"With locations all over the South Bay and even Miami, El Pollo Inka is a beloved Peruvian chain that knows its way around roast chicken. Any dish involving their tender rotisserie birds is going to be good (the half-chicken plate with salad, beans, and fries is a classic) but we're also to their smoky, savory lomo saltado. You'll also find Peruvian criollo dishes like the creamy-spicy stew ají de gallina that you might not expect to see at a fast-casual spot. Prepare for crowds during at their original location in Lawndale, where there's always a line during the lunch rush." - Brant Cox

"This South Bay mini-chain has been enamoring Angelenos with its comida Peruana since the original location opened in Lawndale in 1987. The namesake pollo a la brasa is no slouch, either. The chicken is subtly seasoned with soy sauce and aji and served with the restaurant’s famous cilantro-forward chicken soup — a classic in its own right." - Euno Lee

Unbelievable, everything has changed, food??? Horrible 🤢 I ordered pollo saltado, very greasy, more onion, potatos, than chicken, and the little chichen they gave me it was bad, I told the waitress, but she just ignored me, service??? Bad, and .... there was a little fly in the food, 🤨for sure they won't see me again.

Google
Delicious Peruvian food, enjoy many of the traditional Peruvian dishes ….even picarones during the weekend…the green ají sauce is such a great compliment to every dish…so if you are up to try something different come and enjoy the food in this hidden jewel in Hawthorne Blvd..❤️✅💯

Google
The best Peruvian resto in LAX... We stopped at this resto to have our dinner bfr driving to LAX Airport. The service was great..the foods are so delicious...really recomended for food lover.

Google
Generally good, but our waiter was a bit out of it. My wife is salt-sensitive so she asked for less salt, but the food didn't come out that way. I think the waiter just dropped the request. Also he walked away without getting my order and I had to follow him into the kitchen to let him know what I wanted,

This was my first time coming to this dine in restaurant, I usually go to the one in Gardena or the Express one in Hawthorne. The restaurant itself in the inside is okay, I feel like they can give it a re-arrangement due to all the tables as of now are too close together. As far as the service, I would say it was good with the exception of the waitress that served my wife and I, did not bring an item she requested. When we were requesting the check is when she asked if we had received that food item and by that point we didn't want it no more. Other than that, good place. Just be aware that the seating is a little close to the other tables and just be aware to get all your food items.

Google
My son took me for dinner I had half Chicken and fries and it was delicious. He had a stir fry with rice and chicken and that was amazing. Service was fast. Can't wait to go again. That was my first time, and it is so close to my house. Glad we went it was delicious.

Google
Food taste and quality was okay it’s the portion sizes that did not compliment the food. Felt as if I received a kid size portion and not the correct steak portion. I asked for 2 more slices of tomatoes and charged me 5 bucks. Not the best location… we prefer the one in Gardena or redondo beach location.

Google
This was my first try at Peruvian food. I went with a learned friend that explained the menu in full detail and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. The food was magnificent! Waitress was very friendly and kept checking with me to make sure everything was ok and offering to replace anything I might not like since it was my first time. That is great service. Nothing replaced though as everything tasted great! The place was super clean, food times were quick and prices were very reasonable Eat confidently!

Yelp
I've been going to El Pollo Inka ever since I was a kid and their Peruvian food never disappoints! I always order the lomo saltado with plantains and during my most recent visit, it was just as delicious as I remember. I came in the late afternoon so it wasn't too busy but there is a waitlist that you can put yourself in beforehand!

Jessica G.

Yelp
I've been coming to El Pollo Inka for years. El Pollo Inka is a Peruvian restaurant and I loooooooove their food. They are excellent for big parties and have the most delicious food!! As much as I love Pollo Saltado, getting older means I ride the struggle bus whenever I eat a carb heavy meal. My go to order has been the "healthier" alternative called Col De Pollo which has cabbage instead of fries. What we had: - Col De Pollo - chicken sauteed with cabbage, onions, tomatoes, green onions & cilantro. Served with rice. - 1/4 Pollo - Peruvian Rotisserie chicken marinated in herbs, spices, & citric juices. Served with a cup of soup and choice of 2 sides: garlic rice, french fries, salad, brown rice ($1+), beans ($2+), veggies ($2+), quinoa ($2+), or cilantro rice ($2.50+) Instagram: @jessgoeat

Yelp
Zero stars options should be added. Came in today with a work group, so didn't have much of a choice. Grabbed our dinner to go. My order, the Saltado de Pollo was dry, tasted like last weeks chicken, fries tasteless, rice hard, presentation really poor. Half of the order missing. No call back, no share, no accountability.

Joselyn R.

Yelp
The food is always delicious. The service is great, especially if you add yourself to the waitlist. The server is always attentive and checking in. Ambiance is great for a meal with family or a friend. I went to another location and it wasn't the same, I would only come back to this one specifically.

Gwen R.

Yelp
Stumbled into this place from a friend's recommendation after an interesting day. Needless to say, the meal was quite delightful and tasty. The service was fantastic too! Just know that the portions are pretty nice, so don't order too much!!

Corina R.

Yelp
Food quality is not great and portions are terrible in ratio! The service is not great and rude waiters! This location is not the place to come to. Smells like nothing but cheap soap and perfume in here.

Vanessa R.

Yelp
This is a local favorite of mine. I always order the 1/4 Pollo with rice and fries or the Saltado De Pollo. Their soup is always so good. This time, I tried something new and it did not disappoint: the Chaufa De Pollo (Chicken Fried Rice)! I forget how good their rice already is, so having it fried was even better! I definitely recommend

Giovanni B.

Yelp
I love their Tallarín de Pollo! My favorite plate is saltado de pollo;however, whenever I feel on getting something else, I would go for Tallarín de Pollo. It's pretty tasty and their ají sauce is amazing too.

Jenna K.

Yelp
This a review based on UberEats take out experience. FANTASTIC FOOD!! Twice in five days I HAD...yes HAD TO order these dishes again! These dishes were prepared with ample protein and rice, especially the Chaufa de Mariscos - the amount of seafood that's in this fried rice is absolutely packed! Shrimp, fish, calamari, lightly fried with rice and egg and green onion, not at all, greasy and very savory! The Lomo Saltado what is well flavored, and the thief was tender and tasty! Did I mention the portion? The portion is so generous that comfortably three people can eat one dish and two hungry man could eat this together. And one really extremely hungry person could probably finish don't think but I highly doubt it.! it truly is mountainous the amount of food that they give for the price. The only comment that I have is that they package their take out dishes in Styrofoam, which does concern me a little bit because the food is hot and it seems to melt the Styrofoam. So happy to have discovered this hidden gem, will be ordering from them again for sure!

Yelp
Been coming here for 30 years. I crave it as much today as I always have. Best Peruvian anywhere. The soup is what takes this place to a level higher.

Gladys N.

Yelp
It's sad to see how downhill this place has gone. It was my favorite Peruvian restaurant since being a kid. Service now is not what it used it be. Ambiance? You can hear people chew. No music, tvs are off. It's not an inviting atmosphere as it used to be. Saltado de pollo with the house made salsa ají will always be my favorite dish. Chicken now lacks flavor. The calamari appetizer was to cry for. Undercooked, soggy, go look at previous pictures. It's not what it used to be at all. Next time I am craving pollo inka I'll just go to the express location down the street.

Geronimo T.

Yelp
Had a good experience. Was greeted and seated immediately . Ordered and received my dinner within 10 mins. Food was delicious. Place can be a little cleaner, but that did not matter once the meal was served. Overall, I recommend.

Erick L.

Yelp
El sudado chalaco was really good. From what I have read is a tomato - white wine sauce. As you can see from the picture, it brings big shrimps, small shrimps, calamari, fish and mussels. The dish brought a bowl of rice which I killed with the green aji sauce. Everything was excellent on this visit.

Enrique G.

Yelp
I bought tallarines de pollo and I found a fly in my plate when I almost eat all the food. This is gross, unhealthy and disgusting. This should not be happening for any circumstances.

Ani A.

Yelp
The food here is pretty good and as a vegetarian I love how they have so many options. Fair warning that the food does come with a side of soup, but the soup has chicken. So if you are a vegetarian skip that. The sauce they give on the side is absolutely amazing. The only issue is I've been a few times and I always order my food to go and they always forget to give me my flan. I will one day know how the flan tastes like, but other than that the food is great. I definitely recommend.

Ruth G.

Yelp
Over the years I must say the restaurant has gotten much much better, the food is super fresh, you can see, taste the freshness on all of my favorite dishes. Lomo saltado, tallarín de camarón, chaufa de mariscos all delicious. I was a loyal customer of the Torrance pollo Inka but last time I was there the quality of the food was beyond poor, no sazón, no freshness, they were out of bread. Etc This locations is now my go to! Fast service, friendly! And I cannot express the freshness of the food!!!! Amazing!!!!!!

maria o.

Yelp
Ceviche Mixto has terrible flavor., Mexican salsa came as a side. It had a strong onion flavor, and the lemon flavor tasted like juice from a bottle. Ceviche didn't come with Peruvian corn; not corn at all, just cancha. As a Peruvian, I feel mad because this ceviche doesn't represent the Peruvian ceviche.

Jordan G.

Yelp
Have eaten here with my family on a dozen occasions. Food is really tasty, service is good, and the drinks are never ending... as long as you maintain eye contact with your server. Enjoy. Follow me on Yelp. Jordan

Suzie M.

Yelp
The food is excellent, the service is consistent, they are always on time when ordering ahead. We have loyal customers for 20+ years !

Winnie L.

Yelp
I have been to their restaurant many times and always like their food. Even they have a lot of chains restaurants, we ALWAYS go to this one. I even saved their phone number ! However when it comes on phone order, they are easy to mess up. This is the 2nd time the messed up the take out order, that can't find the order, no discount can be offered while they try to make it rider away for the inconvenience. Thank you for trying to make the order right away but we expected a better customer service. Tips: when you do phone order with them, try to leave your name + phone # so they will be able to find it.

Andy D.

Yelp
Worst food ever. Meat was tasteless and wow really side order white rice or seasoned fries. Not even beans with caldo just punk ass chicken soup. They don't even have salsa red or green nothing just ketchup and bbq. Can't even order grilled green onions. What is this place known for ? Is it trying to be Spanish Panda Express or a Tams burger. Be original make yourself stand out. But I guess these Donkey's this Days love their White rice and french fries as a side.

Alma M.

Yelp
If I could I would give a negative 5 stars!! Employees here are absolutely RUDE!! Placed an order for two large platters of chicken with sides and nobody asked if I needed help to take it out to the car. Never coming back. Don't not come here if you expect good service, food is okay and not worth all the hype. Ambiance is dark and not welcoming at all. This review is for the Lawndale location. COSTUMER SERVICE AT ITS WORST.

Shanelle S.

Yelp
Peruvian chain with generous portions. Came here to grab dinner on a Thursday with a friend. Free lot parking but it is limited. Street parking also available. Credit cards accepted. Indoor dining only (no outdoor options available). It's a family-friendly spot. We got an order of yucca fries and calamari. The calamari was really crispy and a tad too salty, but I liked it nonetheless. The yucca fries came in 7 pieces and had a green sauce on the side. The lomo saltado is a popular dish and I had enough for leftovers for lunch the next day. The tallarin had a healing pile of noodles and were very pesto-y. You get a choice of complimentary soup or salad (we both got the soup).

Coco D.

Yelp
Their picante de mariscos is our go to dish. The soup is also great. I usually call ahead when I do take out around lunch hour to avoid the wait. I was there at 11 today and there were already a few tables seated and 3-4 to go orders in line already. The food is great as usual. The only downside of taking it to go is the bottom of the two containertend to get smashed on the way home. It gets quite messy We have been going to this location for many years now. The quality of the food is still as good as the first time we tried it.

Guava T.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. I've never encountered rude attitudes in a business like this. My mom left telling them to change their attitude or else they were going to lose business lol. We will definitely never be coming back!

Eric C.

Yelp
Unfortunately, Pollo Inca was once solidly four and five star experiences. I've been here now twice recently and both times, the Lomo Saltado is half onion, less meat and less tomato. Even the marinade seems less as it used the permeate the rice which in the past, made the rice so delicious. So I won't be back and now checking other options to try. The picture says it all.

Chanson H.

Yelp
Always tasty and efficient. No markup to order via app. I called in my order for pickup on a Sunday night and the restaurant was full, including many to go orders on the counter awaiting pickup. Phone was ringing off the hook the whole time, and I'm sure app orders were coming in as well. The parking lot was full to the max including a few people double-parking as they waited for their orders. There was a homeless person yelling at people from across the parking lot, so that does make me more reluctant to come back.

Maritza S.

Yelp
We came in on 08/04, a Friday night, and as soon as we walked in I was refused service for having medical equipment / a service animal with me. The manager on shift requested I disclose (in front of everyone) what was my medical disability was. It was truly humiliating. Finally they agreed to seat us. To top it off, the restaurant did not have any chicken. Therefore the menu was limited. LAST, but not least, once our food came to the table, there was a hair in it. Our server was apologetic and brought us a new dish, but by that point we were beyond disappointed with everything. Will never step foot here again.

Regina L.

Yelp
This was my first time at this particular location, however, the food is always a any time I go to satisfy my craving of Peruvian food! Inside was roomy, clean, and inviting! I almost changed my take out to dine in! Customer service was great Full review to follow on taste... Dish- Saltado De Pollo This pains me to drop my rating. CONS- French fries were horrible. Old, hard, and no flavor * The fries are what kicks this dish up a notch! Not evenly mixed. A mound of fries in certain spots and none in other spots. If you absolutely LOVE onions as I do then the size and bulkiness of the cut won't be to bad! Chunky Purple onions Example- some cuts were 3-layers that had not separated Rice- had large clumps on one side of my plate. The other half was loose, and texture decent. PROS- The flavors of the dish were great, chicken was alright. Overall it satisfied my craving Drink was good- Chicha morada Made from purple corn I will not however, return to this specific location.

Djohan T.

Yelp
Five stars in every things. This is my favorite restaurant. Too bad I leave far away. I wish you guys have branch in Arcadia

Oscar V.

Yelp
First time getting food from this location. Uber eats only delivered one of the 2 items I ordered and the restaurant blamed it on the driver instead of taking any accountability on their end. I spoke to Gisela over the phone and she was rude and non-accommodating. The general manager is David and he was not available today. As a regional manager myself, this location lacks the proper management and customer service training (based on my interaction today). Take your business to Pollo Inka Express in Hawthorne just a few minutes away. I've never had an issue at that location.

Eric H.

Yelp
Food and service was great! I would love to come back to try more items. I have been to there great mini restaurant in Downtown LA, love it! So when I was driving by, I had to stop. Plenty of free parking in the back and the AC is great!

Maria C.

Yelp
I literally LOVE LOVE LOVE Pollo Inka but the last few time I've been here it's been so disappointing! I always order Lomo Saltado because that's my favorite. The last few times I've came there has been about 5 extremely small pieces of beef in it. I guess they are cutting back because of covid? Not sure. The food also doesn't seem fresh. It's never hot, always at room temperature. It just doesn't seem like it's freshly cooked like before covid. It taste and looks like they've had the food sitting there all day and put it together when someone orders it. I'll be trying a different location soon. Hopefully I have better luck!

LV S.

Yelp
1.- el servicio de la gente en la caja es pésimo actitud prepotente 2.- ordene un pollo con arroz, ensalada y papas. Nunca encontré el arroz en mi orden! Necesitan mejorar

I. A.

Yelp
My first time ordering Tacu tacu! The beans are delicious! I found a new fav to order here!

Dan L.

Yelp
I used to love this place. We ordered 2 Saltado de pollo to go, and when we opened them at home there was hardly any chicken, just fries for $30+ When I asked for extra green sauce I felt the waitress was pretty rude. Dissapointing as I love Peruvian food but will have to find somewhere different next time.

Lula M.

Yelp
Wow, what happened here!!!I have been eating here for the past couple of months on a regular basis and today's meal made me so sick!! I stayed in the bathroom all night and yes it was from my dinner. All night, I had this nasty taste in my mouth and stomach. I was very disappointed in my visit because I watched how two customers came after me and ordered their food and received it before me. I had ordered at least 10 minutes before them and had to wait on chicken fried rice and two pieces of chicken. Finally the waitress looked at me and realized that i had not received my food and then she brought it out. All night, i can taste the the food in my mouth and it had such a nasty taste that led me to the bathroom. What happened here??? I was the only person there who didn't look like the other people. I am feeling so sick from eating chicken fried rice and a piece of chicken!!!!!!!

Yelp
We went tonight to get dinner from there at 9 :00 pm , in person and ordered items , the person took order , confirmed the order , paid for it , told us to wait 15 minutes went back picked up and food got home got family to eat on dinner table , the food was wrong Wrong items , billed items was not there , I agree mistakes happen . When I called the person in charge was rude , told me take back the food back tomorrow to get replaced , And hold our dinner till tomorrow lol It's bad Coustomer service here ... Please check your food , open the packages and validate please ...

Jose B.

Yelp
never again ! good luck but this is not an authentic Peruvian food Restaurant ! so sad you representing our food !

Ken N.

Yelp
The chicken is still fantastic. We haven't been there in years but we're glad to stop in again. Super tender rotisserie chicken with delicious green, spicy sauces to compliment. Don't forget the calamari... The staff is super friendly and attentive as well. You won't be disappointed!

Patricia T.

Yelp
My son and I were hanging out. He suggested we eat at El Pollo Inka. I wasn't to keen on the idea. I had eaten at another location and the food was mediocre. What a pleasant surprise. The food , service , and everything was a 180. The food was fresh hot and plentiful. I had more than enough to take home to eat later. The cost was reasonable. The seven was personable and attentive. He was helpful and gave suggestions for meal choice. He took our questions and concerns serious. He addressed each with a smile. And yes I will eat here again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
This location has plenty of seats inside and the service is fast which I appreciate. I usually order a lomo saltado or vainitas. The soup is yummy and I especially love the aji verde-yum yum! I have gotten items delivered before, too, but it always tastes better in person!

Ryna D.

Yelp
Peruvian arroz chaufa is one of my husband's favorite comfort meals. When I first met him in NY, he had his go to restaurant to order this dish. When we moved away from his original apartment, Pio Pio became his mainstay. Naturally, when we moved here to LA, he had to go find a local option. After trying a few places, including several locations of El Pollo Inka, this Lawndale branch is now his go-to spot for arroz chaufa. I also enjoy the dish but I do rotate between ordering chaufa and ordering their lomo saltado or sometimes even just the classic rotisserie chicken leg. The one thing he is disappointed at is their green sauce. It is too watery for his liking and I do agree that the aji verde from his favorite spots in NY are of better quality. I'm going to have to just make it from scratch one of these days..

Helen M.

Yelp
This place serves up pretty good Peruvian food. My favorite the pollo saltado and the ceviche. I stoped coming for awhile because they started to add a lot of French fries and less meat on the saltado. I recently went back and it's gotten better again though.

An N.

Yelp
Nothing to complaints about our last dine-in here at this restaurant. We came in around 5:30pm and the restaurant wasn't too busy so we had that quiet and calm vibes that normally is not the norm here at all. We are pretty happy about it though. We ordered a few dishes 1/2 Pollo, Saltado De Mariscos, Pescado A Lo Macho. You can't never go wrong with their signature Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken. But Saltado De Mariscos is surprising good as well. It has good amount of flavor but not too salty or overwhelming your taste. Also if you are a fan of curry dish like me, Pescado A Lo Macho is another good choice for you to consider. I loved that the curry wasn't too rich nor too creamy for my taste. Overall we just had a really great and Satisfied dinner!!!

Virginia A.

Yelp
This was my go to Pollo Inka.. but I believe it's under new management. First off, they have a "B" now. They don't give you bread as soon as you sit down. You have to ask, and they will give you one per person. They seem cold, old and stale:( You will need to ask for more if you want more. Also, no more lime in your water lol I guess its the little things for me... The condiments are no longer on the table like before. Maybe it's because of covid? My Camaron Saltado was phenomenal My husband ordered the chaufa.. lets just say they got his order wrong. It was cold :( I really miss the old pollo inka management I think im going to the Gardena one for now

Chris N.

Yelp
Great place for Peruvian food taste is stellar and relaxing ambiance. Whether picante pollo or shrimp or chicken fried rice Chaufa De Pollo or anything yah can't go wrong.

Edgar S.

Yelp
We were served a glass with lipstick on it, the waiter forgot to bring us a replacement glass. Other than that the food was still good
