Element 47 - Review - Aspen - The Infatuation

"Come to Element 47 when you’re ready to splurge on a tasting menu and ball out on caviar service and truffles shaved tableside. You’ll get dishes like housemade pastas, locally-raised wagyu, and farm-fresh produce sourced from area farms. Element 47 is also known for having one of the best wine programs in Colorado, with a massive subterranean cellar that they’ll give you a tour of if you ask really, really nicely. Make time for Ajax Tavern, too, also in the Little Nell hotel, for its double cheeseburgers, french fries, and a fun après-ski scene." - Katie Shapiro

The 15 Best Restaurants In Aspen

"Come to Element 47 when you’re ready to splurge on a tasting menu and are ready to ball out on caviar service and truffles shaved tableside. You’ll get dishes like handmade sourdough rigatoni with uni and lobster and then get to choose one of six wagyu cuts accompanied by a rich steak sauce. You should also make time for Ajax Tavern, which is also at The Little Nell hotel and has double cheeseburgers, truffle fries, and a fun après-ski scene. " - katie shapiro

"The name is a nod to Aspen’s origins as a silver mining town, and its location inside the luxurious Little Nell Hotel, mere steps away from the slopes, is certainly glitzy. Enter the sleek, modern dining room through the lounge (with a crackling fireplace in season) and settle in for Chef Matt Zubrod's approachable contemporary menu that highlights top-notch ingredients, from seasonal produce like wild mushrooms, to meats like locally raised lamb and wagyu-breed beef. Lighter dishes like salads are thoughtfully composed, and house-made pastas like hazelnut cavatelli with rabbit ragu and fennel will satisfy heartier appetites. Diners will make note of the array of bottles displayed behind glass in the bar area, a telltale sign of the restaurant’s impressive wine program." - Michelin Inspector

The 21 Essential Aspen Restaurants

"Tucked on the mountainside, five-star Little Nell hotel is a hideaway from the hustle and bustle. In name, Element 47 pays tribute to silver (the precious metal that put Aspen on the map), while in cuisine, the restaurant celebrates Colorado farms. Culinary director Matt Zubrod and executive chef Oscar Carrasco put an emphasis on wagyu beef, house-made pastas, and seasonal produce, all complemented by the property’s globally recognized wine program. This winter, in partnership with Jazz Aspen Snowmass, Element 47 presents live jazz during dinner service on Thursday and Sunday nights. Also save the dates for the monthly, four-course wine dinners, including a pop-up with Bobby Stuckey of the James Beard award-winner Frasca Food and Wine in Boulder." - Katie Shapiro

"The Perfect Salad After a long day of hiking, biking, running, and rafting my body usually craves something healthy but also satisfying. I found my perfect summer dish at Element 47, the newly remodeled restaurant at the Little Nell. Don't be fooled by the simple name on the menu. Element 47's Spring Vegetable Salad pays homage to the famous French chef Michel Bras who is known for his mastery of vegetables. At Element 47, chef Robert McCormick artfully prepares an assortment of 20 to 30 locally sourced, seasonal vegetables on the plate creating a vibrant dish that offers a surprising pop of flavors and textures with each bite. It's the type of dish I could order every night without ever getting bored."

This was our favorite restaurant in Aspen! We had a server named Gerino and he was fantastic. But overall, the other people that helped service our table were great as well. We started with deviled eggs and olives, then shared the sliders for a lighter meal. Everything was outstanding. The only thing that would have enhanced the sliders would be to add cheese but other than that I would highly recommend this restaurant. We sat in the bar area for quicker service. Very nice environment.

This was such a wonderful location to spend his birthday. Everyone and everything was just amazing! The duck and white asparagus were so delicious. For his birthday we were given a complimentary glass of champagne along! Just the sweetest time and we are looking forward to returning to Element 47. We stayed at Little Nell Residences so even the breakfast from Element 47 was spectacular! Fresh juices to live for! Only complaint I have… I can’t leave more than 5 stars this review! Thank you all for the experience. Great birthday dinner.

Out of all the places I've been to so far in Aspen, every single plate was phenomenal. The atmosphere was perfect! Our server was fantastic in recommendations. The bread rolls they serve before the meal are quite dangerous. They are addictive and delicious. I had the Grilled Gem Lettuce, perfectly smoky with refreshing flavors. The wagyu beef was one of the best steaks I've ever had. It was seared to perfection and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The smashed potatoes were great for a side for two people. Desserts were great as well. Literally everyone LOVED their meal-- duck, lobster salad.

This has been the most wonderful experience during my time in Aspen. Thank you, Zach, for introducing me to such amazing dishes—every bite was a delightful surprise. The care and thoughtfulness shown by Element 40 truly touched me. Thank you for your kind wishes—I’ll definitely be back next time!

My husband and I love coming here for lunch, breakfast and brunch! we'd come for dinner but we live in Carbondale but are avid ski and boarders. Element 47 has always been very hospitable and constant in their quality of service. Their menu is exquisite! And their quality of service is on point!

Google
A modern take on Aspen’s culinary scenery. With its ‘recommended’ status in Michelin guide, Element 47 is favorite for many. The outdoor seating in the patio surrounded by the fragrant flowers and crisp air adds another dimension to your culinary experience. The service is prompt, friendly and professional. The food is delightful, fresh, seasonal. The reservation is recommended offseason and required during the season. There is valet parking on site and also street parking is available. We went for a brunch and enjoyed the quiet outdoors.

Element 47 has a tremendous bar menu, good enough to return to. Highly recommend the wagyu burger sliders and tacos. Fries, nuts, bread and butter, and tortilla soup are also great. It is a Michelin recommended restaraunt and it is easy to see why.

A friend wanted to try this place with me and so we did, it is easily one of the best restaurants in town. I will have dreams about the Element 47 hot chocolate for a very long time after hearing about it forever and finally trying it myself. It is so decadent but not too sweet, the perfect drink treat on a cold snowy day. I also had the eggs and toast and chicken sausage, it was pretty good because I was trying to stay healthy but I’m sure their other breakfast options are also amazing. My friend had the avocado toast and a side pastry and both looked divine. You cannot go wrong here, just go here.

Yelp
I heard this was a Michelin guide restaurant, so I had to check it out during our trip to Aspen...even without my husband and son (out skiing!). As expected, the place was nice (located within a first-rate hotel, Little Nell), and the service was top notch...from start to finish. Surprisingly, I was able to slide right in without a reservation...and I loved the lofty space and the wide, open views from my seating area. Since this was an early lunch, I just ordered their Fettucini and one of their virgin libations, Gonzo. Even for lunch, they treated me to these delicious complimentary rolls. I will say that their lunch menu was quite skimpy...but in the end, this wasn't a problem. Well, the Fettuccini was Gorgeous...as in pure Food Art...and it tasted even better! It was this green-colored, Pesto flavored Fettuccini, and included these tasty Lardons (cubes of ham). I absolutely LOVED this dish. Really enjoyed the virgin drink, Gonzo, too. This was truly one of my favorite, leisure dining experiences in Aspen. Unlike most other places I've been to, the tables were laid out comfortably apart from others. The service was impeccable...and In terms of food, this Fettuccini dish was possibly THE favorite from my entire Aspen vacation!

Yelp
This place must be better for dinner than it is for breakfast / lunch. Extremely limited menu and food was generally unspectacular for the price. Overall, I'd pass on this establishment.

Yelp
The vibe here is classy and chill. A wonderful place for whatever you are in the mood for. Delicious food, tasty drinks, or relax by the fireplace with some snacks. I wish I asked our waiter's name as she provided excellent service and we really enjoyed our time. The gnocchi with oxtail was delicious!

Yelp
NOT worthy of 5 Star/Forbes 5 Diamond Property. Husband & I have visited three times for brunch this summer. We've given it 3 chances because of the location hoping for a better experience after 1st two terrible experiences. Very low-quality food for obscene price. While we are the opposite of cheap, we were both starving after our tiny Huevos Rancheros and Breakfast Enchiladas. There is no way we could last until lunch with these little portions let alone have the energy to walk the Rio Grande. We were not looking to pig out. We just wanted a proper filling satisfying breakfast for morning energy. We were still so hungry that we ordered "poultry" sausage which was disgusting & supposed "Everything" bagels which tasted like generic "Nothing" plain stale bread rolls. Executive Chef can easily order high quality real NYC bagels from H&H Bagels wholesale. There is absolutely no reason to serve such a terrible excuse for a bagel. Not sure how the Little Nell keeps its 5 star/5 Forbes Diamond by serving such terrible food. Also, the seat of the booth we sat in was ripped (see pic). We felt like we were at Denny's. We wish Ajax Tavern was open for breakfast as they always get it right!

Yelp
This restaurant earns the prize for worst service in Aspen. The standard of service was very poor. We struggled to get the attention of restaurant staff, the pacing of the meal was off, it took a long time to be asked for drinks to start and for them to be served. In general, the wait staff lacked basic grace, style, charm. Moreover, we found the food to be bland and uninspired. The wine was excellent.

Yelp
This is a pleasant restaurant in Aspen's most famous hotel. It's probably not quite as good as that description would suggest, but perfectly adequate. We had the five-course tasting menu, which was well presented, but without any real knockout courses, although there were tasty components in each. We also had both the sommelier and premium wine pairings. In each instance the premium wines were MUCH better. Service by the sommelier was friendly and informative. Food service was pretty slow, but the lovely outside summer dining area provided a pleasant venue to pass the time. While neither the meal nor the wines were knockouts, the pricing was certainly fair for what we were served.

Yelp
Sat down at 6pm. Didn't get food until 7:10pm. The Caesar was not good. They had mackerel instead of the traditional anchovy. Why ruin a classic trying to be different? We left the fish pieces. Did not go well. Presentation was strange as well. My lobster pasta was too lemony and just meh. Kids burger was inedible. Steak was good. Service was good. Ambience was nice. Sadly won't be dinning here again. So many amazing restaurants. Not sure how they have a Michelin anything.

Yelp
Great food and a good wine list! Menu always good - try the elk if available! Chef is a great guy too!!

Yelp
If you happen to be staying at The Little Nell or visiting Aspen make brunch reservations at Element 47. Pancake lovers: try the Lemon Soufflé Pancakes, there's just the right amount of citrus in these decadent fluffy pancakes. Vegans & avo toast lovers try the Avocado Toast. Plentiful, perfectly seasoned mashed avocado with feta & pickled onions on house baked bread is superb. Another vegan option is the Warrior Pudding Bowl, this healthy dish is super flavorful, light yet filling. Ingredients include quinoa, hemp, chia & oat. The Nell's famous Hot Cocoa is rich, creamy & a quintessential tribute to Valrhona's top of the heap chocolate. The recipe includes half & half, sugar, Valrhona cocoa powder & chocolate. It's unreal! I'm a pastry fanatic so I always can't wait to hear what flavor hand pie (pop tart esque) is on the menu. I also stash one in my ski back pack, makes the chairlift ride even more fun!

Yelp
Had such a wonderful dinner here, the atmosphere was fantastic. They had a great live band and it wasn't too loud. Our meals were coursed out perfectly and such a unique experience. The staff was friendly and attentive and took the time to add little extra surprises to make our meal really special. If you're looking for a great dining experience you wont regret coming here for a meal!

Yelp
We were able to combine two reservations and get a table for 9. It turned out that the whole menu was Pre Fixe and $150 pp plus expensive drinks. The price wasn't surprising given that it's Aspen proper. The restaurant seems to cater to the old rich and fancies itself as fine molecular dining. However, anyone who has been to Michelin star restaurants in places like NYC would immediately be able to tell that they're not at that level. Overall, the food was not bad, but it was just very small portions considering the price. I would try other places in town.

Yelp
My husband and I came in for our wedding anniversary. The service was AMAZING and the server had great recommendations based on what we liked. The food was so good my husband and I left very happy.

Yelp
Coming from Chicago, I always look for a bar that can whip up some amazing cocktails when traveling the world. This is the best place I have found in aspen as every cocktail has their own unique touch. Cocktails: - refreshing gin/vodka drinks that are uniquely crafted and taste delicious. A handful of drinks that are beautifully constructed, light, and super tasteful. - whiskey -- I have had a million old fashions and there is nothing that compares to Kyle's maple old fashion. I always hesitate to order an old fashion over $13 Bc I can usually make my own that will crush their own but this is not this does not apply at element 47. Kyle has made an amazing custom spice that elevates the old fashion to a world class level. Top competitor across Chicago, Japan, NYC. Service: what separates this place from the top contenders in some of the biggest/hottest cities in the world is the service. Kyle, Cara and Andy were all amazing with speed of service and recommendation. They can take you on a cocktail journey of creative excellence. Cheers to Element!

Yelp
Love this place! The food was delicious. We got wagyu burgers and they were perfect! Also friendly and helpful staff!

Yelp
Eat elsewhere. Very poor Christmas Eve meal. Barely edible and not worth $350. Such poor service. Waitress lost track of our courses. Unbelievable.

Yelp
Very underwhelming prix fixe. Would not recommend. Pacing of meal and quality poor. Definitely not worth $350 pperson.

Yelp
If you want a special and elegant dinner, Element 47 at the Little Nell is the place. It's definitely pricey when you visit for dinner as they only offer a prix fixe menu but everything is impeccable, from the service to the food. The room is beautiful, seating comfortable, and our waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive. The wine list is impressive and everything we tasted was delicious and beautifully presented. My husband especially enjoyed the Wagyu Tartare and the Hudson Valley Foie Gras. As for me, the highlights were the Charred Octopus and the Halibut, served with a light beurre blanc. For dessert, the Elements Of Citrus was very creative, like an abstract rendition of a key lime pie, full of flavor. But the Valrhona Chocolate Soufflé was served in a ramekin too small to really be as light as it should be, a little disappointing when you are used to the real decadent ones in France. We loved the fact that nothing was rushed, some might find the pace slow, we did find it perfect. We had a wonderful dinner!
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Loved this restaurant! Such an upscale experience. Beautiful ambience, and the service was great. They were very helpful with my allergies and communicated very nicely. The octopus was probably my favorite dish. Our server had brown braids, and she was very nice.

Matilda M.

Yelp
We had Valentine's day dinner. We could not order anything from the regular menu, which would have been fine if the options were good. When we finished our three-course dinner, we were still hungry. At $125 per person, at least would have wanted to feel somewhat full. Wine paring was an additional $100. After paying $225 per person, we had to go find something else to eat in town. That is pathetic.
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
If you're looking for fine dinning in Aspen, this is a must! The ambiance is exquisite with full scale service, from water cups to wine classes. The flavors in every dish were phenomenal and unique. This was hands down, the best 5-star experience I have had.
google avatar

Caitlin N.

Yelp
This review is for drinks only!! We have been here 6-7 times now over the years and every time it is for drinks and light snacks while we are staying in the hotel. While I am just now getting around to reviewing it I do have to say their drinks never disappoint! I am happy to always have a good experience while I am in Aspen with something as consistent as Element 47.
google avatar

Yen D.

Yelp
Service was great. Came here for Valentine's Day dinner. Was thrown off on why there was only two amuse bouches total for me and my date. There was only one oyster and another so I didn't get to try my date's amuse bouche. I'm used to having my own amuse bouche without having to share. Hamachi crudo was great! Loved how it paired with the caviar and the Le Gran Dame Veuve cliquot. I didn't care much for the celeriac root tortellini. Felt the tortellini skin was a bit thick. I thought the scallop dish was well executed and the wagyu was also cooked well. The red cake at the end was a bit too sweet for my taste so I couldn't eat much of it. At the end we were given what tasted like caramel fudge. It was quite soft and I was glad it was small because it was the usual fudge sweetness. Overall great ambiance and good food, would be back again!

Yelp
This restaurant is inside Little Nell Hotel. It's a very nice posh hotel at the bottom of the ski lifts. We were greeting walking in and served right away. We came for breakfast because I love French toast. I can't remember what my husband ordered but it was delicious, but it didn't top my French toast. Probably the best French toast I've ever had, and I've traveled around the world and tried them all. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the Glenwood Springs or Aspen area. The price is steep since it's in Aspen but worth every penny.
google avatar

Khaled A.

Yelp
We had a superb breakfast here and would highly recommend visiting this place! We went here on a Sunday around 8:30am and it was almost empty (late September). You might be safe just walking in for breakfast if it's not skiing season. We opted to go with the menu rather than the buffet (even though the buffet looked good as well). We started off with zucchini cake as a compliment from the chef. Next we decided to go with the duck confit chilaquiles and the little nell omelette. Would highly recommend the duck!!! It was on the heavy side but very delicious. The omelette was ok but nothing special. For dessert we decided to share the almond brioche french toast and it was spectacular. Also the portion was very generous both in terms of berries and french toast. Finally I have to say the service was great and the outside tables would make a great atmosphere if the weather was warmer a bit. Here are my ratings: Duck confit: 8.5 The little nell omelette: 7.5 Almond brooch french toast: 9

Shana D.

Yelp
Went there the other night and had the best time. The food and service is amazing! Definitely get the steak it's phenomenal

Hunter M.

Yelp
Portions were minuscule at best and staff hardly understood anything about wine nor were they comforting and kind. Overpriced food that came out warm and not hot. Order gnocchi for a group of 6 and received 10 pieces with some odd looking vegetables for $32 absolutely ridiculous. Would not have been enough for 1 person. Spring Salad was $28 and the portion could fit in the palm of my hand and was only given to 1 person. Not to mention cocktails were served roughly 35 minutes after they were ordered. I would be embarrassed if I was the owner of this establishment. Piss pour EVERYTHING. I would recommend any other restaurant in the area. This place will never have my business again. A truly sad excuse of a restaurant.

Yelp
We've had one of the worst food experiences in Aspen at Element 47 last night. Upon check-in, the hostess asked for my husband's name, so he gave her his last name. From there on, everything was "please let me show you your table, Mr. H.", "are you enjoying the food, Mr. H." And so on. Meanwhile I (female, wife, mother) was going to take out the family for dinner and no one ever asked for my name (different last name, by the way) or if I (the one paying the bill) was enjoying the food. Which, in all honesty, I wasn't at all. The little appetizer that they brought to the table with "compliments from the chef, Mr. H." set the tone for a mediocre dining experience. There wasn't a variety in flavors, the fish tasted too fishy and the duck too gamey. Not enjoyable. At the end, the bill arrived and there were two extra charges for the desserts on it. I asked the waiter that I thought it was a Prix-fixe menu so why would we be charged for dessert and he said that he apologizes but he hit the wrong button on the register. VERY hard to believe that there would even be an extra button when the only menu option is Prix-fixe! It would have been an extra $38 and maybe the majority of the guests at the Little Nell don't check the bill so closely, but I would highly recommend making sure that you don't get charged extra. Overall, a highly unpleasant experience for a $300+ dinner. We ate at a place called "White House" in town the prior night and the food was amazing and the service highly pleasant. There are good places in town. Not sure why the presumably best hotel in town has such a mediocre restaurant.

Yelp
We were visiting aspen for thanksgiving and decided to come here for thanksgiving dinner. They did a price fixed menu at $150 pp (which for the area isn't out of line but it's still pricy especially for what we received). Sadly, the experience was average at best. The restaurant is in a hotel, which is fine but the ambience itself is quite generic. The table settings were average. We had a reservation but had to wait almost 40 minutes before being seated after our reservation time which was a bit wild because we visibly saw open tables. We waited at the bar but their drink prices were definitely on the high side ($20 average for a cocktail but again, this is likely the norm for the area). The bar tenders were all incredibly lovely and they are worth a visit for sure (they provided great recommendations and tastes of things we were contemplating getting). The menu allowed us to choose a first, second and third course and then came with family style "thanksgiving" sides. The breads came out first and they were very disappointing. Cold buns and corn bread with some butter that had flower petals in it (please warm your breads and do a compound butter not just add flavorless decorations). Two of us had the salad for our first course (very good) and one person got the bisque (ok). Then our mains: one got the waygu (which was by far the best but also at a $15+ surcharge) , I got the salmon (average at best- I make salmon at home often and I probably do a better job to be honest), and then one got the Turkey - traditional thanksgiving (with mash and toasted veg) but the dish was VERY SALTY. The sides saved the mains - they were very homey and definitely left us stuffed but we did have to ask for more as we noticed a two top table got far larger portions than we received. Dessert we all got apple pie- it was very disappointing. Overly heavy cinnamon flavor and the ice cream was icy, not creamy and again the temperature of the pie itself was not hot. Overall, this place was very expensive and average at best, probably below average if I'm being honest (I've been to much nicer places in NYC and in Texas) but thankfully I didn't have to cook so that was a huge win for me on the holiday.

Yelp
My first meal in Aspen - ever! And wow! I definitely recommend Element 47 at the Little Nell when in Aspen Nothing on the menu disappointed. We had a lot of different plates to share family style, a highlight for me was the seafood dishes especially the Hawaiian Mero Bass with brussels, kuri squash, shitake, gigante beans, and the Black Bass with salsify, broccolini, mustard greens, ginger velouté. There were a lot of exquisite mushrooms throughout the night as well, I've never tasted such flavorful mushrooms! Chef @lucasgrocca is a master ‍ and the wait staff were impeccable! We enjoyed some excellent wines from Spain and France Seafood and wine are usually the healthiest choices if you are being health conscious while eating out.

Yelp
It's a shame that such a review needs to be written after supporting this place for decades. It's gone completely down hill with the current management. My wife and I had always gone to the little Nell for apres ski, Ajax for lunch. Element 47 for breakfast. I was very disappointed to hear during Labor Day that they wouldn't be serving breakfast to anyone not staying in the restaurant. Ok, I can understand that. We came back over the holidays, Called first. The girl that answered the phone said come on down. We're serving everyone first come first serve. When we arrived, they checked a half filled room and came back with"we don't have any tables, we said that we see plenty of tables and they said those are being held in the event a hotel hotel guest wants breakfast. They were very rude. Power hungry, and I feel misinformed. I won't be returning. Jerome is the spot. Wonderful service, wonderful people. And honestly, the food is much better than Element 47/ Nell

Yelp
I had the shrimp and grits and steak. I thought the shrimp and grits were decent but everything is very overly salty. My favorite part of the restaurant was their bread - they got their bread game down. The quality of the food declined while the prices increased. I don't recommend them, take your money elsewhere
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
Ok, this place was just flat out disappointing. The tip off should have been that it was a hotel restaurant, but I thought we'd moved past that stereotype. Apparently not. Service was a major issue. Seated for 15 minutes before our server appeared to see about drinks. Wine was not poured until first course was being cleared from the table. Wine glasses not refilled leaving significant portions of the meal to be wine free. A la carte side dish completely omitted from main course (and subsequently removed from the bill). Lengthy period of being left completely alone following main courses leaving us to conclude a rapid exit rather than dessert was the wisest course. We did not have a spare two hours for dessert. Food was also not a great experience. The tartare was so salty as to be inedible - it was sent back. The Sourdough Rigatoni was a good, though not great dish. For mains both the Duck and Sea Bass were over cooked. By that point we were beyond sending things back and chalking the meal up to an error of judgement. The wine list is huge and I suppose one of those instances where the owner thought size was important. While there were many fine bottles on the list the size of the list could not overcome the inadequacy of the overall experience. It turns out size wasn't important and they should have focused on quality of restaurant instead of quantity of wine.

Yelp
A cute little hotel restaurant spot with delicious breakfast offerings. I had the banana walnut French toast which was perfection, not too sweet with just the right amount of banana puree / banana walnut toppings. The green juice was also solid as well. Two thumbs up for a breakfast "treat yourself" kind of day!
google avatar

Dominika L.

Yelp
One of the best options for breakfast and brunch in Aspen. The best pancakes in town. I recommend French Toasts as well. Delicious! Great wine and dessert wine selection.
google avatar

Eric T.

Yelp
Located in the Little Nell hotel at the base of Aspen Mountain, this upscale modern French restaurant is worth a visit. It deserves a 4.5 star rating. From the cheese cart brought table-side, to the buttery salt topped fresh baked bread delivered in a skillet, this place has a lot to offer, albeit with a large price tag. The egg yolk infused ravioli was about as rich as a dish can be, but was bursting with flavor. The presentation of the poached lobster was a change of pace. They dispensed with displaying the tail on its shell, and instead, removed it and placed two small de-shelled claws on both sides of it. A much more appetizing way to present what looks like a giant sea bug. The sommelier looked like a teenager, but knew his stuff. The wine list is extensive, and includes some nice half bottles. The deconstructed banana cream pie with house made ice cream was the perfect ending to an excellent meal.

Yelp
One of the best fine dining experiences you can have in Aspen! The restaurant setting is very elegant and refined. My husband and I ordered the 4 course tasting menu and were surprised at how big the portions were. Everything was delicious. Our favorites were the wagu beef over risotto, lamb shank and strawberry cheesecake at for dessert. Definitely a must try if in Aspen!!

Yelp
Very high end and arguably the No 1 rated restaurant in Colorado. Aged Duck was superb, wagyu steaks increasingly. Wine list very extensive. Great service and setting.

Yelp
I asked for a vegetarian dish they served me meat ravioli! After I asked the waiter TWICE "Are you sure this is vegetarian?" He replied YES. The fish that was served was dry and over cooked. Over all food and service was not worth the money. Better to sit at the bar and have a drink.

Yelp
One of the more memorable and incredible dining experiences I've had, even for Aspen. Right now there's an incredible deal for $47: appetizer + entrée + any dessert + glass of wine or pint of beer. For appetizers, we tried the crab cakes (perfectly crisp and meaty) and the ravioli (delicious egg mixed in with the pasta and tasty spinach). On to entrées, we had the bass and steak. Although the bass was perfectly cooked, it was lacking a bit of flavor and depth. However, the steak was decadent, perfectly cooked, and extremely tasty. Lastly, the desserts really, really sealed the deal. We tried almost all of them (showed in pictures) and they were all incredible. The ones that stood out were the sweet bites assortment and the strawberry shortcake. Ideally located, you must come at least once! Service was excellent.

Yelp
Only ever had their hot cocoa, but every time i come in, i sit at the bar and the bartenders are super friendly, one of the staff actually came to ask me where i get my hair cut (Eric at aspen Barber!). The cocoa is top notch, some of the best hot cocoa I've ever had. A little pricey and around $13 but it's a large portion and they give you free snacks to go with it. The atmosphere is cozy and sophisticated which is to be expected from the little nell.

Yelp
I think Yelp needs to add another $ to this restaurant - extreme megabucks to eat here. That said...it was definitely delicious. We (again) chose to sit outside, but not before grabbing a drink at the bar and giving a polite smile/nod to Tony Bennett, who was performing in town and having dinner here that evening. The menu was simple, and most of us opted for a small and a large plate. Portion sizes are on the small side, but as with any restaurant of this caliber, as the price goes up the portion sizes go down. Not necessarily a bad thing - if they came out with a Cheesecake Factory sized dinner I would probably have been thrown off a bit. At this point of the trip I was meated-out, so I went for a salad (paonia farms lettuce) and the halibut. Both were good - but next time, after seeing some other meals floating around, I would have gone full blast and opted for the nettle tagliatelle & the wagyu cut. Great meal, extremely pricey. This was a company dinner, so my pocket didn't take a hit, but given the choice I would have a very hard time justifying what would end up being a $250 meal for two.

Yelp
Food is really good! The VERY bad part of this restaurant is dogs. I love dogs, I own a dog but what they allow dog owners here is way too much. When I go out to eat the last thing I want to see is dog with his dirty paws on the table, on the placemat that they serve my food on. Aspen is dog friendly place BUT there must be limits where people respect other people and its surroundings. Dogs should not be allowed inside a restaurant, jumping all over sofas and chairs, and most certainly not on tables. Even people with deep pockets should have manors and know right from wrong and if not it is the restaurant's job to make them aware. As much as the chef cares about the way food comes out, that much he should care how it gets presented and enjoyed.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at The Little Nell for our wedding and honeymoon in June, 2014. The staff at Element 47 overextended themselves at every turn. From our cake, to our wedding reception. We met with the pastry chef, the head chef, and the sommelier. Each had an element of excitement to add to our most special celebration. They waited on us wether we were dining or just passing through. I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful team who made us feel at home all week. Needless to say, when the staff care about their customers as these guys do the food quality is superior to anything you might find elsewhere in Aspen. Did I mention it was just the 2 of us (zero guests)? ...still, we were made to feel like complete rockstars. Thank you.

Yelp
Great food, kind service and beautiful atmosphere. All the food that we ate definitely one of kind culinary experience. MUST try tomato soup! I usually don't like tomato based food but this one I literally want to can it and bring it with me home! If chef was there I would have kissed him even if it was my 20th anniversary dinner with my husband!

Yelp
Lovely restaurant in a lovely town. The service was great, one of those places where they know what you want before you do. I was in town with my wife and in-laws and we all decided to go with the $47 prix fixe menu, which was the best value prix fixe menu that I've ever had. Normally I feel that with a prix fixe menu the restaurant would just offer their most basic dishes but the options here included some of their specialities. The portions were large as well. The salad appetizer was perfectly dressed and the way the vegetables were prepared, I even thought that there was shaved meat in it, it wasn't, it was a shaved vegetable. The parker rolls were fluffy and buttery, we even had seconds! The pasta was some of the best freshly made pasta that I've had. I was able to try both the strozzapreti (perfect bite) and the tagliatelle (perfect smooth texture). The salmon main was a perfect medium-rare, best cooked salmon. For dessert they did chocolate well. The chocolate sphere was too good to not keep eating, as well as the after dinner chocolates. Great meal!

Yelp
We were very disappointed with our dinner at Element 47. Compared to comprable Aspen restaurants, Element 47 just doesn't compete. Our service was extremely slow. Our table, along with every other we could see, waited over an hour and a half for our food. Our dinner ended up lasting 4 hours. At times we thought our server forgot about us. Staff didn't come by to refill water our take our order. The two stars are for the food, which was pretty decent. Overall, however, we were very disappointed and will be dining elsewhere for the future. We understand that Covid has put a strain on restaurant staff. In all honesty, a simple acknowledgment by the restaurant staff of something like "so sorry. Our kitchen is backed up. Your food should be coming out shortly.... would you like another drink?" would have made us much more understanding.
