The 26 Best Restaurants In Mumbai

"Ekaa is an upscale restaurant in Fort that highlights hyper-seasonal Indian ingredients, and treats them with the love a local jeweler might have for emeralds—fermenting, emulsifying, and roasting them so they feel refreshingly new. The minimal, slightly industrial space with the glass roof doesn’t adhere to a single cuisine, so every dish that lands on your table is full of remarkable surprises. The finger-long house sausage looks tiny, and tastes so big. The just-picked butterhead lettuce is the powerhouse lead actor to its supporting character cast of onion dressing, sesame emulsion, silken tofu, courgette, and salmon sashimi, because it needs very little work to shine. Never leave without trying their fried chicken, which maxes out its savouriness with soy pickle, egg yolk jam, and fermented cauliflower. Whether you go for the totally-worth-it 10-course tasting menu (₹4500-₹4800 per person, reserve ahead), walk up to the bar for the Ayurveda-inspired clarified cocktails and tapas menu, or order a la carte, expect simplicity at its finest." - roshni bajaj sanghvi

We got the Christmas tasting menu, some cocktails and some of us got the wine pairing. Overall a great experience considering the price we paid. A tasting menu for the Indian palate should mean you say 'wow' or atleast 'nice' after every course and Ekaa delivered. 5/7 courses were awesome, the fired chicken was a tad salty for me and the last dessert course was just ok. We were too stuffed to appreciate it maybe. Vegetarian food was hit and miss, the carrots we had were underwhelming. In any case, highly recommend trying it if you are in Mumbai. Interestingly they have an ala carte menu as well. I didn't try the cocktails or wine pairing but my party members were happy with it.

Very nice restaurant and amazing service! Every dish has its complexity and is unique! Everything was nice, however, it seems the chef there just has a passion for ginger! The was so much ginger in the dishes that at times it was too overpowering to be honest. The tapas were exceptional and amazing! The Sourdough and Mochi was just amazing! The mains let me down a bit because of the significant ginger inside it.

Had read about this place about being underrated but must have. Went for the full degustation to try every dish. Entree, main and Ayurvedic type cocktails were pretty good. Desserts were quite average and not that yummy or impactful. How western desserts are approached in western countries are amazing - don’t know but my view is stick to Indian desserts done differently.

Every bite was packed with flavor. I ordered the Mac and cheese and it was perfectly cooked — tender, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The dessert was also a standout. You can tell they put real care into their ingredients and preparation and ingredients were fresh and prepared with skill. The place itself has a chill vibe, super friendly staff, and great music. Whether you’re going on a date, hanging with friends, or just treating yourself (because you deserve it!), this is the place.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding – friendly, attentive, and very professional. On top of that, the chef came out to meet us and shared her culinary concept, which was a truly unique and inspiring experience. Overall, it was a real feast for the senses and an excellent culinary journey. Highly recommended!

Had an amazing experience at Ekaa! The food was creative without being over the top. Every dish had a clear story and flavor that actually worked. The staff took time to explain each course, and you can tell how much thought goes into everything here. Definitely one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in Mumbai.

An appreciation message for one of the girls during lunch service- I don’t remember who it was but - my friend who works with leaves and textile design took the skeleton leaf garnish from my cocktail. She’d put it on the table waiting for it to dry. This girl noticed and came along with a box of tissues so that my friend could carefully put the leaf between paper and keep it safe and dry. All of us at the table noticed it but somehow while leaving we forgot to mention it and show our appreciation for her. But I this is what sets apart the best restaurants from the good ones. It’s not just food, which Ekaa is obviously excellent at, but it is this attention to detail that keeps us coming back. This is what makes Ekaa Ekaa.

Visited Ekaa and was pleasantly surprised! The menu is refreshingly unique—far from the usual clichés. The food was excellent, the ambiance beautifully planned, and the open, hygienic kitchen adds to the charm. The staff was polite, helpful, and even offered a tour of the thoughtfully designed space. A truly different and memorable dining experience!
