I'm sorry in advance. This is a long one. I was really hoping to enjoy my experience here, unfortunately that was not the case. Two of my friends and I had reservations for 9:30 PM. 2/3 of us were there on time. We were not seated until an hour and 10 minutes later. We, along with 2 to 3 other parties were crammed like sardines in the very small entrance area. Someone who appeared to be a manager, or maybe owner, who was clearly not supposed to work that night, based on the way, he was dressed, came in, to address the hostesses about the situation. The hostesses were clearly frustrated, and were fussing with the waiters about people sitting too long at tables, and not leaving in a timely matter for people with reservations to sit down. We were told the hold up was several large birthday parties that made the kitchen backed up. If the kitchen is not equipped to serve multiple tables of 10+ people, there should probably be a limit on the number of people per party, like no more than 6-8.
After waiting for about 40 minutes, we were ready to leave. One of the hostesses told us that we "only" had 20 minutes left on our wait. Simultaneously, a small group of people left from the bar to go sit at a table. We snagged those seats. One of the bartenders came over and told us that she would clean the area for us. After she cleaned, we sat there, waiting for her to come back to ask us what we wanted to drink, but that never happened. We then realized that she was only servicing one side of the bar. No one ever came to service us in anyway. We had to flag her down to put in our drink order.
After more than 20 minutes passed, we questioned the hostess about when we would be seated. The manager, had to tell two women, who were lingering around, that they needed to leave the booth so we could be seated.
Once we were finally able to sit down, again an hour and 10 minutes later, things went pretty smoothly. The only hiccup was that I ordered the bow buns that were supposed to come with southern fried chicken. When they came out, the chicken was nothing near fried. The waitress sent it back for me, and when it came back out, it had a very light coating on it, but it still certainly was not southern fried. Nonetheless, it tasted great. I also had the mashed potatoes, which were decent-ish. I ordered brussels sprouts as well, but I had those boxed to go. You know how it is when you're so hungry that when you finally do eat, you get full super fast. That's what happened with us tonight after waiting so long. We didn't even order an entrée, because we knew we would be too full after the appetizer. I'm giving them two stars for the bow buns. I understand that they are a new restaurant, but the wait time, and the very visible bickering between employees was ridiculous. Also, the song, "Birthday B!tch" was played every time someone had sparkling lights and a sign brought to their table. It was excessive, the number of times it was played. There were also other birthday songs that were played throughout the night. It was way too much.
