20 Iconic Dishes That Define Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation
"Oh, Burgermaster. Your cheeseburgers, shakes, and panko-crusted onion rings dunked in Ken’s ranch have made the world go round since 1952. But the real kingpin is their Dungeness melt. Together, crustacean strands fuse with nutty aged swiss to create this homogenous crabby paste swaddled by griddled sourdough. Forget Taylor Shellfish or Ray’s—get the good Dungeness here in the comfort of your driver’s seat." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley, gabe guarente

"Running October 6–8, the Port Angeles Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival is back in full and promises mountains of crab delivered by a dedicated fleet of boats; admission is free but the crabs are not, with advance tickets for full and half crab dinners priced at $40 and $25 respectively (and likely more expensive onsite)." - Harry Cheadle

"For the first time since 2019, I learned the Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival—also known simply as Crabfest—returns to Port Angeles from October 7 to 9, offering the chance to eat fresh Dungeness crab harvested and cooked nearby and supplied by executive director Scott Nagel's own fleet of crab boats that harvest from the Strait of Juan de Fuca. During its last rendition the festival served nine tons of crab in three days; the crabs are harvested in the week leading up to the festival, brought alive each day, cleaned and cooked on site, served with corn and coleslaw, and typically weigh around two pounds each. Preorders for crab dinners are $40 (or $21 for half a crab) on the festival's website, a cooked and cleaned crab with no sides is $35, and the festival is offering curbside pickup Friday and Saturday. Beyond crab, the event will feature live music, a beer and wine garden, and about 60 seafood-focused dishes from local restaurants, ranging from Caribbean seafood stew to pan-seared Alaskan weathervane scallops." - Jade Yamazaki Stewart
As someone who's lived in Everett since 2002, I can confidently say this was the most welcoming experience I've ever had in Washington. Everyone we met at the Crab festival greeted us with a smile, showing a genuine appreciation for visitors. The community radiated such great energy that I am truly impressed and will be making this an annual tradition

Always enjoy the ferry ride. The crab was sooo good, cole slaw was bland, corn on the cob was shriveled and tasteless. Some of the music was really good, didn't hear it all. Fun to visit the arts & crafts booths. Went to Swains, also in Port Angeles, had to get the fresh popcorn.

This was my fourth time coming to the Crab fest and once again I was not disappointed!! The fresh crab is fabulous and very affordable!!! Your ticket is good all day. There's always music and several vendors in the tent and on the pier. There's also many other food options available as well. And we always meet really nice people at the communal tables. Always fun!! Will be going next year too!!

It was quaint, organized and staff overall was pleasant! They ran out of crab dinners fairly quickly. Highly recommend to pre-order your crab plate/dinner! Market price if you did not pre-order was around $3. They offer whole crab and half. There are food trucks, as well.

We visited early on the opening day of 2023. The weather was amazing, the food was great, and I enjoyed seeing the vendors. We did not stay for the evening shows.
