Ordering was a breeze with plenty of options to choose from, and the staff was super informative and helpful—happy to answer questions and make great recommendations. The tacos? Absolutely delicious. We tried the grilled chicken, fried chicken, grilled fish, and steak—and every single one was a hit. Flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The food came out quickly, which was a huge plus, especially with hungry kids in tow. While the seating area is limited, it’s just enough to grab a spot, sit down, and stuff your face—no frills, just great food. Bonus points for being kid-friendly—our kids loved it too. El Jefe is definitely worth a try if you're in the area. Top notch!

I ordered a total of 3 tacos for delivery. The jerk pork, fried shrimp and and fish taco. They were all pretty good, flavorful and fresh. As you can see the package everything very nicely and the presentation is appealing. My favorites were the fish and the fried shrimp. Just would’ve preferred a corn tortilla instead of flour.

The tacos are out of this world! We tried all different kinds and they were all delicious. From the chicken to the shrimp to the pork, so good! This is a great spot to hit up after some drinks. Service was top tier also! This spot is an order your food to go & sit outside kind of place. They’re got some bar seating near where you order but there’s no AC so it’s extremely hot.

Very good, clean, and professional. Everyone inside was friendly, polite, and helpful. The food was fresh and really good. I had steak & Chicken nachos without Pico and the owner had me try a shrimp taco- which was VERY good. I also enjoyed the frozen sangria. There are a few stools where you can eat inside. Idk if they have a back patio for the warmer days (should've asked) but it's great for takeout also. Very organized. I'll be back!!!! I have to do better with food pics bc I really start tearing it up before I can snap something. Sorry guys.

THIS IS A HIDDEN GEM !!! The best service i ever received living in NYC my whole entire life. The food was 10 out 10 the jerk pork tacos were out of this world. The front of us to the back were attentive and kept checking up on us. When i say you need to visit i mean it. Also it is BLACK OWNED let’s support and show love to this amazing establishment.

The frozen margaritas are on point here! We tried the small passionfruit and mango flavors and both were delicious. They have really good chips and queso as well (7.5/10). The chicken rice bowl was alright. I appreciated that the white rice has a coconut flavor. I would go back for the margaritas!

Brooklyn has sooooo many restaurants from soooo many different cuisines and ethnicities...enough to make my head spin. It sometimes feels impossible to choose where to eat on any given day. On this day, Mexican takes center stage by way of El Jeffe! El Jeffe touts itself as modern Mexican, with a menu featuring an array of classic Mexican dishes, with a focus on tacos, in a casual setting. A long way of saying we have all kinds of Mexican food! When in doubt, always got for tacos. I opt for the holy trifecta: fried chicken, jerk pork, and fried shrimp. The fried shrimp is easily the best of the bunch. Sure the shrimp is well seasoned, but it's the entire build of the taco which takes it over the top....Pickled onions, cheese, spicy mayo. The jerk pork is what I was most excited about, and although wonderful tender, it simply is not jerk. Special mention to the chicken which is beautifully battered and fried. With that being said, the tortillas on this day, were unfortunately on the stale and chewy side, which obviously puts a damper on any taco. Overall El Jeffe ticks almost all the right boxes. Pro tip : do not leave without trying the juices!

The Fish Taco is saturated with some flavorless sauce old lettuce and old tomatoes . I I have no idea what kind of fish this is supposed to be. This shouldn't be on the menu 0/10 The Jerk Pork Taco is amazing

I've eaten tacos and burritos from El Jeffe. Decent food. Everything is absolutely fresh but the flavors just aren't very interesting. They should chop the price on the Margarita. It's sweet and frosty but the booze is absent. Prices are reasonable.

Came here for the first time based off a recommendation. I ordered two tacos in case I was dissatisfied. I should have ordered four! They were delicious. I ordered one grilled chicken and one grill shrimp taco. They were ready in no time, maybe less than 10 mins. There's not many toppings on the grilled chicken taco but it is still very tasty and flavorful. I ordered a side of guacamole to put on both. The grilled shrimp taco was very good and had more than 3 large shrimp. I will definitely be back to El Jefe's!

Customer service is impeccable!!! I ordered a veggie quesadilla and it was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. I got a small margarita if you are looking for something strong I wouldn't recommend that drink it was straight juice but overall my meal was delicious

Best tacos in bed stuy!! The jerk pork tacos w/ a flour tortilla are the best. The bowls are delicious and 1000% better than chipotle. The grilled shrimp in the bowl is a little odd in texture but the steak one is top tier.

Stopped by again today and the answer is YES!!! Yes the food is still top tier and delicious! Yes the drinks are still hitting! And yes the service is still A1! I grabbed a jerk pork quesadilla and sangrita to go. I was fully satisfied.

I literally just had the most disgusting food ever here. I've ordered here several times before. Burnt corn, runny queso, the jerk taco was fatty and cold, shrimp taco was no flavor. The only edible thing was the chicken thighs taco. The skimping on processes and flavor has got to stop. Threw the whole thing away because I'm too pissed off to bother. Do better!

Food was great ! Customer serve was amazing as well ! The jerk pork is good. It's not a Mexican spot. The passion fruit drink was so delicious as well. The only thing I don't like was the coconut rice. Like why coconut rice !!!! Cilantro Rice would've been a wayyyyyy better option. I couldn't even eat it. I ate everything besides half off the rice. Other than that, food was great !

You NEED to try the jerk pork taco with pineapple. I ordered one and then had to get more because I was sad it ended. Then I ordered the fried chicken taco, it was alright. The service was awesome, they are friendly and helpful. The ambiance is laid back and chill, there are counters to enjoy your order at. Also shoutout to the amazing 2000s hip-hop playlist. Really good food! Got the steak quesadilla $10. Authentic, speedy, and delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Also got the half n half frozen Marg and sangria. Not very strong. $13 Seems like a takeout only place.

I'm highly disappointed this place that once loved. I'm not sure who's idea it was to switch the cheese in the quesadillas ‍ but I need you to bring the Jack cheese back. My jerk pork taco was over cooked and chewy with little to no toppings. Thank goodness the fried shrimp taco and steak are still delicious.

I absolutely love this spot. The shrimp and rice bowl with avocado is a must try. Very delicious if you're ever bought Fulton Street in Bed stuyvasent you to give it a try you won't be disappointed.

The food was definitely overrated and didn't live up to the hype. I was really hungry, and usually, a meal hits the spot, but this one just missed the mark. I regret choosing to eat here and ended up grabbing something from the roti place down the street instead. The customer service wasn't great either.

The Tacos Are Fresh Cooked and really good it may take time for your food to come but that's because they make sure it's fresh in my opinion.

Yes!!! Yes!!! Yes!!! This spot is the spot! The food is amazing! I ordered the chicken quesadilla and because it was my first time they gave me these chips with queso and guacamole and pico and it was TO DIE FOR! Very friendly staff! I ordered a large frozen margarita. I was having a blast with the staff because they were playing music and we were all dancing. This is definitely a place I recommend coming in on a Saturday night or any day just to grub. Shout out to the owner who I met there! Definitely will be coming back! These are the type of businesses that you have to support!

The tacos!!! Honestly I could end my review there because I don't need to say more but I won't do that lol. I got the shrimp tacos (both grilled and fried) and the fish taco. They were all so flavorful and delicious but I think the fried shrimp was my favorite. I also got a side of chips and they were crispy and freshly made. Highly recommend trying this place!

This place has been on my list for quite some time and I'm and I had friends visiting from out of town, staying in the neighborhood, so we met there for lunch. We chose 3 different types of tacos: shrimp, fish and pulled pork. Seafood was orange colored and really weird... salty with an odd texture. My friend's husband liked his pulled pork taco which sported a coleslaw like tipping (we are both allergic, so we didn't get too close.) He inhaled the nachos, I snagged one or two and they were ok. The juice was super sweet like it'd been sweetened with sugar. Margaritas tasted a little weird and the alcohol content was very low. The three stars are for the friendly employees and great music selection in the outdoor seating area.

Ordered from here yesterday and I've never been more mad at myself for not ordering from here sooner. IT WAS AMAZING! My parents and I each got a jerk pork burrito, an order of regular nachos, and shrimp nachos for my grandmother and we're still thinking about it the next day. Our house has definitely become loyal El Jeffe customers!

This food is amazing! The fresh tortilla chips and salsa were the perfect start to my lunch. I got the fried shrimp and fried chicken tacos and these little tacos have so much taste and flavor. This hidden gem in Brooklyn is definitely worth the drive from the Bronx! And I can't forget the mango Margarita, super refreshing and perfect for a summer evening.

You can hear the music coming from this place from two blocks away. A Black-owned taco joint, El Jeffe is worth the hype it gets, but keep your children away -- they blast ratchet music!! My friends and I beat the crowd there thankfully, but it was still shocking how busy it got in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday. I had to shout over the music inside to order, which was fine... but sheesh wouldn't it make sense to turn it down for that? I got the jerk pork tacos and the sangrita. My friends and I waited outside to claim a table, and we didn't even hear when they called us because of the music! But either way, it didn't take long. Those tacos were incredible. The pineapple with the jerk pork was a killer combo. And the refreshing sangrita to wash it all down made it all better. Whenever I return to the city, I'd love to return there and try other things. Just remember, keep your children far away. I feel sorry for the families that casually walk by XD.

It was so juicy ..and I ordered the fried chicken taco..I honestly just wish they were a tad bit bigger..but definitely delicious..also ordered 2 chicken burritos.. I'll be back..service was friendly and fast. It's a nice lil spot..with a few stools to sit on and nice tunes playing

So it was Cinco de Mayo last week and I HAD to drive all the way to El Jefe and here is why: The drinks and shrimp nachos are to die for. So on an afternoon filled with rush hour traffics I went. It was LIT!! (Definitely difficult to find parking with all the outdoor dining structures) But like I said it was lit. They had a DJ bumping tunes, a line that formed behind me and held about 6-10 ppl steadily and the FOOD! The food really is that good. I've opted for 1 fried taco, 2 fish (the fish is perfect) and a shrimp. Then I had to order the shrimp nachos. They know what they are doing here! Topped it off with a Sangria Margarita 1/2 n 1/2 frozen. Now that's some bomb ass brooklyn Mexican food. N with a vibe (2snaps yes!) Side bar: I had to order without avocado everything and a few times I went they did t get it right but they are soo nice here great service. Short wait for the food. The ooey gooey cheese on the nachos on top of the crunch with the fat juicy shrimps not smothered in guac. That's a win.

Placing an order here wasn't the easiest as I had to practically yell as it was so loud . As a first timer, I could've gotten some help but the cashier didn't seem talkative so I decided for myself to roll with a chicken burrito , fried chicken taco and steak taco . Food was ready within ten minutes which is a plus . At first bite of the steak taco, my impression was that the ingredients were nice and fresh and the slice of avocado was a good touch . It felt more like a healthy salad than a taco and I was good with that despite the steak having too much chew for my liking . The chicken taco on the other hand , I didn't quite care for . Too much lime or whatever citrus they use and the chicken wasn't the most tender . Not something I'd want again but I think by changing their sauce to a something that compliments fried chicken can boost it a couple notches . Finally , I had the burrito. Easily one of the largest I've ever had but it wasn't a lot of meat . Either way the burrito was nice and moist and packed with flavor and really aided by whatever cheese they used as that was one flavor that usually gets buried in a burrito. It's easily two meals and the pricing of everything really is what made me round up to a 4 star rating . The food here is not something I'd go out of my way for but it is decent that I'd recommend it in the area .

Omg. As always, my eyes are bigger than my stomach and I ordered two tacos and a burrito. Honestly after the two tacos, I could've stopped but it was a long week of teaching so my meal was a marathon and not a sprint. The pulled pork taco was BOMB. Literally my mouth was kind of on fire but the mixture of spices on the pork and the coleslaw were a beautiful combination. Shrimp taco was good but since I got the shrimp burrito too, I wish I would've tried a different taco. I'll be blessing myself with a fried chicken taco next time. The shrimp burrito was delicious. It was packed with flavor and a lot of shrimp! I was prompted to choose fried or grilled for the burrito which I thought was a great touch. I'll definitely be back and will definitely end up eating way more than I should. New year, same me. Eat here. This is a "me" question, but I ordered through Yelp, which brought me to grub hub for this restaurant (no other options for online ordering) and I'm wondering if there's a way to make sure the restaurant gets tipped too, as I think my tip went to the deliver person (who was through an external company). I just don't want one to miss out on a tip!

Literally the best tacos I've ever had, specifically the jerk pork and fried shrimp. IYKYK. The staff were super friendly and offered great suggestions. The backyard gave dope vibes. Just take my wallet El Jeffe. 10/10.

Not to be a grinch, but this place is overrated. I had this food spot on the top of my Bedstuy places to go to list for quite some time. I was disappointed with the size and the price of the tacos. I've certainly had better at other places. Also, the alcoholic beverages do not contain much alcohol. Prepare to wait a while before your order is ready and there is no indoor dining. I will definitely go elsewhere the next time I'm in Bedstuy to dine and drink.

Service was excellent! Soon as I walked in the cashier was ready, willing and able to take my order. Once my order was ready another person brought it to my outdoor seating. I asked about outdoor seating and he was like just place your order and u can def sit where u like. The frozen sangria was good, nothing strong about it, so if u have a little extra coin def add a shot. I ordered the fish burrito grilled and everything in the burrito was good except the fish. It was greasy, bland and lumpy. I believe it was tilapia. I should've asked before ordering that, so my bad. I removed the fish and just ate the rice, beans, cheese and sour cream. Next time I will def ask but also next time they should def do a better job with the fish. I heard about this place in my barber's chair and decided since I was in BK I'd take a chance. I heard all the other food is bomb so I won't write this place off, next time I'm around I'll give it another try.

The tacos start at $3.50 each. I've tried the pork (but sweet for me), rice (coconut) bowls start at $9 with no protein (I like fish). These are my go to things to get here. My coworker likes their shrimp for protein. Happy hour tacos on Tuesdays. Tuesday nights are packed. Eat in has option of alcoholic beverages that can't go out the door. Friendly service and convenient stools while you wait. There's a wait since they make it fresh. Food is all tasty.

"The fried chicken tacos are STUPID!" First thing I said after being able to regain my composure. I was HANGRY by the time the food arrived. I had a hard time figuring out which one I was going to start with first because they all looked so delicious. Of course i started with Fried chicken taco haha. I ordered: 1. Fried Chicken tacos x2 2. Shrimp taco 3. Steak taco 4. Fish taco WOWZERS! These were the top 5 best tacos I've ever had TBH. If you're thinking about ordering tacos this is it. Next best thing to order is the quesadilla & nachos. Enjoy!

Still on point! El Jeffe was busier than I expected, but rightfully so. The flavors with the food never fail to make me happy. If I lived any closer, it would be difficult to stay away. I've introduced this little gem to a number of people, and get jealous when they tell the picked up food without me lol. The service is also great. You will have to wait for your food, because each order is freshly made but absolutely worth it. The frozen drinks are a treat and great to sip on while you wait. Don't pass by without snatching up some really good tacos!

Favorite, lol there are a few at this place. The strawberry lemonade is official. Mix the pineapple and passion fruit juice together, amazing! I love the chips and queso. Two favorite tacos are the fried chicken taco and fried shrimp taco. All the tacos are tasty. Cool taco spot. Good small family owned business. Service is great too! No disappointments.

Really love this place! I get their bowls with either chicken or shrimp and it is a great portion. The music is always playing (and always a great playlist!) and sometimes you do have to wait a bit because they are busy, but it's worth the wait. There is no indoor seating, so I usually order to go. Highly recommend!

I've been here a few times, because the Tacos are awesome! I also like quesadillas and burritos. It's a West Indian run Mexican taco spot done right. There's bar seating inside. You can order by phone as well for take out. There's no parking lot, but El Jeffe is easily accessible by by mass transit however. My favorites are the shrimp tacos and the steak quesadillas. I'm definitely a frequent customer as long as the food stays fresh and scrumptious like it is right now!

El Jeffe has great food. The food came prepared well package flavorful everything was fresh. The jerk pork and grilled chicken was well prepared seasoned well not salty. The lettuce, tomatoes, black beans, pickled onions, guacamole and cilantro dressing was very delicious. The salads I ordered was jerk pork and grilled chicken both prepared well and flavorful. I had the jerk pork and my mom had the grilled chicken. Go get you some El Jeffe it's well worth it. The staff is excellent because they go above and beyond. They answer the phone. They are very nice in person and over the phone as well. The experience is worth the money, I have no regrets. El Jeffe is the place to go to, it's clean, small standing room only inside, they have seating outside, also, clean great experience I wish it was a larger restaurant, but the size doesn't stop the delicious food and hospitable service. The drinks are also delicious. The drinks I've had was the sangria and margarita. As I stated, go get you some El Jeffe. Don't hesitate cause you won't regret.

Got the jerk pork bowl which was solid. Great portion size especially with the two sides. But the real reason I'm writing this review is because of the service. Some of the nicest guys of all time in there! Will be back
