The Best Wine Bars in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"What initially began as an online bottle club and wine consultant has matured into a brick-and-mortar wine bar and retailer in the heart of Phinney Ridge (with another location on Orcas Island). Here the attention is on “fine wines from small places,” which the selection makes apparent with seldom-seen varietals and blends as well as sake imported from small producers in Japan. Doe Bay is also home to the Orcas Project, a program showcasing Pacific Northwest winemakers and local artists." - Brianna Gunter

Holy Mountain Brewing, Ben’s Bread, and Doe Bay Wine Company Are All Coming to Phinney Ridge | Eater Seattle

"Opening a second bottle shop and tasting room in Phinney Ridge in early 2023, the Orcas Island–born shop will set up in the Shared Roof building at 7009 Greenwood Ave as an intimate venue with room for about 20 indoors and out. Owner Cole Sisson says he’ll continue to showcase small, natural producers (including his Orcas Project collaborations and signature releases with winemakers like Portland’s Division Wine Co.), push boundaries with sake and cider, expand rotating flight selections, host visiting importers and winemakers, and arrange group events with neighboring businesses; there are even rumors of a small oyster bar from Renee Erickson because one of the building partners is involved with her Sea Creatures group. Between this development and other buzzy spots nearby, Sisson calls the area possibly the most happening (yet still under the radar) neighborhood in the city." - Adam H. Callaghan

Its an excellent wine shop that sells and serves natural wines. Both the prices and the wines themselves are great. If you’d like to enjoy your pizza with wine, you need to sit at the wine shop’s tables when ordering the pizza—only then can they serve you wine. Right next to this shop Ben’s bakery make wonderful pizza once a week. We had a wonderful evening in this passage where high-quality places come together. Highly recommended to everyone.

Adore this cozy wine bar. The staff is so friendly and the vibe is immaculate. My partner and I stopped in to have a glass while waiting for a table at Lioness and I got to try taste a few different wines they had by the glass — all delicious, it was so hard to choose! They have a really large bottle selection too. An essential stop in Phinney!

I love this little wine bar! Cozy, charming, and effortlessly cool—perfect for a casual glass of wine. Ellie has a knack for recommending the best wine, cheese, and even music. Will be back for sure, especially now that I have a wine glass punchcard :)

Doe Bay wine is a Phinney Ridge gem! The atmosphere is warm, modern, and inviting with bottles lining the walls like art pieces. What sets Doe Bay apart is their incredible selection and knowledgeable staff. I'm no wine expert, but the staff was super helpful, guiding our group towards awesome finds and pairings. Great atmosphere, great snacks, great wine! Highly recommend!

This place is a must visit! They have a great selection of wines to go or to stay and have there! They always have a tasting available as well! The inside seating is bar style however they have plenty of outdoor, but don’t be scared away by the cold weather, they have the best heaters in town and it’s covered (and away from most wind) they have light snacks and chips to purchase! I can’t recommend this place enough and the staff can talk about all the wines and are very friendly!

Great find on this Sunday! Super cool vibe with great music and the bakery next door. Host Ellie delighted us with her mimosas and knowledge of a vast selection of new and interesting wines. We left with a few new bottles and look forward to returning on our next trip to Seattle.

What a great way to have a neighborhood hang. DBWC is a small, but mighty addition to Phinney with its extensive and adventurous collection of wines from all over the world, friendly and very knowledgeable staff (they've got great suggestions when you're not sure where to start), and open-air seating between some other great local shops. When you stop in, don't miss out on the owner Cole's own collaborations under the Orcas Project label. Ask the staff about the amazing wine makers behind this collection and try a few while you're there!

I've only been in to ask about certain types of wine that I like, which they don't have much of... but that's not on them. They always do their best to help me find something I may like. They have a good size selection otherwise. Prices are slightly above average for the area, but they are in an expensive building next to an expensive little food place, so that's to be expected. I'm always up for going in there when they have new wines I like. A good, local place to chill.
