The 15 Best Donuts In Seattle

"Dona Queen is a Sodo classic. This Korean deli opens at 4am sharp and instantly gets filled with early morning folks who are there solely to pick up a breakfast sandwich or a plate of spicy pork bulgogi. But it's the glass case of wall-to-wall donuts that you should prioritize. The donuts here are split into two distinct categories— “regular” and “fancy”. Regular donuts could mean glazed or iced, while the fancier donuts could mean a fritter or something filled.  Make sure you pick up a bear claw with apple filling that tastes precisely like warm pie. It's fancy." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley, gabe guarente

The Best Doughnuts in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"It may not be the flashiest shop in the city, but this bakery tucked into a SoDo mini mall has a reliable array of glazed, filled doughnuts, fritters, and cinnamon twists. They work perfectly as a sweet complement to the spicy bulgogi and other savory items from the deli side of the operation, and hold up well, even later in the afternoon." - Mark Van Streefkerk

Google
I haven't been to Dona Queen in a long time and after coming today, I really regret it. What a great local spot for donuts, Korean plates and croissant breakfast sandwiches. I had a apple fritter and coffee and both were delicious 😋. Please 🙏 make sure to support this local business. If it is picking up dozens of donuts for meetings, parties or even just a couple of donuts for yourself, this us a MUST destination. PS, say hello to Kim who works the front counter. He is such a pleasure to meet and talk with. You can't go wrong at Dona Queens.

Google
Check out this terrific place for some fresh pastries! Besides regular donuts, they have apple turnovers and mochi donuts. Pair that with a nice hot cup of coffee. There's also room if you happen to be with a small group of people. Highly recommended!

Google
SO GOOD!!! I got iced donuts and donut holes and they’re SOOOOO, like the texture, flavor everything good and so well priced. The man working at the cash register (the owner I think??) came to take my order as soon as I walked in and when he realized he I wasn’t ready( it was my first time going) he left me alone and let me take my time, I didn’t feel rushed make me feel rushed at all. And I NEVER write reviews but I had to for this one. Definitely will be coming back 100/10 🤩🍩

Google
These are yeast donuts, which seem hard to find in Seattle where cake donuts seem to be the preference. Donuts are always fresh, kolaches are on point (and I'm from TX), and they always put one or two donut holes in my bag for the road. Their sandwiches are also good. They have tea & boba which are as you'd expect, and they also have a cold case if you want energy drinks, soda, milk, or water. I've gotten a latte and mocha here before, and both times it tasted like the espresso was burnt (that could be a simple fix and they didn't realize the grind was off). Overall, good food, kind service, and atmosphere feels like a small town donut shop.

Google
I love good donuts and these are really delicious here. There is a Krispy Kreme around the corner but I prefer the mom and pop store donuts made by hand and not a machine. Good fresh coffee here too. I recommend.

Mama Row's Caramel

Google
MUST TRY!!! Their tuna sandwich is the best I’ve had in over 10 years!!! My mama made one that this reminds me of!!! My family and I love donuts as well!!! We’re regulars now!!! Thank y’all for making such delicious food 😁

Google
I’m on a slow rolling mission to try every donut place in Seattle. While this place did, in fact, deliver on having donuts, it delivered on little else. Despite many ads on the wall for mochi donuts, nice looking crullers, and unfamiliar flavors, they just had a limited supply of normal flavors available. Execution was comparable to grocery store. Nice hole in wall vibes, feels like it has good Character. but other than that it’s hard to imagine myself recommending this place.

Google
As a native Texan and Seattle transplant, I sorely miss kolaches. Once a staple item of weekend breakfasts, they are hard to come by here. So you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was to stumble into Dona Queen and see their hot and fresh kolaches! No frills, just hot and fresh sausage kolaches (plain and jalapeño options). Also enjoyed the donuts (I got the donut holes and blueberry cake donut), and the service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
THE BEST DONUTS in the state of WA! such lovely staff and was bringing fresh donuts out to replace the ones out of stock! They also have drink options and lunch menu as well! Kolaches were delicious and the donuts were 100/100!

Yelp
This place have been on my list for a while now, so when I saw that I was close by, I had to go and try it. I came during lunch time so most of the donuts were gone but I was able to grab: - crueller: soft and airy, but still has texture 5/5 -old fashion: crispy outside, soft inside 4.5/5 -apple fritter: 4/5 crispy outside, but kinda flat Spicy kolaches 10/5 -- this was soooooo good. Soft bun and soft sausage, juicy, hint of spice, flavorful I also got one of the lunch meal, which was rice and stir fry chicken 3/5 -++pretty average, nothing really special. The food was basically made to order so it was fresh. Price was pretty good as well. The lady that helped me was nice. The place itself was quiet. There was only one other person in there with me. There is a small parking lot as well. Overall, I can see why a lot of people like this place. Definitely would come back when I'm in the srea

Yelp
Yummy, fresh, soft donuts. Got there shortly after their 4am open. Had a small wait but wasn't bad. Got two dozen donuts and they were loved and devoured by co workers. Several asked where they from. I didn't try any of the breakfast sandwiches. They do have some seating and it is a spacious front counter. I would like a little more variety in the random dozen but otherwise it was a good experience.

Gary D.

Yelp
So, I used to come here all the time and buy 6-7 dozen donuts for company meetings. I just now returned and oh, how I much I missed this place. I would rather support local shops than big commercial ones and this place fills all the boxes. I had a apple fritter and coffee and both were excellent. They also sell croissant breakfast sandwiches, Korean plates and the donut variety is great! Please, when you stop by, say hello to Kim. He was working the counter and gave me such great service and was very personal. Yes, I will be back next week.

Yelp
Excellent glazed donut and kolache (hot dog baked in a roll), reasonably priced sandwiches, Korean favorites (bulgogi), smoothies. dine-in option
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite yeast donut spots in the area. Nothing fancy here. Need to try the mochi donuts and other food options one of these days.

Donald L.

Yelp
Good donuts and convenient. Service was good and they're open very early. The donuts are fresh.

Julia T.

Yelp
They've perfected the magic of donuts that aren't dense and greasy. Their donuts are light, airy, crispy on the outside and a bit chewy inside. So much better than Top Pot.
google avatar

Joe F.

Yelp
Average donuts below average breakfast sandwiches ( not made to order and look like gas station food) at expensive $$

Gia M.

Yelp
Terrible service from the women Absolutely terrible and rude Do better please It's 2024

Yelp
Omg the donuts are delicious and so is the melon dew smoothie I had!! Highly recommend this place

Julee B.

Yelp
Blueberry cake donut and the maple bars are delicious. Just be aware the prices listed are not correct. A large coffee is $3.50, not $2.50.

Yelp
Loved the soft fluffy whilst crispy donut bear claw. Warm food is good too. Decently priced. Nice owner.

Yelp
BEST donut shop in greater Seattle area. I found out about this place this year and started to binge here every morning. Great donut selection and the owner always throws in a courtesy couple of donut holes as customer appreciation. The actual donuts themselves are so soft and not too sweet like some of the bigger brands which I love. Hidden gem for sure, surprised there aren't lines out of the door.

Cynthia G.

Yelp
I went in as I was walking by and the title Korean sandwiches caught my interest. Nothing on the menu was enticing me at the moment, however, I will say some things did sound delicious like the kimchi fried rice. I didn't want to leave without buying anything so I ordered a Thai boba tea which was on the menu for $4.75 the man at the counter asked if that's all I was going to get and I said yes, and he seemed a little bothered. This could be speculation as he then charged me $7.11 for the drink! Not what's on the menu. I'm not the confrontational type so I didn't say anything but he could tell I was bothered and he threw in a donut to try and make up for it -- I'd assume. Either way, shady business and not cool, so I felt the need to share. I miss integrity and respectful customer service in food places..

Yelp
These are the best no frills raised donuts in Seattle. No competition. Not to mention an important Seattle establishment that feels like one of the last places really for the people. But even if it wasn't, you can't beat cheap breakfast sandwiches, great donuts, and kind employees.
google avatar

Employee E.

Yelp
It is my new "go to" donut spot. If you like raised donuts there is nothing better. Reasonable prices and great friendly service. Forget $6 donuts at these over priced venues. I also appreciate getting a free donut hole or two when I order.
google avatar

Jeremy C.

Yelp
The service here is always great and I love supporting a small business. I stop by every do often with my kids for their donuts which they love. There's a parking lot right in front which is a huge plus for the area.

Yelp
Best donut in Seattle No fluff just a great donut Nicest owners Get there early they will sell out!
google avatar

Ajay M.

Yelp
Ordered some breakfast pastries and it was very yummy and hit the spot. Tasted fresh and fluffy as a cloud

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Great food, service, and the glaze donut is my favorite. I also like the tuna sandwich!
google avatar

Henry L.

Yelp
Descent variety of doughnuts and deli foods. Very friendly staff. Fresh doughnuts made daily. Open earlier than the businesses in the area. You can order online. Limited amount of donuts available. Absolute hidden gem!
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Holy moly this is thee best glazed donut I've ever had. I was having a fat Friday morning with friends visiting from out of town. We had just picked up our breakfast burritos next door at Alibertos and decided to get donuts to go with the coffee at home. I am pleasantly surprised with how phenomenal the donut was. This will be my go-to spot for glazed and maple bars in South Seattle.

Yelp
I don't know why I haven't written a review before now, but I love this doughnut shop. It has delicious doughnuts, amazing prices for Seattle, and the best service. Not to mention they are open before everyone else is and have a fantastic variety. I highly recommend supporting this small business!

Rachel J.

Yelp
We love this place! It reminds me of a donut/kolache shop in Texas. My husband says it's finally a place to satisfy his Dunkin' Donuts cravings! We've had their kolaches, donuts, and bagel sandwiches. All 10/10. Their iced coffee is incredible. Very nice staff. Also, the prices are so reasonable. This is quickly becoming a weekly go-to!

Yelp
Stopped through craving a sweet on my way to the city. The owners are the nicest people and the donuts didn't disappoint!!!!

Jim S.

Yelp
Why did all the reviews for this place get removed? Used to have like 30 reviews and over 4.5 star average. Great place, great food, great small business. Always get my breakfast sandwiches here. Super nice service!
google avatar

Riley D.

Yelp
I went there to pick up an order of four donuts. When I got there, there is no employee behind the counter, and despite ringing the bell, I stood there for 8 minutes before getting helped (8 minutes is not a made up number, I sent a text right when I parked and I wasn't helped by an employee until 8 minutes after that text was sent. There was only one other customer in the store and they had already been helped by the time I got there and were waiting on coffee. I could hear two employees in the back room talking, so I don't know why one of them couldn't have come out and helped me. It also doesn't take eight minutes for two people to make a couple coffees for the customer that was already waiting when I got there. I had to wait a long time despite the place not being busy at all so 3 stars for poor customer service.

Yelp
It's more of a 4.5 star. The only reason was that they didn't have a lot of variety of donuts. First time here, so I don't know if maybe I came too late or bad timing? Or maybe they're just that popular. I came in just before 9am, and everything was pretty much gone. Definitely get the French cruellers. They were super moist. The maple bar, chocolate custard, and donutholes were super light and fluffy. Everything was just the right amount of sweet. I was disappointed I couldn't try the mochinut. They were made to order, and I didn't have the time to wait 15-20 minutes. Good to know they're always going to be fresh though. Maybe I'll get a chance to try it next time. Service was quick and friendly. Paid about $11 for half a dozen. So pricing is pretty fair. No complaints there. The place is very spacious and clean inside. Definitely will be coming back. Maybe I'll have to come super early to have a better variety of donuts I can get.

Yelp
Amazing donuts I've had a few times and I tried their lunch food today. Garlic chicken was very good and reasonably priced, especially for this day and age. The staff was very friendly and had good recommendations. I also noticed they have an extensive breakfast sandwich menu I plan on trying out. Seems like a small family owned business that I've heard has been around for a long time. I hate how yelp removes good reviews of small business that can't afford to pay yelp. Don't skip this place because of limited reviews. I've heard from friends that their parents have been going to this place for years

Aaron Michael F.

Yelp
I will sing the praises of this place forever, a great restaurant with the kindest owners. The food is delicious and served quickly for those of us who don't have a lot of time. The donuts are tasty and well presented. The restaurant is very much a grab and go style of restaurant, so the seating is sparse, but clean and always available. Love this place!
