Best Korean Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"It’s all about the tofu at this recently opened restaurant in Duluth’s K-town. The folks here make their tofu (or “du bu” in Korean) fresh every morning with organic soybeans imported from Danyang, Korea and spotlight it into a variety of their dishes. If you’re craving a comforting bowl of soondubu (tofu stew), they’ll have you covered with multiple options, including kimchi, pork, seafood, and perilla seed mushroom. There’s also hearty meat dishes such as LA kalbi and a fantastic tofu with stir-fried spicy pork barbecue." - Michael Tran

Best Restaurants for Soup in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"In a bustling Gwinnett Place strip mall, this spot serves fresh soon dubu, a comforting tofu stew made fresh daily with organic, non-GMO soybeans from South Korea. The menu revolves around steaming hot stone bowls of tofu, from mild and soft to fiery and spicy tofu, topped with enoki mushrooms, oysters, or kimchi. The perilla seed soon dubu stands out with its nutty flavor, as creamy tofu is paired with crushed perilla seeds and enoki mushrooms. Upgrade the meal with thistle rice with undertones of green tea, or the umami-rich mushroom rice with a spread of banchan — from crunchy lotus root to creamy carrot mac and cheese." - Eater Staff

Absolutely loved this Korean restaurant in Duluth! The food was outstanding. The beef and tofu soup was especially amazing, rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The rice was perfectly cooked, nice and soft, which paired so well with every dish. They also had a great selection of appetizers and an impressive variety of soups to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. Service was excellent; attentive, friendly, and welcoming without feeling rushed. The ambience inside the restaurant was really pretty and calm, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Have you walked into the wrong restaurant but stayed anyways because of the ambiance of the place? That's what I did. I was supposed to meet my nephew at the Chili Spot but accidentally walked in through the wrong door. I rarely walk into the wrong restaurant but glad I did because this place is so hip and modern. Speaking of atmosphere, the spacious ness of the place, the modern decor and vibe makes dining in a relaxing experience. The food was delicious. Here's what we had: SOON DUBU + PORK BBQ 순두부 + 목살구이 Choice of your soft tofu stew with stir-fry pork in soy-based sauce SOON DUBU + LA KALBI 순두부 + LA갈비 Choice of your soft tofu stew with marinated short ribs. We loved the combo along with the banchan (반찬). The service was stellar. Our waitress, Jane was attentive, professional and patient. She answered all of our questions and made great suggestions. Go check them out if you are looking for delicious food and excellent service.

Overall Solid, busy Korean tofu spot with good service and a cute, clean vibe. I came in extra excited because they make their own tofu, but the food leaned more modern and Americanized than I hoped, so I can’t give it a full 5. Price and value Pricing felt average for today’s economy. Not cheap, not outrageous. The in house tofu is a cool value add, even if it didn’t fully hit the “wow” level I’ve had from tofu shops in Korea. Food and flavor The biggest thing to know: the flavor profile felt more catered to modern tastes that are sweeter and spicier rather than the more traditional OG style. That’s not “bad,” just different. If you’re expecting Korea level authenticity and balance, set expectations accordingly. What to order Best bet: stick to the OG sundubu stews, especially the spicy options. That’s where this place shines the most, and it’s the safest way to have a satisfying meal here. What I’d skip The pancakes were not worth it to me. They felt too thick and batter heavy, with not enough filling for the flour ratio. I’d rather spend that stomach space on stew and tofu focused dishes. Service Service was pretty good. Staff was attentive and the overall experience felt well run. Atmosphere and wait Atmosphere was cute and clean, but it’s very popular. Expect a wait unless you make a reservation ahead of time. Recommendation If you’re in Georgia and craving a more authentic leaning Korean tofu experience (by US standards), this is worth visiting. Just go in knowing it’s more modern, sweeter, and spicier than traditional OG style. Order the OG spicy sundubu stews, skip the pancakes, and you’ll have a much better time.

We went to Dubu several times and no doubt this place offer good quality meal with reasonable price. We love the black sesame tofu dish and the tofu mushroom soup as the vegan options. All the dishes were good. We went there during lunch time on one of a Saturday and the place was pack but the waiting list was offered and only wait for around 20 mins to get us a table which is nit bad considered the long waiting kist they had for that day. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. Sometimes, if you sit all the way in the back of the restaurant after lunch, you can smell the strong fish scent which is understandable for the place with lot of dishes with fish. Other than that, everything is good and we will probably come back here many more tome when we are in town.

Google
soondubu is my favorite food and Dubu Gongbang has some of the best around! I always get their spicy dubu with egg and mushroom rice. It’s always excellent. Service is very fast and efficient, atmosphere can get busy but moves quickly. Well priced, can’t recommend enough. I love you dubu.

A great new spot for spicy tofu stew! I love the vibe of this restaurant, and the servers were all very pleasant. We liked all the banchan, especially the cabbage with ssamjang. I enjoyed the handmade tofu in the bubbling, hot stew. The grilled mackerel and seafood pancake were also delicious! This is a good spot to check out for authentic Korean cuisine!

This place will become popular. Very authentic Korean flavors, kind staff, and wonderful ambiance. The combos (combinations) are delicious and a lot of food. We tried the Kalbi combination and the Grilled Mackerel combination; both delicious and I’d highly recommend. My favorite was the appetizer we ordered: the Seafood Scallion Jeon. The Dobu stews that came with the combinations were incredible too. I tried the seafood one. Overall, I’d highly recommend!

This place is very spacious, aesthetically pleasant, and the food leans on the very generous portion side even more so than the other soondubu spots. The mackerel, mushroom tofu soup, and the pan-fried tofu were probably my favorite items here. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was that the fish wasn’t deboned but I have ate whole fish before so it’s fine. The banchan paired well with the food and their LA Galbi set was very tasty. I think next time me and my partner will just get one set to share 😂 But it was nice to try everything and I appreciated the barley teapot at the table ! (not only to drink but to add to the scorched rice at the end)
