Divine. Brunch was incredible and some of the best French toast we have ever tasted (which says a lot) as self-proclaimed foodies :)) The fish and grits arrived and honestly I thought it would be average - thinking how over the top can “fish and grits be?” Well it was over AND beyond those thoughts. The atmosphere is regal with chic decor, plush seating surrounded by sophistication. Highly recommended for the elite.

We recently celebrated my wife's birthday at Doves, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we started making reservations, the host, Raven, went above and beyond to accommodate our party. Her warm hospitality truly set the tone for the evening. Our servers, Orlando and JV, were attentive and friendly, ensuring that our needs were met throughout the night. The food was delicious, and they offered great recommendations. The DJ created an excellent atmosphere, playing a mix of music that kept the vibe lively and enjoyable. The entire place was very clean, which added to our comfort. Definitely recommend

Overall, my experience at Dove was truly delightful; the ambiance of the place is simply breathtaking. However, I did encounter a minor issue with the upstairs area. The space felt cramped, making it challenging for the waitstaff to navigate while taking orders, which resulted in a somewhat uncomfortable atmosphere. Our waitress, though eager to please, was understandably flustered as she navigated through the bustling crowd, especially with more experienced waitstaff continually squeezing past her. As for the drinks, although I'm not typically a big drinker, the cocktail I opted for—known as Riding Dirty—was absolutely fantastic. The flavors were vibrant, although I would suggest they use more dry ice for that dramatic effect, as the small pellet they used didn't quite create the visual spectacle I was hoping for. Now, let’s talk about the food. The gumbo dumpling was, without a doubt, the star of the show—an exquisite blend of flavors and textures that left me utterly impressed. So much so, that I ordered an extra to savor later at home. All things considered, I would rate this restaurant an 8 out of 10. For my next visit, I think I'll choose to sit downstairs for a more comfortable experience.

Beautiful restaurant! The food is AMAZING!!! Some of the best food that I have had in Houston. Definitely a 10/10 and I highly recommend!!! The staff was personable and friendly. My only issue is the MUSIC. It was TOO LOUD! My husband and I were literally screaming at each other to have a conversation. That was disappointing. Please, please lower the music and you will achieve perfection. Patrons shouldn’t have to loose their voice screaming just to communicate. It doesn’t have to be that loud for guests to enjoy it. Yes, I will be back because those lamb chops and greens were delicious!!! Bomb!!!!

All five stars were given and certainly earned in ALL services. Dove’s restaurant offers a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The choice of colors and fabrics are inviting, yes, the aesthetics and ambiance matter! ♡ Oh and the food! As soon as I opened my menu, it was nearly impossible to choose just one entree—so I ordered two and WOW, everything was prepared to perfection! Now, I’ve been to more luxury restaurants than one can count .. but I simply must give Doves their flowers. Well done! I will certainly be returning and recommending you all to others.

I had such an amazing time at Doves. 1st impression was everything. From the aesthetic and welcoming ambiance, to our sweet, attentive, charismatic Nina. She made sure we were comfortable and our food was not cold! Very delicious, great portions. I will most definitely come back for another bday celebration or girls night out!

Yelp
I dined here for a friend's birthday dinner. The parking was inconvenient. There is street parking, but not close or safe to park and walk. Valet is $15 and they ask for a tip when paying upon leaving. It is hard to leave the parking lot, because the cars that cannot fit in the small parking lot are parallel parked on both sides of the street making it a one way street when leaving. The restaurant is small, two levels, and patio dining. The restrooms are unisex and there is a male bathroom attendant. He provides you soap and a paper towel for drying your hands. There are mints, gum, and mouthwash for use. I am not sure if it is complimentary or a charge. There is a jar for tips. The standard restroom stalls are small. Your knees touch the door when sitting. The restaurant decor is nice and chic with warm lighting throughout. The stairs to get to the second floor is slippery. There is no elevator for handicapped patrons dining on the second floor. Once on the second level there is a DJ who was playing good music that night. The upstairs is narrow and gives an intimate dining feel. There also was a costumed dancer on a platform downstairs that night. My friend had reservations for 8:45pm on a Saturday. We waited for an hour before being seated. We had to continue to ask for an update on our table at the hostess stand. They kept saying they were waiting for a large party to leave. Therefore, I am not sure if there is a dining time limit of 2hrs here. People kept coming in who did not appear to have reservations and were being seated before us. Once seated our waitress was friendly and efficient. Her name was Unique. We ordered various dishes for the table gumbo, general Wilson's wings, étouffée wonchos, orange chicken, hoisin smokehouse ribs, and Brussel sprouts. The gumbo in some of the women's opinion was watery and lacking flavor. The orange chicken batter was too thick. The Brussel sprouts were dry and could use more sauce. The étouffée wonchos were lacking flavor. The best dishes were the wings and the ribs. The dishes were pricey especially entrees. Overall taste of the food, price, parking, restroom, and dining experience I rate this restaurant a 3. I personally would not go back.

Yelp
A few girlfriends of mine came into town during the week. They chose Doves as a belated birthday celebration for me. Location was easy to find. Street parking can be a bit hard to find, so I opted to do the valet parking for $15. It was basically just a small parking lot where you park yourself, but just pay and leave your keys with the attendant. It was a short walk to the front of the building to get into the restaurant, so that was nice. Food wise we chose to start with the shrimp appetizer and we all liked it. Good flavor and good shrimp size. For entrees, I did the salmon. It was a little on the dry side but flavors were good. My friends did the lamb chops, sea bass, and the orange chicken. The lamb chops were great, the sea bass was some of the best I've had, and the orange chicken looked fantastic. For drinks, I did an espresso martini and the Christa Dior which were both great. My friends did some sort of mocktail and they both loved it. The decor is really cute, music is just right, and the service was amazing. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The other female employees were also just as friendly/sweet. Would definitely come back to try a few other items and their brunch menu looks really good. They surprised us at the end with a complimentary slice of bday cake and a bday song which I appreciated. The cake was actually really good and I would order it next time.

Yelp
We went for Valentine's Day so they were only offering a breakfast buffet for $75 pp but it came with two alcoholic beverages as well. The food was pretty good. I'd say a 7.5 out of 10. The eggs could've been scrambled a bit softer but that's just my preference. The shrimp and grits were amazing along with the fried chicken wings. The service was amazing, it's a pretty intimate restaurant but not busy at the time. The restrooms are clean and decorated nicely with plenty of photo ops. The drinks were good too! Not super strong but decent enough. You can tell they're fairly new which I did take into consideration. Parking is $15 unless you find street parking. Overall, I would return to try their dinner.

Yelp
***New Restaurant alert*** Perfect for date night or girls night. It's downtown so we already know the parking situation.. 15 to valet or Uber. When you walk in you are greeted by the sweetest smiling faces and the lead you behind the curtain. Behind the curtain is the cutest ambiance coupled up with a dj. We made reservations and were sat right away. We ordered the gulf coast and the side car because that's my drank. The side car was good..but I loved the gulf coast so I changed it up. The shrimp appetizer was awesome! I had the salmon and he had the thick pork chop. Both were very good. The mac was sooo good. The Brussels were a little too crispy tho. That's my only complaint. Our waitress name was Bolboa I think..or aka Lashon. She was great. It is a BO restaurant with an Asian fusion twist. Loved the concept and will be back soon..like actually...really soon.

Yelp
The interior of Dove in Houston is absolutely beautiful, and the ambiance is on point--well, except for the random girl dancing on the table off-beat, which felt a bit out of place. Other than that, it's a vibe. As for the food, the mac and cheese was underwhelming, lacking flavor--more of a 5/10 for me. For context, I'm Black, and I like my food seasoned. The wings also fell short, tasting like pre-cooked air fryer wings--another 5/10. Honestly, I expected more given the prices. On the brighter side, the drinks were fantastic! The espresso martini was a solid 8/10. The salmon was decent but a bit too salty because of the teriyaki sauce--I'd give it a 7/10. Service was hit or miss. The bartenders were amazing, super attentive, and on top of things. However, the table service was disappointing. My party of five had to flag down our server multiple times just to place orders, and no one checked on us during the meal. Overall, it's a visually stunning spot with great drinks, but the food and service leave room for improvement.

Yelp
Compliments are to the chef. Celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary here. Worth it. Oxtails were full meaty and delightful. Wow to whatever chef was there on this evening . My server Sabrina was attentive and quick, the appetizer was Delicious, my husband didn't finish his meal as he was too busy eating mine. Chocolate cake was delectable. Verbatim comments : " this food tastes likes it was cooked by a mature adult " "Chef wanted you to fall in love with them " There's no way they will get the appetizer, entree AND dessert right " Pros; Food Atmosphere Wontons Yakamein Oxtails Dessert Bathroom attendant Cons: unisex bathrooms Server table confusion. MATURE ADULTS WELCOME .

Yelp
So I'm conflicted...food was great, however my server and her customer service killed my experience!!! So Unique was our server, it took her a while to come to greet us, bring water, take our order, and we could never find her as she was always seen mingling with co-workers at the bar. I ordered an appetizer, which did not come quickly; instead it came out with my meal. I selected my meal based off other yelp photos, which the flavor did not disappoint me at all!!! However, after my food came out I noticed that I was missing the boiled egg cut in half, like the menu and other photos had. When asked about it, Unique said that they ran out of eggs!!!! I had been waiting 20-30 minutes, and for no one to say hey we are missing something did not make me happy. A manager came to the table apologized, then said she would adjust the bill. A few minutes later, Unique comes out with half of an egg, not a whole egg!!!! I completed my meal, when the bill came Unique had add 20% (when asked about it, she said if the table of 5 orders over $200 total, even if one bill is $75 they add 20% to each bill!! ). When asked about the adjustment, she said per the manager, since they gave me half an egg (not the whole egg) there would be no adjustment! The flavor of my dish and the atmosphere was amazing, however the service does need help!

Yelp
My friend and I decided to pop in for happy hour and it was a breath of fresh air! Although my friend had been, she could stop talking about how good her experience was even better this most recent time. The head guy( I forget his name) was passionate about service and made us feel right at home over a plate of oxtails! The manager also was extremely nice and personable. And omg yallllll, the red snapper! It has me hooked. It was a great start to my weekend! I'll be back!

Yelp
New restaurant on the Houston scene providing an Asian creole fusion mix. The decor here is amazing!! You can tell they put a lot of thought into it but the space is small. I don't have anything negative to say about our waitress she was fine but you could tell she was new. Our drinks were good and the food was just ok in my opinion. Def recommend everyone to give Doves a try.

Yelp
Went to Doves for Saturday brunch. Great vibe. Great food. The service was excellent as well. Loved the ambience. The food was fresh and hot. Drinks were on point. The DJ was nice played a nice selection of music. It was a great first time experience

Yelp
I'm torn yall, i don't know which way to go with this place. We came as a party of 6 for a birthday dinner. The waiter was outstanding and some of the food was really good. The issues arise with the physical layout of the building which is pretty small, the music was loud at times and the price for what you are getting is high. We ordered the wings which were ehh. The lobster and crab rice as a appetizer which was really good. I also had the snapper, it was really really good and seasoned well. It came with dirty rice which was actually the lobster and crab rice again. It also came with greens which was utterly disgusting and overpowering with vinegar. The waiter didn't offer to swap it out he just said ok. I was pretty full by then so I wasn't tripping but I still had to pay for some nasty greens. I didn't order any drinks but my friends said they were really good. I tasted the oxtail yamen and it tasted greasy with spaghetti noodles. They had an awkwardly placed dancer that came out from time to time. The dancer was only flinging her arms and not realy doing a specific type of dance, more like moving to the beat. I wouldn't classify this place as upscale, only the price but overall it's another place just to try. I wouldn't come back but I wouldn't discourage anyone to go. It's just not my vibe. The price is high and for that amount everything should shine not just a few things throughout the dinner.

Meley G.

Yelp
If you're looking for a great dine-in spot in Houston, Doves Restaurant is it. The vibe is classy and music is great along with the food is crazy good, and the service is top-tier. I had the Miso glazed salmon, and they did not disappoint. My friend had the lamb chops and it was next-level. Plus, the cocktails? AMAZING. Whether it's a date night or just a night out with friends, this place is a must-visit.

Yelp
Service was the absolute best. From the hosts, servers, and management, everyone is very intentional and thoughtful about providing an amazing experience. Drinks were excellent. Food: Smokehouse Doublecut Pork chop and 5-cheese Mac & cheese were as decadent as they sound. Had high hopes for the lollipop chicken wings, they were just a little dry. Seabass is one of my favorites, so was excited to try it, but wouldn't order it again. Overall, fun & unique, I'd definitely recommend! If you like a good bday table celebration...this is the place!

r b.

Yelp
Relatively uniquely engaging part of this place is the ambiance decor and shrimp n grits. We will absolutely never return. Service is extremely slow and lacks attention to detail (no utensils provided for over 15 min after main course was served). They ran out of critical ingredients for some dishes too and still attempted to charge full amount. We ordered turkey bacon as a substitute and the waiter told us she thinks it tastes terrible and opted to jusy not bring it out at all... we were taken back. Above all, charged a service charge as well. $15 valet parking for a brunch experience is a farse for a supposed trendy place but in actuality lacking finessè, style and prompt service. In a city like Houston, we suggest elevating the dining experience or we don't expect this place to be around for much longer.

Yelp
I'm sorry in advance. This is a long one. I was really hoping to enjoy my experience here, unfortunately that was not the case. Two of my friends and I had reservations for 9:30 PM. 2/3 of us were there on time. We were not seated until an hour and 10 minutes later. We, along with 2 to 3 other parties were crammed like sardines in the very small entrance area. Someone who appeared to be a manager, or maybe owner, who was clearly not supposed to work that night, based on the way, he was dressed, came in, to address the hostesses about the situation. The hostesses were clearly frustrated, and were fussing with the waiters about people sitting too long at tables, and not leaving in a timely matter for people with reservations to sit down. We were told the hold up was several large birthday parties that made the kitchen backed up. If the kitchen is not equipped to serve multiple tables of 10+ people, there should probably be a limit on the number of people per party, like no more than 6-8. After waiting for about 40 minutes, we were ready to leave. One of the hostesses told us that we "only" had 20 minutes left on our wait. Simultaneously, a small group of people left from the bar to go sit at a table. We snagged those seats. One of the bartenders came over and told us that she would clean the area for us. After she cleaned, we sat there, waiting for her to come back to ask us what we wanted to drink, but that never happened. We then realized that she was only servicing one side of the bar. No one ever came to service us in anyway. We had to flag her down to put in our drink order. After more than 20 minutes passed, we questioned the hostess about when we would be seated. The manager, had to tell two women, who were lingering around, that they needed to leave the booth so we could be seated. Once we were finally able to sit down, again an hour and 10 minutes later, things went pretty smoothly. The only hiccup was that I ordered the bow buns that were supposed to come with southern fried chicken. When they came out, the chicken was nothing near fried. The waitress sent it back for me, and when it came back out, it had a very light coating on it, but it still certainly was not southern fried. Nonetheless, it tasted great. I also had the mashed potatoes, which were decent-ish. I ordered brussels sprouts as well, but I had those boxed to go. You know how it is when you're so hungry that when you finally do eat, you get full super fast. That's what happened with us tonight after waiting so long. We didn't even order an entrée, because we knew we would be too full after the appetizer. I'm giving them two stars for the bow buns. I understand that they are a new restaurant, but the wait time, and the very visible bickering between employees was ridiculous. Also, the song, "Birthday B!tch" was played every time someone had sparkling lights and a sign brought to their table. It was excessive, the number of times it was played. There were also other birthday songs that were played throughout the night. It was way too much.

Yelp
You will not be disappointed when checking out Doves Restaurant located on Main Street in Midtown. From the decor to the food to the hospitality, oh, they nailed it. You must get the Etouffee Wontons and Brussel Sprouts 10 out of 10. Great for date night, girls' night, or just chilling in a friend group. Go see what the hype is all about... It's very mindful!!! Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10

Yelp
Nice spot , very grown and sexy I love the decor!!!!! The emerald green is beautiful. The staff was very friendly even got comp champagne for the wait & was able to wait in the cute covered patio. The food was good a few improvements can be made I had the lobster fried rice was good once I added a little seasoning for my liking. I went here for a birthday event. My friend loved the shrimp paste another young lady loved the lamb chops .. and the other 2 ladies after adding seasoning to their liking for the salmon and noodles enjoyed it after. The birthday celebration was so cute and makes you feel so special on your special day. Just give this place a try I will go back for brunch. I enjoyed myself.

Yelp
From the greeting to the seating and the service that I received this past Saturday, which was September 28 I highly recommend this restaurant. Latonya was our server and she was awesome and our food was really good. I attended with a small group of friends totaling four of us and everyone raved about their food. This was my second time here and it will not be my last.

Yelp
We went to try the new brunch menu! Service was excellent. New Brunch Menu included chicken and waffles, and oxtails but the French toast with peaches stole the spotlight. There was clearly a master of bacon, it was perfection. Upscale ambience dress to impress. Amazing evergreen color decor! Great drinks.

Yelp
Loved the ambience here! We checked it out on opening weekend and it was a full house! Service was a little slow and they ran out of complimentary champagne. A couple menu items weren't available but overall a good experience. Drinks took a while to come out so we felt like we needed to be on a time crunch since we had other plans afterwards. The tuna tower was basic. Drinks were pretty! Decor and patio was nice!

Yelp
Food was amazing, but would order to go. Due to the EXTREMELY loud music I had to yell to have any conversation. Even my waitress could not ask if everything was good but had to give me thumbs up to ask. Took over an hour to get the tomahawk but was given an extra crab mac n cheese. If you're looking to eat at a fancy club, this will do.

Yelp
Where do I begin?! Doves is a MUST VISIT if you're coming to Houston, live in Houston, on a day trip to Houston....you HAVE to go! Food was a 10 for presentation, service, and taste. Service was so attentive and hospitable. Management was very involved in making sure everything was perfection. And the venue itself, STUNNING. So many picture perfect instagram-able moments! If I didn't live in North Carolina, I'd be back for a birthday dinner! Thank you Doves and staff for a beautiful evening!

Yelp
My friends and I want to celebrate Christmas together and go Doves. We had heard really good things and thought it would be a really nice place for us to go. The Ambiance was great and the service of the wait staff was great however the kitchen staff and the wait for the food was completely horrible. We had a reservation for 7pm and it took 25 minutes to get our appetizers they were ok. Then it took us another hour or more to get our food and it was good. I would have been more forgiving had the restaurant been busy but it was not. We will not return.

Yelp
The hostess Chartice is a fantastic ambassador for the restaurant. Unique is an amazing server. The food, ambiance and vibe is five star. I think our party of six ordered half of the brunch menu, lol. Everything received rave reviews. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
The Houston Brunch Club patronized Doves for brunch today. The service and ambiance was amazing!! It was the perfect venue for our event. Shout out to owner Sam for making the booking seamless and waitress Dee. Their attentiveness and friendliness elevated the dining experience and made our event unforgettable!!

Yelp
I recently went against my better judgement and tried this place out for brunch after a friend of my mine wasn't happy with her dinner experience. We were seated promptly, and our waitress thought a little forget provided good service given the circumstances. The restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance was nice. There was a live saxophonist that played a r&b and hip hop. There was a bit of a wait for the food but luckily I ordered the wings as an appetizer as something for us to enjoy while we waited. I ordered the steak(medium), potatoes, and eggs and my friend ordered the hash which she said was good. My food on the other hand was "okay". I took a bite of the steak and it was cold, but the potatoes were pipping hot. I politely informed the waitress and she informed she would take care of it. She disclosed that someone from the kitchen would be coming out to talk to me, which was after fine. A gentleman from the kitchen comes out holding the plate with a towel and informs me that the steak will be really hot so be careful. To my dismay, it was previous plate(I know because I took a bite of the food) that was reheated which resulted in the steak that I requested to be served at medium, being overcooked to well done. I was also given a disclaimer that the steak just looks like that but it's medium temperature. The steak was a hangar steak that was sliced in the kitchen, so each piece was well done. I politely informed the waitress that unfortunately I would not be able to enjoy the steak due to it being well done. Another gentleman working in regular clothes approached the table and asked about the food and I explained the issue. He said he would bring a drink for the inconvenience , which was a half full mimosa. At this point while I'm waiting for my food, the other person has completely finished her food, which she said was good. A steak was brought to the table for the 3rd time, and once again it was cold, frustrated and hungry I made the best of the situation and ate the cold steak and hot potatoes. Don't get me wrong the steak was seasoned very well , it was very disappointing that it was cold, not lukewarm once again. When asked about the steak I suggested to a gentleman that maybe the kitchen shouldn't let the steak rest so long, or it should be the last thing cooked since everything else on the plate is hot. I was told that because it was a thin piece of hangar steak that from the grill in the kitchen, to being plated, then walked to my table the steak could easily get cold. I thought it was weird that any establishment would admit to knowingly serving cold food. I've also never been to an establishment where I've had to send a plate back twice, and no compensation was offered. All in all I'm only giving 2 stars for the two helpful young ladies Shanice and Daja. Also the chicken wings were good other than that I could do without. I wanted to love the place but after my experience I don't see myself returning

Yelp
Extremely disappointing experience all the way around, if everyone gave an honest review they would be out of business. Came yesterday and after paying $30+ to park on a narrow 2-way street with the rudest valet ever, we were seated at the bar with no drinks because our table was not available. I know that HOUSTON has coined the whole 2 to 3 hour wait thing, but this was ridiculous. Another party that was there for a birthday, she had been waiting over two hour but got bumped for some local wannabe celebrity, yes, we saw that. No drinks, no service no nothing and then majority of the items they wanted to order were gone. The tall manager was there (He was on TV the other night with his horrible misogynistic IG business partner who clowned his wife), he was trying but everyone can see they know nothing about the industry. The food was horrible, weak drinks and the waitstaff was trying their best but what could they do?? The Tomahawk was mid, the lamb chops were decent and what was up with the unisex toilet with three stalls that anyone could walk in on that was disgusting not a good experience and not upscale, just because you have a weirdly shaped white woman dancing on a stage it does not make you sexy. This is going to be a grand opening and grand closing situation soon huge waste of money like Se7en. Throwing a huge grand opening with local VIPs (in their heads) and taking a bunch of pictures doesn't mean you know how to open or operate a restaurant. Save your coins for Bungalow and Steak 48,here don't even bother.

Yelp
Wonderful customer service, amazing food and drinks. I can always appreciate great service and friendly staff. Music wasn't too loud and was able to catch up with a long time friend without screaming across the table. Restrooms were clean. Enjoyed my experience, will definitely be back!

Yelp
The service here is terrible. They were more interested in serving bottles over food. Extremely short staffed. It took us an hour to be seated with a paid deposit reservation booked in advanced. After being seated. We didn't get served waters until after an hour after being seated and having to ask several times. It took over 45 minutes for us to receive cocktails we ordered from the bar. The food took over 2 hours to come out from the kitchen and as our food came out the manager proceeded to approach our table telling 2 of our guest that they ran out of what she ordered and if she wanted something else. There was nothing offered to us to accommodate the terrible service we had. I do not recommend that you come here. They need help in how to run this establishment. Only great thing here is that the aesthetics here is beautiful and that's it.

Yelp
This place has the sickest vibe l've seen in Houston but man what an absolute disaster. I made reservations and when I got there they told me it would be a 30 minute wait so we sat at the bar we didn't have to wait the full 30 minute they sat us next to tho go go dancer the waitress didn't know anything about the menu she recommended the calamari it looked like a bowl of the fish crumbs from long John silvers hard and crunchy the waitress said that was all she could recommend..... the music was so loud we could barely hear her and she continued on didn't bend down after she saw I couldn't hear what she was saying....the drinks were all $20 and were sweet zero acidic balance and minimal alcohol taste....like an expensive coolaid drink with a piece of fruit on the rim, they only have valet $15 but they don't bring the car back to you because they couldn't turn around on the street so they gave us our keys and we walked to our vehicle, the food was not good and expensive. I had the orange chicken and my rice was under cooked and still had many hard pieces and the vegetables were tasteless....the bathroom was closed and they had no alternative for guest, I had to sort of plead with them that I needed to use the restroom and they finally allowed me to use the restroom but I couldn't flush the toilet.. knowing that the restroom was closed and they had no alternative I was uncomfortable and didn't drink anything else and just wanted to get out of there.... Please save your money and time this place is trash.

Yelp
I came here for the first time with my friends and we were super excited. We had a reservation for 8:00 p.m. and our table was not ready. They constantly told us they were cleaning the table and before we knew it, it was 8:30! What a waste of a Uber. Upon getting ready to leave the male host in the front said something very rude to us. Talk about bad service! I do not recommend! Get it together!

Yelp
Going for Vic and Anthony's but leaves a lot to be desired. The service is mid, but they do try. Ordered the Wagu Steak, which was actually pretty good; however, I didn't get wagu from it at all good thing was it's only $60.00. Ambiance is pretty decent though. Beware of the dress code though. The craft cocktails are good, but this is not the place to go for a drink after a basketball or baseball game if you want to go somewhere downtown because they will turn you away, or worse invite you in and then kick you out. Overall, I see the vision, and know they will be successful once they have solidified their identity and fully understand their target audience.

Yelp
Came here on an empty stomach (bad idea) on a Friday night with a friend visiting from out of town. Our reservation was for 9:30pm. By 10:20pm our table still was not ready. After standing in heels for almost an hour we saw some available seats at the bar and we quickly scurried over to snag them before someone else did. At this point we figure let's order a drink while we continue to wait for our table. I guess the part of the bar we sat in was in no man's land because we were also waiting there for what seemed like an eternity to order our drinks. We finally get seated at our reserved table at 11:15pm. Ridiculous is an understatement. I get it y'all just opened but a whole hour and 45 minutes past our reservation time is absolutely insane. By the time we got to our table my appetite was gone but we really wanted to give them a try. Ordered just appetizers and side dishes because it was too late to eat. Restaurant is giving TEMU version of Kiss vibes. Doves is supposed to be a fine dining restaurant with a strict dress code but gives Bar 5015 lounge vibes. Definitely needs to get the reservations under control and a timed limit on how long people can eat at their table and baby sit seats at the bar.

Yelp
My experience was diabolically awful. I don't even know where to start. From the excessively loud music to the exorbitant price. A plate of potato wedges with 2 ounce size of shredded oxtail for $38. And a glass of margarita for $20.. bill came to $61 with fees, with 18%, tip $71. $71 for the worst loaded fries I've ever come across. When the food is called Oxtail something- WHERE?! The food tastes good and the ambience was good. But that oxtail dish is an insult. I'm still not over it. I met a new friend at that brunch, I still don't know her name. I was told twice and I still could not hear over that music. It was too loud!!! All my friends at the table said they would never return. Maybe if they turn the music down and have decent pricing for some of their meals. I really am not exaggerating. I understand they are going for the upscale setting but no upscale restaurant I've been to will serve the meal I ate like it was. It looked like loaded fries with little to no meat or even vegetables on it.

Yelp
I was excited to check out this place, but after paying $30.00 to park, standing in heels and waiting 45+ minutes after our reservation to be seated, a 3 hour dining experience which involved waiting a ridiculous amount of time for two appetizers and two drinks, AND hearing Rihanna and 2 chainz birthday song AT LEAST 5x while watching people twerk at the table for the gram...I won't be returning. The food was mid and overpriced, the drinks were good and overpriced, the service was no bueno. The brief r&b set was appreciated, but of course it was interrupted with "Cake, cake, cake, cake..."However, I will add that there was a man who appeared to be the floor manager, busting his hiney trying to seat people and turn tables. Without him, this place would be an even bigger disaster because he was the only one who seemed to know what was going on. Beyond the decor, I wouldn't describe this place as classy or upscale. So disappointing.

Yelp
Was looking for a place to celebrate my wife's 67th birthday and I came across Doves on instagram and I decided to give it a try. we are glad we did because it met our expectations not only that, the owner was a former student of my wife and she was shocked to find that out. He wasn't in at the time , but our waitress informed his manager and the owner called in to the restaurant to have a personal conversation with her. We really thought that was thoughtful of him. I'm a small bite guy and I ordered, Franks Dumplings and to my surprise, it was very good and there's no doubt on our next visit, I will be ordering it again. The ambience of the restaurant was first class and the layout to the club was throughly well done from the furnishings to the bathroom foyer to the bathroom themselves. Everything was nice and clean. I'm a contemporary Jazz guy and their music selection was top tier. All and all, we definitely will be back.

Yelp
I went here to have a nice dinner after hearing mixed reviews I Thought to go try for myself. The food was very good. Nice ambiance and decor but it felt more like a club than a restaurant the music was very loud and off putting to the point where we couldn't enjoy our meal. The light shows, signs and sparklers were also excessive. The staff is visibly young and inexperienced. The service was not good. The manager or at least I assume was the manager a young man on Sunday was disheveled and could be heard talking badly and negatively about guest and the staff, very unprofessional. Maybe during a weekday the atmosphere is calmer than the weekend. The food and drinks were on point, definitely room for improvement in other areas.

Yelp
Immediately, upon entering you are captivated by the ambiance and amazing decor. The hostess were attentive and pleasant. The waiter was welcoming and knowledge of the entire menu. The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Pagoda Shrimp, the Gumbo Dumpling, and the Oxtail Yakamein. Doves is the hottest new upscale restaurant in Houston!!
