Eli’s Table Restaurant Returns After Pandemic Hiatus | Eater NY

"Adjacent to Eli’s Table, Eli’s Market is part of Eli Zabar’s separate businesses—an enterprise of ten locations with about 400 employees that serves 2,000 to 3,000 customers a day and includes a wholesale bakery that delivers to hundreds of restaurants, hotels, and markets; the market and Eli’s restaurants are supported by a 20,000-square-foot greenhouse and rooftop gardens where Eli grows lettuces, tomatoes, lemons, figs, and strawberries, which help shape the menu." - Melissa McCart

Eli Zabar’s Grub Street Diet

"A produce‑forward market prized for very ripe Brazilian melons, large Argentine black cherries and extended‑season heirloom tomatoes grown from nearby greenhouses on 91st Street; it also plays a central role in the shop’s gift‑basket business and in developing sandwiches — notably a salmon niçoise whose celery, peppers, potatoes and haricots verts are being finely diced to improve structure and sturdiness on a brioche roll." - Paula Aceves, Maanvi Kapur

When I go to Guilford I make sure I stop in at Eli’s Market instead of going to the bigger store around my own town. I’ll stock up on my fresh produce because they have the freshest and the size compared to the other stores. Going into Eli’s the people are friendly. Since the first time I started going there when I’m down that way. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. I think when you find a place that is this friendly you will always appreciate them and go back. Thank you Eli’s Market

Eli's is a great little store. The produce section is my only complaint. Definitely needs to be bigger and have more produce

The place is absolutely phenomenal for getting everything you need. They have an extensive selection of food and grocery products. They also have beer, wine and hard alcohol. They also offer a wide variety of products. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They also provide face masks for you if you forget yours. I would highly recommend this place. By the way the quality and selection of meat is great

Comfortable hometown grocery with everything you need. Prices are surprisingly good and compare well to larger supermarkets in the area. Staff are delightful, attentive, and even remember your name as well as many of your regular needs. We love Whitney's. It's one of the reasons we are thrilled to have moved to Guilford -- this welcoming place.

Absolutely rude, terrible customer service. I will not be back id rather go to Shaws farther away now. I came in this store with my 2 siblings and daughter, the young girl at register 2 today around 5:00, braided brown hair had glared at us the whole check out and told me in the rudest way possible we have a lot of groceries and sat there and judged my family the whole time. My brother broke his ankle and felt very self cautious after leaving. We had just got done hours of driving and only got food for a cookout with 8 people. She has braided hair, I didn't get her name but I wish I did. I told her I hope she has a good day, she continues to roll her eyes and say nothing. I called to speak to manager and was left waiting for 20 mins...

This is a local grocery store for me. Everyone is very friendly. The meat is fresh. The produce is fresh. For a small town store it does carry a nice selection of brands. Prices are much better since it became Whitney's.
