The 6 Best Farmers Markets In Houston - Houston - The Infatuation

"When: every Sunday from 10am to 2pm The East End block is hot. This weekly event is just as much a produce market as a local craft fair. It’s also a great way to get some local goods while waiting for a brunch table at Ninfa’s On Navigation because there are as many people here selling vegetables as huaraches. Everyone is either watching someone demonstrate honey harvesting, or taking selfies in front of one of the many colorful esplanade murals. And, sometimes a mariachi band shows up. Apart from great food, you never know what to expect in the East End." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene, julie takahashi

This is an excellent place to get fresh produce during the warmer seasons. Not only is there plenty of variety in vegetables (one stall has consistently had around 8 varieties of garlic) and fruits from farmers in the area, there's almost always fresh BBQ, pierogis, cheeses, pasta, and a Greek stall as well. The best part is, you can eat a meal while you shop and socialize with the very friendly salespeople. It's a great way to end a Monday.

My favorite market in the city! Great organic and certified naturally grown produce options, fresh pasta, flowers, baked goods, and more - all my favorite vendors! Plus there is a booth there that allows folks who receive SNAP/EBT benefits to redeem them at the market, which is totally awesome. I really hope the city figures out a good alternative location - I know that lot is slated for development soon...

I love Farmer's markets, and this one especially. The variety of vendors and quality is outstanding. Few things beat being able to get to know the people that grow the food you eat. Running into neighbors as you do? A great combo.

Incidentally found this place today while running an errand, and though it's still early in the summer and still a bit cold outside, there were plenty of quality vendors present. Lots of organic produce, locally sourced food, and variety to be found. Reasonable prices, but may want to bring cash. It's there every Monday now through Thanksgiving from 3pm-7pm.

My favorite market in the city. A good mix of general and specialty produce, prepared foods, and hot cooked food. Many vendors have been attending consistently for years and really build relationships with shoppers.

Stumbled on this gem by accident. 3-7 on Mondays means it's not super crowded and with the way they set it up we felt very socially distance safe. The Who Cooks for You farm was there and they have great organic fruits and veggies!

Someone was there to explain the process to me and the selection available was very good. Plenty of room to move around.
