Where To Get Affordable Takeout In LA

"So, you’re telling us a wood fired this pizza? Well, we hope it got a good severance package… We’ll see ourselves out now. All horrible puns aside, Elio’s Wood-Fired Pizza is an excellent little pop-up shop operating from the back of an early-aughts Chevy Silverado in a liquor store parking lot in Silver Lake. A basic, medium-sized cheese pie here costs $10 and comes with fresh basil, with each additional topping costing another $1. We often go for the sausage, pepper, and onions because we understand the value a sweet-spicy-crisp balance." - kat hong

Where To Get Pizza Delivery In LA

"Elio’s is finally back in the Silver Lake parking lot where they debuted last year as one of our favorite new pizza spots. And here’s a shocker: Their pizza truck oven is still making some really great pizzas. The heavily blistered pies are $12 for a personal-sized cheese, plus $1 for each topping - we usually get one with sausage, pepper, and onion, and one with artichoke and basil. Takeout only - order in person." - brett keating

Elio’s Wood Fire Pizza - Review - Silver Lake - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"If you want to impress someone by taking them to a spot that feels underground, go to Elio’s Wood Fire Pizza. Stationed daily at an empty parking lot in Echo Park, the mobile trailer’s lights glow its name in green, white, and red lights like a Vegas sign. Peek inside and you’ll see a wood-burning pizza oven that used to operate from an old pick-up truck back when the business launched in 2019. Outside, folks are milling around waiting for their 12-inch Neapolitan-style pizzas that come out quickly with a blistered, chewy crust while others are already enjoying theirs in the trunk of their cars. There are nine pizzas to choose from, with ingredients from burrata to barbecue chicken, but you can’t miss the prosciutto one layered over arugula and mozzarella." - Jean Trinh

Google
Got the Margarita pizza and added garlic and pepperoni. Delicious and fresh! The only downside is they have nowhere to sit and no napkins.

I’m really disappointed with the food service I witnessed at Elios Pizza. One of the workers drank from his soda, cut salami, made a pizza, and repeatedly touched his face — all without washing his hands even once. This is a serious health and hygiene issue. Proper handwashing should be standard in any food establishment, especially when handling raw ingredients. Watching this happen made me question the overall cleanliness and safety of the food being served. I hope management takes this seriously and enforces better hygiene training and supervision. Customers deserve to feel confident that their food is being prepared safely.

Google
This place is run by a fellow Guatemalan that makes amazing pizza. Was waiting for my pepperoni pie when another guy showed up and ordered like 10 pizzas. He told me that he the place made the best pizzas, that he was a regular. The truth is the pizza is amazing. You probably want to keep the pizza simple, not too many topping, that will make the flavor the best ever. The place is now a food truck in front of liquor store. You can park at the liquor store and walk 20 feet to get to the truck. Worth it!

Google
The pizza here is excellent - it’s very similar to the pizza in Italy! Crust is great, the flour they use is authentic and the sauce is perfect. Very reasonably priced. Best for takeaway.

Google
I didn’t enjoy my pizza here, they charge extra for ranch as a food truck. The pizza cost over twenty dollars… Wow! Real Restaurant pizza is cheaper with unlimited toppings. This is a greedy business. Why are there so many of these food trucks in LA selling hot dogs, pizza, no permits and charging restaurant prices..with All Mexican Staff. Italian pizza with no Italian staff for $20. My relatives in Rome would be ashamed . Nowhere to sit. This made me very sad :(

Google
The best street pizza. Loved it better when it was off the Toyota tailgate brick oven. But that's the city fault for making him buy a food truck

Jade Stone

Google
Love their pizza! On par with eating at a fancy high end pizzeria. Most folks eat in their car after ordering or they take away.

Google
It was my first time trying Elio’s Wood Fire Pizza truck… simple the best! -fresh flavor (great and delicious taste) -the crew was very attentive and friendly -12” pizza loaded with all your favorites ingredients! I’m definitely coming back for more!!!

Yelp
So I was supposed to eat at elsewhere on Saturday night, but I didn't anticipate a huge music event in Downtown LA & I ultimately came to Silver Lake for pizza due to poor parking situation in Downtown LA. Elio's Wood Fire Pizza (originally started in 2019) used to be a mega-popular street pizza spot operating in a parking lot with an Italian-imported wood-fired pizza oven sitting on the back of a pickup truck. Now the hype has died down a bit as I didn't have to wait in line when I came here on Saturday at 7:15 PM. [Parking]: Parking is Silver Lake is extremely difficult to come by, but Elio's Wood Fire Pizza is located in an open parking lot and it was one of the most hassle-free parking I have ever had in Silver Lake. Free and easy parking! [Ordering]: I placed an order and cashier said my pizza will be ready in 10-15 minutes. True to cashier's word I did receive my order in 10 minutes. [Menu]: 9 different 12-inch Neapolitan-style pizza with New York style dough - Cheese, Margherita Pizza, White, Prosciutto, Burrata, Veggie, Tres Carnes, BBQ, and Nutella. They also sell Caesar Salad. Additional toppings cost anywhere from $1 to $2. *** Margherita Pizza (Marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil - $13): My goodness what an amazing crispy crust. Mozzarella cheese was in semi-solid form and my pizza slices held the form without cheese dripping. *** This is a very underrated pizza spot. 4.5-star on pizza and bump up on convenient parking.

Yelp
Like wow! This truck is one block from our hotel. We got in around 8pm and was glad to know that we can walk to some food. Elio's is in a lot with another food truck. I got the Margherita Pizza and my brother ordered their Ceasar salad with lots of added toppings including chicken. Both items were very filling and hella good. My pizza had the perfect wood fire taste. You would think we were at a pizzeria not a food truck. Bravo Five star

Anaida K.

Yelp
oh guys, well that was a very tasty pizza. both with cheese and with prosciutto are delicious. next time when I want a tasty pizza again I will come to this place. they said the waiting time is 20 minutes, but my pizza was ready in 15. I recommend this place.

Yelp
We had a really great experience here. The pizza was tasty, easy to find, easy parking. Service was also very nice. We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Ernesto E.

Yelp
The pizza at Elio's is amazing! They use fresh toppings which make the food taste even better. The service is always good! We come from Long Beach and it's definitely worth the drive.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday night and there was no wait. We ordered the prosciutto special. The service was excellent, and it took about 10 minutes to come out. Nowhere to sit and wait, but not a big deal. Prices are reasonable. Although the dough and crust were good, overall I wasn't impressed with the pizza. It was very bland. No salt, no oregano or garlic or anything. The tomato sauce didn't taste like anything and the center was soggy. I don't think the oven was hot enough. Still searching for the best pizza in LA compared to NYC, this isn't it.
google avatar

Heriberto C.

Yelp
I went on a 24-hr roadtrip just to have this pizza! Jokes aside, this pizza is incredible. Just like others, I first saw this place on Youtube a couple of years ago, and always told myself that when I went to LA, I would go here. I never forgot, and I'm glad I didn't. We had the Margherita and Meat Lovers pizza and I have to say, it's not just good for a food truck, it's good in general. The dough is amazing, the cheese, sauce, and toppings all taste so fresh. The pizza wasn't greasy either, so we didn't feel like crap after eating it. I just wish there was one in Houston I could go to all the time, but I'd hop on the road again just to have this Elio's.

Yelp
10/10! I drove from Irvine to try out this pizza. Absolutely no regrets!!! This is legitimately some of the best pizza I have ever had. I've gone all the way to NY for pizza before and it is absolutely crazy that this food truck is better than most of the places in NY. I can't recommend this place enough! So delicious!!!
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
One of the best pizzas in L.A.! Just search the internet for his story. A real wood fired pizza oven in a food truck! Perfect delicious Napolitano pizza. Served up fast and less expensive than neighboring brick and mortars. I am a long time fan. Viva Elio!
google avatar

Candace Angelica S.

Yelp
We've been coming to Elio's since the oven was in back of a truck. When we first moved to LA, a friend of mine recommended Elio's to us. Back then, the prices were super cheap: $9-$10 for a margherita pizza! I believe the spicy salami was only $12. The cost of living has gone up so understandably the prices have increased. I'm happy to see Elio's have their own food truck now, but I do kinda miss the uniqueness of the pickup truck. There used to be tables surrounding the truck around Covid era and I miss the community of it. There used to be a long line of people here late into the night. Not sure if it's still like that because it's been a min since we've come here at night. Service is always fast and the folks that run Elio's are genuinely nice. Definitely recommend this place if you're a a pizza lover.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Very fresh and the folks that run it are very nice. One of the better pizza's that I have had. Good prices for an excellent meal.

Yelp
It was a Sunday night when we decided to come out and grab some pizza for dinner. When we pulled up, it wasn't busy at all. There was no wait so we were able to order pizzas right away. We got one prosciutto and one burrata pizza. Total was $37 which is not too bad for two pizzas in LA which were relatively good sizes too. We ended up eating the pizza in the car since he wanted to eat it as fresh as possible. Not bad the crust was good however a little bit heavy in the middle.
google avatar

Elle C.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for several years so I was very excited to check it off the list. We got the prosciutto special. The cheese was super gooey with an excellent cheese pull. The dough is NY style. The taste was good, but I wasn't wowed by anything original. I do wish that they had put the prosciutto down first and then the arugula as the last topping as the heat wilted the arugula fairly quickly. Service was friendly. There was ample parking spots on the lot which the food truck is located. There isn't anywhere to eat except in your car. Tip: If you take the prosciutto special home, add some hot honey or honey to it. Game changer.
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
Best quick grab pizza in town! Even better than fancy places. service, ambiance, and food is top notch.
google avatar

Josh E.

Yelp
This is hands down one of the best value pizza places (or food truck) in LA! For a few more dollars than your typical pizza chain, you're getting premium NY style pizza that's halfway to Neapolitan. This is because the pizza is baked in a wood fired oven installed inside the food truck, which sounds crazy but true (look at my pics)! I ordered the Margherita and it was made as promptly as humanly possible. Unlike some food trucks, Elio's accepts cards with a Square POS machine. Unfortunately, there is no seating in the parking lot; it's mainly a takeout joint. On the flip side, there's plenty of parking so you can wait around while your order's cooking. For something so cheap, you're already getting more than what you pay for so they gotta cut cost somewhere, and there's no better place to cut than in seating.
google avatar

Danica L.

Yelp
I love the concept of a food truck wood fire pizza! Parking was very easy as there is a big parking lot next to the truck. I ordered the Prosciutto Pizza and Tres Carnes Pizza and they were both delicious! The ingredients taste pretty fresh. The only thing that would stop me from going often is the price as it is a little pricey for pizza, but overall was very good! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Chrystal Skye J.

Yelp
Went here tonight! Ordered the prosciutto pizza and it was delicious! Wood fired, thin crust, fresh mozzarella etc!

Kung P.

Yelp
Server canceled my order and told the grub driver that there was no pizza when i had placed an order for 2 simple pizzas. A margarita and bbq chicken. very simple not hard for a pizza place. I get a frantic and very rude call from the grub hub driver saying there is no pizza here for me at the pizza place they cancelled my order. I didn't know what he was talking about and after 2 strange calls like this i call the pizza place and some rude woman answers and says 'Oh they cancelled part of my order because they simply ran out'. Now that is fine and I understand that happens but why not tell the driver that? so he could have told me that? the driver left, and I could have ordered a diff kind of pizza, now the woman says, i can order a diff kind of pizza and pay to to have it delivered again. Oh this just makes perfect sense. what a bunch of morons. waste of my time and money.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Been coming to Elios for a while now never made a review! But let me just say this is hands down one of the best wood fire pizza spots ever!! I wish I can have elios every weekend lol
google avatar

Cecilia H.

Yelp
This has been a long time book mark for me and I finally got the chance to go and try it. I ordered the Margherita and the meat lovers and I just thought both pizzas were just ok. Granted, I don't live close to this area and for "street" pizza I'd say this is above average. I just don't see the hype for this place and certainly would not drive 35 minutes out of the way for it. Customer service was good and it was located in a spot with ample parking.
google avatar

Dory L.

Yelp
My second time getting pizza from here and honestly it does not disappoint! I remember the first time I went he didn't have his food truck, it was just from the back of his truck off of Sunset. He's still there but now with his food truck! We got the Tres Carnes Pizza, Nutella Pizza, and a Cesar salad. Everything was so good. Cheese so stringy, everything was cooked well. Flavor was AMAZING! seriously best pizza I've had in a while. Customer service was great as well. Cashier was kind, cook was nice as well. Wishing them more business!

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Decent price for freshly made pizza. It was bomb.com. Definitely recommend. 1 pizza feeds 1-2 people
google avatar

Theresa C.

Yelp
What a find! Legit wood fired pizzas from a food truck that tastes better than those at most restaurants. Ordered at the window and got fresh pizzas in less than 10 minutes. Pizza was so fresh and hot that I burned my tongue while eating it in the car (there's no seating here). Margherita ($13) is simple and lets the flavors of the sauce and cheese shine. The crust is perfectly chewy and charred in a few places. I would've liked more basil, or just have the leaves more evenly distributed so that every slice had some. Tres carnes ($17) is their version of a meat lover's pizza. A little salty, but that was expected with the three kinds of meat. The sausage is notably good here. Would definitely make a build your own with it as a topping next time. Two pizzas is enough for 3 people to leave very full. I reheated leftovers in the oven the next day and it was still fantastic. Will be back!

Helmer M.

Yelp
Some of the Best pizza my girlfriend and I have had! Highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for some pizza!

Yelp
All I can say is wow!!! We love love LOVE this spot. Hands down our favorite pizza spot. Never been disappointed. Love em to death.

Yelp
Elio's!!!!! I found out about this place on Youtube lol. Great food! I literally ate a whole pizza myself when I went! The location is good, plenty of parking and Elio's service is great. Although the food truck is located next to a busy street the vibe was cool. I'm definitely coming back for some more pie!

Nick S.

Yelp
Some of the best pizza in town! Delicious and fresh ingredients, filling, and affordable. My go-to when I'm in the area and I'm always recommending it to people. Never change Elio's!
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
Yuuuum!!!!!! My husband has been wanting to try this place for so long after seeing Elio's on a youtube video and we're so glad we finally got a chance to make it here. We got the standard cheese as our baseline since my husband's a pizza snob and we also got the margarita as we always enjoy the freshness of the basil and just dollops of cheese throughout. They definitely did not disappoint. The crust is cooked to perfection and every bite was just very equal in goodness. We ate a couple slices fresh from when we ordered from the truck and then brought the rest of the pizza to our outdoor movie picnic at a nearby LA park. It was still very tasty as it sat out and then we brought our leftovers home where my husband threw them in the airfryer the next day and still enjoyed every last bit of it. Super impressed by the quality of the pizza and the fact that it came from a food truck in a parking lot in LA is so fun to me!
google avatar

Rocio C.

Yelp
I would give this pizza a 4 out of 5 stars, it tastes delicious , the presentation was outstanding, the only small issue would be the price of the pizza, for example their average sized pizza was 14$, but the pizza itself wouldn't be average sized as you'd think. If you ignore that section the pizza was amazing :) There's plenty of parking, the customer service was great, try it out!
google avatar

Mayo M.

Yelp
Hands down the best pizza around! Elio's pizza has not ever disappointed me! I will continue to be a loyal customer. The taste, the toppings and the customer service is always top notch!
google avatar

Noah A.

Yelp
Always the best service in the business! My Girlfriend and I go out there all the time and love it so much. The location is a little different but boy do they deliver. Great Crust, fresh ingredients and amazing people! Servers and cooks are extremely nice. I would rather go here 7 out of the 7 days then pay for a dominos pizza. Good Job Elio's!

Daniel M.

Yelp
My favorite pizza in LA. Simply put their pizza is amazing coming from a food truck. Real wood fire taste, ingredients taste fresh and delicious. I come here at LEAST once a week. (I have a problem). Seriously recommend to all my friends and family. This truck is a gem.
google avatar

Miriam G.

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled on the documentary randomly and realized it was only 40 mins away. It was delicious!! We loved it and the people there were so nice. Even got to see Elio in the end which was a nice bonus. Admire his drive and determination hope he continues to grow!
google avatar

Vy H.

Yelp
The pizza here is quite good and popular with the locals. The flavors are on point. We prefer a marinara sauce that is slightly less acidic, so more of a preference than anything else.
google avatar

Brenda G.

Yelp
Great food .!!! You have to try it. Price is good .! Pizza comes out hot and juice and it taste delicious
google avatar

Judd A.

Yelp
This is the best pizza in LA and LA has a lot of great pizza. We made one pizza on our own with pepp pineapple and jalapeños. It was incredible. We went w the arugula and prosciutto pizza too. It was even better. The ingredients are incredibly fresh. We also grabbed a Cesar salad and it was awesome. We have family coming in on Thursday and we know where we are taking them. They even have ice cold bottled soda. You cannot miss at this spot. If they ever we r to a brick and mortar and wanted and investor - I'm in. Great service and fast cook speed. Go get you some pizza LA.
google avatar

Raúl R.

Yelp
I was craving a wood fire pizza and this spot satisfied my craving. I had the Margherita and added pepperoni. However the pepperoni was a bit disappointing. But over all the pizza was delicious. Service was great and friendly. Good place to come and have a pie after the Dodger Game. I will try something different soon.
google avatar

Joey Y.

Yelp
All I can say is whatever the hype that's been going around that is said about this pizza joint is not fake. The hype is real and this is by far one of the best pizza in So Cali.
google avatar

Eric W.

Yelp
One of the best pizzas in LA. Generous amounts of mozzarella cheese with a delicious sauce. Crust is soft but not too chewy. The pie is big enough to fill you up if you are moderately hungry. Very quick service too. About 10 minutes to make the pizza
google avatar

Rita C.

Yelp
Most delicious pizza I've had. We travel 2 1/2 hours just for this place twice a month! Highly recommended. It's best when it's hot straight from the oven.
google avatar

Janice C.

Yelp
Have been a huge fan of Elio's pizza since his pickup truck days! My go to pizza spot that doesn't make me feel like I'm in a food coma right after eating it. The pizza here is always delicious and they are very generous with their toppings. I will continue driving 40 minutes just to get my hands on this pizza!
google avatar

Rachel I.

Yelp
This pizza is unbelievable !!! I'm a regular at this point, I drive all the way from chino hills for a slice of this pie !! Food is always top notch Service is great Reasonable prices The wait isn't that bad, these people are beast and work super fast Totally understand the hype !! I suggest the basic cheese pizza , it will hit all your needs and more !!
google avatar

google avatar

Alexander S.

Yelp
Amazing pizza place, order four different ones and they all had me at hello . I have tried different spots but not like this one.
google avatar

Maximas G.

Yelp
Elio's NYC inspired wood oven pizza truck definitely stands out amid other west coast pizza joints. The pizza had nice leoparding on the crust with a nice chew, however both our pizzas suffered from a soggy bottom, so we had to do the good old "fold like a taco" technique. The Ingredients were fresh and the pizza had a nice balance between the saltiness of the cheese, and the acidity and sweetness from the sauce. The novelty of Elio's being a wood fired pizza oven pizza truck is pretty impressive. It seems hot in the truck so kudos to the employees for working hard and slinging out the pies so quick. The pizzas are priced around $15-18 on average. Service is quick. Plenty of parking available since the pizza truck is in a parking lot that you can pull into. Nowhere to sit, so be prepared to eat on the hood of your car or inside your car.
google avatar

Lucy L.

Yelp
I've seen taco trucks/stands, fruit stands, hotdog carts, etc. But have ya'll seen someone slanging pizzas from a pizza oven sitting on top of their truck?! Elio's Wood Fire pizza is a gem of a place and you need to check it out for yourself to see. I opted to try the margherita pizza ($12). The portion size is good enough for one person to consume or to split between 2 people depending on how hungry you are. Nothing beats fresh pizza! The pizza was thin, airy and the crust had the perfect crunch to it. My only qualms are that there not enough basil leaves and the wait for the pizza was over 1+ hour around 8pm. I'd suggest coming earlier when their pop up tent opens for business. Happy Eating!

Michelle L.

Yelp
I saw them featured on Munchies a few years ago and so glad that my family and I were able to finally check this place out! We came on a Thursday around 6pm and there was no line. The food truck was in a small parking lot and we were able to find parking especially since the lot was empty when we came. The staff was welcoming and friendly. These pizzas were definitely worth the hype! They were made to order and were piping hot when we got them-- it only took a few minutes after we ordered. We ordered the Margherita Pizza, Tres Carnes Pizza, and White Pizza. Everything tasted delicious and fresh plus the char on the crust was perfect! Will definitely recommend and cannot wait to come back! :)
google avatar

Ohmar G.

Yelp
This pizza is just as spectacular as people say it is. First off lemme say for the high quality that comes out of their pizza at their asking price, you are surely getting thee BEST food bargain in the area. My fav is the margherita pizza w extra garlic! Delicious hot fresh pizza every time!
google avatar

Jackie B.

Yelp
Finally able to try it out! Drove from Riverside to Los Angeles to try this pizza out. It was worth the drive and the calories. I got there a bit early and was able to see their set-up and the preparation for the night ahead. The price for each pizza is $15 and if you want to add additional toppings it'll cost you an additional $1. I got something I'm used to and familiar with the Margherrita pizza. It takes about 15 minutes to get it but once it's done and you start to enjoy it - it's delish! Thin crust and the toppings taste fresh. I wish they could add more cheese for a 5 star rating (lol). If you're in the adventure mode and can afford it check this place out! Elio's!
