"One of Clement Street’s litany of dumpling shops, Dumpling Alley, closed quietly in recent weeks. The phone is disconnected, and Yelp reports the restaurant as closed." - Paolo Bicchieri

"The Chinese spot in the Outer Richmond is a great option when you want a casual, easy place to get some satisfying dumplings. The all-stars here are the juicy xiao long bao, pan-fried pork buns with perfectly crunchy sesame seed bottoms, and the pork and napa cabbage dumplings. Dumpling Alley also has a board of daily chef's specials to consider. For non-dumpling things you'll find scallion pancakes, shredded chicken salads, and a range of noodles in soups and sauces." - Lani Conway

"Best known for its best-in-class xiao long bao, which are unavailable for the time being, Dumpling Alley is now selling bags of several varieties frozen dumplings (from pork and sweet corn to pork, shrimp, and chives) — a bag of 20 will run you $10 or $11, depending on the variety. You can purchase and pick the dumplings directly at the restaurant, which is open 11:30 a.m.–8 p.m. every day except Monday." - Luke Tsai

I thought this place was alright. The xiao long bao was good. Supposedly, based on the menu, there's a limited number of xlb dishes they serve daily so keep that in mind (I asked when I called). The zhajiangmian was a bit disappointing. It needed some more sauce as I had a fair amount of naked noodles. Pork and shrimp dumplings were solid. I'll definitely try out their other variations of dumplings as they offer plenty. I got the seasonal vegetables to round out my meal, but it was really just cabbage with some vermicelli. Expected a bit more for the price. I got the pan fried pork buns thinking it would be like the shangahi pan fried soup dumpling style, but it was really just a dim sum steam pork bun with a crispy bottom. I'd pass on it in the future. Overall, I will give this place another shot one day as I want to like this place.

The server was really nice. Recommended a lot of extra dishes to consider - we got the soy milk due to this. It was good. The Beef, onion, carrot, and celery was the best one out of the family delight plate for me.

The service here was really good; very attentive waiter/waitress. We ordered the pan fried pork bun, fried tofu, xiao long nap, some dumplings and noodles with braised beef. All the food was great at decent price. I really enjoyed the pan fried pork bun and braised beef with noodles. I would recommend anyone looking for dumplings or noodle soup.

The best dumplings, pot stickers, and buns! I've ordered Dumpling Alley to-go and ate in person and both times were phenomenal. The scallion pancakes, tossed glass noodles, stir-fried shrimp, pork and bok choy wontons, pan fried vegetable buns, and pork and shrimp dumplings with squid ink were highlights! I appreciate the simplistic menu and high quality of Dumpling Alley.

For a dumpling house, the dumplings are not very authentic, nor very good. Scallion pancake was fine though. Service a bit slow but polite. The fried buns tasted much closer to proper authentic Asian food.

This is the spot! Dumplings are super juicy, big (filling!), and the beef noodle soup has a really nice comforting flavor that would make you want to come back. Ask for extra hot sauce on the side! The owners are very kind, and can give good recommendations if you tell them what you like!

Excellent dumplings. The skin was very fresh and chewy. The Thai basil special is definitely a good pick as well. I also recommend the beef stew (comes with bok choy). I wasn't a fan of the xlb though (lacked soup inside). Prices are very reasonable and service is fast.

Dumplings were very very good! My husband and I tried the family special and really like the pork, shrimp and chives dumplings but were impressed with the dumpling that had Thai basil! I would skip the beef pepper pancake; not bad tasting in anyway but boring in flavor. I would definitely recommend this place and order take out in the near future.
