On the Grid : Eataly

"The Disney World of food. Makes me feel like I'm back at FAO Swartz, twenty some-odd years ago. Pick your flavor, literally– homemade everything imported fresh from where people care about what they package and sell as food. If you get bored, they are around 17 (more like 5) restaurants right there to entertain you. The rooftop beer garden also doesn't hurt." - Anti/Anti

Mario Batali Is Attempting a Virtual Comeback | Bon Appétit

"A high-profile New York food marketplace and event venue where the chef was once a part owner; when asked about returning to do live demonstrations there he signaled a breakup with the city—saying, in effect, 'Me and New York, we have parted ways'—suggesting no near-term comeback at that venue." - BySam Stone

Too Good To Go’s App Has Created a Chicago Community - Eater Chicago

"Every night at 8:19, a race begins across Chicago to be the first to grab a coveted item — a $9.99 bag of Eataly pasta. The bag is a surprise: Inside could be wrapped skeins of squid ink or spinach pasta, tucked rounds of focaccia, fig jam ravioli, or something else — all “cartoonishly good,” according to a customer familiar with the frantic process. The bag’s contents are perfectly edible and freshly made, but the clock’s just past Eataly’s desired sell-by time, so they list the bag on Too Good To Go. The app, which launched in 2015 in Denmark and arrived in 2021 in Chicago (it’s also in major cities like New York, Miami, and Seattle) allows supermarkets, bakeries, and restaurants to sell bags of food otherwise marked to be thrown out, like day-old pastries or misordered entrees. Chicagoans have to be quick with their fingers to reserve and pay for some of the app’s most popular offerings. Nearly every night, Eataly’s bags — which normally retail at the store for around $30 — sell out by 8:20 p.m." - Pearse Anderson

13 Nonalcoholic Cocktails to Try in NYC | Eater

"The new Spezia (Seedlip Spice 94, apple juice, ginger beer, lemon) doesn’t have any booze in it, but it still makes the perfect start to a meal at La Pizza & La Pasta A Colori. You’ll want to be fully alert for the full sensory experience at the new immersive restaurant; it’s in partnership with the Color Factory. Dine and drink under the colorful kaleidoscope canopy while you sip on your nonalcoholic cocktail and split the La Carbonara Arancione Per Due, a carbonara for two made with heirloom eggs with golden yolks. See, colorful!" - Vox Creative
