Tiki Dive Bar Portside Lounge Is Closing, Citing ‘Spike in Crime’ in NOLA - Eater New Orleans

"Portside also opened not far from two Central City food hubs with a mission, Dryades Public Market and food incubator Roux Carre, both of which have since closed (and Casa Borrega just closed recently, in May)." - Clair Lorell

Such a cute little neighborhood market. The staff was very friendly and prices were not bad for a small shop.

Bye bye Dryades Public Market. It was great while it lasted. Everytime I visit you something else is closed. Today I see all of the grocery shelves empty and learn that the first floor grocery store is no more. I will miss this hidden treasure in Central City. An overly ambitious start in 2015 that had slowly led to this.

My first visit from I'm out of town Very friendly service, nice selection of products, great hot food and deli selection especially some healthy alternatives. Although prices are a bit high. Great addition to a "food desert" and a good by-product of gentrification. Excellent re-purposing of an out of commission former elementary school

I usually shop at my local co-op but this place has a similar feel but way more options as far as deli and butcher. Box foods fairly limited but that is not my thing.

This was my 1st visit, and I was very impressed. The staff greeted me with a smile. The prices are very affordable. It's organized and tidy. Love the concept of having a bar as an option, in addition to the ability to purchase hot food. It is small, yet easy to navigate through the aisles. Will definitely be returning.

This place has great ambiance! The beer selection is very good, the bar is pretty cool and so is the coffee bistro. This is a great place to grab a snack and study/work. They haven't been open that long, so they still need to expand their selection on some things, especially organic and gluten free options given all the health fads today. So far I like what I see. Ready to see what this place becomes once they've had a chance to settle in.
