Dub N Grub Serves Some of Miami's Favorite Vegan Caribbean Food | Bon Appétit

"Owned and run by Kriss Kofi (with Chef Macka in the kitchen), this plant-forward Caribbean spot showcases fire-based cooking and deeply familiar island flavors: grilled okra skewers, breadfruit roasted over open flame, stewed blueberries, and orange blossom–candied yams appear alongside staples like a beloved stir-fried callaloo with okra and bok choy and a meatless stew peas that still carries the dish’s classic depth. The menu leans heavily on mushrooms (lion’s mane, oyster, portobello) as proteins — Kofi even dubs himself “the Mushroom Don” — and offers texturally convincing crispy ik’n (“chicken”) and jerk preparations. Macka’s vegan macaroni and cheese skips cashews in favor of almond milk for a creamy, lightly spiced result. Rooted in Rastafarian ital principles and community cooking, the restaurant opened at Treelion in December 2022, attracts attention on social media, and emphasizes whole, package-free ingredients while serving the local Caribbean community." - ByDinkinish O'Connor

I reallyyy loves this place, so happy I found it! It is so difficult to eat good vegan food in Miami that I’m anxious to come back there! The staff is really friendly and the atmosphere is beautiful! I loved all the books and pictures there, and the juices OMG they’re SOOO good and super natural! I’m the king of person who only eats REAL food and this is the place where you’ll find healthy and vegan options with amazing unique flavor. I’ll definitely come back again soon 🥰

I’ve heard about Dub n Grub from a handful of people, and started following them on social media. I’ve heard mixed reviews about them, so I decided to try them for myself. I had the vegan Rasta pasta, with fried oyster mushroom on top. It was pretty good. It had a nice light coconut milk flavor. Pasta was cooked al dente, and the veggies were cooked just enough. Portion size was nice, although another ounce of pasta would have been nice. (admittedly, I’m not sure of the pasta portion size). I ordered for delivery, so I cannot comment on the service, or atmosphere of the location. Overall, it is someplace that I would try their other menu offerings.

The Best Ital Vegan Spot in Miami Gardens This spot is an absolute gem. Now in a new location, the decor is vibrant and full of Rasta energy, with rich reds, greens, and golds setting the perfect tone for a soulful dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth—not just from the colors but from the welcoming atmosphere and the love poured into the food. I visited with some friends, and we were beyond satisfied with every bite. I just had to make a round 2. The flavors are bold, homey, and unmistakably Caribbean, staying true to the essence of Jamaican ital cuisine—pure, plant-based, and packed with natural goodness. Whether you’re craving a hearty stew, a flavorful veggie plate, or a refreshing fresh-pressed juice, the chef is serving up food that nourishes both body and soul. If you’re looking for the best vegan Jamaican food in Miami, authentic Rasta flavors, or simply a healthy, feel-good meal with island vibes, look no further. This place is a must-visit for lovers of Caribbean cuisine—vegan or not! I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Absolutely DELICIOUS!! I had the Veggie Hi Mein special with the teriyaki crispy oysters. Probably the best vegan meal I’ve had since moving back to South Florida. Great customer service and knowledgeable of all products. I would recommend this spot a million times over

✨Under New Management ✨...I have visited this location previously under the TreeLion restaurant management, however I did not return. Dub n Grub has saved the day!!!💯 This food has inspired me to consider veganism fully. South Florida is blessed with spices and cuisine from around the globe. I had the special for the day - noxtails. It came with Mac n cheese, rice n peas, curry chick peas, cabbage and plantains. The plate was a flavor explosion in my mouth💥. I ordered a small plate and the portions were very GENEROUS. I had plenty for leftovers. Thank you for giving me a reason to return again and again Chef Kofi. Kim provides great customer service on the register 😊.

Google
It was a really nice place, and nice people who were running it, it's really small though and barely anyone, also the menu is very limited with only vegan things, which is expected for a vegan restaurant, but even with only vegan things there barley anything to choice, there like only 8 ot 9 things in the menu only and the drinks they have are smoothies, and almost everything is a little overpriced, like only 2 smoothies are 25$. Again, I think you're allowed just to chill there and not buy anything, but if you are going to buy anything, it's going to cost you a lot.

The food was amazing. It is flavorful while not being over powering. It’s vegetarian/vegan food but it doesn’t feel that way. The portions are hearty and delicious. I’ve been to many plant based restaurants and this is definitely in my top 2. The ik’n was crispy, not soggy, the seasoning was fantastic, and it definitely filled me up. It’s so good I contemplated leaving my old life in WV behind just to be closer to this gem. We also got some of the moss drinks which we a nice refresher. I suggest sour sop, it was my favorite with such a unique flavor. They play music in the establishment that makes you feel like you’re on a vacation in Jamaica and the people who work there and come in are all so kind. The owner came to check on us and was very informative and kind. You can tell he loves what he does. The people who come in vouched for it a lot and I see why. Definitely recommend if you want a great meal from nice people and a lovely environment.

Yelp
I've been eating only vegan for three months, and I miss eating Jamaican cuisine. I'm always looking to try new flavors. My friend told me that I have to try Dub N Grubs Rasta Pasta with crispy Lions Mane. So I made the trek south to North Miami Gardens. Let me tell you this Rasta Pasta is outta hand. I've never had Lions mane, I was shocked how delicious it tastes. For a moment I stopped and called the staff so they could reassure me that I wasn't eating chicken. The staff is super friendly and willing to help. This will definitely be coming to Dub N Grub more often now. This place has an island ambiance and decor is point.

Yelp
First time here and plan to return next time I'm back in town visiting family. I was stuck between options, so I ordered two -- Rasta pasta and the Dub Plate. One for now, one for later lol . I can see why the Rasta pasta was a Customer favorite, absolutely delicious!! I got it with the fried oyster mushrooms on top but next time I think I would prefer the mushrooms cooked in since I had to take a separate bite when I took a bite of pasta. Food is very well flavored! And good portion sizes for the cost. Overall 10/10 recommendation!!

Yelp
I have ZERO negative things to say about this place and EVERYTHING good to say! We had the fried mushroom sandwich (icken )on Coco bread that was featured in a YouTube video which was also the reason we found out about this place! The chef came out and we complimented him on his extensively rich and educational book collection which he encourages his patrons to read while waiting for their food verses playing on your phone or watching tv. They open at 12 NOON by the way! Ginger peach drink was great! I watched a TON of folks order literally every single thing on the menu so I feel like you can't go wrong on whatever you order just make sure to get a fresh juice!

Yelp
I ordered the vegan Philly through Door Dash and it was so delicious. So much flavor. That's the first time I ordered food from Dub n Grub. I will definitely be ordering again.

Yelp
I was greeted the moment I stepped in. Being my first time, the woman taking my order was very friendly and patient. Went around 5pm and the service was quick. I ordered the dub plate special that came with Noxtail (mushrooms), curry chickpeas, rice and peas, okra and callalou, Mac n cheese, and cabbage salad. Delicious; very flavorful with great Caribbean flare! Will certainly return to experience more.

Yelp
I've been a patron of this business since before they had a food truck and they hit it out the park so so many times. The chef and owner is a culinary visionary that keeps creating amazing food. The service is always polite and accurate. If you're eating at the food truck or the restaurant, the vibe is definitely well thought out. Some of my favorites to eat are the Yayo Philly with fries, the Noxtail dubplate, the stew pea's dubplate, the Alfredo with crispy mushrooms. My ultimate favorite is the mac and ease (cheese lol) The recipe is from the chefs wife and it's one of the best vegan Mac and cheese I've ever had. Also try out their fresh juices. I like the cherry berry, strawberry, and the beet. The prices range from $13 to up to $25 a plate. The juices are $7 (as of august 2023). Portion sizes are really good. I can usually get two meals from a VvIP dubplate. The sandwiches are healthy portions and are perfect for lunch or even dinner. This place is a 10/10 and one of my favorite places to eat. Always sad when they are closed but the staff works hard and they deserve the time off!

Yelp
BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT! I've tried a lot of places over the years, but I can honestly say this is my favorite. Finally, someone has created an original menu with great variety. The flavors are amazing and unique. I'm so glad I found this place! Unfortunately, I don't live in the area, but whenever I'm back, this will be my go-to spot. I can't recommend it enough--go and try it!

Yelp
If you're looking for an Afro-Floribbean plant-based veganized street food experience, Dub N Grub has got you covered. It's the best vegan spot in Florida, full stop. Expect family style cuisine with Asian, Mexican, and Afro-Caribbean influences. Chef Kofi and Chef Macka pack exquisite flavor into every single item on the menu. Their cuisine is soy free, dairy free, and gluten free. Sauces, creams, and condiments are also made in house. Fresh, locally sourced vegetables help make each dish pop with flavor. The mac is so cheesy it's hard to believe it's vegan! I also recommend the Rasta Pasta; it has fantastic texture. Vegan oxtails, tacos, and hibachi items are also on offer. Supporting this Black-owned business is easy due to the amazing menu offerings and excellent vibes. There's great energy every time I visit. Staff are kind, professional, and obviously passionate about what they do. Food is made to order, and 100% worth the wait. Easy parking. If you're vegan or vegan curious - or have doubts that vegan food could ever taste good! - then Dub N Grub is a must-do!

Yelp
Wanted some fire plant based Caribbean food while visiting Miami and Dub N Grub did not disappoint. The food was amazing, service was great, and the chef was dope. Whenever I'm back, this place is a must stop!!

Yelp
Took my mother and sister (who are not vegan) to this plant based restaurant and we loved it. The food was great! The service was decent and the ambiance of the environment was nice.

Yelp
I been coming here before Dub n Grub was even at that location! I used to come to old Treelion spot here to buy my seamoss gel I came in one day and met Chef Koffi he explained to me that there's was a new Jamaica vegetarian restaurant and fix me a plate quinoa with sauce on top with mushrooms I don't really remember been almost two years ago but that plate was to die for very tasty and very healthy been coming ever since! My top plant base restaurant in Miami heads down!!!

Yelp
No matter how good the food is, I will not be returning to this Restuarant. The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. On Saturdays they open at 12 noon, my elderly mother got food from the place next door but as I am vegan we decided to both stand outside to wait for 12 noon. At 12 no-one came to open, so I knocked on the door, someone came to the door and wrote on a note "soon come". I stood outside with my 80 year old mother for 25 minutes and they did not have the decency to open the door and give us some indication as to how much more time we were expected to wait. When I finally went in to place my order, the chef became confrontational and told me I didn't have to have an attitude. Took no responsibility at all for opening late, if it were me alone I would not have even knocked. I will never set foot inside this establishment again. Good food is one thing, I don't expect great service but I certainly do not expect to be confronted.

Yelp
I love the rasta vibes! It's a cute and homey spot. The Rasta Pasta Alfredo was soooo good!!!

Yelp
The best vegan soul food, ital food ever. They got this plate with vegan Mac n cheese, callaloo , & these mushroom tenders that are to die for. They are better than any chicken tender anywhere.
