"The Eastside is where Dough Zone's dumpling reign began, and nothing warms us up much better on a chilly gray day than steamy sesame dan dan noodles, pork q-bao, chicken wontons in hot and sour broth, and potstickers with a brittle cornstarch skirt. We even love the plain broccoli dunked in seafood sauce. For those getting lunch with coworkers or who just feel like popping a dozen xiao long bao in your mouth like you’re playing a game of Hungry Hungry Hippos, Dough Zone will always be waiting for you. "This local chain is such a darling of the area that it now has four locations on the Eastside and a fifth, with more modern styling, in Seattle. This is the place for small portions of noodles, dumplings, buns, and more, all at reasonable prices with efficient service. The soup dumplings give legendary Din Tai Fung’s a run for their money, and, as an added bonus, Dough Zone serves a fluffy fried version: the wonderful sheng jian bao, typically called Q-bao here." - Jay Friedman

"We like Dough Zone because you can walk in for dinner, get a seat immediately, and eat some consistently great dumplings and dandan noodles. (Always include the pork jian buns in your order, too.) It’s a little busier at lunch, but it’s a good, casual group spot any time of day." - Aimee Rizzo

The Dough is a classic dumpling and noodle restaurant with several locations in the greater Seattle and Bellevue areas. They offer a great selection of house made dumplings, wontons, buns and noodle dishes. This location serves everything quick and the servers are nice. I’ll say that the physical restaurant is not as nice as the other locations as it is in a small mall and lacks some fun and cleanliness. Also, I would not recommend the cucumber dish. Ours came out at room temperature and the sauce did not taste great.

Google
We tried 5 different dishes and were happy with all of them. Really liked the pork and crab soup dumpling. They only have a "Good" rating from the health department. But our server was great!

Family favorite dumpling place! They even have a Yelp waitlist which helps to understand the wait time. Friendly staff and lots of parking (though the parking has become a challenge with new restaurants and groceries nearby!) we have tried almost everything that fits our palate! here are some of our favorites! 1. Xiao Long Bao - Of course! these soup dumplings are at the top of our list. We order the chicken soup dumplings which creates a taste explosion of warm soup & ground chicken as you put the entire dumpling in your mouth. House favorite! 2. Chicken & Vegetable wontons in Chili sauce - another house favorite. these soft dumplings swimming in a chili sauce is delicious. 3. Chicken & Vegetable wontons in chicken broth - this is like a mild pho with chicken wontons. love the flavored chicken broth. 4. Yi Bin Noodles - These noodles with Umami flavor are soft and tasty. 5. Dan Dan Noodles - the numbing noodles. one of a kind, your entire mouth feels little numb after having these noodles. strangely, you keep eating more as its really flavorful and delicious. and the below are something that i tried but would not go back for these! 1. Onion Pancake - its a crispy pancake with green onion, scallions and fluffy! 2. Jianbing Guo Zi - This is something new & limited to certain locations including this one. It was different texture & taste. Its egg & a flour batter mix which gives it a unique crispy and omelet texture. 3. Chicken pot stickers - these are pan fried dumplings. These are little dry to my liking. 4. Chicken & Vegetable wontons with hot & sour sauce - the only difference is the hot & sour sauce is very spicy to my taste and prefer the chilli sauce. 5. Spicy Ma La Noodle - like the Yi Bin better than this. this has an extreme spice level to my liking!

The tam tam noodle is stellar. The dumplings are good. The crepe was plain tasting despite looking really good.

We went there for a dinner and it was a great experience. A minimal but great ambience and everything tasted awesome and fairly priced. We ordered the following: Pork & Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao (*2) - 8 pieces - $9.25 ea Chicken Xiao Long Bao (*2) - 8 pieces - $9.25 ea Fried Wonton with Chili Sauce - 6 pieces - $7.15 ea Sweet & Sour Cucumber (*2) - $7.15 ea Dan Dan Noodles (*2) - $7.75 ea Pork Wontons in Chicken Broth - $7.75 All the above listed items were delicious and worth praising. Absolutely recommended. We would love to visit here again when we visit Seattle.

Google
Must go place for dumplings. Went on an early weekend dinner and got the table immediately. I ordered chicken steamed dumplings, soup dumplings, and potstickers. Each of them had 6 pieces and taste was awesome. Service was quick and the chili oil complimented the dumplings really well. The ambience was nice and the location is super accessible too. Overall recommended!!!

Google
All their food are great… I would highly recommend the Dan Dan Noodle and the Beef Noodle Soup. The noodles are very chewy, and the Beef is perfectly prep… not too soft and not to hard, it's just right! The portion are on the small size though.

Yelp
We ordered pan-fried vegetable pot stickers, vegetarian spicy (Ma La) noodles, and ube milk tea. Everything was good. The dumplings were delicious, probably the best part of the meal. The noodles were also very tasty. It was my first time trying ube milk tea, which has a sweet potato flavor. I liked it, but I think it might not be for everyone. I would definitely visit again for the dumplings and to try some other items on the menu. Service was also good.Order arrived approximately in 15 min. Ordering was hassle-free; you just had to check off your selections on a menu copy. Here are the prices for the items we ordered: - Pan-fried vegetable pot stickers: $7.15 - Vegetarian spicy (Ma La) noodles: $7.75 - Ube milk tea: $5.95 Spend per person is around $10-$20. Free parking is available, which is convenient.

Yelp
Poor service due to severe understaffing. Two people working in the entire place. There were lots of open tables when we came in but they still made us wait standing in the awkward entry way for ~5 minutes. In the meantime four other parties walked in behind us and were also visibly confused/frustrated to be waiting around without being acknowledged. The service once we were seated was also not great. The servers felt robotic, not warm or helpful at all. The food was mediocre at best. Not as good as the other dough zone locations I've been to in seattle and downtown Bellevue. Lastly the ambiance was terrible. It's sort of in a food court of an Asian grocery story. The feel is very industrial and there is absolutely no decoration to speak of. It was not a great impression. Would not recommend coming to this location. Spend your money at din tai Fung instead or at least a different dough zone.

Yelp
The service was good, we were seated immediately and the food came out pretty fast. We ordered xiao long bao, pan fried buns, cucumber salad, tan tan noodles, and spicy wontons. The xiao long bao was good, it had a nice flavor to it. The pan fried buns were kind of hard on the outside, the inside was good though. The cucumber salad was average, the sauce wasnt as spicy or flavorful as we expected. The spicy wonton order was smaller than we expected, and it needed more chili oil. Overall, the food was okay. Supreme dumplings has bigger portions and better flavor if you want to try out these dishes!

Yelp
It was our first time coming to this Dough Zone location tonight, we've been to the one on Main St. in Downton Bellevue before. We decided to come to this location because the parking's better since it's located in a shopping center. We ordered the spicy beef sandwich, pork soup dumplings, chicken and vegetable wontons with chili sauce, pork wontons with chili sauce, romaine lettuce with sweet spicy garlic dressing, sweet and sour cucumber, dan dan noodles, onion soy sauce noodles, and finally the banana naan bread for dessert. The food was very tasty and had great flavor, we enjoyed it all but wished it was hotter. All of our hot dishes were warm at best and not hot which was unfortunate. The vegetables were nice and crispy and fresh though. The banana naan bread is absolutely delicious too and the perfect end to a meal. The service was just alright and below average. Nothing special at all and could be a lot better. The staff pretty much only came by to give us our food and didn't see much of them besides then and when we paid. The ambiance is okay here. Definitely a casual spot, I like the location in Downtown Bellevue way more. The floors were pretty dirty with crumbs and scraps of food. Didn't seem like the busser wiped down/cleaned tables enough too. We unfortunately probably won't be back to this Dough Zone. Wish our experience was better than it was tonight.

Yelp
We went yesterday, and we were very disappointed with the food, service, and ambiance. We have gone to the Dough Zone in downtown Bellevue and had a great time. However, this one is not up to the same quality. We got the spicy beef sandwich, Chicken & Vegetables wontons, pork soup dumplings, sweet and sour cucumber, romaine lettuce with sweet & spicy garlic dressings, onion soy noodles, Dan Dan noodles, pork wontons with chili sauce, and banana naan bread. The food was delicious and flavorful but could have been warmer. The service was not great. They were slow and didn't check in on us during our whole meal. Our waters needed to be filled, and when we asked for help, the workers seemed annoyed. The ambiance is really dirty at this place; the table and seats were sticky. The bathroom was very gross and not taken care of, and everything looked outdated in the restaurant. Overall, this Dough Zone does not live up to others and needs significant changes. I would not go back to this location.

Yelp
I hit the char limit on my review for 5/27/2024 and need to add my last review notes here! [Service...] was perfect- they came around just often enough with water refills and to check if we needed anything else. But were not obtrusive! At the end of the meal, we ordered a pot of Jasmine tea, and it wasn't until returning home and looking at the emailed receipt that I realized they never charged us for it! So I'm not sure if it's complimentary or not with a certain number of orders? ‍ Our total receipt for all the above plus tax and 20% tip came to $113.92, an average of $22.78 per person, very reasonable!

Yelp
A wonderful experience with good service and great food! We had a group of 3 and came here on a weekday around 7pm with pretty much no wait! Lots of parking in the lot available and this location is in a little mall plaza area. We were seated right away. They give you a paper and pencil where you can mark what you want to order. We got the cucumber, beef pancake, sesame noodle dish, xiao long bao, pork steamed dumpling, pan fried dumpling. Everything was delicious. For me, the cucumber, soup dumpking, and pan-fried dumplings were the highlights of my meal. I didn't really like the beef pancake but my husband did. Overall, a great spot!

Yelp
You pretty much get what you expect at Dough Zone. All the locations are quite consistent with their experience and food quality, and I do really enjoy the food here. I like it more than Din Tai Fung dare I say for both the flavor and value of the dishes. We got a huge spread - potstickers, xiaolongbao, pig ears, scallion pancakes, q bao, spicy wontons, and noodles. The xiaolongbao are fantastic, and so are the pig ears. I was actually a little disappointed by the q bao this time as they were a little to big and dry. Not sure if the recipe changed or it was just a bad batch, but they weren't as good as I remember and definitely don't live up to a shengjianbao. This is a great spot for both small and big groups! Definitely a sharing type meal and worth visiting.

Lizzy L.

Yelp
Absolutely obsessed with Dough Zone. They have the best Dan Dan noodles I've ever had and it pairs super well with the Mango Green Tea! The textures for the noodles are delightful and I love the soup dumplings and potstickers. The cucumbers are super refreshing and light and you also can't go wrong with the beef pancake roll! Service can be a bit slow but they are super friendly. Ambiance is nice and bright with a cozy feeling. Highly recommend coming here if you want great food at great prices?

Bob W.

Yelp
Service and vibe are pretty decent. The food is pretty good. A few complains I have is that the bathroom is outside and it looks mad ghetto. And the water is just sitting in the front without a lid.

Lily D.

Yelp
Used to go to Dough Zone often as they had many vegetarian options or V option available for most of their noodle dishes. When I asked today, waitress informed me that recently the recipes changed and chicken has been incorporated into everything, even the veggie dumplings. Only vegetarian options now are green onion pancake, one noodle dish, and cucumbers. It's a shame and will opt to Din Tai Fung if I'm wanting dumplings now.

Brenna Y.

Yelp
Had high expectations since I've heard so many great things but this just missed the mark for me. Staff is plenty friendly and the location is good; restaurant is clean and the boots are big. The turnoff for me is that the food is quite oily and overall just not very complex. I would much rather go to my ole reliable spot when I'm in the mood for dumplings.

Derrick G.

Yelp
This was my first visit to this Dough Zone location, and the found was outstanding. I ordered the pork & crab dumplings, noodles with minced pork, beef soup noodle and broccoli. All entrees and side dishes were outstanding, and the service was good. This location was easier to navigate than the downtown locations, since the downtown locations do not have restaurant parking. I highly recommend this Dough Zone location.

Ron H.

Yelp
Wait time for a party of 8 was quick and painless utilizing their check in system. Service is quick with the server stopping at our table right away. The ambiance is clean and easy to have table conversations without having to speak over other tables or music. The music is soothing and fits the atmosphere of the restaurant. The food is always delicious with a very wide variety to select from. Dumplings, Boa, etc spot on. No need to go to Din Tai when dough zone is acceptable and affordable. Make sure to check it out you won't regret it.

Declan H.

Yelp
Legendary as always. Gotta have the Q Bao. I wish they put the A-Choy back on the menu. But the Kale dishes hit the spot if you need a vegetable dish to even out the ungodly amount of xiao long bao you should be eating

Yun-Wen L.

Yelp
We stumbled across this store based on reviews but also got a recommendation to it from a stranger on the street Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - so GOOD!!! We've been in areas without good Asian food in a while so not only did it satisfy our cravings, it was just so delicious overall Pork Xiao Long Bao was juicy and had such a nice texture for the bao. Little delicious bites of soupyness with a side of vinegar and ginger to clean your palate for the next bite Pork & Shrimp Pot Stickers had a really nice fry with crispy bottoms. The dumpling itself was okay but the outside texture was wonderful Marinated Pig Ear was one of the more finely sliced version of the dish we've seen but we really enjoy the texture and love that the pieces were marinated all the way through rather than just the flavoring on the outside. Slight kick but the SO added even more chili oil to get to his liking Noodle with Minced Pork has such good flavoring and the noodles were cooked perfectly to have a nice bite without being overly chewy Beef-Stew Noodles has the flavoring and smell even without the soup. The noodles were cooked well also and the beef was so tender it practically melts in your mouth. It was the perfect portion size to complement the other dishes Ambience: 5/5 - crowded parking lot so may have to drive around to find a spot. Open windows so we can imagine a lot of natural lighting during the day. Simple design with lots of space between tables. Very bright lighting Service: 5/5 - we arrived around 8:15 PM with a closing time of 9 but they were still willing to seat and serve us. Service was quick but still friendly and we didn't feel rushed at all during the meal... but we also inhaled the food :3 Value for price: 5/5 - great and speedy service, and absolutely delicious food. Expect to get 2-3 dishes per person and it's great to have a slightly bigger group so you get to try a bit of everything

Shuba S.

Yelp
Our family favorite. We go here once to twice a month. We regularly get the noodles (Yi bin, ma la, noodles with onion sauce, Dan Dan), vegetable steamed dumplings, cucumbers in sweet sauce, romaine lettuce with sweet and spicy sauce, green onion pancakes, and pan fried potstickers are terrific. My kids love the milk tea and the food so no dinner time struggles. Not as $$$ as Din Tai Fung but same level quality. It might be nice if they added some more vegetarian options on the menu like fried rice or sautéed vegetables. Service can range from okay to really good depending on timing. During peak hours, it has been challenging on many occasions to get someone's attention for additional orders or check (I once waited for 25 minutes for my check). Felt bad for people who were waiting to get a table.

Cindy F.

Yelp
TL;DR: green onion pancakes are a must. Parking: shared lot that is a bit cramped and smack dab right near Dough Zone;s entrace is an egged green van with flat tires that seems like it's been there for years. Totally out of place for a "nice" area. Also, strange that no one has done anything about it. Atmosphere: open area with cafeteria like seating. Menu: pretty straight forward. You will get a paper slip with the menu items on it to mark how many of each dish you'd like. Kid Friendly: high chairs, plastic water cup, plastic spoon and plastic fork. Service: wait to be seated, you will be given a menu slip to fill out, you will be watered, check brought to table. Pan Fried Ground Beef Cake: I don't know about you but the name of this dish sounds like an insult you would shout while gaming, hahaha. It was a bit on the sweet side and I though I did like the pan fried outer dough, the beef cake filling didn't impress me too much. Green Onion Pancake: My favorite. Not every greasy and flavored just enough to be eaten on its own or it can easily compliment some sauce. There is satisfaction with every bite because it is crispy, flaky, and chewy. I just wish they provided more slices! The order itself is small, so if you want more, order one for yourself because if anything you can take them ToGo for later. I can snack on these all day. Jianbing Guo Zi (w/ Crisps): pretty good dish with great textures but I was not aware of the hidden spice dragon inside. I reached for the water with each bite. I'm a spice wimp so this may be fine for all you normal people out there but I was breaking a sweat on my schnoz. Don't judge me, haha. Five Spice Beef Shank: ehhhh the flavor is all there but the meat texture is like cardstock paper. I was expecting round and tender slices of cold cut beef like how most places serve. Instead, I got marinated cardstock. Not gonna lie, it tasted good but the texture just wasn't for me. Pork Xiao Long Bao Soup Dumplings: yummmm. A bit on the sweet side for me but easily fixable with the dipping sauce. I prefer soy sauce and crushing the ginger slices with my soup spoon to get out all those spicy ginger juices, haha. Gotta love slurpin' out that soup!

Sarah J.

Yelp
Food was pretty good! Loved the potstickers but did not enjoy the glass noodle soup. They brought out the orders for a group in a weird way. There were 6 of us who ordered and they brought out the entire order for a couple a our table before bringing out everyone else's after 5-10 minutes. There was also an employee who was really rude about how to use the bathroom and where to find the keys.

Mark V.

Yelp
Super good service all around Chinese food. Ambiance plus lighting all over restaurant must go.

Lydia X.

Yelp
This place is located in a pretty quiet plaza, parking was super easy. The restaurant itself had a pretty clean inside and the food was great (especially the pork xiao long bao, super juicy). Took away 1star because portion sizes are pretty small so do keep that in mind (the prices are pretty low though!) Also the dan dan noodles were very numbing, which some people like but the flavor was a bit too numbing for my liking. Overall reminded me of a knock off din tai fung (not in a bad way). Also psa they only take debit or cash!!

Lauren N.

Yelp
A more affordable ding tai Fung, but with a more mainland Chinese influence vs ding tai Fung's Taiwanese focus. I came on a Friday night at 5pm we were seated immediately. And the servers are very efficient. Once seated, we were promptly served water and given a menu. At $1.33 per soup dumpling, it is one of the cheapest option I've seen in the area. It's a solid soup dumpling, good filling, good amount of soup. What's not to like. Albeit it's not up to Ding Tai Fung's quality, specifically with the filling, it's still a good alternative. Also I think it's machine made... pork w/ crab has more flavor but if you want it soupier, pork is the way to go. Both are the same price and taste great! I'd give both a try :) The Dan Dan noodles were alright. Portion was a little small and would be enough for 1 person. The noodles were fresh and springy and the sauce was numby and good. Price-wise it's a little steep for $6.25. Kale salad with sesame dressing - perfectly cooked kale. It's very tender, yet still has a nice crunch. The sesame dressing and peanuts coat each piece so nicely, you won't even realize it's healthy for you. You get a good amount of veggies here and would get it again. Q-bao - was good, it's like a steamed bun with a slightly crunchy bottom and has a bit of soup. Also looks machine made, but the taste and texture were good. Can't go wrong with getting this item! Beef shank - a little dry, but still has a ton of flavor from the sauce. You get a good amount and is a good side dish.

Yelp
This spot doesn't differ much from other Dough Zones, so basically copying over my thoughts here. Unpopular opinion but I prefer Dough Zone over Din Tai Fung. Everything here is more standard and typical of the experience in Asia whereas DTF has non-traditional items and is basically shrimp everything. Value and variety at Dough Zone makes it my favorite. This time, I came on a Sunday night and it was very easy to get seated yet there were still a good amount of customers. Items in my most recent visit: Beef Pancake Roll, Pork w/ Crab Meat XLB, Q-Bao, Sweet & Sour Cucumber, Chicken Pot Stickers, Pork Wonton w/ Chili Sauce, and Minced Pork Noodles. Beef Pancake Roll was my favorite item and remind me of Taiwan in a way, but I think it's just the item itself. Super filling and "heavy" item that comes packed with meat. Honestly, the house specials are all very delicious. Q-Baos are another favorite and being a bao, there is a softer texture that's delicate however, the bottom is pan fried to be slightly crunchy. Minced pork noodles are my friend's favorite, which is our go-to for noodles. Xiao Long Baos are as expected, nothing wrong to comment about. Lastly, I am not a fan of regular cucumbers, but the cucumbers here hit different. They're great with other menu items (similar to the ginger + sauce combo) and are also fine on their own. Remember to ask for a knife if you don't get one, in order to cut the cucumbers into smaller pieces (they're pre-cut for aesthetic purposes, but not fully cut).

Yelp
I've been to multiple Dough Zone locations but this was my first time dining at the Overlake location a couple weeks ago. Didn't have to wait for a long time even though the place was packed during peak dinner time, all thanks to the quick and attentive service from the employees. Food quality is consistently great regardless of the location and the portion size allows for ordering multiple items off the menu.

Palli P.

Yelp
Used to really like this place but was surprised one day to learn that they had changed the ingredients used in most recipes and now are not vegetarian anymore. As a regular customer this was shocking I was not told about this while ordering on DoorDash (like I always do). Luckily I found a signboard before picking my food up. For Vegetarians, please be careful if this is important to you! As a regular customer I'm really disappointed and will probably not go again (also because now there is nothing I can eat).

Amy H.

Yelp
This is always a favorite of ours. It is super quick, insanely delicious, and a great value. Servers are nice and quick to bring you your order.

Sarai G.

Yelp
Walked in with a party for 3 around 12:30 & it was definitely busy. We waited a fee minutes to be seated. We ordered the shrimp & pork pan fried & steamed dumplings. Dan Dan noodles, Sweet & Sour cucumber. Chicken spicy wontons. Everything was delicious. The cucumber appetizer was our favorite. The noodles were good but did numb our tongue. The pan friend dumplings were our favorite from the two type of dumplings we ordered. It was on the saltier side for our taste. Food came out in a timely manner despite it being busy. Servers were polite & helpful.

Carolina B.

Yelp
First time visiting and WOW this place really activated my tastebuds! Just started my second trimester of pregnancy and I've been craving really bad some chicken dumplings I didn't went earlier to eat them because I have a Gluten intolerance and didn't find any place that sold GF dumplings. The cravings got stronger each day and I decided to take the risk & get the rash ‍ Our order: -Beef Pancake Roll : was great actually! a bit salty, but great balance! - Beef noodle stew:!this was perfectly made! Great not too salty & a lot of noodles - Chicken chili wontons: i loved this because they were different. I never had wontons like this, but the chili gave me heart burn/ my husband really enjoyed these -Chicken Steamed Dumplings : our favorite Best chicken dumplings I've ever had! -Beef steamed Dumplings : were good, but the chicken is better! My husband's favorite were: The Beef Stew, chicken dumplings & then the Chili Wontons My Favorites: Chicken Dumplings, Chili Wontons, beef pancake & then the beef stew I was disappointed that they do not have sparkling water not lemon... And when we arrived the soup chicken dumplings were sold out and the Q Bao is only for Pork when I was in the yelp menu a chicken option (I can't eat pork & its a hard pass for me- never make an exemption) Waiting for the check or to order something additional was kinda hard. The waiters did not come to our table if we didn't try to call them. Overall, the food was great and do recommend!

Marcie S.

Yelp
This was the first Dough Zone location I ever tried and it's by far my favorite. It's not the fanciest or swankiest in terms of atmosphere, but the service and the food here is the best! I've gone with coworkers, friends, and family, multiple times, and it always hits the spot - so good! Even my picky 9 year old (and adventurous 2.5 year old) smashes on their dumplings - it makes me so happy! My personal favorite is the Dan Dan Noodles - I always get one order to myself. Dough Zone is a must! They are always consistent, no surprises, and reliable in terms of satisfaction. Whether its a team lunch or date night, I suggest you stop in and give these guys a try!

Yelp
I used to prefer DZ over Din Tai Fun but ever since they moved to a central kitchen the quality has dropped significantly. It's all machine-made instead of by hand, and food prep inconsistent from location to location. So disappointed because I loved DZ. Will be going to DTF now for my dumplings-fix.

Yelp
Always a good alternative to Din Tai Fung, this restaurant has several locations and food is very consistent between them all. The Xiao Long Baos are really good but sometimes not hot enough. Their signature Q-Baos are also good. I really like the sesame dressing that comes in the vegetables you can order as a side. Dan dan noodles are also good. Food comes very quickly so you can dine in and out fast.

Yelp
I would give their food 1 start if I could! My family took a Togo order . We ordered 5 items and only got 4 in the bag. The banana pancake is burnt color black , taste like rubber. Their service and food quality are equally bad . So disappointed! We will never go back again . Thanks!

Yelp
Get their Q-Bao!! I love dumplings and noodles, and Dough Zone definitely has amazing ones. We ordered the Q-Bao, Noodles with Minced Pork, Green Onion Pancake, Pork Xiao Long Bao and Red Bean Bao. The Q-Bao was my favorite! From the first bite, there was juice oozing out. The bao was super soft but also incredibly crispy at the bottom. The Xiao Long Bao was also juicy and delicious! They had just the right amount of meat to soup ratio. I would say the Red Bean Bao had a lighter red bean flavor than I was expecting though. Overall good dinner!

Yelp
One of my go to spots for dumplings and noodles is Dough Zone. The dishes come in smaller portion sizes, which means you can have room to try more dishes! The price is reasonable and each dish is very tasty. The Q-Bao is a must try here - they're pan fried pork buns that are juicy on the inside, and soft on the outside with a crunch on the bottom. I recommend ordering the following if you check this place out: - Spicy Beef Pancake Roll - Green Onion Pancake - Q Bao - Pork Wonton w/ Chili Sauce - Dan Dan Noodle - Cold Noodle w/ Szechuan Sauce - Pork w/ Crab Xiao Long Bao

Yelp
I usually go to the dough zone in Redmond but came to this one as it was the closest. Quality of food is pretty good. Love the Dan Dan noodles and the soup dumplings. Onion pancakes was flaky and crispy. Can't go wrong with anything here.

Yelp
It's nice to now have multiple DZ's in the greater Seattle area. It eases the wait time and the long-standing Overlake location has positives including ample free parking and consistency to their orders plus everything comes out piping hot! The three items we always get are the Spicy Beef Pancake Roll with seasoned beef, lettuce, cucumber, and a spicy house sauce; crispy Pan Fried Chive Dumplings; Q Bao pan fried on the bottom yet fluffy soft on top and filled with pork and plenty of juicy soup; and the pan-fried beef cake filled with juicy seasoned ground beef. Another fav is the Mala soup noodles and this time I tried and enjoyed the Szechuan Dan Dan Noodles that is mildly spicy and numbing from the peppercorns. We filled out our order with pan fried shrimp and pork dumplings and their steamed XLB steamed pork dumplings too! The service was very good and they paid attention to making sure water cups were filled. The ambiance is lively and noise level was moderate. Overall pricing isn't that bad and expect to shell out $75-$85 (less tip) for a party of three.

Yelp
Once upon a time, Dough Zone was a solid experience every time I went, starting at the first location in Crossroad. Now, the food is just ok, never hitting the 'yay' level any more. The most disappointing thing is that I can visually see they have switched to machine made, mass produced. The dumplings are missing the twist at the top, the seal is just closed, and they are sloppy in presentation. Maybe they are used to throwing things into boxes vs. "plating" for dine-in. It's just not the same anymore. The Food: Pork with Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao, $7.50 - 3 Stars They used to be much better. Now it's just a bunch of wrinkly little sacks of moderate flavored meat requiring sauces. Sweet and Sour Cucumber, $4.95 - 4 Stars Still one of my favorite dishes here. Yum. Zucchini and Shrimp Dumplings, $5.95 - 1 Star Long time ago, when zucchini and shrimp were offered in XLB version, it was my absolute favorite. I was extremely disappointed to lay my eyes on this basket of deflated dumplings of varying sizes that isn't properly seasoned. A dumpling shouldn't rely on the sauces to be edible! A-Choy with Sesame Dressing, $5.50 - 3 Stars Other than it's drowning in dressing, this dish is fine. Q-Bao - Pan Fried Pork Buns, $8.75 - 2.5 Stars This has gone downhill. Less filling than before, barely looks like a Q-Bao at the top, sloppy plating. Vegetable Pot Stickers, $5.25 - 2.5 Stars It honestly is same as it was, as it has always lacked body and texture. But it's vegetarian... Fried Wonton with Chili Sauce, $5.25 - 2.5 Stars This dish is saved by the hot sauce. Without it, it's bland. Pan Fried Chive Dumplings, $5.95 - 3.5 Stars Still one of my favorite dishes here. But I still wish they did it the original way which was 2 big pockets instead of 3 smaller pockets. This method is doughier with less filling.

Yelp
They reached out per my previous review on bad experience with the delivery service order. They offered me to try again with a pick up order. This time everything was fine, carefully packed, no sauce leaking all over the place. Enough sauce provided on the side for the entire order. I recommend they still pay attention to carefully packing orders for delivery service as that's what many people do. The dine in, pickup and delivery experience should be consistent since we still pay the same amount (even more with delivery service). I also suggest making the chili sauce finer grain so the chilli flakes can get out of the little plastic packets (or just have oil without the flakes). I love chili flakes but couldn't get those big chunks out of those tiny packets. For now, I'd I suggest dine in our pick up yourself for best experience and food quality.

Yelp
An affordable competitor to Din Tai Fung, Dough Zone definitely gets a lot of reputation in Seattle and lives up to it. I personally really like their Q Bao because it has a nicely crisped bottom and the dough really soaks up the juice/flavor of the filling. They have a diverse menu and honestly nothing on their menu has disappointed me yet, so have fun and explore your options!

Yelp
Pretty good! Haven't been to a dumpling place in over 10 years it's fun to have lots of small courses to see what you like. The food was great and the waiters were nice. Would return.

Yelp
This little strip mall location makes it look like basic food but the buns and dumplings are so flavorful! Very efficient ordering system and quick service

Yelp
It has been a while since we last visited one of the Dough Zone locations, and there's a reason for that. I was a while ago but we went down to the Seattle location and it wasn't at all a fun experience which led us to stop going but since this was one we hadn't visited before we thought we'd give it a shot and I'm so glad we did. The restaurant is in the strip mall besides some other restaurants with ample amount of parking, so no hassle there. The place was clean, and the servers were really attentive and nice. We called for a couple of items from the menu, and all of them tasted so good. We loved the pancake wrap that was really delicious. We're going to come back to this location again for certain.

Yelp
I'm crazy a bao xiao long bao! On our trip to the PNW, we stopped in during Valentines Day weekend. Seated our group within 10 minutes; all COVID-19 procedures well in-place, including temp checks for all guests, contact tracing form, distanced and spaced out tables. Our food was delicious! The xiao long bao were delicate and filled with piping hot soup and meat; but not too thin that the soup fell out before you could place in your spoon. I also highly recommend the ah-choy with sesame dressing and dan dan noodles.

Yelp
Kids updated review: "the food is REALLY GOOD, the service is better than last time. There was a lot of people there though. I think they should add a few more staff maybe." Honestly our water was filled up most of the time so I can say it was much better service this time around ;)

Yelp
Nice variety of wantons and dumplings, atleast with chicken which we rarely find in other places in this area. Everything has too much oil in it, possibly to enhance the taste. Service is super slow so be prepared to wait ages before you get the order. Friendly for pocket

Opal D.

Yelp
The food is still fantastic but they are not generous with the chili oil in Covid world--you get one tiny soy sauce dish worth for a table of two people? I need about 10x that! Omg the bathroom situation is unacceptable. They desperately need a changing table and someone to sanitize the bathroom every couple hours. When I went in there, the counter had wet toilet paper on it. Gross.

Yelp
I recommend Dough Zone. This location is in a strip mall, but the restaurant itself is a nice space. As for the food, it is good food for a really solid price. Lastly, the service was quick. Once you place your order the food comes rolling out in tiers, leaving your table full until you finish the meal.

Yelp
The food was tasty. The environment is ok. People are nice. But the way of ordering is different. You circle the items on the menu and the waiter will pick them up. If you want to order anything after, you tell the server. Confusing
