15 Must-Try Astral Margaritas in Orange County | Eater

"Open since 1998, Duke’s sits at the base of the pier, serving up Hawaiian-inspired fare with unbeatable ocean views. Unlike many tourist-heavy waterfront spots, the food and drinks actually hold up — from buttery lobster Benedict to the massive, shareable Hula Pie. The Duke’s Margarita keeps it classic with Astral Blanco, lime, and orange liqueur — best enjoyed on the patio with a front-row seat to Surf City’s waves. The beachfront setting and consistently well-executed menu make it worth a visit." - McConnell Quinn

While Duke’s is best known for Hawaiian fare, locals and critics alike rave about their Barefoot Bar’s Sunday BBQ specials. Overlooking the pier, this iconic spot features smoked meats and tropical-inspired sides that blend West Coast and island flavors. The Los Angeles Times and Condé Nast Traveler have spotlighted Duke’s for its unique BBQ experience, where the ocean breeze and relaxed setting add to the appeal. Their BBQ Sundays offer a festive, beachy take on the tradition, attracting both locals and visitors eager for something a little different.

This restaurant is for lovers of Hawaiian cuisine — unfortunately, that’s not me. The food felt quite unusual to me, as I’m not familiar with Hawaiian cuisine. Salads with sweet sauces, cold pasta in salads — everything seemed strange to me. And, to be honest, not tasty. Overall, I didn’t enjoy any of the food. So if you’re not sure that you like Hawaiian cuisine, it’s probably better not to come here. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is wonderful — a very beautiful restaurant with a stunning view of the ocean and the pier. The staff are very polite and attentive. Overall, it’s a great place for fans of Hawaiian cuisine.

Love our waitress, Mariana, who was so kind introducing the dishes on the menu so that we are able to make all of the right decisions on the foods. The seafood hotpot is the best one, it has a lot of different ingredients in one order. So if you eat to try a little bit of everything, then the hotpot is a must, don’t miss it!

After 25 years of experiencing Dukes in Oahu, going to Dukes in California always felt like a bit of an afterthought but this trip changed my mind. Brian is a rockstar behind the bar. He knows everyone and if he doesn't necessarily know you, he makes your stay that much more pleasant. My wife loved her MaiTai, I enjoyed multiple Four Sons brewing Coconutorious amber ale, and the split rib and huli huli chicken completed our huge experience. I'm glad my wife suggested it and it made this trip (another funeral) that much more reasonable. Keep it up Dukes.

Google
We enjoyed our time here. Celebrating My Mother In Laws Birthday. Atmosphere is great. The beach Vibe is in Full effect here. Tables over looking the Beach are Nice. We just so happened to watch The Set from our table that day. Food was OK. Mai Tai was good too. The Bar is pretty cool. With The Live Music its a good Time.

First Visit and was a bit confusing as to where to sit and what the options for seating were…but it worked out that I got the best seat in the house…large window looking straight out to the Pier and Beach + Ocean. Drake was the BEST Server, very welcoming, kind, attentive, helpful. Food was pretty good. Fries are delicious. Definitely rec and will go back again to try other options.

Google
Duke’s is right on the beach with stunning views of the pier, great food in generous portions. Don’t miss the ice cream cake for dessert - it’s amazing! Whether for lunch or dinner, the vibe is perfect, especially during sunset. Highly recommend!

Google
This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I found the atmosphere to be excellent. The staff was nice, respectful, and responsive. However, regarding the main course, I believe more items should be added to the menu. The quality compared to the price and portion size was high; it could definitely be improved. Management needs to pay attention to this, especially since they are located in the best area.

Google
I had never been to Huntington Beach before but we went to visit a friend that moved there...we go to the pier and lo and behold there is a Duke's...I've dined at Duke's Waikiki and Malibu many times so I was able to get my favorite drink, the Lava Flow....everything was excellent as always...thank you Duke's.

Yelp
Stop by here a few times a month if we have the chance, every thing is great every time. The views, the food, and the service is top notch. Had Cierra by a window and Carly in the bar smiles all around! Highly recommend!

Yelp
The food!!! All from scratch!! Hand breaded coconut shrimp, hand made crab wontons, fall-off-the-bone sticky ribs, perfectly cooked halibut special, and the holiday cocktails were so creative! The service was outstanding as well. I'm a local and very sad for me that I have overlooked Duke's over the recent years. I'm so glad I revisited and will be back SOON!

Yelp
I rated the review in the middle, because this was our first time . The drinks, waitress, and friendly ambiance was far better than the collective reviews of the food. The fish dishes were not met with positive reviews, but the filet was. We won't be back to dine, but I might come back for the Mai tais and a side of creamed corn!

Yelp
Duke's never disappoints. We have been to several locations in Hawaii and now here. This restaurant is located right on the wharf of Huntington Beach. We were seated promptly upon arrival. Our table was nice, facing the ocean. Our sever had amazing positive vibe. Special shoutout to Marianne. She was friendly and attentive. She was quick to make recommendations and ensured she informed us all of our options when ordering. Since we have been to other Duke's before, we were familiar with the menu. We did order a couple limited time entrees, and they were amazing! All of our orders were served promptly. Marianne checked on us multiple times to ensure we had everything we needed including our drinks. This location is right on the beach, you can't go wrong. The food is consistently good. Please leave room for the Hula pie!

Yelp
We came here for a beer. It is easy, clean and consistent. The service was quick and it is just nice to get a quick beer at the pier.

Yelp
We enjoy coming to Duke's when we're in the OC and recently drove over an hour just to come here to celebrate my sons 19th birthday since he loves it here. Relaxed atmosphere with a tiki bend. Reservations made easily over the phone & valet parking is a breeze (love that you can pay by card!) As always the food was delicious! We ordered: Calamari sticks, crab wontons, prime rib (big portions!), chicken & ribs and the special seasonal fish dish. As a treat they brought a generous slice of hula cake for my sons bday. The waitress Dana, was beyond incredible! It was a busy Saturday night but she never missed a step with our service. She even recognized that the original drink he ordered had gone untouched and offered to bring him something different which was a hit! Great attention to detail by her. We know we'll keep coming back and it's due in part to the fantastic service.

Yelp
We arrived around 11:15 on a Sunday and were seated immediately. Appetizers included poke tacos, coconut shrimp and crab wontons. Although the appetizers were filling, we ordered our entrees of ribs, loco Moco and fish and chips. The whole restaurant has a Hawaiian theme, to ready us for our trip to the big island. I feel this Dukes is newer and cleaner than the Malibu location, remember Malibu has had fires, mudslides and floods.

Yelp
Reservation for three for brunch. Great view and ambience. Their parking is valet only and convenient. Staff are friendly and very accommodating. Our friend was looking for an old pineapple martini on the menu and they managed to make one for her even though it's not on the menu anymore. Heard good things about their burger and ordered it medium. It came well done. I ate half and saved the rest for later. The shared appetizer was good. Wish they still had the brunch buffet. Overall, the feel of the menu is like a Hawaiian themed American diner vibe. Like a more expensive Ruby's in a way. Seems like the place to go for casual American food in the area.

Yelp
Excellent location with views of the ocean. Ordered the Ahi Bowl today it was fantastic and my two guests loved the burger and the fish tacos. The service was quick and very pleasant.

Yelp
Came here for Friday night entertainment sat in the bar and ordered some food and drinks. I ordered the calamari which tasted processed and also they need a better wine selection. Overall, it's not the same Dukes that's like in Hawaii not even close.

Yelp
We were really happy to get a reservation at this restaurant while we were in town. We got there hungry and left happy & full! Also we were able to see a beautiful sunset since the beach dock is right next to the restaurant. The server was on point, present and we didn't have to wait long to out in any of our orders. Stellar service! The restaurant was a bit busy but everything came out in a reasonable amount of time. We tried several of their appetizers that did not disappoint! The coconut shrimp were crispy, flavorful, and fresh. The sticky ribs had a great sweet glaze and the meat fell off the bone. Our dinners were so delicious, and nothing beats fresh fish. I tried a new fish, Ono, I believe was the name. It was a white fish not as delicate as a tilapia but not as thick as a halibut. Great flavor and all the sides accompanied it very well. We weren't going to get dessert but our server convinced us otherwise. The hula pie was so good! You should save some room to have this pie, at least to share with your party. We will be going back to this restaurant when we are in the area!

Yelp
Parking is super easy, either valet or public/inexpensive beach parking. I love all Dukes for their consistent food quality and vibe. The Dukes at Huntington was welcoming with easy seating in the barefoot bar. I would have preferred if there was more seating from there that could see the ocean though, like the one in Malibu. Service was friendly, and there was a live acoustic musician playing lovely music that Sunday afternoon. Hula pie is a MUST!
google avatar

Stacey G.

Yelp
Good was good I wasn't really into the poke bowl having the fish semi cooked. Felt like it affected the flavor. Maybe that's just my personal taste but my drink was so good. I really enjoyed the ambiance
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
It was excellent. Food was wonderful. I had the seafood broil with coconut sauce and the clam chowder with bacon. The server was attentive. The ambience was Hawaiian and beach themed . This is def one of the best restaurants and a must have when visiting Huntington Beach. 100% recommend.

Yelp
My mom and aunt were in town, and we had the most fantastic lunch at Duke's! We were craving an ocean view, and Duke's totally delivered. The hostess and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming - seriously, such a great vibe. Our server, Jason (I think that was his name!), was super attentive and made the whole experience even better. The food was amazing! I devoured some poke tacos (seriously, you HAVE to try them!) and some sashimi. Mom loved the wontons, and we indulged in a couple of cocktails. She had a margarita (she said it was delicious!), and I went for a watermelon mojito - it was light and refreshing, perfect for a sunny day. Maybe a little *too* refreshing, haha! It didn't pack quite the punch I was hoping for, but still yummy. Duke's is definitely a Huntington Beach gem! It's a must-try. I can't wait to go back with the kids!

Yelp
Dinner at Duke's - A Favorite Spot in Huntington Beach Took the family to Duke's for dinner and had another great experience. The restaurant has a cozy, clean atmosphere with a stunning view of the beach and ocean--one of the best in Huntington Beach, in my opinion. The staff were warm and accommodating, and our server, Denise, was especially delightful--attentive and friendly throughout our meal. I ordered the Prime Rib, cooked to a perfect medium and seasoned beautifully. Tender, flavorful, and just what I was hoping for. Duke's continues to be a go-to spot for us whenever we're in town. Great food, great service, and unbeatable views. Highly recommend

Yelp
I am a beach girl through and through, and recently got to visit this location by the Huntington pier. I've been to the one in Waikiki many times, and although it doesn't quite compare, I'm giving this 5 stars for the excellent service we received. I unfortunately didn't catch our server's name, but he was a younger man, possibly half-Asian. His friendliness and enthusiasm stood out. He seemed like he thoroughly knew the menu and even sold us on a few things (just as a car salesman would), like the HULA PIE (must-have, it's shareable!) and shared the fish of the day for certain entrees. Kudos to the attentiveness. To start, we got the BLACK BEAN NACHOS and MACADEMIA NUT HUMMUS, which came with flatbread and an assortment of veggies. The two appetizers seemed to balance each other. One healthy, one not so much. I chose the MAC NUT and HERB-CRUSTED FRESH FISH for my entree, which I enjoyed. It came with a macaroni salad (this was pretty basic) and a bit of regular salad. Loved the fish though topped with capers. Cannot skip the HULA PIE, which I guess is a signature dessert made of macademia nut ice cream. We also got the KEY LIME PIE to share with the table, it's a little smaller than its counterpart, but has a nice tartness.

Yelp
This is my second time at this location. I came with my family for my birthday and I treated as long as they got the chicken and ribs combo special. My son said what if I want a steak? My reply -you get your own check. So everybody had this and enjoyed it. I took home some of mine because I never eat everything all at once. Everyone was too full for dessert. They gave me a complementary hula pie. It had a chocolate cookie crust, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and lots of hot fudge with nuts. It was absolutely delicious. Yes, I ate all of it except for the whipped cream. Nobody else wanted any. The service was great and the view was unbelievable. This is a wonderful place to come and celebrate something special or just come because you feel like it.

Yelp
Love this spot! There's a casual aside if you don't have reservations which has great service and good food! On Monday they have a burger and beer special for $19, so if you plan it right you can catch the sunset :) I like their burgers, fries and sticky ribs!

Yelp
Superlative food and service. This restaurant group always hits it out of the park. My first time at this location, I have only previously been to their restaurants in Hawaii, but this didn't miss a beat. Enthusiastic and friendly service, a fun bar, great live music, killer views, and fantastic food made for a great night. The valet parking is a bit pricey, but it's hard to argue with the convenience. Sorry I did not get a photo of the hula pie, it disappeared too quickly, as usual n

Yelp
We've been to Dukes before in La Jolla and a few of the locations in Hawaii so decided to try the Huntington Beach location. It's been a few years but I remember the food being much better than it was this time. Everything we had was just okay and overpriced. You're paying just for the views. I had the Rib and chicken plate lunch. The ribs were pretty decent. The chicken was kinda bland and dry. My gf had the fish tacos which she didn't like at all. The best part of the meal was the hula pie we had for dessert which we always enjoy when going to Dukes. Service was pretty decent throughout the meal. Overall we came away disappointed as we had high hopes. I'd probably come back but just for apps, drinks and/or dessert

Yelp
On our anniversary, we decided to celebrate at Duke's Huntington Beach, and it was a wonderful choice. Even though we didn't request a window seat, we were pleasantly surprised to be seated at a table overlooking the Huntington Beach pier--such a beautiful backdrop for the occasion. We started with the calamari. It was decent, but not what I expected--it came out looking more like mozzarella sticks than traditional calamari. For our entrée, my husband and I both had the Mac Nut and Herb-Crusted Fresh Fish, which was excellent--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Our server, Jason, was fantastic! He was attentive, friendly, and made our experience extra special by surprising us with a slice of their famous Hula Pie to celebrate our anniversary. That gesture really made the evening memorable. Overall, a great anniversary dinner spot with a gorgeous view, delicious fish, and wonderful service. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Came here for dinner during the week and the food was great and our veteran server Jamie was so nice! I got their prime rib dukes style - with added spices on the outside - and it was good but maybe had 25% of fat on it. What was supposed to be 14oz of meat was really 8-10oz at that point. Either way, it was delicious. Mashed potatoes and asparagus was good too but ill probably stick to a filet mignon next time. My mom had their chicken and ribs plate. This was a generous portion with a few sides. She enjoyed this meal. We had a great view and enjoyed our drinks. Their guava soda is delicious and moms lava flow mocktail was nice. Glad Dukes is still in HB! Will come back for lunch next time!

Yelp
Visiting their Huntington Beach location was a great experience and brought back memories of our trip to their Maui restaurant. We went for lunch with some friends--it was quite busy, but thanks to our friend's reservation, we were seated quickly. I ordered the batter-fried fish tacos, which were excellent and topped with fresh avocado. We also shared a few sides, including the loaded nachos--perfect for a group--and the sticky ribs, which made for a tasty appetizer. For dessert, we had the original Hula Pie, just like we remembered from Maui, and it was just as delicious.

Yelp
I've always walked by this place and finally went in for brunch to celebrate family member's birthday. Very nice restaurant as soon as you walk in with amazing views of the beach and pier, we had a great table by the window! Food- coconut shrimp was amazing, crispy and flavorful. I got the ribs and chicken plate which was tasty. Tried the Parmesan crusted fish that a family member got and it was so good I regret not choosing that but look forward to coming back one day. Good drinks as well Also used their valet service option, highly recommend

Yelp
My wife and I were invited to visit by our good friends while we were in the area. Only been to Duke's a couple of times over 20 years. As they say, location, location, location runs it all. Our server did a great job! Thank you! We were a little surprised at the portion size compared to the cost. That said, our adult beverages were delicious! As were our meals. We are out supplies by the small size of their entrée salads. Coconut shrimp didn't have much coconut. Our friend truly enjoyed the prime rib!. I thought the highlight of the meal were the cocktails!

Yelp
Duke's is one of our favorites in this area, especially if you're bringing guests to see the Huntington Beach pier. You get great food PLUS a convenient way to park. This place's staff are always at their best, always so nice and courteous--they seem to be all so trained. Special shoutout to our girl Leah who was very friendly and warm, not too overbearing nor condescending, just cool and lively. Clearly knows what customer service is all about! Food is phenomenal as always -- this time, after having a very heavy brunch at an earlier party, I just got the Wedge Salad with Grilled Chicken for dinner, and my boyfriend got the Baked Duke's Fish. The combination of balsamic tomatoes, candied walnuts, bacon and blue cheese with the iceberg lettuce and chicken was so good it makes me want to go back next week :) My boyfriend says his fish plate was bursting with flavor. The ambiance of Duke's is what keeps us coming back. The beach vibes, the celebratory mood...there's always a table celebrating something! This time we shared the restaurant with some guests in their formals-just the perfect place to be in on a Saturday (early) evening.

Yelp
First time but won't be the last! Would skip the appetizer ribs and hummus. The ribs were spicy and we didn't like the hummus. The coconut shrimp were very good but we thought the portion was small for the price. Loved the poke tacos but $21 for 3 extremely small tacos is just too much. Liked the prime rib dinner a lot but didn't really understand why it was swimming in liquid. Weird. Also really enjoyed the sautéed crusted fish dinner. We were there to celebrate a birthday so the highlight was the amazingly delicious Hula Pie. I think I dreamt about it last night. Of course the setting can't be beat. Watching the sunset over the ocean was awesome. Have to also compliment the terrific staff starting with our server Lea. She is a 10+ for sure! The restaurant is really noisy but that is to be expected on a busy Friday night. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Denise is an exceptional server. An amazing birthday celebration! Fantastic service and always feels like a special occasion when I visit Duke's for a sunset dinner.

Yelp
Thank you Duke's for the perfect birthday brunch! We had a reservation for Sunday morning at 11:30AM. We arrived just in time and parked valet which was $11 for 3 hours. We were seated right away by the windows with a beautiful view of the pier and beach go-ers. I forgot the name of our server (sorry!), but the service was great and he made sure we had a beautiful dining experience. I ordered the Sautéed Mac Nut & Herb Crusted Fresh Fish, and it was very delicious and filling. Then, I received a Hula Pie as the birthday dish!! That was the main reason I wanted to dine at Duke's, so a Hula Pie on the house really made my day. What We Ordered: Panko-Crusted Calamari - small dish, small serving if sharing PPOG - yummy juice Sautéed Mac Nut & Herb Crusted Fresh Fish - delicious! Duke's Classic Burger Steak & Eggs Fish & Chips

Yelp
last was great time at Dukes. Our waitress Hannah made our dinner fun and very enjoyable and the different kinds of tacos for tacos were delicious

Yelp
We love Duke's! It is a favorite spot for celebrations or just feeling like you're on vacation. The food, drinks, service and ambience are always great and we will continue to come back. Don't forget to order a hula pie for dessert if you saved room.

Yelp
Came here for a date with my wife for lunch. It's pricey but you have a great view of the beach. The food is worth the price. Both my wife and I had enough to eat but not so much that we had that food coma feeling after we were done. Our waitress was great too. And if you have a Huntington city pass, you can park in the nearby lot without paying for parking

Yelp
Fish tacos were delicious! We order a few appetizers. Liked the coconut shrimp and calamari! Hula pie was perfect! Waitress Sarah was helpful and attentive. Great music too!

Yelp
Had a great weekend lunch at Duke's, combining OK food, great dessert, great company, beautiful weather, and an awesome view for a memorable experience. One of six Duke's locations in Hawaii and California (we've been to five of them now), this one in Huntington Beach is located on the beachside of the PCH, allowing for some great views of the pier and all the surfers enjoying themselves on the Beach's famous waves. Since we were going to go on the pier afterwards, we parked in a city garage across the street...which required a little walk to the restaurant but gave an opportunity to do a little sightseeing. I made a reservation the day-of for Sunday brunch, and even though we came almost an hour early, they were able to fit us in 20 minutes, putting our party of three at a table right against the huge windows overlooking the said beach. Unlike some other Duke's, this one in Huntington Beach does not have outdoor dining. In the same building, on the lower floor at beach level is Sandy's Beach Shack (diff restaurant), if outdoor beach dining is what you want. My wife and her mom shared a no-alcohol POG slushie ($10), with Mom stating that she could definitely taste the guava. I got a 20oz Salty Crew Blonde Ale ($11.50) which went great with the heavy food. My Loco Moco ($19) was good, with a dark brown flavorful gravy and a large, good quality hamburger patty that had been cooked over an oven flame (could definitely taste and smell that char). It also came with a sunny side egg, white rice, and an OK mac salad on the side. Mom tried the Ribs and Chicken Plate lunch ($25). The ribs definitely were not fall-off-the-bone, instead had a substantial bite, almost too dry. Mom really enjoyed the huli huli chicken, mac salad, and the macadamia nut coleslaw. My wife had her stand-by: fish & chips ($23). It was beer battered cod with fries, slaw, and a tartar sauce. I got to try a piece, and it was decent: a flaky cod loin with a very heavy beer batter, perhaps a little over-fried. Shoestring fries were a good accompaniment. We were celebrating a birthday, so with that came a complementary Hula Pie Slice (normally $15). It has to be one of my favorite desserts at any restaurant (give me ice cream cake every day and night, please), and the 'slice' was big enough for the three of us to eat as much as we wanted. Quite a few other parties were celebrating a birthday too. Like usual, the pie is so thick that most of it is frozen solid in the middle: a sturdy 'spork' works wonders in this case. Payment was handled via Toast tableside, which made the process easy. Bobby, our waiter, and the team was great throughout, never letting us wait for anything. It was a great experience, and glad we took Mom here for one of her first meals as a new California resident.

Yelp
This was my first time here. I know right this place is an institution! Located on the ocean side of PCH in downtown Huntington Beach the entry is through the city parking lot. You can park there and pay the meter fees or pay valet a flat fee of $10. I chose valet- I made a reservation and arrived a bit early. Nope wouldn't seat me until more of my party showed up! Okay so about four show up and suddenly it's ok to seat us! The restaurant has a great ocean view but our table did not. Our server was okay but not very attentive-had to call him over a few times for things like straws etc. they had three specials and I got the fish tacos. Two grilled fish tacos with flour tortillas and a plate full of tortilla chips. I was disappointed as I thought they should serve the fish tacos with a Cole slaw or green salad not a plate of tortilla chips! The fish was good but the portion was small- maybe 2 oz of fish per taco. Others had burgers, shrimp salad, fish and chips which both loved. Fish and chips was cod fish which they liked. Others had the nut crusted fish meal which comes with macaroni salad, Hawaiian style. The interior is beautiful and very Hawaiian vibe with surfing pictures on the walls and a light airy feel. We had dessert- one of each- ice cream pie, tropical cake with a mound of ice cream and key lime pie. All were good- overall it was a nice vibe, the usual food nothing outstanding and the service was a bit slow- but maybe people like to stretch their dining because the view is great.

Yelp
The food was great. Was tasty yummy and presentation was amazing. It felt classy and nice and was definitely fair priced in its class. Service was spectacular and staff were all amazing. I must say with view of the beach while eating sets a great ambiance as well. Great place!

Yelp
I come here for the weekend brunch and it definitely does not disappoint. Everything taste amazing and the service is great. Make sure you get there early or make a reservation.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at Duke's Huntington Beach! I'm vegetarian so I had the Wild Mushroom & Spinach Ravioli. It had a coconut curry sauce that was not too spicy and I thought it was quite tasty. It was my first time coming, so I was happy that they had a vegetarian meal option. For my beverage I had "The Volcano" which is like a strawberry piña colada (virgin). It was SOOOO GOOD!! I highly recommend it. For dessert we shared the Hula Pie, it was very tasty and HUGE. It had a chocolate cookie crust, macadamia nut ice cream, and chocolate fudge and macadamia nut topping. The service was great, everyone was very welcoming and had a happy attitude. I shared some photos of the decor, it has a Hawaiian theme and is named after Duke Kahanamoku, the father of modern surfing. The location is conveniently right by the beach, 1 minute from the sand.

Yelp
Nice spot to stop for lunch on a hot day at the beach. We split a plate of ribs and chicken and a fruit bowl, both of which were lovely! The mango was fresh, if not entirely ripe (it was close enough). And their iced tea is excellent. I'm picky about tea. What ever brand they're using, they need to keep using it. The servers were friendly without being cloying. The older lady at the front desk was on a little power trip, though. She wouldn't let me be seated because my wife was at the surf shop across the street finishing a transaction (I was sent to secure a table for the two of us).

Yelp
"How about Duke's in Huntington Beach for your birthday?" my buddy asked. "Sure!" I responded. "I've only been to the one in Waikiki, and that was good, so let's go." So we went. And it was SOOOOO Good! We shared a chicken caesar salad and the ribs and chicken platter. DANG, did that hit the spot where all items were very tasty and prepared perfectly. Dude also gave us a free birthday dessert. Staff was phenomenal! GO HERE!

Yelp
Please don't say that we're going to get a window seat and sit completely on the opposite side. There were three tables by the window that were empty untill we were done eating. The recommended fish soup was warm and bland and tasted terrible. My fish plate was bland and had no seasonings. My brother didn't like his fish and chips. His fish had a lot of breading on it and very little fish in it. Despite asking for the fries to be crispy, they came out soggy. Our waiter at times was MIA. A couple of times we had to ask other waitresses for refills on our drinks. I'm pretty much done with this place.

Yelp
Had a delicious breakfast front row seating looking out at the ocean and the beach watching the volleyball games below on the sand. Coconut encrusted French toast was to die for. Also had a Denver style omelette. Everything was so good. Best hollandaise sauce ever homemade. Drew was a great hospitable waiter. Attention to detail.

Yelp
Always a good time at Dukes! Everything I've ever gotten at Duke is really good. We miss going to Duke's in Malibu. We love the service. The food is always good. The drinks are delicious. The ambiance is really nice & all good vibes. I definitely recommend Duke.

Yelp
When we want to feel like we are in Hawaii but really kicking back in Cali we find ourselves at Dukes! Usually we are at Malibu's Duke's, but as we were in Huntington Beach, we stopped in! This is my first time visiting this location since I was a kid and I must tell you not much has changed! We popped down at the bar for some drinks and food. Unlike Malibu the bar is not right along the windows facing the ocean. The bar is located on street side and if window shades are open you may get a bit of view. Otherwise your view is of the restaurant. If this place ever does an overhaul some of the bar should be facing the beach window but I understand the money is in the dinners! The bar is large and rectangular shape. It's an old school wood bar. We had great service at the bar! The bartender told us that he has been with the company for 26 years. Great to see that the company invest in their employees that they want to stay. With regards to food, we always seem to have highs and lows. Our drinks are always good: Mai Thais are always yummy! As for food, the coconut shrimp was a miss: we should have sent it back. They were overcooked and small! As we looked around the restaurant, it looks like all fried food was off. The best coconut shrimp we had was in Kona. And we got the standard fish tacos which were good. The tacos tend to be consistent. The salsa and avocado snack was a good addition. The guacamole was real! Yum! And to finish our meal, we had Hula pie! Hula pies are always good! As you can see from my review always mix feelings about the food but service tends to always be good as well as drinks!

Yelp
Came by last Sunday around noon for lunch. We opted for the Barefoot Bar (in name only). Not a barefoot bar like other locations in which bar seating is in the sand. Place was busy but we were able to get a table quickly. I ordered their Poke Tacos. We also ordered their Black Bean Nachos with chicken. Food was delivered timely and at the right temperature. Food was good but nothing extraordinary. Service was very friendly and efficient. Our server was always smiling. Ambience is relaxing and comfortable.

Yelp
We decided to give Duke's Huntington Beach a try since we've visited Duke's in Waikiki. I thought I wasn't going to be as good as the Waikiki location. However, what really caught my attention about this place was the excellent service. Mind you, we did go at 10am, and the restaurant was not as packed, nonetheless, we still received great service. Our waiter Bobby was very knowledgeable regarding the menu and made great suggestions. He would stop by our table to check on us if we needed any refills for our coffee and was overall just great with us. We also decided to try something new by ordering the Breakfast sandwich and the ribs and chicken plate. The food was amazing as well. This restaurant was an overall great choice!

Yelp
We ate at Dukes in HB for Thanksgiving. My husband and daughter had the Turkey meal and it was good. I ordered the Chicken and Rib plate. The chicken was so hard and dry I couldn't cut it with the knife. They replaced it with a chicken breast that was rubbery in texture and tasted like it had been microwaved. We do like this location, but this experience was not a good one.

Yelp
If you're looking for the best dessert in town, go to Duke's and order the macadamia nuts ice cream! Trust me...you'll be experiencing something amazing. It's like experiencing your first kiss on every bite! The service is pretty legit also as they give you that same Aloha spirit just like Duke's in Hawaii. The ambience is very chill and island vibes. The price is fair for being located in Huntington Beach.
