafood should be. Everything was light, crunchy, fresh and the tastes of the different seafood still came through. All of the sauces were fantastic and well done. I see what all the fuss is about. Dockside Seafood has my "Maryland approval" and that means something. We'll see you again soon.

Yelp
A late post better late than never lol My friends invited me here for Lunch on a Sunday, always heard about this place but never had the opportunity to come and check it out. It was raining so thankfully we didn't have to wait too long, waited about 20-25mins. You'll have to order at the counter and then they will bring it over when it's ready. I ordered the Grilled grouper, it was soo fresh and loved that it wasn't over seasoned so I could still taste the freshness of the Fish. My friends said their food was also really good. if looking for a Seafood restaurant with really fresh food Ia 'd recommend this place.

Amanda M.

Yelp
Don't be deterred by the long line, it moved fast. You order right when you enter the building and they give you a table marker, when you pick a seat. Then they bring you your food. You can't go wrong, everything was delicious. The pink sauce complements every dish. It's a ketchup Mayo mixture, very good. The raw oysters were lack luster compared to the rest of the items, but once you dress them up with the accoutrements, they are better. But if you are an oyster guru, these were pretty flavorless. It was busy when we arrived but there was plenty of seating and a few tables outside if it's not hot.

Quentin T.

Yelp
I came here with my besties on a Sunday around dinner time & we split 7-8 menu items among the three of us & were stuffed by the time we were finished. There was a line out the door when we rolled up but we had nothing else planned for the evening & were committed to waiting it out in order to get some seafood on our last night in town. Once we got in line it started moving quickly. There is signage outside that informed about the process. Stand in line & be ready to order once you make it inside to the counter. Pay at the counter, get your buzzer, & find a table. Food gets shuffled out to you shortly after. No frills. We ordered 9 items total to share. We got 3 fried crab cakes, 2 orders of spicy tuna poke, gator bites, oysters, blackened cobia, & scallops. Only thing I didn't try was the oysters as I'm not a fan, but my friends said they were "ok". Didn't have anything that wasn't at least good but wasn't super blown away by anything either. My favorite two items were the spicy tuna poke & fried crab cake. Synopsis is decent quality seafood at non wallet busting prices. Is it the best seafood around? Probably not, but it is good, casual, & affordable. Yes & you should go if you want casual seafood in a laid back environment with a bay view.

Courtney K.

Yelp
One of my favorite meals in this city. I've yet to have anything that isn't delicious. There's no frills here - just straight, perfectly cooked seafood.

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Food: 5/5, Value: 5/5, Ambiance: 3/5 Best fried seafood in Jacksonville! We come here every time we are back in Jacksonville for fried seafood! All the seafood is fresh and is fried to perfection with a light crispy batter. Our favorites are the shrimp which are always a large size and the haddock which is always flaky and moist. Their calamari appetizer is also great and comes with a decent amount for $10. Their platters come with a large amount of French fries and hush puppies which are both tasty. The line can sometimes be long depending on the time of day you go, but moves quickly.

Kara M.

Yelp
You can never go wrong with this restaurant. I literally crave this when I leave Jacksonville. I do not live there, my aunt, anytime. I'm in town. I'm coming there, I'm bringing anybody that that's with me to the restaurant as well. The food is so fresh, best seafood ever, I love their sauces, I love their twice, baked potato, I love their blackened scallops, fried shrimp, & their coleslaw is delicious! Everything about their food is delicious. Oh, don't let me forget the hush puppies, amazing !! The staff is usually always nice & the restaurant is clean including the bathrooms. I love being able to see the water when you sit outside, no matter what it's always good vibes! If you have not checked out this restaurant, you are missing out, head over right now !

Cortni J.

Yelp
The food is going to be great and the menu is pretty straight forward! They have complimentary valet parking, just be prepared to wait in line for a good 10-15 minutes beforehand. You order prior to seating yourself, but there are indoor and outdoor options available. It's located at the dock so boats will come in and out. It's a great family atmosphere and you don't have to concern yourself with making excessive noise. After you find seating, they will bring your food to you. Pretty hassle free. The staff is great and will round your table at least once to make sure you have what you need.

Sylvia W.

Yelp
I read about this restaurant being in the top 20 in the nation. I had to try it out. When we arrived we saw a line outside the door and were hesitant about staying. There is a line because you have to order before you can be seated. So please review the menu that's on the outside wall before entering to order. Parking is hectic. We did valet parking. The food was delicious and hot. No complaints. The view of the river was nice. They have the outside netted in so bugs and birds won't bother you. They have an option to sit outside of the netted areas if you want that real outside water experience. I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
At least some of their "fresh catch" is not actually fresh. This place is extremely overrated, although not bad. There is significant hype surrounding this place. People rave about it on the internet. Here on Yelp, there are many five star reviews. We came here once and the wait was estimated at an hour and a half, so we left to try another time. We came back on a weekday and waited half an hour. Not worth it. They call fish "fresh caught" despite not actually being fresh. This became obvious when I saw that salmon is grouped among their nine "fresh catch" options. That is just not possible. The only place salmon is farmed in Florida is Homestead - near Miami - too far to actually be fresh. Salmon is not farmed in Georgia. And there is no wild salmon in Florida - the water is too warm. What does all this mean? It means that when they write that salmon is one of their nine "fresh catch" options they are either exaggerating or flat out not telling the truth. Which calls into question whether their eight other "fresh catch" options - really every fish here other than haddock - is actually fresh. I doubt it. They claim to have nine fresh caught options but only three are on display in their window. And of that three on display, one of them - sheephead - is not available to order. I know this because I recognized the sheephead (I love sheephead), asked if I could order that, and was told it is only for display and not for order. They would probably claim that they don't have their fish on display because everything is prepped for order, but I dont believe that. So of their nine "fresh caught" options, only two are on display and at least one (salmon) is definitely not fresh caught. I have a hard time trusting that any fish not in that window is actually fresh. I ordered a combo with trigger fish and shrimp. Triggerfish (another one of my favorites) was good, even though it did not taste fresh. Shrimp was good too. Both proteins were nicely breaded, seasoned, and fried - a really good cook overall. Hush puppies were a little too dense, but tasty. Fries were fine despite obviously being supermarket freezer-aisle quality. The atmosphere is nice - really great views. If you want to sit outside and want shade, there are not many tables with an umbrella, and the tables that have an umbrella are near a pretty stinky trash can. For that reason, we moved from outside to inside. We enjoyed our seat at a high table - a really great view. Service was very friendly, attentive, and professional. They got our drinks quickly, brought our food timely, and were very pleasant. I would not come back to this restaurant. In the amount of time I would wait in line I can go to Singleton's, where I don't have to wait for a table and which serves much better cooked and quality fish. This place is simply overrated - the hype is not real. They may bread their fish well, provide good service, and have nice views, but they do not serve fresh fish. For a seafood restaurant, that's a deal breaker.

Jessamyn B.

Yelp
You know the food is good when the seasoned crowd is lined up outside the door on Friday. Some of the best steam shrimp I've had in a long time, and you can't beat that with the ambience of sitting dockside and sunny Florida. But don't be a jerk! Follow the rules and order your food before getting a table. ;)

Grace D.

Yelp
Visit Details: large party, we came in from the boat dock. Plenty of space to park the boats. Line was out the front door, but moved quickly. Food came out quickly for how busy they were. Every single person loved their food. There wasnt a single complaint across 10 adults, all of whom frequent seafood locations. Wait staff was courteous and helped clear the table sporadically, as needed. All in, wonderful experience and this will be our go to for boat days. Summary: new favorite! Price: $ Location: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Menu: 5/5 Rating: 5/5 More details on Facebook or Instagram under @FoodieXperiences

Yelp
Happy we finally made it for a visit today! The line is no joke, even at an off-meal time around 3pm. We were happy to see no one in line outside when we arrived and parked ourselves (there is also complimentary valet) close by. The line inside went right up to the door and moved slower than we expected, but we ordered after about 15 minutes. Once we ordered and received a number, we could seat ourselves. The dining areas were pretty full inside and outside on the deck, but a few two top tables were open inside and we chose one since it was extra hot outside. The drink station has an attendant and were had our fountain drinks filled and refilled there during our meal. We wanted to try a number of items and decided to split the shrimp nachos and a 3 combo basket. We ordered the shrimp nachos blackened and the calamari, clam strips and shrimp in the combo all fried. It was enough food to feed 4-6 people! The shrimp nachos were fantastic. Lots of tomatoes and shredded lettuce which combined perfectly with the blackened shrimp, cheeses and chips. For the combo, the fried shrimp were large and delicious and the calamari was great. The clam strips just okay, hardly tasted any clam, really just breading. The pink sauce was a highlight for me as I am not a fan of tartar sauce. The hush puppies were sweet and delicious and the chopped Coleslaw was the best I have had in a long time. I liked the fries in the basket that seemed to be lightly seasoned and also were yummy dipped in the pink sauce. We are looking forward to visiting after summer ends to enjoy the outside seating.

Katie D.

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal! I can't explain how much I love it here! Whenever I visit my parents in Florida we go here at least once. The surrounding area is beautiful on the water with lots of boats and sun. Parking is ok. Sometimes we have to drive a minute or two to find a spot. You stand in line and order and then you pick where you will sit. It's not huge but they definitely have that line going fast. My favorite are the baked scallops that are absolutely delicious! I also usually get the green beans that are always cooked to perfection! I've had the fries and the hush puppies too and both are amazing as well. Never had a problem with service and food comes out pretty quickly too. Absolutely love this place!

Linda B.

Yelp
What happened with this place! It was my favorite and now we threw it all in the garbage! Scallops fishy, calamari all Breading! Only good thing was the crab dip, boo!

Azalfa L.

Yelp
I came here with a group of people for lunch today (a friday) and the line was up until the door. After you placed your order though you got your food really fast! I got the fried basa fish basket and it was super well seasoned!! The hush puppies were also a favorite of mine! Would come here again! Also complimentary valet was a perk as well!

Yelp
My Wife and I had lunch at Dockside Seafood Restaurant at Jax Beach. We've passed this restaurant many times on the Bridge over the ICW on Beach Boulevard on the way to JAX Beach. At Dockside, you order your meal, find a seat, then your meal is delivered to your table. There are tables inside and out. We decided to eat inside since it was close to 95° outside. The restaurant is very nicely decorated with plenty of windows for a view of the boat ramp and marina. My wive enjoyed the blackened triggerfish basket with a side salad, coleslaw, and hush puppies. She said it was delicious. I had the fish combo of fried scallops and fried clams with fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. My fish was great. The seafood batter is seasoned perfectly. The fries were good, coleslaw average and the hush puppies were OK. The employees who took our order, served us drinks and delivered the food were all pleasant and enthusiastic. It was a good value for the quality of food. We will be back

Kevin S.

Yelp
Different kind of place. You stand in line outside waiting to get to the register. Once there you place your order and pay. They give you a location tablet and cups. You go to the drink station and then seat yourself. The tablet gets docked on the table so they know where to deliver the food. Food was great, casual environment.

Anna M.

Yelp
Some may remember this as a former location of Safe Harbour Seafood. The name has changed, but the management and food are pretty much the same. We were in town on a Monday, so the former sister restaurant at Mayport wasn't open, but we were delighted Dockside near the Beaches was open. This isn't a beach/resort type of restaurant, as many of the really good ones are not. You have to drive down an access road past marina storage and on the way to the public boat ramp for Dockside. Still all good! It's relaxing to sit at the inlandish dockside and look at some of the boats, the bridge, and the relaxed atmosphere. We were there when they were actively working on adding what looks to be a front deck, even while the dinner crowd kept coming. We took advantage of the valet parking, but there's plenty of parking across the lot in the public parking. Nothing too fancy, just good fish camp food. For something a little different, maybe try the crabcake melt. And if you saved room, the key lime pie looked pretty good, too.

Tulina S.

Yelp
Beautiful location by the boats.. choice of outdoor as well as indoor seating. Order at the counter and then proceed to any table. Food came out fairly quickly.. trigger fish blackened was just amazing.. the basket came with fries and coleslaw. Grilled shrimp basket was wonderful as well- perfectly seasoned and juicy shrimp-yum. I heard from locals that the scallops are amazing.. till next time..

Heather S.

Yelp
If you can find parking... or have patience to find parking.. food is phenomenal and FRESH. I always opt to do sunset and order ahead and eat down in the grassy area. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the breeze and sunset... instead of waiting in the line that's 100% always there. Order online 30 minutes ahead... no wait when you arrive. I'd give it 7 stars if parking were better but there's no way to improve it with all the boat parking

Matt T.

Yelp
Very good seafood restaurant in Jacksonville Beach. We had a party of 3 and showed up around 7 on a Thursday night. The line was out the door but it moved quickly. You order at a counter and get a number to take to your table. Large selection of seafood so anyone can find something they like. The blackened fish and blackened scallops were my favorite. There's a chalk board listing the fresh fish available on that day. All seafood baskets come with French fries, slaw, and hush puppies. You can substitute the fries for an additional $2. I'd recommend getting the bacon collard greens! Good selection of local craft beer but only in cans. You don't need to wait in line to order a refill for alcohol.

Ray S.

Yelp
Re-visted during this year's vacation. As good as I remembered. Went on Father's day at 2:15 PM. Waited in line for about 30 minutes to order. Well worth the wait. My 11 year old really enjoyed his fish tacos. They provide the ingredients, and you construct however you like. He finished all 4. Whole family stuffed ourselves silly but you pretty much have to at a restaurant like this.

Riley C.

Yelp
Literally obsessed! My family and I went for Father's Day weekend and even with a line to the parking lot everything was extremely expedited and handled flawlessly. I have a bad dairy allergy and am always so worried I won't be able to eat anything but they handled it exceptionally. I got the blackened shrimp basket with French fries and I can honestly say it was the best shrimp I've ever had in my life. My 1 year old daughter got the fried shrimp basket and she devoured it. My husband got the oyster po boy and I feel like in half a second he had eaten the whole thing. The ambience was so chill, every busser, server, etc had a smile on their face and even waved and made silly faces at our daughter. From families, to teenagers to older couples EVERYONE was here! We will be back!!

Laura G.

Yelp
I stopped by for a quick dinner before heading back to the Orlando area. The restaurant was very busy and had a long line to order. I ordered the Mahi Mahi grilled with fries and coleslaw. It was perfect...fresh, wonderfully season and cooked to the right temperature. I sampled a couple of deep fried baskets loaded with scallops, clams, shrimp, hush puppies and fries. Everything was delicious and the service was great. I will definitely return.

David F.

Yelp
It's a rarity that I dish out a five-star review but I could give it 10 stars if that was available. Had shrimp, fish Reubens, chowder it was all amazing. Even though we live more than 60 miles away we will be back!

Mechelle C.

Yelp
I love the fresh seafood here. The parking is easy with complimentary valet. The line is always long, but the food is worth the wait. Fresh catches are market prices and cooked to order. I always enjoy the shrimp nachos or the Basa fish grilled basket. We also ordered the gator tail and the 7 year old loves it! Highly recommend!

Melissa T.

Yelp
Been here a few xs , casual spot with great water views. There is usually a long line out the door but this day we were 4 for lunch & no wait at all. You order at the counter, get a buzzer & find a table indoors or out. Pretty much all the seating has a water view. On this day the fresh catch posted were redfish, cobia, red snapper, mahi mahi & a few other choices. You can get it blackened, grilled or fried. All come with hush puppies & fries. Most of the fishes are @$18. They also have shrimp, scallops, fish tacos, fried calamari & lots of other seafood. We started with the fried calamari. Honestly, I could not tell you it tasted like calamari. You could have told me it was fish, or anything. It wasn't even in rings nor did it have tentacles. However, it was golden brown & crispy whatever it was. My husband ordered the shrimp tacos & enjoyed them. A friend had the blackened scallops basket & said the scallops were " ok" . Another friend had the redfish blackened & said it was excellent. Now on to mine... I order fish when I can rather than any fried food because it is healthier & because if you're going to order fish this should be the place to do it. I ordered the cobia. I like cobia. It's a dense flaky white fish. The fish I was served was extremely thin not like any fillet of cobia I have ever had. It was so thin that it was totally over cooked. It had no taste even though it was blackened & it was swimming in what I suspect was butter. I felt like it was a precooked piece of fish & they just threw it on the grill with butter to warm it up. It was a total disappointment as others around me enjoyed their meals. Lunch for my husband & I was $63. Which was kind of steep considering its counter service & my meal was not very good. Not sure how soon I will return.

Claudia A.

Yelp
"The freshest seafood around". Literally the words of every local I asked for food seafood. No lies were told! The prices are reasonable, the food is amazing, and the staff is sweet as pie. When you walk in the menu is on the wall. You order at the counter and they bring you your meal. The fresh catch options age posted and easy to find.

Mauricio J.

Yelp
Delicious fresh seafood here, make sure to come with time to spend because there is a line to get in, the good thing is that you will al always find a table.

Mike M.

Yelp
For the type of place this it is it is excellent. Casual but clean. Fresh and lots of options. Ambiance of its local surroundings fresh pier life. Everyone was friendly serving us and many servers. Not sure what else you want from a seafood spot I. Florida!

Shari V.

Yelp
Great seafood, perfectly cooked. Very delicious! We sat on the back porch overlooking the inlet

Traci T.

Yelp
Dropped in here at 11:30am. Go during the week or get there early. Fish bites were so yummy. The fried batter is light and airy. The haddock was terrific. Everything grilled was delicious. Wait staff was on point.

Jessica L.

Yelp
$17 for a trigger fish sandwich but it came with fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies. It was enough for 2 people. The trigger fish was so light and delicious and wasn't fishy at all. I would go back there any time!

Aja F.

Yelp
Good seafood. Good taste. This is a must comeback. But be careful when you order the combo of 3 because they don't let you know what's not included. The view is beautiful and worth it. I will most definitely be back to try something else

Andrei P.

Yelp
Already past 2PM and this place is still packed! The Tuna Poke' is amazing! I think it is the best I ever had in Jax and the fresh taste of the Tuna and preparation is excellent-highly recommended! The Crab Savannah soup was really good too-the taste and frothiness was just on point as we never had this kind of seafood soup before. Can't say the same for the other 2 items such as the Combo of 2 Basket and Fish Bite. It was really OK but we barely got some Calamari in there and it looked like there was way more fries than Fish. The ACE Pineapple was really good! Never tried it before and will definitely order for this beverage. Parking was a bit hard, so make sure you arrive earlier. The staff was very welcoming and professional. We will definitely be back to try other great items here at Dockside Seafood soon. Those Oyster items for the appetizer for sure!

Yelp
I have been craving seafood and my co worker told me about this place. I drove an hour to eat here. This food was fresh and not expensive. You get your moneys worth for sure. This is a fast casual, you order at the counter and take a number to any seat. The cashier was nice. The view is amazing as well. Definitely will be coming back!

Yelp
They do an outstanding job serving fresh seafood here. I had the flounder and oyster basket and enjoyed all of it. A very generous serving of food that assures you wont leave hungry. The location on the water has very nice views. The facility was very nice and the service was excellent.

Yelp
Dockside is the place to go! First time in Jacksonville and our friends brought us here when we arrived. Two days later, we were back. Nearly everything we had was amazing and fresh. I ordered the 3 way combo both times which was a substantial sampling of fish, shrimp, and scallops. The scallops and shrimp were the favorite. The fish was great as well and I have yet to see another restaurant with the selection of fish options. You really can't go wrong with any of the fresh seafood. The shrimp nachos were a large serving and fantastic. Oysters were worthwhile as well. The only detractor I want to comment on - I would avoid the crab cake as it was not lump meat and was rather bready. All of the staff were kind and helpful. The covered patio seating allowed for a beautiful view of the river.

Yelp
Short add- good visit with good service. Wanted to share the difference of fish pieces at times with the same ceaser salad. This time two large pieces instead of the more fish stick cut. Same great flavor and texture. Great food all around. Only downside was the super sticky table and seats- not dirty, as someone cleaned it right as we sat, but the tables do need to be refinished, as I saw the glaze across many tables on the porch area (we do live in Florida, so expected).

Yelp
We've been in Jax for 7 years now and Dockside has been our favorite from the start! This is our go-to seafood restaurant whenever we have out of town guests. All of their seafood is locally caught. Tonight's "catch of the day" included Trigger which I was more than happy to get. I got my favorite "two-fer' basket of fried local Mayport shrimp and fried Trigger. A large pile of crinkle cut fries and a couple of hush puppies came with it. Everything was cooked to perfection! The shrimp and fish were done perfectly: fried to be lightly crunchy, hot and juicy inside. The fries are crispy but soft inside. Hush puppies were on the mark. Servings were large, I brought home some trigger and fries for tomorrow. Crystal loves shrimp as much as I do but prefers hers broiled. I like it that way too but Dockside does fried better than anyone in town. She got a nice side salad instead of the fries. There is often a line out the door of customers waiting to come inside. Parking here is always a challenge. WE lucked out with a front row spot. It is next to a public boat launch so parking is always at a premium. During our meal, a server warned everyone that JBPD was towing illegally parked cars. About seven people stood up and left for the parking lot! Seating is at a premium too as this place is always busy. No table reservations can be made.

Yelp
I've been to Dockside several times! It's generally very busy so if you don't like a loud restaurant or crowds this might not be your place however the seafood is delicious and the service is pretty fast! It's a "place your order upfront" kind of set up, then you grab your drink and a table. They deliver your meal to you. The restaurant sits on the water with outside seating and plenty inside! I especially like the fried shrimp and fish basket with fries and coleslaw. The fries are crispy outside and perfect inside. FYI: Make sure you order your sauce when you place your order. I highly recommend Dockside and really would rate the food a 5 stars. It's just so loud when the restaurant is full you can barely carry on a conversation.

Yelp
Hands down the best seafood restaurant in all of Jacksonville beach! This is a place that has a very long line, so show up as early as you can, and be prepared as it's worth the wait! Prices are very reasonable. And the service is exceptional. Nicest staff ever.

Yelp
Ya'll this place was great! The second you walk in you know the food will be so fresh! Honestly, I had a tough time deciding what I wanted to order...one, because I don't live near water anymore ( Memphis) so I don't get as fresh of fish, and two, because they have a ton of options! I ended up going with a fried shrimp po boy, because I got to try several items on the menu. It came with the sandwich, fries, and two hush puppies. Their prices arent bad at all either. I will say, the star of the meal was their sauce. I have no clue what the orange stuff was, but man, was it delicious! I would buy that in a heartbeat if I could get a bottle to bring back home. Here's how ordering works. You walk in, get in line, and tell the cashier what you want. They give you a buzzer and you sit at any table you'd like. Once your food is ready they bring it out to you. It was actually pretty busy when we went about lunchtime on a Monday, but they seemed to have a good system going and food didn't take long at all. Parking was easy as well. They have a big parking lot out front. Since they are by the doc I'm sure it can get pretty busy if its a nice day out to be on the water, but we had no problems when we went. If I liked in Jax I would definitely be back!

Yelp
We arrived at about 5:30pm, made it just before the dinner rush! There was no line yet. Score! Sat outside, but the covered screened in porch wasn't so bad with a breeze coming through. The view was beautiful. If you've never been, they have a ramp coming in (I'm sure to accommodate the long line when it gets busy) and stairs as you exit. Order when you walk in. Specials on boards outside. Menu on the wall of the front of the building. You only get seated after you order. Yes, that's how busy they get! I went with the shrimp basket. You can get it grilled, blackened, or fried. I went with the latter. It was just that kind of mood today. Hehe. Yum! Just as expected, yes, a long line was forming as we were exiting. Enjoy! Oh and tip - they have complimentary valet parking in the front! I don't remember that being there before. They do have parking across the way, but it gets packed. Beware, if you're not a patron of Dockside, towing is enforced. You've been warned. Happy eats, Yelpers!

Yelp
When we walked up to the restaurant, there was a line out the door! And when people walked out, they said it was worth the wait. The reason for the long line is because you have to order your food first, then you can sit down. But the food is good. It mostly fried. Next time we will have to find some broiled items on the menu instead.

Yelp
This place never disappoints and the wait, which moves quickly, is with it. I had the chilled smoked fish dip, peel and eat shrimp with old bay seasoning and a single deviled crab. Food comes out hot, fast and delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic and the service impeccable. My go to place to eat in J-ville.

Yelp
Dockside might be my favorite seafood place in JAX! Their food is always fresh and absolutely delicious. I got the scallops grilled basket with a twice baked potato and hush puppies. My husband got his favorite trigger fish. If you want fresh seafood I highly recommend you check them out. Be prepared they are popular (for good reason) and you may be waiting for a bit. The wait is absolutely worth it though!
