The Best Restaurants in Palm Springs

"With numerous outlets throughout the Pacific Northwest, it’s a bit of an anomaly to see Elmer’s tucked into Palm Springs. Longtime owner Jacky Donnell often greets customers and chats up regulars inside the expansive standalone diner. Portions are heaping, prices are reasonable, and service is quick. The fluffy buttermilk pancakes arrive ready for plenty of whipped butter and maple syrup." - Mona Holmes, Eater Staff

Where To Eat Outside In Palm Springs

"Elmer’s might not have the modern shine of other breakfast/brunch spots in Palm Springs, but when you’re in the mood for a straightforward breakfast without any bells and whistles, you can’t beat it. The old-school diner has a large menu filled with every breakfast staple you could want - skillets, pancakes, waffles, crepes, and our favorite eggs Benedict in town. They currently have two outdoor patios and a new shaded dining area on the grass." - brant cox

"Though there are 25 locations of this Portland-born diner throughout the Northwest, this is the only California outpost and it’s the furthest thing from a run-of-the-mill franchise. Yes, there’s a massive laminated menu but that's half the fun. Lunch and dinner bring in a good amount of guests, but it’s the all-day breakfast that’s the true standout. German pancakes, oversize skillet omelets, and smokehouse bacon are particularly adored by both kids and those nursing wicked hangovers."

Had a lovely brunch at Elmer’s with my sisters! The service was excellent—very attentive and warm. Our food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and very family-friendly, with lots of smiles and good energy all around. A great spot for a relaxed and satisfying meal. We'll definitely be back!

A Classic Gem! Elmer’s is such a great spot for breakfast and lunch! The place gives off that cozy, vintage diner vibe that instantly feels welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious – hearty, flavorful, and the portion sizes are generous. You definitely won’t leave hungry! The service also stands out – the waiters are incredibly patient, friendly, and make sure you’re well taken care of. Their customer service is top-notch, which really adds to the whole experience. If you’re looking for a place with great food, nostalgic charm, and outstanding service, Elmer’s is a must-try!😋

So glad we stopped for brunch. Everything was amazing. We got sat immediately. Server very fast and prompt. Our food was delicious. Had the stuffed hash browns and biscuits and gravy and French toast. 10/10 Definitely going back

Google
An old fashioned place with a solid 60-year history. The Baby Dutch Pancake alone worth the price of admission ($2 extra gets you two eggs any way you like them and ham or bacon or sausage. The family-founded company prides itself rightfully on using phenomenal vendors in the northwest. A rustic atmosphere, conveniently located. The service is spotty but the prices are practical.

Elmer’s in Palm Springs is a hidden gem that feels like a warm hug and a hearty meal rolled into one. I came in for a quick bite and ended up discovering one of the best comfort dishes I’ve had in a long time — the Chicken Fried Steak Bowl. Perfectly crispy, tender steak, smothered in rich country gravy, laid over a bed of fluffy mashed potatoes and veggies — it’s the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. Pure comfort food bliss. Portions are generous, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere has that classic diner charm that just makes you want to stay a while. If you’re in Palm Springs and want something satisfying and soulful, don’t miss the Chicken Fried Steak Bowl at Elmer’s. Trust me, it hits the spot!

Elmer's is our consistent breakfast choice when we visit Palm Springs on weekends. It's always bustling with both tourists and locals. Their menu offers a wide variety of delicious options. While our food took a bit longer to arrive this time, it was understandable given how busy they were. The Lemon German Pancake is undeniably the highlight, it's truly a showstopper and easily shareable for the whole table! We also enjoyed the Eggwhite Veggie Bowl with a side of serrano peppers, which was tasty and incredibly satisfying due to the generous portions. Elmer's is definitely a must-visit when you're in Palm Springs!

I went there for breakfast. Had the Yukon French Toast and a Screwdriver. There are lots of great options. Good size portions. Delicious food and drinks! I will definitely be back next time I am in the desert.

Yelp
One of my favorite breakfast spots in Palm Springs! It's hard to believe that this restaurant is part of a chain because the food had a comforting vibe to it; nevertheless, this restaurant really knows how to whip up a smorgasbord worth of food for breakfast. Food (5/5) The one item you need to order is the famous German pancakes from here! I have to admit the wait for these pancakes can be a little long since it takes a while to make, but I have yet to find another breakfast restaurant in California that can make these type of pancakes like Elmer's does. The meal itself comes with a German pancake, 2 eggs and a choice of breakfast meat (easily 1500 calories so get ready for your nap after). The menu has new seasonal specials that are on the creative side, but I always stick to my go to order. This restaurant also has non breakfast items, but I would suggest sticking with breakfast since it's their speciality. Service (4.25/5) The service here varies based on the amount of customers that are dining here. The restaurant space is humongous and could feed a small army with their indoor and outdoor seating; yet, this restaurant can have a long wait during the busy seasons in Palm Springs. I recommend arriving early in the morning to avoid a long wait during peak seasons in Palm Springs. Ambiance (4/5) A true no frills place where the interior feels like grandmas house. This restaurant has an old school diner vibe with a fireplace and booths throughout the space. The A/C is always on full blast here so no cone can complain if it's too hot inside! A truly nostalgic location!

Yelp
My wife and I used to make it a point to stop at Elmer's whenever we were in the area and it was always a wonderful experience. When our kids were younger we would stay at Rancho Las Palmas resort and always eat breakfast at Elmer's and we all loved it. A year ago my wife passed away after over 28 years of marriage at the young age of 52. I went to PS this past Mon-Wed to stay at my sister's timeshare and to just get away and clear my head and of course I stopped at Elmer's for breakfast on Tuesday morning. It was bittersweet to return. The food and service were great as always but without Angela it just wasn't the same. She always ordered the German Pancakes which she loved so much....but as great as an establishment can be, I have to now believe that your experience is also due to the company you are with AND the place itself. I will of course return next time I come out but I wanted to write this review to thank all of you for the great memories of my wife now associated with Elmer's,

Yelp
We came to Palm Springs for a quick getaway with our loved ones, and they insisted we visit Elmer's, and now I know why. First of all, let's talk about the coffee mugs. These are true diner mug royalty. I brought two home because I couldn't resist the weight, the warmth, and the nostalgia. But the real star? The breakfast. Cinnamon Roll French Toast that tastes like a hug, savory Potato Pancakes with bacon and cheddar woven right in, strawberry crepes that were almost too pretty to eat, and silver dollar chocolate chip pancakes for my little one (who was in breakfast heaven). We're big believers in family-style sharing, so I got to try bites of everything, and every single dish was delicious. Classic comfort food done so right. I'm already looking forward to trying lunch or dinner next time we're in town. Elmer's is now a forever favorite.

Yelp
We didn't have to wait Saturday lunch time. They have a lot of tables. The food takes a little bit to come out. It has a diner feel inside, almost like a Denny's. - German Pancake 1.4/5 Thick pancake, sweet, lots of fruit. I wouldn't get this again. - Classic Eggs Benedict 4.2/5 The hollandaise sauce, ham, and biscuit was amazing. Sadly BOTH my poached eggs were overcooked (yolk solid). Hash browns are shaved thick and it had a good crust texture, but was just OK. If you order this, make sure to tell your server you like your yolks runny!! Free parking in lot

Yelp
This is my boyfriends fav place so we always have to go when we're in town. We went for the two days we were in town for breakfast. My bf got the cinnamon toast pancakes and I got the Belgian waffle for the first time around. We were seated outside and it was hot. Still a enjoyable time. The service here is always amazing. We never have to ask for refills because they always bring them to us. The second morning we came and I got the potato pancakes with bacon. My bf got the same cinnamon toast pancakes he got the previous day. The potato pancakes reminded me of an omelet but made with potatoes instead of eggs. Overall it was such a great meal and it's always an amazing time.

Yelp
Visited 5/13/2025 Wow I finally got to try out Elmer's in Palm Springs. https://eatatelmers.com/ With some of the best Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinners in the Desert and a massive menu there is something amazing for everyone. I've wanted to try a bowl of The World Famous Irv's Clam Chowder for a long time. Super Famous in Seattle as some of the best Soups and Chowders in the world it's a must try. This is the exclusive server of this Seafood Chowder in All of California. I didn't have high expectations but after the first bite I can't stop thinking about going to Palm Springs just to get another bowl only it will be a Full Large Bowl next time. I also tried the Shrimp, Fish and Chips. The Shrimp were good but not amazing but The Cod Fish Fillets we're very good. I will order the Fish and Chips again one day soon with the Chowder. Had to sample The House Special Prime Rib served every day 4pm till closing. Came with a perfect Baked Potato and Cup of Chowder and The Best Fresh Green Beans I've ever tasted. As for the Prime Rib it was very flavorful but not close to tender as my Favorite from Filippi's Scripps Ranch. No comparison whatsoever. Filippi's Scripps Ranch here in San Diego Can't Be Beat. I really must give Elmer's a try for Breakfast one of these days soon as they are Famous in The Palm Springs Area for Amazing German Pancakes and All thing's Breakfast. I Highly Recommend It.

Yelp
I was told by one of my patients that Elmer's is a "fancier Denny's" and I would say, that that's pretty accurate. With this said, this was honestly one of the best American diner brunch restaurants I've ever been to. The potato pancakes were so flavorful and German pancake was cooked to perfection. 10/10 recommending ordering both. The wait for the food was a little long, but to be honest, the food was worth the wait. There's a decent sized parking lot by the restaurant and a good amount of seating but come early for brunch because it gets packed quickly!

Yelp
Elmer's is a great place to grab a bite any time of day, but their specialty seems to be breakfast. We arrived around 10:30am on a Thursday morning and the parking lot was near full. The restaurant and patio were mostly full, but we only had to wait a few minutes to be seated at a table. The dining room was lively without being obnoxiously loud. The menu is huge, literally and figuratively. It measures what seems like two feet tall and a foot wide and contains a lot of pictures and descriptions of each menu item. It has three pages of breakfast items, and two pages of lunch and dinner items. Prices are slightly on the high side but not outrageous. Most breakfast items are right around $20 each. I ordered the German pancake and it is the biggest one I have ever had anywhere. This is probably one of their most popular items as they are constantly coming out of the kitchen and going to different tables. It was absolutely delicious. I had bacon and scrambled eggs as the sides and I was stuffed afterwards. My girlfriend had the French toast with the same sides and enjoyed it. As busy as the restaurant was, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Our server Julia was very friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Solid place for breakfast/brunch as evidenced by the wait times and plentiful reviews. Great classics like omelettes and benedicts. They also offer baby dutch pancakes, hash browns with "the works" and stuffed hash browns - offerings that aren't as common at other brunch spots. Service was fine. There is an automatic 18% service charge for parties of 6. Brunch seems increasingly more expensive these days, and has been for a while now, but more so I guess with the rising costs of eggs. Still, I always pause when an omelette plate is ~$20 lol. Overall, still a good place for brunch.

Yelp
This place always has a full house, and it's big! The staff is fast and we usually have a drink order in within minutes. This place feels like a family diner. Big booths, many tables, outdoor space. Considering all the people, it's never felt too loud. There will be kids, gay folk, after church crowd, and tourists. Best part, everyone enjoys. Everyone is nice to each other and it's easy to chat folks up waiting for a table. The food! Very diner like, with a bigger menu and special things like the Benedict options, Belgium Waffle, and stuff like that. So good, and very expedient. Food comes out pretty quick and tasty. This is an easy 5-star spot. It's just fun to eat here.

Such an iconic must visit place! Incredibly friendly and delicious food! Love the history here it's very special. We were not disappointed by this stop

Yelp
After a weekend of countless restaurants, and breakfast adventures, Elmer's was easily our favorite. Fast and friendly service accompanied by delicious and well portioned food options have added this restaurant to our must return list. Bonus points for several water dishes for the patio puppies.

Yelp
We've been going to Elmer's for decades but this morning's experience stands out. We had a great server (male) in the back, great service, he listened to what we wanted and what we didn't need, and the sausage was unbelievably flavorful and perfectly cooked. We'll be back.

Yelp
When looking for breakfast or brunch on the Palm Springs area, Elmers is a must! We decided to bookmark Elmer's when we were planning a short trip to Palm Springs. There were a ton of great reviews and it did not disappoint! This restaurant has a retro charm that's hard to come by nowadays. They have their own parking lot, but it was still super crowded on a Saturday morning. We were still able to find street parking easily. We were expecting to wait a long, long time but we were seated quickly! Our waitress was super sweet and the menu was filled with classic diner selections and some fun one too! My husband wanted to try their famous German Pancake and I ordered the Eggs Benedict. We also ordered a bowl of Corn Chowder for funsies. The German Pancake was HUGE!!! Topped with a generous sprinkling of powdered sugar and served with lemon slices, it was an eggy delight! Thin, crispy on the edges, and with the lemon juice was an unexpected delight. Not too sweet and cooked perfectly! The Benedict was made with huge, delicious pieces of Canadian bacon that you don't come by very often. And the potatoes were oddly good. The chowder was heavy on the bacon flavor- not the best but not bad. But the vibe here was priceless! All walks of life dining together in a bustling Palm Springs institution- would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

Yelp
This review is more like a 3.5, but that's not an option on Yelp. Elmer's is known for a classic, well-prepared breakfast in Palm Springs. I read so much about it, so wanted to give it a try. I had the pancakes, scrambled eggs, and chicken sausage. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious, but the scrambled eggs did not have much flavor (I wish I had ordered my eggs fried instead). The chicken sausage was fantastic and a nice, flavorful alternative to the usual breakfast meats. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I understand why folks recommend Elmer's.

Yelp
A cute diner in the Palm Springs area! I recently learned this is a chain diner, but the only one in Southern CA, so is it local? Not sure, but it good classic diner food and makes top lists of Brunch/Breakfast locations in Palm Springs. I've been here twice, definitely very popular for brunch and you can expect a little bit of a wait. For dinner, not as popular, no wait time! The inside is well air conditioned and they do have a patio area with fans if you are into the desert air. Food: I've gotten the Crispy Cobb Salad both times I went, it really is a solid classic cobb. The German pancake is also incredible if you love a sweet, good to share with the table. Overall, a great diner in the heart of Palm Springs. Good large parking lot and free wifi!

Yelp
So I was in Palm Springs just for one day and night. And I was craving a homemade breakfast on my last day. Unfortunately, none of the breakfast restaurants that I was looking at were open until nine or 10 o'clock. So in my search, I found Elmer's. And it was rated 4 1/2 stars which is what I typically look for when I check yelp. So I drove on over. I was greeted by a very sweet lady very friendly who seated me. And immediately I had someone come over to get my drink order. And my waitress appeared right after and gave me a few minutes to look over the menu. She was very friendly! I ordered the Denver omelette with hashbrowns and a biscuit. Very excited for the biscuit! The pictures on yelp look delicious. And I was not disappointed! That breakfast was one of the best breakfast that I've had maybe ever. The omelette was cooked perfectly. Every omelette you get in a restaurant is overcooked and dry. The eggs are like leather! This was creamy and fluffy and cooked perfectly! My first bite I was shocked! It's the way I make them at home. The biscuit was delicious! But the hashbrowns! I have no idea what they do to those hashbrowns, but they were the best hashbrowns I've ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant if you're ever in Palm Springs. It's an older building and it's been around for a while. It's locally owned! And the food was just delicious and the service was top-notch! Everybody was friendly and nice and made my experience very pleasant! Can't wait to go back to Palm Springs, maybe when it's not 113°, and go back to Elmer's for breakfast maybe even go back for lunch!

Yelp
The "Rat Pack" lives on ................. at Elmer's. The building is a throwback architecture of simpler times (check out my outside photos, lots of patio space) and the interior wall pictures highlights all the old time favorite personalities - in black & white, of course. We were there on a holiday morning - there was plenty of seating and the service was fast. Our server listened well and was proactive. They certainly have breakfast options - see my menu pics. We had to try the featured menu pic: German Pancake, with blueberries. It didn't disappoint. When you checkout my pic of our breakfast, you can see it is very similar to the menu pic (warning: we told the server we'd be splitting the breakfast and to bring us an extra plate. The cooks did the splitting for us - so you're seeing only 1/2 of the pancake being served, my wife had the corresponding half.) The German Pancake tastes like a big, airy crepe, with the sides about 4 times as thick but still light. I liked the sweetened blueberries and sauce, while my wife liked the accompanying maple syrup. There was plenty. The bacon, 3 pieces in all, was thick cut and mostly meat. It had a bit of smoke and a bunch of heartiness. The over-medium eggs were cooked to order. This was a good breakfast treat.

Yelp
At first the service was terrible I talked to the manager Juan Carlos to swap out servers and I got this wonderful server Alfredo. I took a picture of him so you could ask him when you come here. He made my total experience very pleasant. FYI, if you order the German pancakes, they take 15 to 20 minutes to cook. I asked for the German pancake cake, combo, and pancake takes about 15 to 20 minutes to cook. I will definitely return when in Palm Springs again !

Yelp
Went to Elmer's the day after Coachella week 2, kind of a mistake it was very busy but other than finding parking we had almost no wait. The hostess and Checke our server were great. Service was a little slow but they were packed. The restaurant was clean and a typical breakfast place. The food was great. I had a ham and cheese omelette with hash browns and a biscuit. My wife had potato pancakes and scrambled egg with bacon. We'll be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Came for the mimosas, and the food was great too! I had read that the mimosas were endless (or at least endless champagne+ paid orange juice), but that was not an option, only a carafe full at a time, and that was enough for me. I got the stuffed hash browns and thought it wouldn't be a lot of food, but was pleasantly surprised. Setting was a friendly family diner with fast service, definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Yelp
Stopped for dinner while passing through Palm Springs on a Thursday night. It was not busy and we got a table right away, but there were a decent number of people. I noticed a lot of German pancakes on the way through, but the breakfast bowl caught my eye and I went for that. We had two dinners and two breakfasts at our table, everything was fresh and delicious. The food was a little slow coming out, but the staff was friendly. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, but could use an update.

Yelp
I can see why Elmer's has been around for so many years. It seems like favorite for locals and visitors like us. Cute diner type vibe. Service was good too. The half BLTA sandwich and cup of clam chowder soup was good. The huge German pancake with blueberry compote and bananas was tasty. Will come back next time we're in town.

Yelp
Elmer's was listed in a local publication as having 'the best breakfast' in the area. We were quickly seated at our choice of a booth or table, and our drink orders were taken. They have an extensive menu that took a few minutes to peruse their selections. There is light music playing in the background. We both decided on the Crabacado Omelet. It is a huge 3-egg omelet filled with Dungeness crab, smokehouse bacon, fresh avocado, Swiss cheese, topped with tomato, classic Hollandaise sauce and fresh-snipped chives. We usually order the Hollandaise sauce on the side as the eggs can be either too sparsely topped or completely laden with the heavy sauce. The Crabacado was well constructed and well-filled with ingredients that melded together perfectly. No skimping here. Cutting down on carbs, I choose the fruit as my side instead of hashbrown potatoes. I got to taste Elmer's hashbrowns, and the flavor was the best I've had. They are slivered cuts of potatoes instead of a pressed formation almost every other restaurant serves. The hashbrowns were crispy and delicious. The toast and flaky biscuit were fresh and hot.

Yelp
For a group of 7 we didn't have to wait that long to sit on a Saturday morning. The menus are HUGE which brings back the nostalgia. Enjoyed the eggs Benedict and there was nothing bad to say about it.

Yelp
We ordered waffle, pancake, cheeseburger. Pancake is super big, and very soft. I have never seen this type of pancakes. I like it. My friends like it too and she wanna visit next time again :) fruits (side order) were also fresh.

Yelp
Perfect rare prime rib with heavenly crisp onion rings. Outstanding! Mashed potatoes were the real deal and green beans were crisp tender,

Yelp
First time trying German pancakes. They were delicious and definitely worth it. Service was fantastic and the place is always busy with people every year we visit Palm Springs .

Yelp
This place lived up to the hype( mostly). We ordered a chicken fried steak breakfast and potato cakes. The chicken fried steak was good and it was not heavy and greasy. The biscuit that came with the meal was AMAZING and so fresh. I don't eat this type of "diner" food often, but when I do I try and make it worth it. I didn't feel heavy and tired after eating here! The portions are just right to share or eat alone. My husband and I each tried each others food and he agreed mine was better. I got a peach mimosa that tasted like juice. The service was good and they even let us switch tables because we wanted more privacy in a booth, oppose to the close tables.
google avatar

Matthew H.

Yelp
Yelp steered me in the right direction once again. We were in the moody for good diner food. And, we discovered delicious food and wonderful service at Elmer's. We arrived early on Saturday morning and only had to wait a few minutes for a table. We ordered the German Pancake combo (with ham) and stuffed hash browns. The portions are generous here. When we left, the wait time appeared much longer.

Yelp
Love Elmers - the food, their coffee and that German pancake is like nothing else. Service staff is very friendly. The hearty portioned meals come out very quickly from the kitchen. Not sure how they do that! My only issue is the male host named Angel. He never cracks a smile and comes across as very aloof and unfriendly. It's too bad because he is the first person you encounter when you come to the front podium. He makes a bad first impression. That said, as regular local weekly customers, we will come back and try to get a smile out of him.

Yelp
Came here for brunch in between my son's basketball games. Everything about our visit was 5 stars. The German pancake, the biscuit, the potato pancakes were memorably delicious. Service was very good, extremely attentive, thoughtful and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and had lots of seating.

Yelp
French Dip made with prime rib is very good and only one in desert I know of better. Frys are just frys, not the best.

Yelp
We grew to love this place! Omg their German pancake is DELICIOUS!! We drive NEarly an hour away as often as we can because so far all we have tried is delicious; pancakes, bacon, coffee and our favorite- German Pancake! The service has been consistently good and a couple servers have recognized us a time or two. I always recommend to people for a good breakfast spot!

Yelp
the food is delicious! We only waited for about 25 minutes the Monday after Coachella weekend. I wish this place was closer to home because it was so good!!

The German pancake was good, as was the chicken sausage. I was not impressed by the pancakes or hash browns. I needed ketchup and had to stand up to go get it. We also tried to order an extra side of bacon but our server never came back to check on us. The food quality was good but the service was lacking, but friendly.

Yelp
The food is good and remains hot. The service is very sufficient, and it's decorative and clean, too.

Yelp
Our last stop of the trip, a great breakfast! Had good reviews and photos so we opted to give it a try. Immediately when you pull up there was a lot of cars ( good sign right) We were seated promptly and got a hearty vacation breakfast !!!

Yelp
Heard this was a spot to try and I'm glad we did. Came in on a Thursday morning around 10am and was seated right away. Our waitress Sherri was awesome. I ordered the German pancake, sausage patties with scrambled eggs. If you come here, the German pancake is a must. Spread the butter, squeeze the lemon over it and it was delicious, Thanks to Sherri! She wasn't lying when she said you don't need any syrup with it. If ever in Palm Springs, we'll be back again.

Yelp
FOOD: During our recent trip to Palm Springs, we had planned to try a different breakfast spot, but unfortunately, it was closed for a couple of days. We decided to give Elmer's a try instead. We ordered the famous German pancake, a popular item on their menu. While decent, it didn't quite meet the hype for me. It was airy on the edge; I was not too fond of much of the texture. Additionally, one of the German pancakes came out burned at the edge, which was quite disappointing. We also ordered the Hungry Ranch Breakfast, which consisted of bread, eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, and fruits; the taste was pretty standard and tasted much like what you find in any breakfast spot. SERVICE: The server was attentive and checked on us after bringing the food, which we appreciated. AMBIANCE: We opted to sit on the side patios because we have our dogs with us. There is also an average-sized patio at the front. The patio would have been nice, but since we visited in the summer, it was too hot to enjoy it fully but hurray for being dog-friendly!

Yelp
First timers, and it was a great experience. German pancakes, out of this world. There are huge, so unless you are Michael Phelps, is perfect for sharing. Definitely will comeback and ask for Sherrie, our server.

Yelp
It's my 2nd time here. I wanted to see if my opinion of this breakfast location has gotten better or worse. And it was the same! Well, let's begin with where we were seated. We were seated next to the server's entry / exit from kitchen area. As soon as the two of us guys sat down, we realized that the seat we were seated in was extremely small and tight. As I looked around I couldn't help but wonder why weren't seated somewhere more accommodating for our size (we are average 140 to 190 lbs guys). Several other seats were available, why next to the servers entry / exit way. The noise was ridiculous between the loud employee talking, laughing and standing around to plates and silverware being dumped in something, which was causing loud crashing sounds. It was just toooo much so we asked to move. The employee didn't seem happy, appearing upset as to infer "How dare you?" Anyhow, the food was very good, and the presentation was very nice. Although our Server (I can't remember his nick name on his name tag), on the receipt it says "Ezequiel" was anything but courteous, or welcoming. He was very to the point, without saying probably no more than three words.... "Are you ready?" I even said "Thank You" for his service, as he ignored it and walked away. If you're going for the food and don't mind the employee attitudes and lack of professionalism, this is a great place to eat. Forgot to mention we also saw employees at the front just hanging out talking and even exchanging $$$ with each other. And a woman dressed as possibly their manager hanging out in a spot chatting with two other employees. Laughing and giggling.

Yelp
Good food, good service, annoying when you have people sitting next to you with yelling kids but that wasn't their fault. Good portions, just your regular old diner, a better version of ihop or Denny's.

Yelp
Just the perfect diner experience. Food, service and ambiance are just everything I love about being in a diner. We tried the bacon and sausage stuffed hash potatoes, crab omelette and pancakes. Did I tell you about the biscuits? So good. They have you plenty of food with each order but the biscuits were so good that we ordered more biscuits. We will definitely make it part of our routine when we return to PS.

Yelp
Elmer's is my top breakfast spot of all time! While I've only tried breakfast here, I always make it a point to visit whenever I'm in Palm Springs, and I recommend it to anyone who comes to the area. There can be a wait on weekends, but it's well worth it. The hashbrowns are a must, and the cinnamon roll pancakes are divine! Service is fast and friendly. I just wish this place had more locations--I've seriously considered driving all the way from San Diego just for breakfast here!
