"I’m looking forward to a new fine-dining Southern restaurant opening this fall in the Galleria/Uptown area that’s being launched by Touché Harvey and Frederick Wilson of HW Hospitality Group and will be helmed creatively by private celebrity chef Tiffani Janelle. The all-women-led kitchen will serve “contemporary comfort food” elevated to a higher-brow take on Southern and Creole staples, including grit cakes, slow-cooked short ribs finished with a marmalade twist, prime cuts such as tomahawk steaks, fresh seafood like Island shrimp cocktail with mango habanero sauce, Southern catfish smothered in Creole beurre blanc, and deep-fried salmon; desserts include a “grown-up” milk and cookies pairing warm chocolate chip cookies with chilled white chocolate RumChata. The concept prioritizes creating opportunities for women—especially women of color—with Janelle consulting for at least 90 days before turning the kitchen over to an executive female chef, and she frames the project as a tribute to mothers and lost loved ones. The restaurant balances fine-dining food with a relaxed atmosphere so guests needn’t overdress, and its indoor dining room and lounge seat up to 99 with two private event spaces and an outdoor patio for about 30 that will offer its own happy hour. Janelle, who has cooked for Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Adrian Peterson, Tracy McGrady, and Beyoncé, is also promoting the concept alongside her upcoming cookbook Sunday Dinner; the spot is slated to open by August 31 and will offer hours Tuesday–Thursday 4 p.m.–11 p.m., Friday 4 p.m.–midnight, and weekend brunch 11 a.m.–4 p.m. with dinner and late-night service 5 p.m.–midnight." - Brittany Britto Garley
