Hands down the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. El Sol Mexican Cafe absolutely blew me away. The flavors were rich, authentic, and made with serious love. Every bite hit like home cooking with restaurant-level skill. The service was just as good as the food. Friendly, fast, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. You can tell they care about their customers and take pride in what they do. And the prices? Honestly, they could charge more and it would still be worth it. Great portions, fresh ingredients, and a vibe that makes you want to come back again and again. If you haven’t been to El Sol yet, go. Immediately. This place is a gem.

Google
Ordered breakfast burritos for the first time from El Sol Mexican Cafe and they were delicious! Also got their horchata and yum! We will definitely come back and order other dishes! Great service too!

Google
Food is delicious. Well worth the price. I’m addicted to their burritos. Hands down the best burritos in Chandler.

Google
First time here and I loved the friendly service, atmosphere and the breakfast burritos was tasty! My GF and I split the burrito & it was perfect for us.

Google
The service and food here is always great in my opinion. They're so accommodating and are always following up. I love coming here for breakfast, definitely check them out!

Google
Great atmosphere and service but the food was not good at all. The flour tortillas used for their burrito are disgusting compared to a real tortilla de Harina. If you Hispanic like me stay away, you will not like the food here.

Google
Me and girlfriend went do lunch/brunch/drunch/ food dang it ....anywho let's start with Jamaica water not super sweet like most places...I'm already in love....so theres this guy who's like try the fish taco....its really good....so their menu is extensive. We opted for a egg, bean, cheese and rice burrito ..decided to split it once we saw the tortilla ...holly Molly...the beans are traditional Manteca refried and the rice is made with caldo de pollo.....I'm like if I don't see I don't know it continue on with adventure 😋 😅 . The fish taco was cod and deep-fried with an aioli sauce that was to die for spicy yet tangy so yummy. Sooo we are sitting there and remember the dude that was like hey gotta the fish...well he comes by our table and to ask how things are ....in hand he brings a freshly baked cohinito....a litely sweet Mexican bread fresh out of the oven. We split and break cochinito in 2. The first bite takes me back to my childhood ....not to sweet but just sweet enough. His father is the baker omg...at the age of 92 yrs old still kicking out some delicious treats like this. Go ahead folks pass it up but you'll be SORRY!!! BTW they also have a couple other joints one in mesa mangos I think and a burrito joint in Melrose district....can't wait to try. Thank you for your kindness and delicious treats

Google
First time coming here as I've just moved to the neighborhood. I happen to do a lot of food reviews around the town as seen on this Google profile. So I wanted to stop in and try it out. The only downside for me was that when I walked in I was not greeted. I actually spoke to the cashier and said hello to the chef twice and he kinda just looked as if I didn't belong there. I initially asked for a California styled burrito with carne, potatoes, pico, rice etc but the woman taking the orders gave the impression that it would be a complicated custom order because she didn't know what a California burrito was. So instead I opted for breakfast burrito as it seems to be more simple in choice. Overall good food but will be my last time coming.

Yelp
Food was excellent and delicious 10/10 Service was 10/10 even though it's a counter style ordering the person at the counter was very attentive . The paiting and art work was real nice .

Yelp
This was a great spot to stop in at! We googled breakfast burritos around the area and found this place with lots of great reviews on the burritos and since that's what we were craving, we decided to give it a go. Always nerve wrecking to try a new place, but we were very happy with our experience. Kind service, great burrito, close to where we were and great space.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing!! We come typically once a week. Today we grabbed some catering because it's too hot to cook. They're so friendly here, definitely a mom and pop shop to the fullest. Comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, gorgeous art work. The food hits like nanas, it's untouchable. Highly recommended 100%

Yelp
Excellent breakfast burrito. Came out HOT. Flavorful, mild chorizo with an excellent tasting tortilla. Friendly service, clean location with seating inside and outside as well. Two ice cold full bottles of salsa were brought to our table along with our burrito. So glad we stopped.

Aubrey G.

Yelp
First time trying el sol. The breakfast tacos were delicious and filling. The chilaquiles were my favorite part! Service was great. It's small inside but we'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
I was hesitant to try here due to mixed reviews but I'm glad I did! I had the Chorizo Plate for breakfast which comes with mix of chorizo and eggs, potatoes, beans and tortillas (corn or flour). The employee said they make their chorizo in house so had to try it out! It was good, but could use a bit more flavor. The potatoes were bland, no flavor. They also give you salsa bottles when dining in. The green salsa was spicy and the red was mild and perfect for me, which was funny since it's normally opposite. We also got a Pineapple Empanada to share and it was delicious. I wish there were more baked goods but they only had the fruit empanadas and some cookies. The restaurant is clean and the prices were decent. I will come back again to try more dishes!

Jason W.

Yelp
Good, BUT the chorizo breakfast burrito lacked a lot of flavor. Disappointing for a place that claims to make their own chorizo. The papas definitely needed more seasoning as well. The hot salsa was delicious, but should complement rather than have to carry the whole burrito. Once you run out of sauce, the whole thing felt like it lost flavor.

Yelp
I am a native Chandler resident and have been trying so hard to find good Mexican food restaurants locally. I would also like to note I am a menudo fanatic but unfortunately I was disappointed especially with so many high ratings for their menudo. 1st - Overpriced $15.50 for a bowl with a few hominy which with tax and card fee = $17.21 2nd - the meat (cow stomach/ tripe) was full of hair. Yes I know that there should be a few here and there but the amount I spent picking off was a bit excessive. 3rd - The bolillo tasted like pan dulce I couldn't even finish one of the halves. With this said you should instead try Parrilla Los Picos in Mesa, AZ - Alma School and University. And no I don't work for them or being paid to advertise them. They just honestly give you the biggest bang for your buck and they are not stingy with the amount. You also have an option to do unlimited menudo bowl for the same price as the 1/2 you get here. Please up your menudo game!

Yelp
Disappointing. We've been here before, but the food was disappointing this time. Not sure what changed, but the simple yet vibrant flavors of traditional Mexican food was missing. It was bland and lifeless. They are a bit pricey, so they need to perform better. Another meal like this, and I will cross them off my list. There are too many options in the valley to eat lifeless Mexican food.

Yelp
The breakfast burritos here are top tier! I believe the tortillas are homemade, and the flavors are amazing and go well together. It's a nice place to have breakfast with a friend, and sit and talk. And the cashier bringing you drinks and your food adds a nice personal touch. Thanks El Sol!!

Eduwiges C.

Yelp
Service and atmosphere was a 10/10. Very beautiful art and aesthetic restaurant. However, food was mid. Chilaquiles were soggy and not worth the price of $13. Didn't come with eggs or meat. I was surprised they didn't serve café de la olla. 6.5/10 rating for the food.

Yelp
Authors tacos... Their Carne Asada is so flavorful! Pick up their homemade tortillas, you will not be disappointed!

S A.

Yelp
This place is clean and inviting. The breakfast burrito with their spicy salsa is delicious! It was very filling. Will definitely be a repeat customer when I'm back in town.

Yelp
Que Rico Buñuelo! Yummy los Frijoles perfecto. When I go to a Mexican restaurant first thing is judging the rice and beans. This place is 5 stars. Next is salsas I tried their hot and mild. Definitely home made and fresh. Wish I lived closer I would be coming here often for lunch because they close at 2pm. I bet their chilaquiles are just as delicious. Oh, wait inalso had a hibiscus agua de jamaica which was also perfectly done. Visiting from San Diego. Until next time!

Yelp
I love el sol!!!!! The super bueno is a must try - it is so so so delicious and I'm always craving it!! The staff is so friendly and awesome!

Yelp
Great breakfast burritos! Big portions. Great atmosphere! Dog friendly. Highly recommend!

Christina I.

Yelp
The best Green Chile burrito I've had in a long time. The service was very fast and the store looks very clean.

Cynthia G.

Yelp
FAVORITE spot by my office! I even got my husband hooked! They are friendly, love the VIBE and LOVE their food! Gotta come try it!

Yelp
El Sol is the most authentic Mexican food place that's I've encountered in the SE Valley, Chandler (downtown)... the pastry selection is very big and everything tastes sooo yummy... the sit-down breakfast is also awesome... I've had a few family gatherings catered by El Sol, and everyone is always impressed... so sending a shout-out to their staff... the food you create is perfect, and enjoyed by all!
google avatar

Dodie R.

Yelp
Great place to eat. I have family that visits and always asks to go here. They are nice and attentive. Great breakfast burritos
google avatar

Jaime H.

Yelp
Food was delicious and when menudo was compared to others we've tasted it was above the rest... so far! Always going to taste around and will come back to El Sol for Menudo and recommend!

Tiffany A.

Yelp
The breakfast burritos were cooked really well, so good and filling. The Carne Asada and Super Bueno burritos. The staff were friendly! It's a beautiful place that feels welcoming and like you're at home. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
El Sol is a really good Mexican spot with gorgeous and traditional interior design. The burritos are ENORMOUS and the chicken quesadilla is one of the best I've had. I think it comes down to the tortillas they use, so good. I come here for lunch occasionally during work and I'm never disappointed. I'll keep coming back for sure!

Joe M.

Yelp
Been here twice now for breakfast burritos. The first time was solid, closer to a 5 star review. This time around, the burritos are just okay. Both the chorizo and bacon breakfast burritos had very minimal of both chorizo or bacon. They were both more heavily egg burritos, which is incredibly disappointing considering I am NOT going to restaurant, especially a MEXICAN restaurant, for their eggs... will give them a third chance, but unfortunately, if you are looking for a solid breakfast burrito in the area, you have a 50% chance of it being a really good or subpar burrito. Considering how many Mexican restaurants are in the area, not sure if the gamble is worth it.

Gene D.

Yelp
Excellent Chorizo. Have purchased it several times. Very good. Family owned. Very nice staff.

Yelp
Ambiance was good and customer service was great. And I'm so sorry but I have never seen a plate of chilaquiles that looks like this in my entire life haha. I'm sure they have other good food, I just wouldn't recommend going here if you are looking for authentic dishes. Also it was a tad pricey considering portions. I'd recommend it more for people who enjoy "Tex-Mex." Wasn't bad, just wasn't what I was expecting :) lady working cash register today was super nice too. I tried attaching a picture of the chilaquiles but I'm not sure if it worked idk how to use Yelp.

Reina F.

Yelp
Sol café has this nice and authentic feel with some yummy food! Their burritos are some of the best I have tried! The decor and vibe of the place is also great to take a friend or family! I already had twice their burritos this week so best believe I will be back! I also tried some of their sweet cookies and were to die for! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Linda C.

Yelp
I had the chilaquiles they were horrible! It's like the opened a can of Las Palma Sauce and put it on some staled chips garnished with queso fresco, cilantro, and red onions. And who makes chilaquiles and don't put an egg in it. When I seen no egg, I knew this dish was wrong, and they served it cold. No love or effort was put into this dish. Do not order this dish you'll be disappointed. Service was great and fast. The the atmosphere was a clean, good vibe, and great artwork.

Yelp
We got brunch. The Huevos Rancheros had great green chili salsa. The refried beans had a great flavor. Simple but tasty.

Yelp
Lived in Chandler over 25 years & have never had a chance to eat here. I just use to run in & out to purchase their homemade tortillas bi weekly, we've Driven by a few times on the weekends but it's always super busy(small parking lot) no where to park so we just moved on, we'll we made it our mission to finally eat here so we went early on a Friday, they were busy but had a few tables still available. Service & food did not disappoint!! I LOVE that POTATOES & beans are offered with their breakfast entrees I'm not a fan of Rice offered @ majority of mex places for breakfast. Old school Az Mex Food just like my mom & nana use to cook. This will definitely be our weekday food spot. Daughter had red enchilada plate & I had Huevos Rancheros! Their homemade green(Spicy) & chunky red salsas are Delicious too!
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
So the Menudo was great. Had a great red color to it and a nice spice. Not too hot but not too mild. Just right. The bread was nicely buttered and toasted to perfection. The cheese Chris is nice and cheesy. Both meals were prepared hot and ready.

Yelp
This is my second time eating here. Its a really cool place. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It is kinda hard to find. So slow down when your in the area or else you will pass it. The burritos are flavorful and they stuff them nicely. I will return and recommend. This is a solid spot.
google avatar

Adrianna N.

Yelp
Grew up going here, so glad they've stuck around for a couple decades. Best burritos and tortillas and salsas around!

Robyn M.

Yelp
Beware! They do not have a Mexican pastry case or sell Mexican pastries any longer contrary to the photos of the establishment! Disappointed after driving here from some distance away. Business needs to update their Yelp site.
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
We've been eating at this hidden gem for 14+ years! They're always friendly and great food. Their chips and salsa are amazing and freshly made daily. They are our go- to for tacos...only $2 everyday for Taco Happy Hour. It's a must try....
google avatar

Maricel G.

Yelp
Love the baked goods made fresh daily and such a great price too! The burritos are full of meats and yummy goodness. Family owned and always so friendly when we come in. Fast service and authentically Mexican foods! I recommend this place to anyone visiting from out of town to enjoy great food.

Dan Z.

Yelp
Best meal so far on this trip! Had the super bueno breakfast burrito which was delicious! Tons by of flavor, nice size, and the salsa was great! The wife had Huevos rancheros and loved it! The melon Augua Fresca was excellent!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I LOVE this spot, our new favorite Mexican food cafe. Really good authentic Mexican food was on point.
google avatar

Maricel G.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican place to enjoy down home food. Prepared and served by the family owners. This place has the best "Super" burritos. Our favorite local taco & burrito spot. They also have delicious plates and don't forget to grab a bag of daily baked Mexican baked goodies from empanadas, macarons and concha's cookies.
google avatar

Yelp
My boyfriend woke up wanting Mexican food for breakfast and decided on this place because my daughter's name is Sol. What a great choice, the ambiance!! The staff was great, they have beautiful art work all over the place, it's such a treat just to see the inside! And the music, this place is pure perfection! We got 2 burritos, a steak egg and cheese (con papas) and a chorizo burrito as well as a Plato de chorizo. So, while we were ordering (you order and pay before sitting), this guy walked in without a mask and had the worst attitude about being asked to wear a mask because this establishment still requires you wear one upon entering and the ladies handled his nastiness so well! Anyway, back to the amazingness that was this place, our food arrived so fast!! We also got their aguas frescas; agua de sandía y agua de limón. They were so perfect! Tasted fresh and sweet but not overly sweetened. The burritos were great (I think their tortillas might be made in house, they still had flour residue), the size was big, I added cheese to my steak burrito and egg, to steak, to potato and cheese ratio was perfect. The meat is less like asada and more like cubed steak. The chorizo was so good, I liked that it wasn't super greasy like these tend to be. The chorizo plate was perfectly portioned and came with a flour tortilla. Can't wait to come back and try more of their food. The owner was also here checking on people, making sure everyone was satisfied, such great hospitality. Such a great experience and delicious Mexican food. It's so tricky eating Mexican food out when you're Mexican because we have certain expectations and this place met them all!! Don't forget to get the chips and salsa, too!!

Yelp
Thank you for continuing to keep safety precautions during the pandemic. Thank you for keeping not only yourselves safe & healthy, but also your customer's! Great service & delicious food! If you're in the area please continue to support this small family owned business!
google avatar

Casey J.

Yelp
THE BEST BURRITOS I'VE EVER HAD. Seriously. And I've eaten tons of burritos in my time. Every ingredient is top notch. The tortillas are fresh and authentic. The salsa is just right. My recommendation: Try the chorizo, egg and potato burrito. If that isn't your style, try something else. The entire menu is amazing so you really can't go wrong.
google avatar

Marisa B.

Yelp
This place is DELICIOUS!!! I love how they decorated it inside and the eating area is pretty nice too, where you can eat in peace and not have all the people who come in and out and ordering. The service was great and they were so nice, my son. Loved his breakfast burrito and me and my unborn baby loved our breakfast burrito as well. Their sauce is so good!! My son, who is visiting me from San Diego said this better than the breakfast burrito place my dad takes me too. Haha...Will definitely be coming back! Had to also splurge on their treats and tortillas, bought some. YUM!!!
google avatar

Ebony R.

Yelp
Great customer service, very current payment system, beautiful art everywhere, music going through the restaurant and a huge menu! The carne asada is so tender and the enchilada sauce for their enchilada style burrito is delicious! Their homemade red salsa is perfectly blended with a nice kick and their tortillas are fantastic. Only thing I'd say was lacking is the chorizo, it's good but I'm used to it homemade dripping with oil and spicy but theirs is clean and makes a burrito that's filling without bogging you don't if you want to have it during the middle of your work day. I'll definitely be back, can't wait to try other things!
google avatar

Bill S.

Yelp
First time in this place but it won't be the last. The Chorizo Burrito was incredible - one of the best I've ever had. The cherry empanada was gone before my wife would share with me. And the cinnamon sugar tortilla was amazing and melted in your mouth.
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
The best breakfast burritos and authentic Mexican food I have found. So yummy. I only wish they were open longer as they close after lunch.
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Seriously the best Mexican food in chandler. Really miss their other restaurant that closed El Zocalo...and the hours at this location are hard to make most days. Check their hours as they run it for breakfast and lunch...wish they were open for dinner.
google avatar

Kelly Anne M.

Yelp
Cool vibe, kind service and tasty food. We had Saturday Menudo, a combo plate, chile verde burrito, chips and salsa, and jamaica. This was our first visit. We wanted to support a locally owned business and have a homemade meal. We will make this one of our favs.

Yelp
We found El Sol on yelp by a fluke and decided to try it. We ordered the menudo and it was AMAZING! The place was clean and service was great. I highly recommend
