"This fancy perfume brand from NYC just opened an LA location with a cafe attached, where you can sip on coffee and tea while shopping for your signature scent. The rooftop seating looks like a peaceful spot to admire palm trees and get a little fresh air in between fragrance testing, and the drink menu is themed around the four elements, which means this is the closest to bending we’ll ever get. We recently visited Elorea. Read our thoughts." - cathy park
"For a Koreatown starved for public rooftops, a new Korean perfumery and cafe occupies the vaguely medieval-looking Chapman Tower and offers an unusual rooftop escape. Head up the winding stars (or the much less-confusing elevator) and emerge in a Spanish-style atrium where perfume samples are laid out on rounded counters and a small cafe resides in the corner; grab an Americano or one of the more inventive scent-inspired drinks, and head right out the door to the rooftop that has a handful of couches and tables. The piece situates the spot amid Koreatown’s dearth of accessible rooftops — noting only Apartment 503 and private luxury high-rise pools as comparators — and highlights the blend of perfume retail and cafe programming that culminates in a relaxed rooftop hang. — Rebecca Roland, editor, Eater Southern California/Southwest" - Eater Staff
"At Elorea, the best thing you’ll taste is the air. Perched on the third floor of gothic-looking Chapman Plaza in Koreatown, this high-end perfume boutique comes with an ultra-aesthetic cafe attached. The interior looks more art installation than store, with monochrome furniture and a dramatic winding staircase that exists purely for decoration. It also smells incredible inside, which makes it fun to test perfumes and lotions. And if you buy a bottle (they aren’t cheap), they’ll throw in a free drink from the cafe—some arrive swirled with smoke, others are topped with foam and flower petals. We wouldn’t head to Elorea for the drinks alone, but if you need a last-minute gift for your aunt who always smells like sandalwood, while also sipping something pretty, soaking in rooftop views, and people-watching Stüssy-wearing influencers, you can do it all in one place. photo credit: Cathy Park" - Cathy Park
"A Seoul-style "perfume cafe" that opened in Los Angeles in early 2025, bringing a distinct Seoul-inspired cafe concept to the city." - Matthew Kang
"A stylish Koreatown rooftop cafe opened in January from a New York–based Korean perfumery and cafe founded by Korean American couple Su min Park and Wonny Lee. The operation blends the perfumery experience with a curated drink menu inspired by the four elements of heaven, earth, water, and fire, a motif carried through into the beverages." - Mona Holmes
