Pretty hidden taco place in a residential area. Kitchen is quite small, so when they get overwhelmed with orders, it'll take awhile. Almost always get the Gallo Fries every time I stop by. Tacos aren't too bad, but don't get the gringa taco, not really worth it imo. Baby burrito is best bang for it's buck. The chicken is really good and what they're known for. It's got a varying menu, from the one in store to the pamphlet takeout ones. Would definitely recommend to people, just be patient with their long lead times.

Hidden gem in Brooklyn. I found out about this place around a year ago and I think this is one of the best authentic place in Brooklyn. Food is delicious, staff is very polite. Prices are decent and wait is not long. Highly recommended place!!!

After waiting almost 2 hours to receive our order online, we were super hungry and at least couldn’t wait to eat. I have a sensitivity to spicy food so I always play safe and go for mild, or foods with little to no heat. That being said, when taking my first bite I noticed a LOT of heat from something that shouldn’t have been at all. I decided to move on. After having a single bite of guacamole, I felt a heat like someone poured hot lava on my face and lips, and all down my throat. I will NEVER order from here again

Awesome and authentic food. A huge plus is that they're open late and are fast to make your order, even when there's a lot of orders to fulfill. They usually have deals on Ubereats and since I'm only a block away, I go pick up my order. Comes out really cheap! 8/31/22 Update - ordered again and they were so kind to leave this note!

The service was friendly, and the place is very clean. I ordered a chicken bowl and it was nicely arranged, it included a fair amount of chicken for the price as well. The guacamole tasted pureed and did not have the usual ingredients (just onion, some jalapeño). It was a minimal portion which I happily spooned to one corner to focus on everything else as I like my guac hand mashed not pureed. The chicken lacked flavor but I mixed it in with the beans, rice, and pico and it was okay to say the least thanks to the jalapeño and onion in the pico to give it a kick. I am disappointed as I had high expectations based on the previous reviews. I won't be returning but at least I've crossed this off my bucket list.

They were once good, now they're terrible. Recently my gf and I ordered for pickup. After 40 min we arrive because it was marked ready to find out they never started. They told my gf to wait a few minutes. I came in 15 min to check up to find out they still did not start and intended for her to wait for the other 40 printed orders to be completed. Yes, they marked them all ready! Today we ordered and 2 hrs later no food. Rude customer service, not apologetic ever . Food quality down hill.

I ordered after 11pm and the tacos still yazted fresh and was presented so well. The sauce wasn't too spicy.i loved every minute

Where do I start? I'm in love with the Baby Burrito!!, you get a 10inch flour tortilla with your choice of filling and cheese, beans, rice, pico de gallo, guac, and Crema. I normally get a shrimp burrito with everything except avocado and extra Guacasalsa(Best sauce ever!!). When I say SEASONED! It's Seasoned!, spicy! Flavorful and so good! I can eat it everyday but I don't want my back to get extra big! But this is the only thing I order. I only order through Uber eats but one day I'll go in person to see the ambiance and service. But please El gallo! Never stops making delicious food 11/10 def recommend. Ps: I only have two pics because I keep forgetting to take more, I go straight to eating lol.

I'll never order from here again. El gallo used to be good now it's soggy food that takes over an hour for delivery and invested with bugs.

El Gallo was such a great place for us to enjoy a nice hearty meal and with their advertised promotions on Ubereats, it was even better! However, they quickly went from reasonable to ridiculous and the quality did not improve or even stay the same and it's just been worse. One day the baby burritos were $7 then jumped to $9.25. Gallo fries $12 then $15. Their side of salsa was $1.50 then jumped to $3.00 (double??) and pretty much everything else jumped up in price for us seemingly overnight since we were frequenting so much. There was no gradual increase at all. In addition, they are super stingy on the salsa. They give you a teeny cup, but it's hit or miss if you get a "full container" and we always buy extra anyway, but really feel "forced" to get more with how little is received nowadays and those are also not always filled up either!FORGET about asking for another mini container - they will straight up tell you no. You also get the same tiny sized container if you get the baby or the regular burrito. The only thing that feels the same is the $1.00 upcharge for certain meats and the taste is good, but it's hard to enjoy when you feel like you're getting effed - oh and when it's dripping all over and covered in grease making it soggy and not keep it's shape. Even with the Ubereats BOGOs, it no longer feels worth it. Maybe we will be back once in awhile, but sadly, we won't be regulars anymore.

Don't be fooled by the good deal on Uber Eats. Wish I took pictures to show how unpresentable the food looked. By the time food arrived it was cold and soggy. Pinto beans made the entire dish mushy and tasteless. Lettuce everywhere for no reason. Flavors are not there. And the meat portion on the steak bowl is less then Chipotle. (The meat strips were so thin we couldn't even tell of that was steak.). Giving them 2 stars instead of 1 or 0 to be nice.

They were good, but not anymore. The meat in my al pastor burrito was crunchy dry. There are a lot of good places around, but sadly El Gallo stopped being one of them.

The chef was very rude and refused to add sautéed peppers to the meal, even though I have ordered this many times before.

Okay yall, back with another update. 3.5 star review! After seeing the super professional response to my review from their Management team, I felt it was only right and fair to give them another chance. We love accountability over here! I'm still gonna keep it real though, we're gonna through the good, the bad, and the ugly. I ordered 5 tacos and a tamal late night, they were about 20 minutes from closing. They have a BOGO deal on Ubereats for a few of their menu items, tacos being one of them. The last time I had their chorizo was when I ordered from them for the very first time and I never ordered it again. I decided to give it another shot because the menu description was different, so I assumed they updated the recipe. It went from ground beef to ground pork so I was hopeful it would be real chorizo this time around. The other 4 were Tinga, 2 Carnitas and 1 Suadero. I still stand by what I said about their tortillas. They're so flimsy and always fall apart on me. Not the biggest fan. The chorizo still needs a lot of work. It has the consistency of Taco Bell meat without any flavor. Idk if that's what they're going for and maybe I'm just not seeing the vision? But I've never had Chorizo that tastes like that from anywhere else. Was it better than the first time I had it? Yes. But that's not saying much. It's my favorite taco filling of all time so I've tried many and this one is literally nowhere near the Top 20. The Tinga was good, well seasoned and just the right amount of spice. The Carnitas tacos were okay if I'm being completely honest. The pork was a little dry and bland so I only ate one of them. I mean you can literally see in the picture there's barely any color to the meat, no char, nothing. That's where flavor comes from so you do the math. The star of the taco show was the suadero. I instantly regretted not getting two of them instead because it was SO GOOD. Tender, flavorful, savory. All around yum. The best thing I ate that night. The tamales are always good so I expected nothing less.

Placed an online takeout order and was thoroughly not impressed with the Brick & Mortar version of this restaurant. Food was flavorless and even though I picked it up within 15 min. of placing the order, everything was either cold or lukewarm at best. The only item that had some oomph to it was their Guacamole. The cheese quesadilla was terribly bland and the cheese seemed congealed. The carne asada meat in the burrito was tough and even included a few gristle pieces. Not sure if it was because it was after 9:00 pm and they were left with scraps, but if a place says they're open late, that shouldn't be an excuse not to serve hot and edible offerings. Their prices were not terrible, so I will most likely give them another shot down the road when I'm in the area.

This place is a hidden gem for our cozy little residental neighborhood. To have authentic quality tacos so close by is a real blessing . The tacos shells are so soft and flavorful. The baby burritos are the hidden value item on the menu such a great value. Love the carne asada filling so well seasoned. Carnita pork is so juicy Spicy tinga surprisingly flavorful which is a compliment to the restaurant since chicken is a hard protein to get right** The fresh juice selection adds to the authenticity of the place love the horchata perfect Balance of sweet cinnamon and creaminess. Also everything tastes better with classic Mexican coke ** Pro tip** they also have a solid beer selection as well. Next pro tip** uber eats has BOGO TACOS on a semi regular basis so take advantage when you can as a bonus Tamales are well made and include flavorful sauce Green sauce tart and flavorful with a full taste with a kick personal favorite Warning the spicy salsas are authentic quality so they are really spicy but have such depth of flavor !! Really good BOGOFree deals on UberEats sometimes! Carnitas Bowl: love the carnitas, which they give a good portion of. I've always gotten big pieces of fat along with the flavorful meat, which I know might not be everyone's thing, but I definitely enjoy it with some melt in the mouth fatty bites. All the components, tho not much variety if you're not paying extra, of the bowl are delicious, especially the soft, flavorful rice and the dollops of creama on top. YUM Carne Asada Fries: since it's delivery, it's expectedly soggy, but it didn't ruin my enjoyment for this dish! The sauce (Mayo?) for this is so good and they use real steak as a protein here that is cooked well. I love the cheese and crema, but whisked there was a lot more cheese for more bites of salty, cheesy goodness!

high yield mexican It's really hard to resist the buy one get one free deal on uber eats. Got 4 tacos and 2 baby burritos (tho it actually wasn't that small??). Service was speedy and actually was really good. Tried the carne asada, suadero, al pastor, and chicken. Beef and el pastor was excellent, juicy and popping with flavor. Chicken was a little dry but still good. Tacos had a ton of meat in them (I would say they are higher yield if you are a meat lover) and the burritos had a lot of rice and beans and grilled just the way I like it. Overall an amazing value and great taste, gna try the tortas and birria next time.

I found this place on Yelp. I walked on over one day because I was craving some Mexican food. There is outdoor seating around 4-5 tables. The restaurant is super BUSY! Lots of delivery people are in and out! My goodness as I was there waiting for 15-20 mins I must've seen 10 diff delivery people picking up food. I was just thinking to myself "wow this food Has GOT to be good." When I got home with my order it was still hot and fresh. It did taste incredible! Enchilada were delish! The next time I ordered some tacos and it was very good as well. Solid place.

We went here with my mom on Tuesday, and we've been going here a long time, but last time we went we tried the tacos with skinny sliced radish on top and fell In love again. I will be changing my regular order to those tacos 100%. Other than the food, I always come here and the customer service is always top notch as Gladys makes sure of that! Every time we come she makes our experience so nice and enjoyable, which adds to the amazing food. My fav place.

I just moved this area and big I'm big fan of Mexican cuisine. This place became my favourite spot to eat. I got tacos and didn't know what to get for drink, and Gladys gave me to try several frozen drinks. My choice was pina colado which was mind blowing as Gladys promised me! Highly recommended, will be back soon.

I really wanted to give this place a chance because of the awesome Uber Eats discount (buy one item get one free). What I selected was the Tinga De Pollo (Chipotle coated shredded chicken) taco. Was very pleased with how quick delivery was but my heart sunk the moment I tried the tacos. The taco soft shell was stale and my taco fillings did not have a kick to it whatsoever. I kept digging through the taco waiting for that yummy spicy filling flavor that's in many Mexican cuisines. It did not hit the spot. Even the texture was off. Maybe I ordered the wrong items from this place, just maybe. Perhaps next time I should go with my instincts to order the Carne Asada Gallo fries or the tortas.

After having a great dine-in experience, decided to place an order through UberEats. Food took a bit over 1 hr to be delivered (within a mile of distance). However, the delivery was not the issue and the reason why I am giving them 3 stars... Ordered a shrimp baby burrito, a birria quesadilla and esquites (corn on a cob in a cup). It was my second time ordering the shrimp burrito and it was just as delicious as it was the first time dining in, a must! It has a nice kick to it and can get quite spicy at the end. The birria quesadilla was the sloppiest, tiniest quesadilla I've ever had. The meat was pretty good but it felt a bit too salty for my taste, maybe if they went easy on the salt it would have been better. The esquites was the worst!!!! I couldn't even eat 1/4 of it. It was super watery and extremely sour, like it was spoiled. It was my first time trying esquites but from what I've seen, it should not be watery. Maybe I am wrong and that's how it was supposed to be, but it was terrible. Watery mayo with cheese and sour... definitely not a good combo. My experience dining in was definitely better. I would go back but definitely avoiding the quesadillas and esquites.

Tasty food for cheap can't beat that. The burritos are a must try and if you dare add the habanero hot sauce they make.

I did not know what to expect, but I was starving on a Friday night and this popped up on Uber Eats. Since there was a buy one get one special, I went to town on ordering. Let me begin with from the time I ordered, to when it got delivered, everything was still warm and fresh. My first bites into the burrito bowl amazed with me with flavorful rice, beans, guac and sour cream. The al pastor flavor is certainly the best with pineapple and char flavoring. Then, onto the tacos which was a little too oily because it felt the tortillas were either drenched in oil or fried. This one I may pass next time. Ending with burritos was a great idea, it was stuffed and heavy. Out of all the meats we tried the al pastor, and the beef with cheddar cheese melt was the best. Definitely will be ordering again from this place !

Great local taco shop, my favorite is the churro bowl. It is amazing, the churro are freshly made, crispy and warm and the ice cream taste like horchata or a cinnamon vanilla mixture. It will not disappoint. The fries are really good too with your topping of protein on top, heavy but delicious and filling. The tacos are good, birria is my fav, I also tried the al pastor, and barbacoa ones, sometimes the meat are a bit overcook and dried. They have different sauce but on the light spicy side, so usually I would pick medium but I had the spicy and it was good.

Very disappointed! The Servies is bad . They more care about delivery then actually sit in costumers . Food very greasy ! French fries for the Gallo fries it's warmed up fries fully soaked with oil. Not fresh . When I showed the guy he does not care . I was refused to eat it . We waited for our drink more then 10min And then we ask the guy for it he finally start poor it out . Nobody else was sitting there . Update Me and my friend get food poisoning. We and up in the hospital end of the day . I never eat here again

Made an order for delivery this week, I've never eaten here before but the reviews for this spot are great so I had to check it out. I ordered a medium side of guacamole, I had chips at home, it was enough for three people. I wish I asked for no cilantro as there was a lot but it was good, spicy! I also ordered a mild (guacasalsa is green, very tasty) and a medium salsa (Chile de Arbol, a tomato base that has a spicy kick at the end. Thank god I didn't get a spicer salsa, this was a hot as I can't take). For my meal I ordered four tacos to try the different fillings. Tinga de Pollo was delicious. The chipotle shredded chicken had so much flavor. The Piccadilly taco was also delicious! The seasoned beef taco was a great elevated version you would find other places. I highly suggest these two! The other tacos I ordered were the Al Pastor and the Carnitas taco. These were good but very dry. I ended up having to douse it in salsa. I probably wouldn't order these again, but they have a bunch of other tacos to try so I'll be fine. Delivery was good, didn't take that long from when I ordered. Everything was packed really nice, I especially loved how the tacos were packed together but were separated from each other with parchment paper. Would love to come and eat here when things go back to normal a bit.

One of the freshest and deliciously tasting Mexican spots I've been to!!!! I kid you not I have not been so happy eating my food in a while. Everything was on point!!! The seasonings, the way it was cooked! Wow like wow!! Will be coming back.

I've had this place bookmarked for awhile and am glad I got to try it today! We ordered: - 4 different taco types; al pastor, chorizo, lengua and barbacoa. - barbacoa cemita - carne asada quesadilla - mole chicken wings The tacos and wings were the high points of the meal. If I had to rank the entire order, it would be: - barbacoa taco (melt in your mouth beef) - mole chicken wings; the mole is earthy and chocolatey - lengua taco; you have to pay extra for this. The tongue is tender but you don't get much of it even though you have to pay extra (less than the filling of other tacos as well) - carne asada quesadilla; not bad but for the price, I should have just ordered more tacos. On my not a fan list: - chorizo; it's pretty much like mushy spicy ground beef. Maybe it's the texture that made this unsatisfying. - al pastor; pretty meh - barbacoa cemita; I really love the taco but this sandwich was really bad. There are these leaves in the sandwich that are super floral, not enough barbacoa and the flavor ends up being spicy, overwhelming amounts of bread and strong floral leaf. Stick with the tacos and wings!

I FOUND MY NEW FAVORITE TACO SPOT!!! It is a small neighborhood corner taco shop with a HUGE menu and delicious flavors! I love the tacos and the tortilla shell is one of the best I ever had! The food is always so freshly made and never once did I have a problem with my order. I love how I can customize my order and spice level of each item for each of my family member/friends. My favorite tacos are the steak, shrimp, and chipotle chicken. The burrito was HUGE and could be shared amongst two-three people! The gallo wings have a really good arbol salsa sauce! The jalapeño wings were extremely spicy, but the chicken was very juicy. El Gallo Taqueria is ALWAYS busy! Make sure you order ahead because I waited almost an hour for my food every time I order for pickup from ChowNow. I would expect a long wait-time for delivery too but they literally have like 10 delivery guys (on bikes and cars). Order with your phone ahead of time, I got my mobile discount!

A bad delivery solved by great service by employees. I ordered 4 tacos on Ubereats for delivery at around 9:15 PM and it was expected to show up at 10:00 PM to 10:20 PM. However, these tacos never showed up, I believe they went to the wrong address. I was in a bad mood and I called the restaurant. The employee that answered my phone was extremely professional and apologized a lot. He did not argue with me about whether or not the delivery had been delivered and instantly offered to replace the order. Afterward, he offered me a free guac and chips with a coke. Tacos were decent. Not the best I have ever had nor the worst. Everything but the pork belly tacos blended together and tasted the same. The pork belly tacos had crispy meat and a unique flavor. I do not think everyone would enjoy it but I did. The guac and chips were fantastic. The guac tasted extremely fresh and the chips were crunchy. TLDR - 5/5 Service 3.5/5 tacos.

solid modern spot for tacos and burritos in the southern part of brooklyn. Only tried the tacos this time around. nice double corn tortilla tacos with onions and cilantro. proteins are finely chopped. I would say fish tacos usually aren't on the spicy side, but the fish taco here has achiote sauce and is a bit spicy.

I have gotten a pulled pork burrito (regular sized burrito was worth it but their burritos are shrinking!! so the baby burrito is especially not worth it for the price and size) and churro bowl (slightly bitter at first) here before. That was good. But their tacos ain't it. I got 4 chorizo tacos for $14. The chorizo tasted like chorizo to a certain extent. Yes, the spice is there. But it felt so liquidated and minced. It was like I was eating spicy sloppy joe in a taco. I would not recommend it. For those who never had agua fresca tamarindo, it kind of tastes like apple juice (which is perfect because I was deciding between the agua fresca tamarindo and sidral). I would recommend trying it. Oh and also they have paper straws!!! The food is a bit pricey for the serving size but most of the stuff tastes good.

Sad af because I heard so many good things about this place & I really wanted to love it!! Ordered via their app & pick up was estimated for 30 min. But food wasn't ready until an hour - no worries though because I heard the people taking deliveries saying the wait would be an hour. They were HUSTLING in there with a whole table filled with delivery orders. So the wait wasn't too bad. (This is Friday night around 8:30) We got 2 orders of gallo fries (one with chicken one with ground beef), 1 order of nachos with shrimp, and 2 baby burritos. The good: the pickled onions on top of the nachos, the guacamole, the sauces (Jesus Christ I could literally put their sauces on everything) and the shrimp was pretty good too. The baby burrito was the perfect service size & tortilla was warm and delicious. Disappointment: man the $12 fries were a greasy mess. They all stuck together, were soft af, and cold. We chose the wrong topping for fries when it came to the ground beef because it ended up tasting like chili so we'll try something else next time. The nachos were ok . As for the burrito the rice was cold too and the steak was hard . We probably just came at a bad time because they were so busy - my friend really liked his chicken burrito so I'll probably get that next time!! Will definitely come back at a less busy time!

The first time I had food from here I thought it was absolutely wonderful. However, every time after that it gradually got worse and worse to the point where I no longer wish to buy food from here. I don't know what happened but whatever it is wasn't good and the last time I decided to give it a try I was absolutely repulsed.

First time trying this place out , I was in the mood for birria tacos. Two tacos came in the small container, they were surprisingly good. Didn't give a 5 star due to not being aware the consome wasn't included :(. The two pretty much go hand in hand but now I know going forward what to do.

3.5 stars Fast casual Mexican place that has tacos, burritos and tortas. I got tacos and the torta with various meat fillings in each. I got the campechano torta which comes with steak, chorizo and Chicharron. It'll fill you up as any proper torta/cemita should. Note that the chicharron are the chips version and not fried pork meat. Got the mild green salsa which was fresh and tasty.

I called to have a delivery and they informed me that now, NO MORE CREDIT CARDS will be acceptable. DELIVERIES MUST BE IN CASH. I wonder what the IRS has to say about that? I was caught off guard with my granddaughter having to spend the day with me. Her school was virtual due to the affects from the Canadian fires. Left with no choice, I placed the order and had to pick it up leaving her alone. When I went to the store to pick up the food and calmly complain about their LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, I was greeted by an immature snotty self absorbed employee that basically laughed in my face. TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT for me as a paying customer. I stated that their competition around the corner from me has a "C" rating for the past 5 months. That is why I go to el gallo and this establishment should be capitalizing on their deficiencies, not alienating customers. In addition, when I got home, THE ORDER WAS INCOMPLETE. When I called back to complain about my shortage, I asked if there was an owner/manager. I was told he was there. When I asked to speak with them, they told me he wasn't there. WHO TODAY DOESN'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS FOR DELIVERIES? IF A CARD IS DECLINED, THEN NO DELIVERY. Pretty simple business model. There is absolutely no reason why this special circumstance of taking my credit card over the phone could not be accommodated. REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE from this poor excuse of an employee WOULD HAVE BEEN TO SAY "OK, WE WILL ACCOMMODATE YOU THIS TIME BUT NEXT TIME, ALL DELIVERIES MUST BE IN CASH." I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS NON CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED CASH BURYING excuse of a business again. If you like being insultingly laughed at when they take your $$$, this is your kind of place. Soo yummy!! I ordered takeout- food was done pretty quickly (way before estimated time). I got their chipotle chicken burrito and the carne asada gallo fries. Burrito was nice and heavy packed with rice and chicken. The habanero sauce has a great kick to it! Fries fasted even better reheated in the oven, did not disappoint. One of my fav new places, will be coming here again - atmosphere of restaurant is also very nice for dining in.

Food is good but the staff keep forgetting to add items that i order to my Uber driver. Weather it's drinks or food and the staff aren't helpful at all and when you call they keep you on hold. They seem to get less and less reliable as time goes on. I hope the business owner sees this and does something about it because sometimes spend 400-500 on Uber eats a month and a lot of my business goes to them and they keep fucking up.

Consistent fresh food!! That's what I want to start with now counting this would be my second time order via UberEats from them, I felt for some Mexican food and decided to give them a try and I was not disappointed. I spoke to a customer service person whom handled my Uber order with such care, you could tell they take pride in their food and service and I had such a great experience with them and the quality of their food that I referred more people to them including my family. So far I have ordered tacos , birria burrito, churro bowl, shrimp ceviche, Mexican Coca Cola, michelaguas (my favorite), definitely will be going to them for a visit in the future to satisfy my food cravings.

I have searched high and low for authentic tacos in Brooklyn and believe me I have tried them all! I think I've found my place. We ordered the following for delivery Tacos as follows; Steak Chicken Pastor Flor de calabaza (Amazing) Barbacoa And Picadillo We also ordered; Rice Napoles Gallo fries Churro bites And tres leches Everything was amazing except for the barbacoa, it was very tough and chewy. The Flor de Calabaza anyone will love (vegans and non-vegans) ! The rice was good. Deserts were outstanding.
