"The view from this waterfront setting on Montauk’s Fort Pond Bay is one of the most spectacular in the Hamptons and draws crowds, especially at sunset. Apart from lobster rolls and burgers, portions are mainly family style, and the massive Lobster Cobb Salad with huge chinks of crustacean, and the 2 pound grilled market fish are legendary. Rose is so popular here that this lobster deck has its own branded bottles." - Beth Landman
"Duryea's in Montauk is just heaven. Every time I'm in Montauk, I make it a point to go there, mostly for lunch. Their lobster salad costs a million dollars, but it's so good and you can share it with everyone. The vibe is always good outside as long as the weather is great, and honestly, even if the weather is bad. I just love being on the water. Most of my spots in the Hamptons are typically drawn towards that, especially like when you're trying to get away from the city and you want that breeze and water, whether it's at the beach or at a restaurant. Also like, you know, a glass of rosé or a Loverboy and a lobster roll? It doesn't get more Hamptons than that."—Lindsay Hubbard" - brennan carley
"Duryea’s was a Montauk classic for years, and a place where you ate lobster off paper plates. It's still a spot to eat lobster, but after a takeover and renovation a few years ago, you won't be doing that on a paper plate anymore. Soak in the exceptional water views to feel like you’re probably, likely (definitely), on a fancy vacation. We’re fans of all the raw bar items, as well as the huge (though very pricey) shareable salads, such as the mixed greens and garden vegetable salad with tarragon vinaigrette. They don't take reservations, so plan accordingly." - melissa kravitz hoeffner, team infatuation

"Duryea’s may always be remembered as an extremely low-key, BYOB, eat-lobster-off-a-plastic-plate sort of situation, but was taken over by new ownership circa 2016, and is now the kind of place where people order magnums of rosé and seafood towers before a game of credit card roulette. You still order at a counter, though, so the result is something between a chill lobster deck and Malibu chic, but with an East Coast attitude. They don’t take reservations, so come early." - melissa kravitz hoeffner, team infatuation
