Best U-Pick Orchards and Fruit Farms Near Portland

"Driving into this Sauvie Island spot, customers pass the original work trucks and signs from when George Douglas started the farm with his three sons. Since then, five generations of Douglas farmers have grown everything from berries to Italian plums to pumpkins. Information and the current fruit available for U-pick is listed on the farm’s website; at the time of publication, eggplants, peppers, and tomatoes were available. Pre-packaged boxes of Gravenstein apples are also available. Pets aren’t allowed at the farm, and food and drink must be left in the car." - Rachel Pinsky

Google
A beautiful farm on Sauvie Island tucked back behind corn fields and trees. I come here every summer and into fall to pick fruit, berries, and purchase fresh produce. My favorite thing is to pick peaches. Their corn is super sweet, too. There is limited parking in a gravel lot. No dogs are allowed past the parking area. The owners/staff are very friendly and helpful. #towingservicesportland Yet another great experience at Douglas Farms today. It happened to be the last day for u-pick peaches. The trees were pretty picked over, but we were still able to gather plenty of them. Again, the team there was welcoming and informative. Be careful of bees if you have an allergy as they were gathering on the fallen fruit. I should have worn closed toe shoes. Luckily, there are no stings for me.

Had such a blast picking apples with my besties! Even made a video of us doing the apple dance. Douglas farm is great for your apple picking needs! It’s first come first serve. I recommend trying to get there early as the parking lot did fill up.

Google
Beautiful and tasty produce. Kind, helpful and welcoming staff. Fair prices. I'll be going back. I canned their very sweet Douglas corn and made salsa with their meaty and large Romas.

Google
We arrived at 1:45 on Sunday to pick apples and were turned away despite their website saying they closed at 3pm. Super frustrating as this is a 40 minute drive from our house and an activity my husband was hoping to do with our 4 year old on his only day off. It is not difficult to display accurate hours.

Google
Super helpful staff, a lovely way to get out of the city for a little peace and quiet. Barely came across anyone, felt very safe, and got tons of incredible u-pick produce for only $25! A great little day out :)

Google
We’ve been to Douglas Farms 2x now. Once to pick raspberries and Marion berries in July. Our latest visit to pick peaches. Both times the berries and 🍑s looked and tasted excellent — colorful, sweet and oh so juicy! I’ve never picked raspberries or peaches before — it was sure fun! The customer service at Douglas Farms is excellent - they are helpful and the humans here smile and make light conversation when you check out. They make you feel welcome and are genuinely excited.

Google
My favorite U-pick place in the Portland area. This is a 5th generation family farm, and you can tell by how established all of the plants are. The trees are as beautiful as the fruit. The berries are huge, and delicious. They have multiple rows of Blackberry, Marionberry, Red Raspberry, Golden Raspberry, and Boysenberry. The Marionberries are amazing! The only way the Red Raspberries get any better is if you pick them right off the riverbank somewhere in Oregon. The Gravenstein Apples make the best juice! They have several varieties of peaches, and they all make a great jam if you pick too many!

Yelp
During my visit to Portland from California, this pumpkin patch was by far the best one I experienced. We went on Friday evening, October 11, arriving at 6:15 PM. Parking was easy and free, and while the patch was busy, it didn't feel overly crowded. We purchased tickets for both the regular and haunted corn mazes. Although the ticket prices seemed a bit steep at first, we ultimately felt they were well worth it. Both mazes were long and entertaining, with the haunted maze featuring live monsters and impressive props. Everything was well organized, and I absolutely loved the experience!

Yelp
Fun! Animals! Pumpkins! We love making our annual Pilgrimage to Sauvie Island for all things autumn: great pumpkin prices. Carmel apples the size of a soft ball. Bring the family and don't forget the pooch.

Yelp
Meh. Not sure if we came too late in the season but everything was picked out and the berries were not very tasty. Including blueberries and blackberries. Also, really hard to pick the cucumbers because of the overgrown weeds. Picked some zucchini...$0.5 for small, $1 for large. Berries and peaches are $3.50 a pound. Our least favorite farm. It is pretty though. And a lot of variety.

Yelp
This was such a fun addition to our trip to Portland! Some of the best blueberries I've had, and I don't even like blueberries that much. They were ripe and fresh, and were super sweet and juicy. The workers were very nice and in addition to the farm and island being very pretty, they have a very laid back, family feel and some retro vibes. Would definitely come back when I'm in Portland again!

Yelp
I haven't been strawberry picking since the Willamette Valley replaced there fields with vineyards and I forgot how much fun it is. Strawberry's are so much sweeter and rewarding when you pick your own. $10 a pound for organic fresh strawberries:) We picked enough to make dessert and jam. Will definitely be back next season.

Yelp
Best place for fruit around and they make checkout and finding fruit easy I also appreciate that they have carts to take into the field

Yelp
While visiting my oldest two, I begged them to relive their childhood with me a go berry picking as this is not one of the amazing activities you can do when you live in Hawaii (I know, your heart bleeds for me). Despite me "making" them go, we all had a great time and picked 3, ate one, picked 3, ate one and so on and so on and so on until our bellies and our boxes were full of berries. At this visit (mid-July) there were many varieties of red raspberries, blueberries, and yellow raspberries ($3/lb), a bouquet of flowers (50 cents to $1 a stem), and the freshest green beans ($1.50/lb). Other veggies and herbs were also available. The garden is surrounded by rolling hills and backed by snow capped mountains. Just beautiful! Less than 30 minutes outside of the city, but a world away.

Yelp
First time picking at this farm and we had a fun experience. We came here to specifically pick peaches. Some things we learned: 1) Go early! Peaches were nearly gone and there were a lot of people there already - we arrived around ~11:30am 2) Check Facebook regularly for openings, fruit/veggie availability, and updates 3) Check their website for pricing information Free parking and admission. Parking was plentiful, maybe a little dusty as it is not on paved road. Pay for what you picked; $2/lb for peaches. Some peaches roughly weigh about a pound each. You can pay with cash or card. They provided cardboard boxes and you may use their little cart to wheel around. It was well organized and structured with signs for the ripen varieties, while others were taped off. This was a fun family event and we do not mind coming here again next year!

Yelp
So much fun! Going on a weekday afternoon was great, fields were empty & a huge bargain. Call in advance to hear their message on what fruits are ready for harvesting.

Yelp
Visited here today and picked out our 2020 Christmas tree. This seemed to be one of the few places open this early, ie before Thanksgiving, and we had to arrange our visit directly with farmer Vicky via the number provided on the website. We were the only ones there, which was great in terms of avoiding covid contagion. This also meant that we had to do it ALL on our own -- bring our own saw and measuring tape for appropriate pricing and get the tree up on top of the car and secured properly. Happy to say we diy'd it 100% successfully and now have a deliciously smelling tree up in our living room. Prices are great if you're looking to buy a smallish tree. We saw a lot of noble firs (at least 80% of the selection) and came home with a grand fir, and there are doug firs there too but not many that I saw. Sizes all over the place and skewing v small and v tall. Docking a star since we did have to look a while to find a tree without a sizeable blemish, although could be I'm pretty picky. Fun walking around the property though! It's groomed and easily the least muddiest tree chopping experience we've had in the area, despite all the recent rain.

Yelp
Experienced their u-pick strawberries here a couple months back and it was great! Lots of fun with a great open field. It was a curious surprise to find Mount Hood as a wonderful backdrop beyond the field. Definitely a lot of bending and kneeling but a fun experience nonetheless. Was able to harvest a nice box load of strawberries. A great place to pick from when the berries are in season.

Yelp
On the way to Sauvie Island, my sister Jennifer decided to stop here. I was skeptical due to time but came to love the decision afterwards. Who knew picking (and eating) fresh berries could be therapeutic? How it works: get a box or bring your own (recommended), pick what you want in the fields, bring it back and weigh; then pay based on weight. We got a nice combo of yellow berries, blackberries (my favorite), raspberries, blueberries, and some kale. A combined 4 pounds for around $10. So much better than going to the store and the berries were ripe and juicy! Made for a great snack as we continued to Sauvie Island! Glad she decided to stop; sometimes listening to little sister pays off!

Yelp
Took my grandkids blackberry picking. It was a little warm but we still had fun & made great memories! They had beautiful large sunflowers! We also drove across the street to their peach farm and enjoyed being over there. Everyone was very friendly & informative.

Yelp
We picked strawberries 4days ago. The fields are close to the parking lot, which makes it easy for families. They have Hood and shuksan Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Yelp
We had a lot of fun blueberry picking here! The blueberries were plump, juicy, and sweet. The raspberries were not as sweet though. I noticed that there are also a variety of vegetables for picking. I did not try any of their vegetables, but would have would to. The farm is pretty big, so I definitely recommend spending a few hours here if one wants to take home an assortment of berries and veggies. Note: This farm is not organic.

Yelp
We came here for a u-cut Christmas tree. Great customer service, everyone was so nice and helpful. You don't need to bring tools with you, they provide saws and carts for free. The farm is on several acres. The tree choices are Douglas, Grand and Noble. Their prices are VERY affordable and you can download a $5-off coupon from their website. If you have never cut your own tree before, be prepared for a good workout! Sawing is much, much harder than it looks!!! For an additional fee (not much $) you can have them mechanically shake your tree and/or wrap it. I left my tree with the attendant to shake it, then went to the tent to pay. (I didn't get the tree wrapped, only paid to have it shaken.) When we got home and pulled the tree out, the back of my SUV was covered in fir needles...HUNDREDS of needles...when we took it inside and set it up in the stand, HUNDREDS more needles fell off!!! So, I'm pretty sure they didn't actually shake my tree!!!! I don't think it was intentional, I think they just forgot to put it on the shaker machine. It left me with a huge mess to clean up in my vehicle and my house :( They have hot beverages and holiday baked treats for sale in the "pay here" tent. Very friendly customer service overall.

Yelp
A perfect getaway for when you have out of town guests. I brought two Japanese friends here to pick fresh berries and then took them home and made jam. Everyone had such a nice day. The farm hands were very considerate and took a few minutes to assist with maps and picking options. A full assortment of vegetables fruits and flowers you'll certainly find something in season. So happy to find this place and will certainly return soon. Smarter customers bring their own totes and wagons as hauling 15 lbs of berries can get heavy over time.

Yelp
This place is so magical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The corn maze is the best I've seen in my life and it's really challenging if you play the trivia game without using google to answer the questions. Well kept and clean pumpkin patch and a beautiful sunflower field. I've come here every year in the past 3 years and each time the memories spent in the corn maze has been so special to me. Me and my husband took our 6 month old baby there and she even enjoyed the corn maze! The food is amazing ( try their corn on the cob!) and the animals are so cute. You can get cute souvenirs as well from the gift shop. I just gotta say, don't waste your time going to any other place. It's worth the drive for such wonderful memories. I would give this place a 7 star if I could.

Yelp
Fun outing!! We started with just one box but quickly went back to the front for another. $40 for all these yummy berries! Tons of varieties!
google avatar

Yelp
Had such a fun time, we went on July 1 and were able to pick from abundant Raspberry & Blueberry patches, we even caught the tail end of strawberry season. Tip: trails can be dusty and every so often a mud puddle. It is a farm so keep that in mind for your kids clothing. Will return on our next trip through PDX and the Columbia River Hwy.
google avatar

Paul N.

Yelp
Delicious blueberries are ready for picking and their raspberry season is just starting !!! The staff is super friendly and they have a bunch of different produce you can pick yourself. Definitely a fun trip for the family ! Make sure you eat the raspberries the day of picking or the day after or be prepared to make some jam (which we did)

Yelp
Fun times on the pumpkin patch! Feeling festive with the fall season upon us so took the drive to beautiful Sauvie island. Many farms to choose from which is nice. We tried a different one from last and loved the variety of attractions. The "maize" was good wholesome fun while the hay ride took us thru part of the farm to see just how big the pumpkin patch is. Picked a few very large jacks to take Home as a momento :)
google avatar

Janna Z.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to pick on the island. Absolutely rows and rows of delicious luscious berries! The prices are ridiculously fair and you can pick for hours and fill your wagon! This is an amazing opportunity to show your children where their food comes from and see the beauty in standing shoulder deep in berries. You can pick fresh vegetables and then cut a dinner table bouquet. Plan to spend a significant amount of time wandering the rows, picking, laughing and creating memories. A day well spent. You are welcome ;)
google avatar

Yvonne W.

Yelp
Definitely go and bring the right tools, gears, and wear the right outfits :) This place is amazing! If you love to harvest fresh veggies and fruits... this place could be heavenly. We were driving by so didn't actually anticipate going to harvest berries so obviously were not well equipped. I definitely see this place as an entire morning outing where you can enjoy harvesting the vegetables and fruits of your liking. In mid- July the berries were amazing and the strawberries that I harvested from Sauvie were the sweetest ever. I highly recommend this place for those of you that haven't been. Bring a small wagon for the kids if you have kids because this might just be a perfect Sunday morning outing.

Yelp
I visited while in Portland for an internship. Probably my favorite discoveries and activities to do, only about 20 minutes from the city! Such a wonderful farm with tons of produce, this place stole my heart. I ended up visiting 3x. Since it is such a wide open farm with tons of acreage, it was definitely covid friendly and nice quiet getaway from the city. They don't have farms like this in Texas.
google avatar

Melissa F.

Yelp
This was really fun! Really easy to get to from Portland, i can't remember how much we paid but it depends on how much pick. The people there were really friendly! I would go again if i lived anywhere nearby!
google avatar

Yelp
Wanting to stay away from the hussling produce aisle of your grocery? Wanting some fresh air, appreciate nature and at the same time not seeing old naked people while picking berries? (Yes, this is far from the nude beach) Well, this is just the place for you! Check out their website for operating hours and what's in season. The farm is big for you to meander and pick fresh produce to your heart's content. Does flowers tickle your fancy? Yes they have them as well. A $1 antique hay wagon ride will surely save your feet from getting dusty. A word of advice to everyone. They frown on eating the fruits before you pay for them. Please be considerate and pay before you eat those delicious fruits. Hmmmm.... Life's a peach.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
This is a great place for the kids and family. Wear rubber boots as is very muddy at times. They have expanded the parking lot so expect large crowds and a walk. They have pumpkins of course and so much more. They have food hot dogs, grilled cheese, hot sandwiches, ice cream, and coffee. They have a corn maze, country store with fresh corn on the cob, frozen fruit pies. We saw a bald eagle chasing a great white egret across the sky.

Yelp
Sauvie Island Blueberries farm rocks! This place is so close to central Portland! Within half an hour Greg and I had made our way from NE Portland to Sauvie (pronounced Sauvies.) They gave us buckets for picking and off we went to join the other folks amongst the bushes. I found the exercise to be totally meditative and enjoyable. Greg and I had deep conversations about life and love whilst scanning the bushes for the best berries. The best ones seem to be close to the trunk, lower to the ground. Choose the plumpest, darkest ones you can find but apparently size doesn't matter. Our deep thoughts were occasionally interrupted by the kids (singing, farting, and fighting.) It was more amusing than anything =) I think this is a great place for friends, families, kids, and you! The harvest season is from July to September so get out there and have fun! Oh, I almost forgot to mention - they're absolutely delicious! And I have more than enough to give away to my friends AND eat! Combine it with a picnic, sunbathing, and a dip in the Columbia River and you've got a pretty great day!

Boris T.

Yelp
The farm itself is nice and neat, but the stuff is rude and unwelcoming. The lady at the stand literally started screaming at us when we were a bit surprised by her trying to charge us $1 per per peony bloom, counting even "blooms" that were size of a peanut. In other words, a stem would cost $4-5. No, thank you; next time we will go to some other place, where prices are fair, and the people are polite. For example, Columbia Farms in the same area.
google avatar

Tanya A.

Yelp
This was our 1st time here. We'll be back! It was an excellent experience especially for the kids!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great fresh veggies and fruits, but had car broken into.... what a surprise for such a nice outing to be messed up by some idiots who cannot stay away from other people's property!!! Not like Portland!!

Yelp
So much fun!! And so much FOOD! Seriously if you want to get a bunch of delicious, healthy, home grown food for extremely cheap- put your back into it and head over to Sauvie Island Farms. I brought my coworkers/friends here for the first time last summer and we just went HAM on the berry area. We came home with a copious amount of berries, zucchini, cauliflower, cucumbers, peaches, apples, etc. They offer a variety of fruits and veggies! It's great for kids as well. They can haul around their own little wagon and fill boxes upon boxes with healthy foods. What better way to get your kid to eat their greens, am I right?

Claire Q.

Yelp
Went for peach and berry picking this weekend. Blueberry are very sweet with a fresh meadow scent. Peach orchards are merged in sweet and fruity aroma. So many peach are ripe already and feel on the groundwish could take all of them home

Damian L.

Yelp
Sauvie has been our tradition for 25 years, now. My kids are in the mid to late twenties and we still go every year. The pumpkin patch never disappoints. We appreciate the free hayride and visiting the farm animals. Lots of food choices and beautiful flower garden. Parking is simple and clean. And the corn maze never disappoints. We also enjoy looking at the cabbage and brussle sprouts fields.

Yelp
Best experience, wonderful selection. What more can I say, very great prices, so fun, perfect way to spend a birthday.

Yelp
We went for our first time and this weekend and will absolutely be back. The prices were amazing and the produce was absolutely worth our hour drive. The kids had a wonderful time as well as my parents, there is something for everyone

Yelp
Yay! Farms! Fruits! Vegetables! DIY! Came here on a date with the lady friend and its was very enjoyable, especially since we both like the outdoors and are the adventurous type. I decided to get away from the city and decided we could go to some farms and get some fruit the fruit that she liked, strawberries! It was about a 20 minute trip from the city! When we got there it was overcast skies so we were scared it would rain but luckily it didn't! There isn't really a parking lot so just park in the little designated space provided and remember to bring your valuables! We were greeted by a little old lady asking if we needed directions to what we were looking for and if we needed something to hold our fruits/veggies, we said yes to both and she gave us directions and also a brown box to hold everything. We had a short walk and found a large field of what we were looking for, which was strawberries! We spent about a little over an hour and got 4lbs worth of them and only paid 6 dollars! Lots of fun, recommend to any who wants to have a little fun outdoors and wants some berries!

Melissa D.

Yelp
Amazing!!! We got a full slate of marionberries and a of blueberries. This place is so beautiful. We didn't get any vegetables but there are various vegetables and flowers. It was nice to walk around the grounds and pick our own fruit. We will be back for peaches! Wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

Yelp
We got our Christmas tree at Sauvie Island Farms this year. It's a cut-it-yourself farm, which in my opinion is the only way to go. Seriously, this is the Pacific Northwest. Duh. Trees are growing all over the freaking place. Why would anybody buy a dried-up, incendiary device of a tree at Uncle Schmoe's rip-off tree lot, when you can drive fifteen minutes out of town and get a super-fresh, fresh-cut tree? It's like living in Maine and making lobster rolls out of Surimi. This tree farm is very well-appointed. They have saws at the ready, plenty of tree-toting carts, a net wrapping contraption, and you can bring your dog along to help pick out just the right tree. Bring the whole family and make a tradition out of hunting down the perfect tree. We did come home with a pretty nice tree. Not too small--not too big. We had a tough time choosing, but finally picked the grand Grand over the noble Noble Fir. It sure looks and smells like Christmas in my living room right about now. Just at tip for my fellow uncoordinatios: When you're taking down that perfect tree, keep your non-sawing hand out of the way of your sawing hand. Squirting streams of steamy blood can put a damper on that whole holiday spirit thing--I'm just sayin'. Although my arm did look like a giant candy cane for awhile there. Ugh, I'm getting woozy just thinking about it. Anyway, despite the mishap, we all had a great time tree hunting. We'll be back next year.

Yelp
Wanted strawberries. Friends wanted strawberries. Friends have a car. Friends picked me up on Saturday morning. We drove out to Sauvie Island. We drove to Sauvie Island Farms. We picked strawberries. We brought them to the cashier for weighing. I picked 7 lbs (really?). My friends picked over 30 lbs. They were only $1.50/lb We left. We came home and had french toast with strawberries. Everything I will be eating for the next few weeks will have with strawberries at the end of it. I have strawberries coming out of my ears. I like strawberries and therefore I like Sauvie Island Farms.

Yelp
What a great way to get some great quality fruits and veggies! Basically you pull up and park in the lot. You go in and let them know what you are looking for - they will point the way and give you boxes etc - then you go off and pick your own. I have picked peaches and blackberries here - the quality cannot be beat hands down! The prices are pretty incredible as well. Get there early though - I regretably caught the tale end of peach season this year - their trees really do have some of the best peaches I have ever had!

Yelp
This was my 1st stop in Portland besides the PDX airport. I had reserved a charming 1920's duplex via airbnb and I wanted to have fresh produce in the kitchen for when I got up in the mornings to complete my mental picture of charm and kitschy sweetness. After climbing in my rental car I headed here. To get here you have to drive up the 30 highway and take the bridge on to Sauvie Island. Sauvie Island is known for it's quaint homes, nude beaches and a plethora of pick-your-own produce and fruit farms. To get to Sauvie Island Farms you have to drive to the back end of the small island. You can bring your own containers to put your fresh picked stuff in but be sure to have them weigh the container before filling with food so that they can back out the weight when calculating the cost of your food. Most all of the produce is charged by the pound. If you want to pay $.75 you can purchase a box top from them to fill your stuff in plus they have plastic bags for veggies for free. The farm has a ton of options of things to pick but the season will make a big difference. Because Sauvie Island Farms is very popular you will need to get here at the beginning of your chosen fruit/vegetable's season to get the best selection otherwise it will be picked over, pun intended. I really wanted blueberries but being the end of August I just missed the season. Same went for raspberries. But what I did arrive in time for were the blackberries. Right on time! The bushes were thorn free, a relief from what I grew up picking on my grandmother's farm as a child in Texas. The berries were fat and ripe and I became so crazed in filling my box top with blackberries that my fingers and palms were stained purple for the next couple of days. I also walked the fields and fields of produce where they had fresh corn, tomatoes, lettuce, zucchini, onions, various forms of peppers and so much more. Your view while walking will be of the mountains in the background and water off the island. They still had some fresh flowers and some pears left though that season was pretty much done too. Up the road is their peach tree farm where you can pick your own peaches. I was due to check into my duplex and get to a concert at the zoo so I didn't have a chance to pick any peaches but next time! Picking your own fruits and veggies can be time consuming but so rewarding. This is a great exercise for kids. Many people brought their kids. You can pull a wagon to carry your stuff as your arms will get tired walking around with all the fruits and veggies you will pick. Sauvie Island Farms is quite large so get ready to walk. The prices are really great! I am really in love with this place and so grateful that they exist. Here's to many more years for Sauvie Island Farms!

Yelp
Yay! The corn is not for cows, but even if it was I would still eat it because it's that good. Here's a tip I learned, look under the branches for the best peaches and you will be very happy. I just got 11 lbs for $11. They have picnic tables and you can picnic either before or after your harvest, while looking out over the fields of flowers. The workers are very helpful and are quick to point you in the right direction for whatever you are looking for. They even offer tractor rides!

My new go-to spot for all manner of berries! We came out here 2 weeks ago with my swell pal, Anne B. The boys + their respective grown up units picked about 10 pounds of strawberries. These were quickly whisked away & made into all sorts of jam. Outdoing ourselves this last week, we came here & managed to come away with about 13 pounds of the most luscious raspberries ever seen! They are all now residing in various jams, syrups, chutneys & elixirs for the winter when I long to have a taste of summer. The people here are friendly, helpful, & will point you in the right direction. I have not been overly impressed with the flower selection, but I'm here for the berries!! I'll be out here next week pillaging the marionberry situation! Prices are fair, there are boxes if you do not have your own containers, and the farm itself is beautiful. By all means, forgo getting berries at the market! Who knows how long they have been sitting around?? Plus, there are always squishy ones at the bottom. Get out in the sunshine & pick some of these babies now! Summer's short, but the taste can be saved & savored all winter!!

Yelp
I come from a land out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean where pineapples, mangoes, and papayas grow. Of course, it's not like peaches, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are unheard of here. You see them in Hawaii, but always in a supermarket produce section, having come from somewhere else. So for me, to actually get up close and personal with a peach or berry, in season, still on the bush or tree, touch it, and pull it off the tree or bush into a basket to take with you...it's an experience. On my last trip to Portland two years ago, I went up with a friend of mine - we, along with my friend's daughter, were part of a team doing the Hood to Coast Relay. She took us out to Sauvie Island Farms, right when the peaches were coming into season. We had a lot of fun that afternoon picking peaches off the trees and blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries off the bush. I could swear that they had every fruit and vegetable imaginable (well, those that grow in temperate climates, that is). The owners were friendly and helpful. And we had peach cobbler until it came out of our ears during our stay. We had a lot of fun and I'd definitely come back here given the chance.

Yelp
We went here today for a Christmas tree and were exceptionally disappointed. Many of the trees were already dying....there's no way these trees are going to survive another 4 weeks. Not only this, but a ton of the trees are way too big.....great for restaurants and hotels but impractical for families. Prices are good (4$/ft for Douglas fir, $6/ft for noble) but overall not worth it. Environment was nice - great place to go with the family for hot cocoa and a walk through Christmas trees, but overall not a great place to purchase a tree from. We ended up going to Home Depot and found many perfect trees!

Yelp
Thanks to Sauvie Island farms, I now have 7 pints of marionberry jam, 2 pints of peach jam, gallons of frozen blueberries, and even some pickles put away for the winter. Granted, they just provided the fruit, and I did the hard work of cooking and canning. And picking the stuff. OK, so maybe I did most of the work, but they still deserve 5 stars because I was there 3 times this summer in as many weeks and the only reason I didn't go back more was because I would have turned blue from eating all those berries. Their stuff is pretty cheap and it's really fun to go out with your friend(s) for some wholesome fruit picking. I'd recommend going earlier in the day when it's overcast or a little misty. They're less busy and you don't get too hot or sunburnt while hauling in your berries. The cardboard boxes that they provide don't hold up very well to wetness, but they do OK if you don't have designated berry-picking buckets. In addition to their fruit, they also have a good selection of vegetables, and this is THE place to go for you-pick cabbage. Seriously, acres and acres of cabbage. More cabbage than berries. I don't know who is buying all this cabbage, but Sauvie Island farms is their heaven. They also have very pretty you-cut flowers, including lots of colors of dahlias. I think it would be so fun to have a pre-wedding bridesmaids outing to cut flowers for the bouquets, if you're into that kind of DIY thing. Or you could just come to have a flower cutting party because pretty flowers!
