Yelp
I have always been a fan of El Indio, but our recent visit gets it all the stars!
I was late to the party on birria tacos, but when all the pics and articles about them started show up on Insta, I knew I was going to have to get in on the trend. One article I encountered recommended five restaurants in the Metro Atlanta area, and El Indio was on the list. That happens to be near our neighborhood, so one Friday night we decided to give them a shot.
My husband and I each ordered the birria taco dinner, which came with three tacos and consome. We ordered through the Yelp Grubhub option with no problems whatsoever. When we went to pick up our order, we realized that this place is seriously hopping on a Friday night. The parking lot was PACKED. Since we were a little early, we decided to drive around a bit to avoid the fray until it was time for our pickup. As we approached our pick-up time, we lucked out and found a spot on the side of the restaurant which allowed us to avoid the most congested area. Pick-up was quick and easy, and the order was exactly right.
Now, the tacos. They were excellent. The flavor was rich, deep, and meaty. This was no health food, make no mistake. But the indulgence was totally worth it. I get the birria taco hype! We ordered take-out because we have not been dining in yet, but I think the tacos would even be better fresh. We can't wait to come again when we can enjoy them fresh and inside the restaurant. We will definitely be back! If you haven't tried these yet, give them a shot! You won't regret it!
