The Hottest New Bars in New York City, February 2025

"This wine bar from the team behind Le Dive is a hit for its people-watching at a storied address, once home to the Great Jones Cafe. For this venture, Golden Age Hospitality teamed up with Mister Paradise’s group to create a space that feels of the moment and that of a well-worn European wine bar." - Emma Orlow, Melissa McCart

The NYC Bar Hit List: Great New Bars In NYC

"The holy trinity at this wine bar on Great Jones Street consists of wine, aioli, and the occasional sidewalk cigarette. From the team behind Le Dive, Elvis is a little less Dimes Square parochial and a little more NoHo sophisticated. Come with a friend to complain for a few hours over a bottle of wine and an artichoke with fancy mustardy mayo. The best seat in the house is the stool in the big front window. Just make sure to ask your server for the story behind the name Elvis." - bryan kim, will hartman, willa moore, neha talreja, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah

NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"The space that housed Great Jones Cafe in Noho for 35 years (and briefly became Jolene) is now a Parisian-style wine bar from the francophile hospitality group that brought you Le Dive and Deux Chats. The place pays homage to the original tenant with a psychedelic orange interior, featuring a 17-foot rack of sparkling glasses. The wine is natural, and the plates, featuring things like anchovies or tuna Nićoise, will be small." - will hartman

Elvis Review - NOHO - New York - The Infatuation

"From the team behind downtown darling Le Dive comes Elvis, a wine bar in a storied NoHo building that used to house Great Jones Cafe. Yes, a bust of Elvis is apparently hiding somewhere around here, but you don’t get to see it inside the bar for legal reasons. Instead, come to drink wine on a stool in front of the big window that looks out onto the cobblestone street. If Le Dive is for sitting outside and gossiping loud enough that people can hear you, Elvis is for telling someone a dirty secret without anyone hearing you at all. When you get peckish, order the artichoke with a mustardy aioli, and the sandwich with peanut butter, bacon, banana, and honey. We promise it's good. photo credit: Liz Clayman" - Willa Moore

NYC's Most Exciting Fall Openings

"Opening: September The space that housed Great Jones Cafe in Noho for 35 years (and briefly became Jolene) is now turning into Elvis. A Parisian-style wine bar from the francophile hospitality group that brought you Le Dive and Deux Chats, the place will pay homage to the original tenant with a psychedelic orange interior, featuring a 17-foot rack of sparkling glasses. As is custom nowadays, the wine will be natural, and the plates will be small. When it’s warm out, a sidewalk cafe will provide some people watching." - bryan kim

Cute new wine bar in the NoHo area with a decent selection of interesting wines although it was sad that some bottles had run out pretty early in the evening. The grilled cheese here is surprisingly the star of the menu for me although the octopus and mushroom terrine also are very good complements to the drinks. Seating is cosy and can get a bit cramped.

We visited Elvis last week before heading to Alexander Molotchnikov’s performance of Seagull: True Story, and, to be honest, left quite puzzled about the bar. How can they charge $20 for a small baguette with filling? It’s beyond comprehension! And a Spritz cocktail for $18—two-thirds of the glass is just ice, and they dare to ask that much? In the end, the bill for two with tips came to $100, and we didn’t even feel full. I don’t get where the world is headed with these outrageous prices. For $70, I’d rather go to Fogo de Chão, get an all-you-can-eat meat deal, and stuff myself happily than put up with this kids’ playground of bread and girly cocktails. The atmosphere at Elvis is nice, but for that price, you expect way more. Not recommended if you don’t want to overpay for air. That said, I absolutely recommend Seagull: True Story to everyone—the performance was incredible and totally worth it!

Cozy chic spot that serves drinks, bites, and vibes. Elvis hits the sweet spot with ambiance and its layout is perfect for the full spectrum (intimate dates, girl’s nights, group gatherings, come for it all)! Staff is kind and clientele is fun — a much-needed addition to the neighbourhood!

Google
A great spot with quick bites and a comprehensive wine list. Came with some friends after seeing a movie on Sunday and the waiter was quite drunk, and a bit rude to our group. But the overall vibe was great!

The vibes are good, the spot is quite busy. Food is just okay, but the melon spritz was fun.

I went on opening day and LOVED it. The vibe is amazing, the staff is wonderful and the food is great. I had wine and a cocktail - both excellent and I also ordered blue cheese and bread, anchovies, and the foie gras (which I ended up taking home because I was full). This will become a regular spot for me. At the moment no reservations just walk-in but I'm sure accommodations will be made for regulars. Wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

Last night we went to Elvis and it did not disappoint! We were most interested in the all natural wine offering, but were quickly intrigued by the thoughtful French menu of small plates. We started with two white wines, then switched to red to taste the variety. We enjoyed both, although we were hopeful they’d have a bit more “funk” that other natural wines have. For small plates, we ordered the mushroom and truffle terrine and the tartare de boeuf with olives, tomatoes, chili, served with a fresh baguette. Their menu is the true winner here! I should also mention the hostess working last night was as friendly and patient as can be, despite a line of hopeful patrons. Big shout out to her! We waited in line for about 15 minutes to put our name down on the list, then came back after 30 minutes to see if anything had opened up and it was sheer coincidence a party of 2 had just left. We really enjoyed our time at Elvis and look forward to returning again soon. Our advice to anyone going is to be prepared for a bit of a line, swing by a local bar while you wait and practice patience! It’s worth it!

We visited this lovely wine bar yesterday and were pleasantly surprised by its cozy, atmospheric vibe with a charming French flair. The menu mainly consists of simple small plates, but everything we tried was flavorful and well-balanced. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which had crisp apple notes that added a refreshing touch — a perfect pairing for the food. My friend and I stopped by before heading to the theater, and it turned out to be a great choice. We’ll definitely be coming back. The only downside was that the service was a bit slow, likely due to the number of guests that evening. Also, personally, I felt the prices could be slightly lower — trimming about \$3–4 off each dish would make it feel more reasonable. Still, the overall experience was lovely and worth a visit.

Yelp
The ambiance in this place is off the charts! It's a small, cute bar on great jones st. with some seating outside and intimate indoor seating as well. While I was waiting for my friends to arrive, I saw numerous people, from what it seemed like, on first dates so I'd definitely recommend for meeting up with friends or date night. They just opened about a month ago which is why there aren't very many reviews yet, but I think this place will become a hotspot very quickly. A glass of wine is gonna cost you around $16-19 dollars but I think it's worth it for the vibe. We got a bottle of the Grenache and it was so good. It had a tart, cherry flavor to it which was so good. Service was also great so I can't complain. All in all, this place is a hidden gem that I would love to come back to for dinner since I didn't try any of their food. Can't help falling in love with Elvis!

Yelp
Classy wine bar on our way to dinner. Loved the name although has nothing to do with the king himself! Super cute, quaint and cozy inside. They also have a covered patio with heat . Loved the mood lighting inside. Nice variety of wines and a few snacks. Also a few classic cocktails. Great place to meet people or sit at the bar. I had a nice but potent vesper and my friend had a nice Cabernet franc. Service was good just wish they had some better app type things to eat. Did love the vibe though. Nice and chill.

Yelp
Elvis is a small, scene-y wine bar that has great bites and good wine (you never know when a place is scene-y..!). Service is so-so but you can't win 'em all

Yelp
Such a cute and vibey wine bar spot. The atmosphere is perfect for a drink with friends or a date. The wine list is limited but what they offer is good. We ended up ordering food as well, hummus, artichoke and the escargot, which were all very good and flavorful. Will definitely be returning.

Yelp
I wish I could give more than five stars. Starting with the atmosphere...it's quintessential NY cozy chic with a Parisian flair. So inviting! Moving on to the food...we had some amazing vegetarian options. The mushroom truffle terrine was delightful, the gigantes bean salad blew my mind, and the cheese board was perfection that paired well with the crisp and refreshing orange wine. Lastly, the service made the night. We were greeted with kindness, never felt rushed and the place was just full of happy people. What more can you ask for?

Yelp
I love Elvis! The vibes are great and their bartender Michael is amazing! The food is bomb, I highly recommend the steak tar tar.
