Doppio Zero - Review - Mountain View - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Even though it’s one of the busiest spots in town, Doppio Zero always feels cozy and intimate, mostly thanks to the warmly lit dining room and the crackling fire in the open kitchen’s wood-burning pizza oven. The restaurant may be best known for its gorgeously charred, blistered Neapolitan pizzas, but don’t overlook the crispy fried artichokes, tender housemade gnocchi in eggplant sauce, or braised wild boar over fresh fettuccine. When the weather is nice, grab a table out front and pretend you’re dining al fresco on a piazza in Naples." - Gabi Moskowitz

Doppio Zero Pizzeria Napoletana

"It’s easy to overlook pizza as a way to quell hunger pangs, but sink your teeth into the selections here and you’re quickly reminded that it’s an art form unto itself. The pies are, well, epic (and certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, one of just a few in the state), and well-seasoned—topped with a zesty tomato sauce and bold ingredients. Then there is that crust—chewy and blistered with just the right amount of char. You could come just for pizza, but that would mean missing out on such delicious dishes as polpo—smoky octopus dressed with anchovy vinaigrette and set atop tomatoes. It’s so much more than just a “salad.”The bustling interior doesn’t distract from the goods. On a nice day, grab a seat on the sidewalk to imbibe the bliss." - Michelin Inspector

Went in colleges for an office lunch. The place is crowded a bit, as one would expect on the Castro street at lunch time. The pizzas are super authentic, tho I’d have expected them to be a tad bit less soggy. Light eating - won’t bloat you with massive carb load (ie., you’d still ve functional post-linch). We had the Pulcinella and Fungo, both were nice. The fries and the caprese appetizers were small but very tasty. I’d prefer the outdoor seating (the indoor seating felt a bit dimly lit, bordering on dingy). Note to manager : hire another wait staff. Those people are way overworked for the number of guests you’ve got. You could catch couple bucks more on the mani frankly speaking.

walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar and had such a good experience. i ordered the stracciatella and tomato basil pasta and an arugula salad — everything came out quickly and was super flavorful. the pasta was fresh and comforting, and the salad balanced it perfectly. the vibe is casual but elevated and you can tell they care about the food. i’d come back for the pizza next time, it looked amazing.

An Italian restaurant serving pizza and other Italian dishes in a lively ambience in Castro Street Mountain View. We had lasagna, two different types of pizzas, pasta and Aperol as a beverage. The items were all well made and the service efficient. One thing about the pizzas though, the pizza base is very thick around the edges, somewhat chewy and burnt. Possibly, it could be made better to avoid wastage of food. Toilets are convenient and one has to find parking in one of the parking lots in adjacent streets. The entire street has a wide collection of restaurants catering to different cuisines and on the weekend it becomes a very lively place with impromptu song and dance events taking place

Our favorite Italian restaurant in the Bay area. Neapolitan styled wood fired Pizzas are so thin and crispy. Mushroom Ravioli is super delicious. Tiramisu is amazing, so creamy and soft. I strongly recommend to check out this place. It’s advised to make reservations as this place is always busy.

Had high hopes as this was a highly rated restaurant and quite busy even on weekdays… Started off with wine (they did not have Riesling which was a bummer for me) Truffle fries and burrata were decent… Gnocchi was good Pizza was okayish We asked if they could make aglio e olio pasta for us, they said YES and gave us a sad plate of aglio o olio! It was so bland that it tasted like nothing and looked all white… No garlic flavor infused in the pasta or any parsley or chili flakes! Overall a very average food experience! Would bot go here again!

5/26/25 Doppio Zero 160 Castro St Mountain View, CA 94041 We went for lunch on Memorial Day, popular place, the large bar and table dining area was about ¾ full. There was lots of parking in the city free parking structure behind the restaurant. We were seated promptly and service was attentive and good throughout our lunch. We ordered the Fried Calamari and Shrimp, Fregola Del Pescatore and Ravioli. The Shrimp and Calamari was a nice combination and fried with a light breading to perfection. The Calamari was very tender. It was accompanied with a bland Marinara sauce and they didn't have Tabasco sauce to kick it up and make it more like a cocktail sauce. The seafood pasta lacked flavor and the couscous like Fregola got stuck in the clam shells so a fettuccine or linguine would probably be better for this dish. The spinach ravioli had a nice rich cheese taste. This is mostly a pizza and appetizer place with limited pasta and entree menu selections compared with other Italian venues. The food needs more flavor and no cocktail or Tabasco sauce so no repeat.

Stopped by Doppio Zero for lunch and had a really enjoyable experience. We ordered the Pulcinella and Fungo pizzas—both were delicious. The crust was light and perfectly crisp, and the toppings were fresh and well-balanced. The Pulcinella had just the right amount of heat, while the Fungo was rich, earthy, and satisfying. To start, we had the Brussels Sprouts and Potato Croquettes, which were both excellent. The Brussels sprouts were roasted beautifully with a great texture and seasoning, and the croquettes were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside—comfort food done right. We chose to sit outside, which added to the experience. While the tables were a bit crunched together at first and felt slightly cramped, it didn't end up being a big deal. The atmosphere was lively but relaxed, perfect for a casual lunch. Overall, the food, ambiance, and service came together to make for a very good lunch outing. Would definitely come back, especially to try more of the pizza options!

I enjoyed the Marochiaro—the noodles had a subtle squid ink flavor, and the seafood was soft and fresh. The La Carne pizza and meatballs were both hearty and satisfying. The only miss was the hazelnut gelato—it was overly sweet for my taste and not something I would recommend.

Yelp
I visited doppio zero from out of town and I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food and the service. I tried the calamari, truffle fries, fungo pizza and the salsaccia pizza. It was delicious. Not to mention, the ambiance was amazing. It was a very family friendly experience and the servers were attentive to my requests and needs. I would recommend the restaurant to all my family and friends. This restaurant offered a great selection of food and the experience made this whole restaurant worth the price.

Yelp
Come early if you want to get a seat. We got one outside after 30 minutes waiting. When it's busy, they're overwhelmed so be patient? Once we sat service was quick. We got the pera salad, coquette both were great to start the meal. We then got jalapenos pizza, doppio zero pizza and la carna pizza. Jalapeño pizza 3/5 barely any jalapeño as you see on the picture. Did not cut the pizza for us either. Doppio zero pizza 3/5 it was a salad on the pizza, still good. But the taste is overwhelming. Pizza was not pre cut. La carne 5/5 got a kick to it, could use a little more meat but our favorite. Pizza was kinda pre cut. All looked like personal pizza sizes but after bread and apps, it does fill you up slowly. We enjoyed it but will try to visit at down times. Did not get any drinks. Looked good tho!

Yelp
Overall I found the dining experience a bit hectic and the pizza to be disappointing. I shared the croquettes (partially shown; the full portion consisted of 7 pieces) and the Doppio Zero and Pulcinella pizzas with a friend for an early dinner. We both enjoyed the croquettes, which had a cheesy (but not too heavy or strong) flavor. I enjoyed the flavor of both pizzas (especially the combination of the burrata and prosciutto on the Doppio Zero) but both turned soggy very quickly and were pretty difficult to eat throughout. While I expect Neopolitan pizza to be heavier in the middle, I felt that this level of sogginess should be avoidable. We opted to sit at the bar; it felt somewhat crowded due to the long tables directly behind us covering the full length of the indoor seating area. The restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived a little after 5pm on a Wednesday night, but there was a time limit of 1 hour for sitting outside due to upcoming reservations so I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time if you are able.

Yelp
Doppio Zero is my new favorite local chain. I had a chance to come to their original location in Mt View for dinner yesterday. I recently saw an article about Naples being the best food town in the world and saw the Stanley Tucci documentary about Naples. Well...Doppio Zero which claims that Southern Italy inspires them helps make the case further. Neapolitan pizza with its simple ingredients and soft tasty crust is amazing. The pizza and the pasta here are very good. The ambience is casual nice and the service is friendly and very efficient. Great meal overall!

Yelp
I was craving really good pizza so I decided to stop by here. We got seated extremely quick despite how busy it was on a Sunday afternoon. The food did not disappoint! We got the Salsiccia pizza and Polpettine. Both were delicious but I was surprised by the portion size of the Polpettine. I wish they gave more than 1 piece of garlic bread. The pizza was a good size and enough for sharing on top of an appetizer.

Yelp
The dough is amazing on the pizza! It's super airy and chewy. The variety and toppings on the pizza were also solid! We tried the truffle mushroom pasta as well and that was also really yummy! I really like trying restaurants in this downtown Mountain View area since it's such a nice place to hang out and enjoy the vibes afterwards too with Castro St blocked off.

Yelp
It's a rustic modern Italian dining experience here at Doppio Zero. I was a few years late to try this place. They have a good range of Italian dishes, pizza, pasta and more, at a fairly reasonable price. Fungo Pizza is always a must try for me and it did not disappoint. I did enjoy their version with chili flakes, adds more flavor to the simplicity of the mushroom pizza. I like the wild mushrooms that they used, i think it's beech mushrooms, if not maybe enoki. The pizza size is pretty big, good for sharing 2-3 people. The Melanzane alla Parmigiana is also good. The eggplant is really soft to eat. It's a little bit saucy than I'm used too. Also tried the truffle fries and i like its thin cut and just light touch of truffle. The service was good and fast for lunch time. They are attentive to refills and checks on the table a good number of times. It's nice to find a place I can go to if I crave Italian cuisine with good food, reasonable price, and accessible location.

Yelp
The Mortadella Pizza and Fettucine Wild Boar were delicious! The pizza was perfectly charred and the dough had a slight chew. It wasn't overly salty nor heavy. The pasta was al dente and the meat added a great umami taste to the dish with the tomato sauce adding a hint of freshness. The service was great. Staff were nice. The only complaint I have is that it was so loud in the restaurant. Almost a sensory overload with the loud club-like music and people talking loudly trying to hear each other. I could barely hear my partner from across me. The good thing is that there is plenty of outdoor seating. Since the weather is getting warmer, I recommend sitting outside if it's too crowded inside--a note to myself for next time :)

Yelp
ok, i'm a huge fan of neopolitan pizza. it's my favorite style, so maybe i'm biased, but i absolutely love this place. the service is incredibly fast and efficient, and the pizza, salad, pasta... it's all amazing. we've had the panna cotta too, and it's great. their wine list, in my opinion, could use some work. it's a little boring. but they have some fun appertivos and things on their dessert menu that you don't see every day.

Yelp
Came by for lunch the other day and it was a decent experience. Doppio Zero is featured in the Michelin guiide and offers both indoor, patio, and outdoor dining. The dining room seems to have been lightly remodeled recently and the highlight of the restaurant is the efficiency of the kitchen and staff. Started off with the fried calamari and shrimp and it came out within minutes. Oil quality was great as the calamari and shrimp were lightly breaded and fried to perfection. This was served with a small side of marinera sauce. Moved on to the Doppio Zero pizza and it was also excellent. The dough was light and fluffy, topped with some aged prosciutto, fresh burrata and finished off with some arugula. ~$25/head after tax and gratuity. Suggested gratuity options start at 18% pre-tax.

Yelp
I had the best pizza of my entire life here- was recently introduced to this spot and have already been twice. Ordered the same thing both times because both dishes were just that good. I had the doppio zero pizza and marechiaro, which was a squid ink and seafood tomato pasta. Everything about the pizza was so perfect- amazing proportions of arugula, prosciutto, cheese, and dough. Pasta had the ideal chewy texture and such a generous portion of seafood (clams and scallops). There is a yummy complimentary bread bowl, but only upon request so don't forget to ask your waiter for this. My new favorite Italian restaurant, such an elegant interior and definitely will be back to try more menu items.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch yesterday and got the polpettine, broccolini, and bufalina pizza. The meatballs were really good and the broccolini was decent but nothing special. The pizza was kinda wet like I guess the best description would be juicy? Lol. I would come back here though I liked the food I would just get pasta or a different pizza next time. I think it was maybe the cheese that made the sogginess. The service was fast and friendly as well. It was nice to sit outside there because it was a nice day out.
google avatar

Yelp
My friend and I split a Salsiccia pizza and Gnocchi to share. Everything came out pretty quickly. The pizza wasn't as hot as I would have liked it to have been - I feel like it got cold pretty quickly after we got it. The toppings also weren't dispersed very evenly or well. As for the pasta, I don't usually like gnocchi but I enjoyed this dish. The flavor was wonderful and I ended up dipping my pizza crust in the sauce. I enjoyed both dishes overall and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and was seated inside. Everything we ordered was delicious. The artichokes were really good and stood out to me the most. Also got the mushroom pasta and arancini. I would come back here!!
google avatar

Yelp
Located in Downtown Mountain View, parking is plentiful. The restaurant was pretty crowded. However, my friend and I were able to get seated quickly. There's quite a bit of seating inside and several tables outside with heaters which the employees do ensure are on. Salsiccia (5/5): came in steaming hot. The dough was fluffy and there were so many toppings. The cheese was absolutely perfect and so delicious. Everything from the dough to the sauce and toppings came together so perfectly. Food was served relatively quickly. Overall, Doppio Zero has some delicious food and I had a good dining experience.

Yelp
This is the most authentic pizza place in the Bay Area. The burrata cheese was one of the best that I have ever had.

Yelp
I love this place, but the pizzas are often soggy now, different from a couple years ago

Yelp
Decent italian place on castro street from with amazing & fast service! Carrot soup was delicious & fresh Ravioli had mushroom stuffing & was super creamy. quantity was good Artichoke appetizer was refreshing & crispy Both the pizza were decent. Not extraordinary though! The sage flavor on pizza was minty & amazing!

Yelp
Been coming year for a year and it still is in our top 3 Bay Area pizza places, and that is saying something! We recently tried a few new dishes that I had to document since they were fantastic. The bruschetta may have been my favorite bite of the night. If you're debating it, get it. Also tried the truffle fettuccine and it was amazing! If you're a fan of mushrooms, the fungi pizza was delicious. However, as always I highly recommend the doppio pizza. Enjoy!
google avatar

George W.

Yelp
One of the better restaurants on Castro. With so many options, this is definitely in the top five on that street - for quality, service, ambiance, and price/value. Hard to hit on all of these but Doppio does. I would say their calamari and pizzas are top notch. Calamari perfectly breaded and fried. Pizza has amazing crust, flavor and texture. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My friend and I got a reservation the day of on a busy Friday night for 6:15 PM. They only had outdoor seating remaining. Food: We fell in love with the Fungo pizza, Marechiaro, and truffle fries. We also ordered the broccolini, which was drenched in oil. We didn't finish that small plate. The truffle fries came with a side of ketchup, and when we asked for some mayonnaise, we were informed Doppio Zero has no other sauces. We thought the runner was messing with us at first but he was serious about ketchup being their only sauce. Service: We often had to call for a server for assistance. However, the staff was helpful when we finally caught their attention. Ambiance: I love Castro Street. Sitting outside next to the heater especially makes me love this city more.

Yelp
This is an Italian restaurant on Castro Street of Mountain View, specializing in Neapolitan pizzas and hand crafted pasta. The two of us had a light lunch and tried their Little Gem salad with Chicken and the Marechiaro pasta. The salad was really good and unique. It came with marinated anchovies, watermelon radish, Parmesan cheese, croutons, and anchovies avocado dressing. The grilled chicken was tender. The pasta was a house made squid ink tagliolini with plenty of scallops, clams, and roasted garlic in a light spicy tomato sauce. It was delicious! We also had their Cannoli for desert. It was quite delightful with the right amount of sweetness. The restaurant was lively with an eye-catching brick pizza oven in the back. Will come back another time to try their Neapolitan pizzas, they looked great. Service was good, I didn't feel rushed while waiting for my friend who was having some parking issues. Parking lots that are free are available in Downtown Mountain View, but with some roads blocked off that day it got a bit tricky.

Yelp
Here to update on my previous review from 9 years ago... I give this place 4.5 stars. The food has become one of our favorite local places just for the amazing food!!! We absolutely love their Doppio Zero Pizza, croquettes appetizers and their pasta Ragu. However the service is still lacking. Whenever we go, especially during "peak weekend times" we are either seated and "pushed to eat our food quickly" which I absolutely despise. The whole deal about paying a babysitter to watch our kids and have a nice date night is to be able to sit down and enjoy our meal in peace without feeling rushed. I'm not taking about staying way past our reservation time, but not being seated at 7:45 and finished and served our bill by 8:30. That's NOT okay at all. We could tell they were extremely busy so I get it, so we ended up walking across the street for beer and dessert instead of sharing our frustrations. So if you want to venture out here during the peak times like Friday, or any weekend nights that's the price you may have to pay for the amazing food. So sadly as much as it's one of our go-to places to eat here, we usually come during the day when it's less crowded and we can get better service and can enjoy our meal in a reasonable time.

Yelp
First visit to Doppio Zero. Tried the Pulcinella pizza - Good combo of Red sauce and pesto sauce - Loved it! Note to Self: Ask for No Eggplant next time.

Yelp
Loved my experience dining here on a Sunday for lunch! My family and I stopped by after visiting the farmer's market, and this restaurant was pretty busy, but we were still able to get seated immediately. Castro's been largely car-free since COVID, so we got to sit in the super cute and spacious outdoor dining area. The service was wonderful and the food came out impressively fast. We weren't too hungry after the farmer's market, but we ordered two appetizers and one pizza to share for less than $70, and there were still leftovers. Here's everything we ordered for 3: - shrimp and calamari fritti (5/5): super generous portions, and all the seafood tasted so delicious and fresh. The acidity of the marinara sauce paired perfectly with the crispy fried pieces. After the food cooled, it became just a bit too oily for me but was great overall. - crispy brussel sprouts (3.5/5): wasn't that impressed with this one, the brussel sprouts weren't actually very crispy, unfortunately. I liked the bacon and parmesan it came with though. - la carne red sauce pizza (5/5): forgot to take a picture of this one, but you can really taste the difference of the fresh-baked pizza here compared to the average place. The dough was so perfectly chewy, and I loved the fresh mozzarella on here.

Yelp
We arrived at 430 for an early dinner and were seated right away. We had a very attentive server: he checked on us several times and gave water and ginger ale refills often. There is indoor and outside seating. The outside seating is on a closed off street surrounded by a lot of other restaurants with the same type of seating. It was a neat area and we quickly realized that many of the people walking around were door dash drivers picking up orders. We ordered the pera salad to share (arugula, pears, pumpkin seeds, goat cheese and a lemon vinaigrette - flavorful and light), Melanzane alla Parmigiana (layered eggplant, mozzarella and basil cooked with a tomato sauce), lasagna, the calzone and a cannoli to share. All the food was delicious and arrived in a timely manner. But it arrived lukewarm and that was weird. They'd just opened for the night and it was like the food had been prepped and sitting around for a while. So while it was all delicious, it was not hot and that was a turn off. We had concert plans so we didn't have time to discuss the food with the staff and possibly get the problem resolved. Wouldn't go back because there are so many other excellent restaurants to choose from - why go back to a place that serves lukewarm food?

Yelp
Doppio Zero is a great place to enjoy company over small plates, pasta, and pizza! PARKING There are tons of parking lots and street parking around the downtown area. AMBIANCE It's located in downtown Mountain View and has plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor seating has been my favorite. It's out front of the restaurant with spacious tables and a breath of fresh air. SERVICE The servers are attentive and try to give you the best dining experience possible. Very friendly. FOOD The food here is excellent. Everything is delicious. I won't get into details for every dish I've had, but there are various dishes to choose from. This is an obvious must, but I highly recommend trying their pasta and pizza. I appreciate the small plates and specials for the day, which gives you room to deviate and order something else to try. A few of the plates I've had the chance to try with friends are: * Lasagna * Calamari & Shrimp * Brussel Sprouts * Beets * Fettucine Short Ribs * Marechiaro * Salsiccia Pizza * Bufalina Pizza * Figs & Prosciutto Pizza Che buono!

Yelp
Whenever my coworkers want to go out to celebrate we always come to this restaurant. It's conveniently located on Castro in downtown MTV and there's free parking lots and a free parking garage! This time around we got the potato croquettes and the burrata with crostini and hazelnuts for appetizers. The croquettes were fine. The soup they were in was very fragrant though and was a nice touch. The burrata with crostini on the other hand was delicious. It was sweet with a touch of honey, creamy from the burrata and nutty and earthy from the hazelnut. Very complementary flavors The fettuccine wild boar was good but a bit too gamey for my taste. The pasta itself was the perfect texture and tasted really fresh. The sauce was inoffensive but didn't stand out. The wild boar was a little dry but the sauce helped with that! I forgot to take a picture but we got the Fungo pizza and it was delicious. It was super umami and there was a nice variety of wild mushrooms as well as truffle oil on top. The crust was nice and thin with a good amount of char. I'd stick with the pizzas next time, they seem more worth it in my opinion The portions are in the smaller side so I would budget $30-50 in order to be truly satisfied.

Yelp
One of the best pizza places I've ever been! I've been here twice and pizza from both occasions are very delicate and with right amount of smokiness from the pizza oven. Between the Doppio Zero pizza (white sauce) and marinara del re (tomato based paste with anchovy), the Doppio Zero pizza is still my favorite, since the marinara del re was on the salty and fishy side and requires a bit more acquired taste. The grill octopus appetizer was very good. It's texture is chewy as it should be, grilled well and sauce is not overpowering. Outdoor seating is available and perfect for a nice weather and the environment was very casual and relaxing. Service was alright. They've failed to refill the water bottle at the end, but we were almost done, so it wasn't a big deal. Otherwise, it's typical service.

Yelp
My friend took me here for a cute girls date, I was not sure what to expect but I walked in and it was the cutest place ever. I loved the ambiance walking in, it seemed very calm and mellow. We happened to be 20 mins late to our reservation but they were still able to seat us. We were seated and our server was great. Everyone working was attentive to all of those who were dining. The waitress recommended some food that she liked and constantly checked up on us. When we were brought water, the gentleman noticed our table was a little wobbly and fixed it right then and there. Really appreciated that. We ordered the margarita pizza and lasagna as our entrees. I love a Margherita pizza because of the simplicity of it. I really enjoyed this one but I wish there was more basil and the pizza was hotter. Since the pizza was thin, it did get cold pretty fast which was a little disappointing. I did enjoy the chewiness of the dough and crust. The lasagna was great, it reminds me of a classic homemade lasagna. There is not much I would change about that one. Overall I did enjoy the food and vibes, would definitely come back.

Yelp
I went to Doppio Zero today and I order the vegan pizza and it was so good! The service was also really good, very friendly and constantly check on me and my friend to see if we needed anything or anything else and final I really like the ambiance of the restaurant very clean and nice looking; I like how you can see the brick oven they use to make the pizzas

Yelp
Came here for an early happy hour dinner on a weeknight. We got a pizza, Mac and cheese and fried calamari. It was nice that the food was cheap, but none of it was very good. Service was just ok.
google avatar

Yelp
Week day happy hour. Amazing pizza. Indoor seating only. I came here with a friend. We did happy hour. I only had appetizers. Ordered: Calamari Margherita pizza Pasta with cheese Lemon cello cake Everything I ordered was off the happy hour menu except the lemon cello. I could've done without lemon cello. The rest of the appetizers were absolutely amazing. That pasta with the sauce I did not see that coming. It was so cheesy and so savory. The margarita pizza tasted like it came straight from Italy. I missed that way that mozzarella cheese melts on Margherita pizza like that. The only complaint I had was about the service. I just felt like the waiters were really kind of approaching at the wrong times a lot. It was slightly awkward. I probably won't come back just for that reason. It was really noisy inside and they used to have a beautiful outdoor seating which they have since gotten rid of. Food is delicious but probably won't be back.

Yelp
Hands down, one of the best pizza places in the Bay Area! Starting off with the Polpettine meatballs for appetizers was a refreshing delight. The Brussels sprouts dish was an unexpected star - crispy and perfectly seasoned with bacon, it's easily the best I've had. Moving on to the main event, the signature Doppio Zero pizza exceeded all expectations. The soft, pillowy dough paired flawlessly with the decadent combination of burrata cheese and Parma ham. For a bit of heat and a whole lot of flavor, the La Carne red pizza is a meat lover's dream, although a tad oily. Don't miss out on the Marechiaro pasta with scallops and clams - it's a must-order dish! The homemade squid ink tagliolini was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of bite. Overall, a culinary experience that's not to be missed! The service was great too! Not too crowded for lunch! Nice for friend and family gathering! Very busy for dinner though!

Yelp
My friend and I went to Doppio Zero for late night dinner on a weekday. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The place was packed, and we didn't have a reservation, but we were seated right away. We got there 40 minutes before the closing time, and their service was fast. We ordered- 1. Delizia pasta 2. Fettuccine short ribs pasta 3. Salsiccia red pizza 4. Tiramisu The Salsiccia pizza was good, but all the dressings wouldn't stick to the bread. The tiramisu was okay. The chocolate syrup drizzle on top was a bit too much. The portion size was pretty big. I wish the short ribs pasta had more meat. I don't know why, but it tasted better when I had it as a leftover meal. Delizia pasta with chicken was petty good, too. Their menu doesn't have a lot of non seafood pasta options.

Yelp
The pizza was probably the best i've ever had so that was nice and the dessert was good. The ravioli was yummy too and the service was a little slow but pretty good altogether. I was just a little sad when we didn't get bread but every table around us was offered bread :/

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I made a reservation a month ahead to celebrate my husband's significant birthday, and I was genuinely excited about the experience. However, despite having a great server, this restaurant made almost every mistake imaginable. Now, let's review the food. I would give an overall rating of five stars for the food. Doppio Zero Pizza Dinner (5/5): I really enjoyed this pizza; it had a generous amount of filling like cheese and prosciutto, and it was delicious. My only wish is that they could cut the pizza more evenly and into separate slices for easier serving. Fried calamari (4/5): The waiter claimed it was the best calamari, but perhaps I had set my expectations too high, as I ended up feeling that there was nothing particularly special about this dish. Gnocchi (4/5): My husband ordered this dish and enjoyed it, but personally, I'm not a fan of red sauce pasta. Tiramisu (5/5): We received this as a complimentary treat for the birthday celebration, and it tasted great. However, there's a story behind it. I initially asked our waiter if the restaurant did anything special for birthdays. The waiter mentioned they only sing a birthday song and asked if we wanted him to sing, with a somewhat strange smile or laugh. I perceived it as disrespectful, making it seem like I was only asking for a free dessert. Despite my willingness to pay for the dessert, I learned from another reviewer that there's complimentary tiramisu for birthdays. I approached the front desk, confirmed this, and the waiter later explained that I might have misunderstood him. I apologized for any confusion. Additionally, I would not recommend the cocktails in this restaurant; we ordered one and barely drank it. The reason for my three-star rating, despite the delicious food: - The restaurant mistakenly gave our entire order to the table next to us, then realized it wasn't their food. The server then turned around and placed the food on our table. - We were charged extra for a pizza we never ordered. Fortunately, I checked the order before paying, and the waiter acknowledged that the pizza belonged to another table. - The restaurant is much louder than the quiet dining environment I expected for a good date night. - The initial impression the waiter left me with was unfriendly; it could be due to cultural differences.

Yelp
Great option for dinner in downtown Mountain View. Restaurant is pretty crowded so come early if you don't have a reservation or make a reservation in advance. The pizza and pasta are both good. There's a lot of indoor and outdoor seating (outdoor seating does have patio heaters). Service is fast.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday during lunch. Not alot of air conditioning going on as it was a hot day so really got the real Italian experience! ( i dont think they use AC in Italy) I ordered the margarita pizza and the cauliflower soup. Bf ordered broccoli and the doppio pizza. My my the stand out was the doppio pizza. That dollop of cheese!! With the proscuitto. The crust is kinda too big tho cos im not a crust eater. And there wasnt that much sauce on my margarita pizza tho it was good. The cauliflower soup was good as well. And the broccoili! Bf favors Terun more in palo alto but happy we got to try this place!

Yelp
Ambiance: spacious indoor and outdoor. Clean, silverware is wrapped in black cloth napkins. No rush to eat and pay on a Sunday afternoon. Service: we were a big party of 12 including kids (yes, high chairs available) so bill had an auto 20% gratuity added on. They were patient with us as we had to decide for a while how and what to order. Servers and I think someone from management came around at least 3x to check on us. Food: Apps - fried calamari and shrimp were really dry. Would skip the next time. The sprouts were nicely seasoned, slightly crisp and I liked the cut bacon strips mixed in. pizzas - I like the slightly fresh chewy crust. Slightly burnt here and there but no biggie. Pastas: good to share and quite meaty in both. Might be a bit too heavy for lunch, esp on a hot day.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of the SF location and the Mountain view location lived up to the same level of experience. The service was outstanding. The food sublime, but the desserts were off the hook good. We started with a Margherita Pizza and a Fungi Pizza and ended up ordering another Fungi because they were so delish. Then the desserts came. Limoncello cake and a tiramisu Both were scrumptious!! We were seated outside in the beautiful California sun.

Yelp
Came on a weekday evening. They said it'd take 45 min (maybe quicker) to get seated inside. It ended up taking 27 minutes. Food: Margherita Pizza (4.5/5) this was solid pizza. Tasty red sauce with lots of cheese and a light fluffy crust. Ravioli (4/5) the truffle sauce really stood out and the filling was good too. The ravioli dough itself was a bit tougher than to my preference but still good. Pera Salad (3.75/5) I liked the components of the salad. The arugula tasted fresh and the pumpkin seeds added a nice crunch. Parking: Street or shared parking structure Overall I'd come here again!

Yelp
Stopped by for a date night recently and had a pretty good time here! The drinks and apps were great too. I'll admit, I'm not a fan of mushroom by ANY means but when I tried the Fungo pizza I almost changed my mind. The texture of the crust was so soft and fluffy, it was soo good. It reminded me of naan. Everything about this pizza was great!! The bottom might have been a bit too charred for my taste but it didn't take away from the experience. Next time, I might pass on the mushroom/asparagus ravioli tho. It tasted like it was missing some seasoning and I wasn't too impressed with that one. They are known for their pizza though so next time we'll stick to the pies. The outdoor seating is great because you can enjoy drinks and food while people watching, and take a nice stroll around Castro afterwards. :)

Yelp
Overall: 3/5 stars for lunch or dinner. 5/5 stars for happy hour, which is from 4:30-6pm Mondays-Thursday. Doppio Zero in Mountain View is a solid place if you want a nice restaurant in Mountain View that is good for groups or date night. The service is friendly, the food is solid (but there aren't many dishes that we *really* raved about), the atmosphere is nice. It's really easy to get group reservations as well. If you want to come here, I highly recommend checking out their happy hour! Decent prices, solid food and great atmosphere. Dishes we recommend: - Fig and prosciutto pizza, one of their specialty pizzas. Everyone in the group liked it. Side note - I wish they would always cut the pizza into the number of slices that fit the group (for example, if you have 5 people and one pizza, then cut the pizza into 5 pieces. I'll ask them to do that next time). - anything food off their happy hour menu, because it's a good deal! Dishes we tried that were solid, but nothing to write home about: - octopus - broccolini - nectarine salad - pucinella pizza

Yelp
Amazing spot for some authentic Italian pizza in Mountain View! I stopped by with a friend a few months ago and it was the perfect location for a catch up. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts, Polpo (grilled squid), and of course.... The pizza! I came back with the hubby and we added burrata and it was delicious. For drinks, you can't go wrong with an Aperol Spritz. Word to the wise: this place is popular! Try and make a reservation a few days ahead of time to snag a table. Otherwise, you might get lucky and sit by the bar, which is also fun! I saw they are opening up a spot in Campbell and I will definitely be frequenting that once it's open.

Yelp
Food is good but not at the level of an authentic Italian one Loved the pizza so would recommend the Fungo one Service is very good, waiters are very welcoming and helpful. Quality/price is ok

Yelp
I would have expected to see a higher rating for this place. Came here gor a wuick lunch with my girlf. Complementary Bread (5/5): The bread was really good. It had the perfect crunch and flavor. It was really really good. Fettuccine with pesto (4/5) : I wanted something lighter so I got the fettuccine with pesto that had a lot of veggies and no meat. (Although it wasn't that light because it had a lot of olive oild). It was a solid dish. The fettuccine was house made, cooked al dente, and seasoned well. The dish was earthy, had lots of veggies, and did not taste too strong. It was a good lunch although I wasnt blown away by it. Bufala Pizza (4.5/5): Very solid pizza. The crust was amazing. The tomato sauce tasted fresh and there was a good ratio of cheese to tomato. The cheese was alao delicious . Although I hope the basil was not as cooked as it is. Also, we got some chili oil on the side which take it to a whole othwr level. This is a very solid pizza.

Yelp
Bernardo thanks for the great pics you posted. Place was crowded but got seated right away. I got a bit worried when asked if I had a reservation because we didn't have one and I thought we were in for a long wait. They had both inside and outside seating available. Dining area was casual with a bar along the wall. Maria our server was friendly and had great customer service, 5 stars for her. Started off with drinks and appetizers. DRINK Vesuvio Had to try it and it did not disappoint. Its made with Sipsmith London Gin, blueberry honey syrup, pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, Rica deci frat Prosecco, wich is refreshing and exotic. Flavor wa fruity and smooth. APPITIZER Polpo Alla Griglia Grilled Mediteranian octopus served with arugula, cherry tomatoes, red onions, and anchovy dressing. Questions, WHY are purple onions called red onions?????? lol Calamari & Shrimp Deep fried calamari and shrimp with a side of tomatoe sauce and lemon wedge. Brussele Sprouts Fried brussle sprouts, pancetta (bacon) parmigiano raggiano and red wine vinegar. This was the winner. Loved the flavor and the crunchy ends, so good. FOOD Marechiaro Homemade squid ink tagliolini, jumbo scallops, clams, roasted garlic in a light spicy tomato sauce. I was a bit hesitant to eat the pasta, I thought my teeth were going to be black by the time I finished, lol, they weren't. This palce is a must try. I am definatley coming back to try the pizza and more Vesuvio.
