Emmy Squared — West Midtown - Review - West Midtown - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"While the Westside has its share of pizza hotspots, Emmy Squared stands out for its chewy, pizza “thiccness” with crispy edges on perfect right angles and not-so-square topping options like smoked gouda, Impossible meatballs, and Nashville hot chicken. While it may not be our favorite pizza place in the city, we like having Emmy’s on rotation when we just want to be somewhere kinda chill to eat good pizza and fries—as opposed to pizza tavern chaotic or swarmed with someone else's kids The New York-born Emmy Squared Pizza gained national popularity for a reason. Known for their Detroit-style pizzas and their burgers, the chain has two locations in Atlanta at West Midtown and Glenwood Park. The West Midtown space was once Octane Coffee shop, which was a go-to haunt for hours upon hours of free cafe wifi. Now, college students and families on pizza night outings join worker bees who just want to wind down with cocktails and everyone’s childhood trifecta of favorites—pizza, burger, and fries. You’ll have the option of takeout and delivery, but the dine-in option offers a come-as-you-are chill space with indoor, outdoor, and lowkey swanky bar seating where you can load up on wine and all the cheesy carb comforts you can handle. There’s a reason Emmy is famous for its Le Big Matt Burger; it’s quite the handful and does all the right things in the taste department with double patties and melty cheese on a big pretzel bun. Order some of their seasoned, expertly crisped waffle fries to sop up any of the mayonnaise-based Sammy sauce that drips out of the burger. Don’t skip the crispy edges and buttery crust of the signature squared pizza. When you want something different, try the Hot Chicken, which comes with a few drizzles of their tangy white bbq sauce to pair with the heat of the hot sauce-flavored fried chicken and pickles. Pickles on a pizza, by the way, is another “don’t knock it til you try it” palate adventure. Important PSA… [PSA]: For those of you who are still denying square pizza a second chance at redemption, it’s time to forgive the sins of the school lunch rooms that served barely edible bricks of dough sparsely sprinkled with suspect cheese. It’s time to try again. Things are better now.  [End PSA with scene of smiling kids]." - Nina Reeder

Arrived with a small group on a Saturday at 11:30a for lunch. We were immediately seated. The service was great from beginning to end. It was so nice to have the big open window for fresh air and the view outside. The burger and pizzas were delicious! The waffle fries were also cooked perfectly. Highly recommend!

Google
EVERYTHING was delicious! The Caesar salad was fresh and full of flavor and some of the BEST gluten free pizza I have EVER had! Husband enjoyed the chicken parm sandwich and fries. Will definitely be ordering again soon! So delicious it deserves an “Emmy” 🏆 (see what I did there!? lol)

Google
We love Emmy squared pizza’s Big Hawaiian, when we’re looking for a pizza treat we go for this. The flavor is so great. The cheesy pesto breadsticks are even better! It always seems empty so the ambiance is a little off but other than that the food is great and service is always very good.

Google
I’ve been going to Emmy squared for a while now and we love their pizza. This time we tried to get the lemon pepper and they were the most horrible wings I’ve ever tasted. They looked raw and unseasoned. They weren’t breaded at all. They barely had seasoning. They were so bad I had to add my own seasoning so the photo you see is AFTER I added my own seasoning. Just imagine what they looked like before. Gross. I probably won’t be going back because they’re overpriced and the quality seems to be decreasing every time.

Google
I went to Emmy Squared today for my child’s lunch and I was so shocked at the burned chicken tenders I paid for. I called them back and ask to get another order; the said they will look the same because their grease was dirty. I thought who would tell a customer such a thing, I was so disgusted. The photos are posted. I chose the mozzarella sticks instead in which they said they were not fried in the same grease. Yuck!

Emmy squared has so much potential to be one of the best pizza places in atlanta however, the lack of love and attention to detail definitely affected my experience. We ate here with 4 including myself. We were basically the only people there. We immediately noticed that the water cups seemed dusty and one of the plates were not clean. I ordered the mozzarella sticks and they were not cooked well. They seemed hot until I bit into one and the cheese was cold inside. 🤢 i told the server and she removed it off the bill and was nice about it and apologized. We ordered wings and got half lemon pepper half pineapple chili glazed. Unfortunately they gave us something else instead of the pineapple chili glazed. We were kind of over it at that point. The wings had good flavor but I did not like the wings themselves. I can be picky with my chicken though. Just when we were ready to write this place off the pizza stole the show! We ordered the colony pizza and it was delicious! Pepperoni was crispy. Pizza was crunchy and the honey and pickled jalapeños paired perfectly. If I were to come here again it be for the pizza only.

Google
Good sandwiches, but not enough to come back alone for. I just tried their chicken pesto via delivery and unfortunately it is completely inedible. The bag arrived with the lid not being closed all the way so the pesto oil drowned out the other 2 orders. The amount of oil used for the small serving was 30% oil and the rest pasta shells, little cheese. Again, please avoid the chicken pesto. A reminder to just try pizza places pizza.

Google
This was the best pizza our group of 7 (ages 13-77) have ever had. The crust is amazing-crispy and not heavy at all. Service was great. Try the Hawaiian- just the right balance of flavors. The pepperoni is also a great choice-crispy edges. Highly recommend, and can’t wait to return when next in Atlanta

Yelp
I recently dined at Emmy Squared Pizza and was thoroughly impressed, even with only two servers managing the entire restaurant. Despite what could have been a chaotic situation, the service was impeccable, and the food was outstanding. We ordered the Miranda Pizza, chopped cheese fries, and wings--all of which were phenomenal. The Miranda Pizza was a perfect blend of flavors with its spicy, savory toppings on that signature crispy Detroit-style crust. The chopped cheese fries were a delightful surprise--packed with flavor and the ideal comfort food. The wings were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of crisp and sauce. The our server was attentive, friendly, and efficient, never letting the limited staff affect our experience. She made sure our drinks were always topped up, and our food arrived promptly, all while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere

Yelp
First time visiting this location, small parking lot in front of the building. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. I dined here during the week and there were not a lot of patrons. We ordered the chili glaze wings and the chopped cheeseburger. The food was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant

Yelp
From the greeting to the service to the pizza and drinks -- simply YES!! 10/10 will recommend!! They have a small private lot - arriving a little before 4 I was able to snag a spot. I walked in and loved the contemporary vibes of the decor. I opted to sit at the high top overlooking outdoors -- doubles as a great people watching spot & a space to get fresh air directly lol! I've been wanting to try Emmy Squared for years - I passed by locations often but would be on the way to an event I had about 45 mins to spare before my next gig and let me tell you -- nothing was getting in the way of me and E2 lol Due to the time crunch I only ordered a drink and pizza. Once Tommy, my waiter, mentioned the drink special - spicy margarita - I was sold. You had me at spicy. I enjoyed the refreshing drink and water while my deep dish pizza was being baked to perfection. I opted for the Colony Deep Dish pizza which had red sauce, ezzo pepperoni, pickled jalapeños, & honey. Take my word for it - top contender for sure and I love pizza of all varieties! The crust was fluffy yet had the perfect crunch and the toppings meshed together so well. I added red pepper flakes to mine cause I longed for a little heat and it did the trick. I will definitely be back very soon! Such a great experience. PS. They are now open for lunch daily!!!

Yelp
Ordered take out: pizza and a burger. Pizza is good, there was burnt cheese on the crust (yum) but not worth the money. It's too small for what they charge and honestly I can make a better pan pizza. $18 for a personal pizza, no meat. Nah. We got le big matt burger and it was just okay. It was soggy by the time we got it home and it was ready before the pizza so it was probably already soggy when they gave it to us. There was nothing amazing about the way it tasted. It was kinda just greasy meat and bread. Fries are an extra $7 so when asked if we "want fries with that" we quickly declined. (I wonder how many people think it's included) I'm sure it's a nice spot to happen on while out with friends. The decor is nice. Given our to-go order for two of $37 wasn't enough for dinner, I doubt I'll be returning. If they don't want to reduce prices, they should increase portions or add a small side or something. This is too expensive for pizza

Yelp
Daddy daughter week first dining experience was Emmy. We did not get eat pizza but we did get wings and a chopped cheese burger. The chopped burger was one of the best I have has. The setting is in a hub of activity. The seating can be inside the restaurant, outside or inside at a bar with an open window where you can enjoy the view of the outside while sitting inside. The help was helpful with all questions and very courteous .

Yelp
Wings, vegan pizza, clean restrooms, and good service Full time vegans, cover your eyes. I got you on the vegan pizza. There wings are worth it. I could do without the tip, but it was proof it was from a chicken. Those wings were HUGE!!! They bake them first then fry to order. They are phenomenal! And did I say there HUGE. Now, the vegan pizza. I was hesitant because of the large garlic bulbs. But it was so creamy and flavorful. It gave the wings a run for its money. Service was nice and laid back decor. I'll be back.

Yelp
This was a last minute find. Because of that, decided to order online and pickup in 30 minutes. The Hawaiian regular and gluten free pizza. The gluten free was so good! I tried a sample to test the regular and gluten free, and the only noticeable difference was the regular was a bit more crispy and brown with more rise in the crust. The GF was so good, so if you're needing GF this is a great place to indulge in your favorite pizza.

Yelp
Ordered two pizzas, a salad and a water to be delivered by Uber to a hotel. Arrived with no water, no utensils for the salad, no napkins and the pizza was so salty it was inedible. I have never had a pizza with large chunks of flake salt on it. It was inedible.

Emily P.

Yelp
Great food! Very good and mini Detroit pizza, burger was good too. Good vibes inside but super slow service. Came on a Friday night with maybe 3 other tables and waited long to be seated, served, and basic things like 10 minutes for a sauce, or the check.

Yelp
It was my first time here at this establishment an I was very impressed....my waitress Julicka was very awesome and she had great customer service...I ordered the big Hawaiian an it was very delicious and also ordered a drink...the music was great as well as I was able to watch some college football as well which makes for a great vibe....

Yelp
One of my fave pizza joints in the city. I love Detroit style pizza and the big Hawaiian is my fave! It's SO good every ingredient and the price is fair for the quality. Dine in or takeout you'll have a great experience either way. Small parking lot but lots of other street parking. Love this spot tons.

Yelp
We had a simple but lovely meal at Emmy Squared. We were a party of 3 so we shared a Caeser Salad, a Big Ang pizza and a Margarita pizza. All were tasty, though we thought the Big Ang could use more flavor as the cheese took over. Still good though! Our server was nice and the interior of the restaurant was clean and stylish. A good place to get some great pizza!

Yelp
The place is rlly cute and clean. We got a parking spot in the front. It wasn't super busy when we went on a Sunday. The pizza was great! Everything was fresh. We would come back again but this time we would tell them to put light ricotta bc it is very overpowering. The fries were really good too but the queso on it was too much and had this weird gritty rustic taste to it that we didn't love. It was too rich that we couldn't eat the whole thing. The cheesy garlic sticks were delicious bc of the flavor but it was a little too wet for my liking.. this meal was good but it made me feel like my arteries were getting clogged by how rich and fatty everything was. We might be picky eaters but we would still come back here which says a lot. Our server was really sweet but he kind of disappeared on us after we got our food. I'm not sure where he went because we were the only ones in there at the time.

Yelp
5 stars for service and food. We went on a (recent as of posting time) lovely, warm Monday night and Rayvan was the only hostess, server, bartender, cashier and online order distributed...she was holding it down with ease (pay her more!). One of the best gluten free pizzas in town, a lil thick, crispy and delicious. We got the pepperoni and Calabrian peppers pie and even enjoyed leftovers the next day. The music was fun loud enough without being overbearing and set a nice mood. Now, mgmt.: why only one employee on a busy Monday night in a prime location? 2 stars for you. Rayvan is awesome and I want you to know she's incredible.

Yelp
Overpriced, nasty food with perfect service and amazing atmosphere (kind of) I would suggest you go here full and slightly drunk. You don't wanna pay their fees for the salty nasty burnt pizza. I honestly think the chicken in my Caesar salad was rotten taste like lemons, no limes,. Each cocktail is $14-$18 with the amount of alcohol that should actually only be charged seven to $10. There were two Caucasian women talking as loud as loud can be, I was surprised because generally our people are the ones that are doing that but, they had the right idea ; they bought two drinks and talked for three hours. I think everybody in the restaurant now knows who the two women are dating. If it wasn't for the excellent service I would have left. It's rare I would ever spend $108 on just myself correction 130 with tip.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Emmy's for a while as I LOVE Detroit-style pizza. I came here on a Wednesday night for dinner with some girlfriends. I was so glad that Emmy Squared has a parking lot, however, it is really tiny so be prepared to find street or deck parking nearby! I was lucky and after circling back once, was able to find parking in the lot, however, I imagine it's busier on a weekend. The space inside is super spacious and so well decorated (seriously loved the vibes!!). We were seated and our waiter was super attentive, giving us recommendations and checking in on us throughout the night. We ordered drinks including the Mare of Easttown (Aperol drink) as well as a tequila-based cocktail, the Roland Schitt. The drinks were all delicious and STRONG! We also ordered mozzarella sticks for appetizers and they were so cheesy!! We ordered a couple pizzas to share (each pizza can feed about 2 people). We got the Big Al and the Angel. I thought both were super good (do wish the pizza was thicker and a little more fluffy, but still yummy regardless). The Angel especially, I love mushrooms and this pizza has SO MUCH mushroom flavor! Overall, really cute spot, great drinks and food and would definitely visit again!

Yelp
This place is so cute! The parking we had to pay for and realized they had a parking lot out front but very limited space- that kind is the area though no much parking on that street. We walked in and DID NOT get greeted by the host I told her we had a reservation and she gave me a dirty look and didn't say anything. Clearly should've said the name it was under immediately... she then sat us and started to vacuum the whole place?! It was so loud who does that during business hours? She had sunflower jeans on and I wish I got her name because she was so rude! We wanted to order drinks but the three ones I asked about for cocktails the waitress said they didn't even have ingredients for! 2 of which were on their valentine sign for new cocktails and there were only 3 on that menu. May as well take it down since you can't order them. The food was amazing! That is the reason for a decent review. The cheesy garlic sticks were the best thing ever. If you like cheese and pesto you have to get these! The pizza was also soooo cheesy and the sesame crust is a different taste but great. We want to come back and try others. If you like anchovies then get the salad, unfortunately it was too strong of an anchovies taste as the dressing. I felt like I had an after taste from it and couldn't get rid of it. I would come back just for the food but the service needs some assistance

Yelp
The best cheesy garlic bread ever! I could eat it everyday. Located in west midtown, Emmys squared is the perfect place to go and grab a bite to eat. The parking lot is in front of the restaurant and its small but there is plenty of street parking. When I come here I usually sit at the bar but there is plenty of seating. I believe you can even sit outside. They serve more than just pizza here but you can't miss with the variety of pizzas to choose from. Bartenders/servers are really nice and respectful. Strongly recommend

Yelp
Came for dinner. Ordered a ceaser salad which was good for 2 people. Actually pretty good and came with anchovies. Shared a Detroit style pizza with grilled chicken. Came out hot and cheesy. Pizza had 6 slices so enough to share. Service was decent and decent ambiance.
google avatar

Fadi A.

Yelp
Pizza is good. Restaurant seems nice to sit at for dinner but didn't have the nicest vibe during the day. I was give them a 3.5 but I'll offer the 4 because it's nice to see more pizza joints opening in the west side.
google avatar

Yelp
Emmy squared is SOO GOOD maybe even my new favorite pizza spot in Atlanta!!! They have unique combos and some great toppings. Parking isn't the best since the lot is small and fits about 10 cars, but there's plenty of garages, lots, and street parking in the area. The inside is super chic and pretty and the wait staff was so friendly. We started with the cheesy garlic sticks and then had the MVP plus honey. The pesto with the garlic sticks gave it a nice flavor, and the bread was cooked so well! The MVP was amazing especially with the added on honey (never getting pizzas without honey anymore lol)!! Unfortunately we could only eat a slice each since we got full with the garlic sticks, but the pizza was still good after reheating in the oven the next day. Overall Emmy squared is a must go to in Atlanta for a good Detroit styled pizza!

Yelp
Really great pizza! I had Emmy Squared Pizza back in Brooklyn years ago and I always remembered how much I enjoyed it despite not being a huge fan of deep dish type pizza. I was happy to see a location in Atlanta, and loved the pizza just the same! The service was ok, just ok... the server/waitress was holding sidebar convos with a coworker simultaneously to serving us, so that wasn't a great experience. But I'll def be back for the pizza!
google avatar

Cody T.

Yelp
Service - very personable and fun! Food- could be more flavorful. Quality Ambiance- very cute. Clean. It was a hot summer day and the large windows are open! We love it staying cool while having that outside ambiance! Lots of room to move and breathe! Very clean and cool inside. Service was excellent. We are served by Tavarus. He was very personable and made our experience special! It was his birthday too! And he still gave US the gift of a good time! Ok. Food was a bit of a let down tho. They were out of several items. I really wanted to try the truffle mushroom pizza. But no worries- I'm coming back for other items I saw! Like the Brussel sprout salad! I will update! We had the VIP and the chicken parm sandwich. Both were eh ‍ so so.
google avatar

Micheal J.

Yelp
God was delicious and filling. Prices were not outrageous. I'd say fair, but definitely not cheap. I'm familiar with Detroit style pizza, and I think they nail it very well. The drink options are attractive and fairly priced as well, with some interest cocktail combinations. Service was pleasant, congenial, and attentive. Well designed venue, great atmosphere for a date or a family meal. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Emmy Squared was recommended to me by another foodie. I had no idea this place even existed. I am so glad I was introduced to this place! This place is a whole vibe. The layout and aesthetics of this restaurant are amazing and the music was on point when we went. It was a nice Sunday evening with beautiful Atlanta weather. While we wanted to sit outside we were so captivated by the ambience inside along with the music we just had to sit inside! Our server who was also the bartender was great and he definitely made the drinks nice and strong! We ordered the Roland Schitt and Mare of Easttown. They were so good and strong as mentioned before. For our pizza we did a build your own and I believe we had classic red sauce with bacon, fried chicken, and basil on it. It was so delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed and definitely need to make our way back because I've seen some other foodies post some must haves when going there!

Alyssa L.

Yelp
My favorite pizza spot! The service is great and the food is even better. And the restaurant is so cute! love the inside, patio and roof top

Yelp
The food here was fantastic. We had a group of 5 and order some cheesy garlic sticks, Caesar salad, and spinach and asparagus salad as apps. For pizzas, we ordered the Good Paulie, Angel, and the Big Al. Like I said the food was delicious and came out timey and hot. A couple of things, we had a group of 5, and she sat us at a table of 4 and we had to ask for an additional chair. (yes, we had to ask, it was not automatically brought or set up). They weren't very busy and could have sat us at a bigger table. We had ordered wine and they brought the small decanter of wine and no wine glasses and we once again had to ask for wine glasses, then we were told they didn't have wine glasses, and if we wanted water glasses instead. We need something to drink this out of. I guess moral of the story, stick to the food or order to go.

Yelp
Tia at the bar is the best. I was skeptical about the mezcal espresso martini, because I don't like mezcal, but it was awesome and tasty. We had great customer service with Tia. Highly recommend bar seating! Great experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant, almost no parking. Service was a little show but the sangria and pizza I tried made up for it. At humble pie down the street you get a little more bang for your buck . But the type of pizza is different. Doughy and squared. I'll be back again definitely. If I can find somewhere to park my car.

Yelp
I went with a group of 3 at 7:00 pm on Monday, 8/15/22. It was not crowded at all. There is a small parking lot right outside. Ask a waiter for the promo code because parking is free with it! We got 3 pizzas and a burger. It was way too much food, but we wanted leftovers for lunch the next day. We each had the equivalent of half a pizza and a third of the burger, and then we had half of a pizza to take home. Here's what we got: - Angel ($21): The description said truffleist mushroom cream, so I was expecting a lot of flavor. I didn't taste truffle at all. This was actually pretty disappointing. - Impossible Ang ($21): I liked the Impossible meatballs. The ricotta was good too. - Margherita ($22): Good, but not as much flavor as I wanted. - Emily Burger ($19): Very good. Lots of flavor. We didn't get fries because fries are an extra $7!! The crust was amazing, but the pizzas were kind of a letdown. I was expecting more flavor. It's also pretty expensive. I'm glad I tried it once though!
google avatar

Nisha B.

Yelp
I've been to this location twice and I order the same thing each time. I order the spinach salad and the Margherita pizza. The food can be a little heavy, as it is Detroit style pizza which means very thick crust. I will say it is very filling, but I would have appreciated a little more variety on the menu. Overall, I really like the vibe of this place and that's what makes me want to come back. Also the staff is very friendly! Parking can be very tricky, as it is a very small parking lot. If you can't find parking in the parking lot you'll have to find street parking which will most likely require you to pay.

Yelp
My daughter fell in love with Emmy Squared when she lived in New York. She was excited to share this place with us here in Atlanta. We fell in love too! First, I loved that we could use Open Table to make a reservation. The restaurant has a great vibe with friendly staff. There were several seating options - regular tables, high tops, bar, and outdoor. You can order and pay through your phone, but we were able to order with a "live" server since we were just ahead of things getting busy. We ordered the waffle fries as an appetizer - very tasty and fresh. We ordered two pizzas to share for the four of us - the Margherita and the Impossible Ang. Both were delicious! Emmy Squared is a restaurant I highly recommend you try!

Yelp
Visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was empty to my surprise. The location has limited parking in the front, but it was full so I was surprised to see it empty inside. It's a nice space inside and I absolutely loved the music selection. The service was pretty good, but overall I found the place to be quite overpriced. The loaded fries were delicious and the colony pizza was good, but not amazing. They say the pizza feeds 2, but I wouldn't bank on that. I was looking forward to trying the frozen pomegranate margarita, but the machine wasn't in repair or something. Tried the Miss You Betty, which was tasty. I personally probably won't be back, but it's worth a try.
google avatar

Rae J.

Yelp
Love Emmy's! I discovered it on Uber eats and then came in person for a birthday. There's many options including gluten free and vegan, it's a bit pricey but big servings! Good music, a paid parking lot and easy to get a reservation. Rayvan was a very attentive server
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
Under the guise of a trendy Detroit-style pizzeria, Emmy Squared delivered an offensive take on square pizza and a gross experience. I went on a Friday night with my friend and was shocked at how empty the place was -- we certainly didn't need a reservation. The service all seemed new/inexperienced/confused, but they were friendly. The menus were stained/dirty which was gross, and the men's bathroom was very dirty too -- the portable toilets at a construction site are probably cleaner. The pizza was undercooked/doughy... we were 'Emmy Scared' that we'd get sick from it. The pizza had a scant amount of toppings; it's definitely overpriced. The cheesy garlic bread is the only reason I'm giving this 2 place stars -- that was very good! I would NOT recommend Emmy Squared.

Yelp
Everything was amazing! The service that Tavarus offered was nothing but stellar. This was a great date night spot for my husband and I. He made us a great drink that was also too cute! The VIP pizza he suggested was so good that I nearly finished the entire pizza myself. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I lived in Nashville for a few years and wanted to try the Emmy Squared location there, but never made it. We decided to have dinner at the Midtown location to celebrate my brother's birthday, and we all loved it! It is in a great location on Howell Mill, in a really pretty building. The inside has an industrial, chill vibe. It is very open, and the windows are garage doors that open up to the outside. We ordered two pizzas and loved them both. The vodka pizza was amazing and simple. The Emmy pizza was my husband's favorite: it has banana peppers, red onions, ranch, etc. The dough is really tasty and has such a nice crispy crunch on the edges. I ordered a margarita and it was great. Their beer list is good, too. I think I just found my new favorite pizza place!

Yelp
Delicious Detroit-style pizzas! We were a group of three that shared the Big Mozz Sticks and two pizzas (Big Al & Angel). We thought we'd be able to finish four slices each but we each wound up with a slice left to take home instead. These slices are thick with crisped cheese along crispy crust (so good!). Thankfully our waitress warned us to not get the Cheesy Garlic Sticks as an app because they're even more filling. + I also got the Mare of Easttown cocktail. It was light, fruity, and in an even bigger glass than the waters! The only thing is the amount of parking spaces in front of the restaurant really pales in comparison to the number of seats inside. We went on a Thursday night, and it wasn't super busy, but one of us had to drive around for a little before a spot opened up. Carpooling is recommended, or be prepared to find a parallel spot/parking deck nearby!

Yelp
Emmy Squared Pizza was definitely a win for me. Being a fellow New Yorker, and knowing this originated there, I was even more intrigued to try this place out...and I was NOT disappointed. I wish I could remember our server's name but she was so sweet and so helpful and patient with our table. Our drinks were made really well. The garlic cheese sticks tasted as good as they sounded. Last but not least the pizza....oh the pizza it was phenomenal. I will let the pictures speak for itself....

Yelp
Came to Emmy Squared last minute as we were craving some pizza and off another Yelpers recommendation. Emmy Squared has a super small parking lot out front with maybe 8 spots, so you'll probably need to look elsewhere. On a Saturday night, we checked two parking lots/decks and were unable to find any parking. We ended up finding some off a back street and paying a few bucks. I made a super quick reservation on the way there as there were still some available times so once we got there we waited a few mins while the table was being set up. If you had a larger group, a reservation on the weekends would be a must for sure. Drink specials looked good, but I was really just wanting food. We ordered the Cheesy Garlic Sticks ($11) and the Big Al ($25) to split between my boyfriend and I. Cheesy Garlic Sticks were to DIE for. As a bread, cheese, and garlic girlie, this was giving. I would come back for these alone. Price is kinda steep for what they are, but I'd do it again. Big Al wasn't it. The way the toppings on this pizza were dispersed left you with so many bites that has nothing. Nearly an inch on all sides of the pizza had nothing so it was really just crust. The flavor wasn't there at all and tasted like nothing. My hopes were high and it was a massive let down. Compared to Nina and Rafi's, this doesn't compare at all and I'd venture there instead. Service was pretty average. Nothing amazing, but they could have been better about getting us a new water canister as ours was empty before we even received the check. The Cheesy Garlic Sticks were the redeeming factor for me, but I don't see Emmy's in my future anytime soon.

Yelp
A nice space with patio dining. It wasn't very crowded when we dined in and the service was prompt and friendly. We started with a Caesar salad. It was an interesting presentation, four hearts of Romaine, chop it yourself. It was fresh and the dressing very good. The pizza was sort of Detroit style, square thick crust with red sauce on top. Ingredients were first rate with fresh burrata and basil. One pie was sufficient for two with the salad, if a little pricy. Overall recommend.

Yelp
Nothing I despise more than walking into an establishment and employees are talking and don't even acknowledge, greet, or make eye contact with the guests. Even a "one moment, we'll be right with you..." is better than ignoring someone's presence. I waited for a good 60 seconds before I just walked away and the servers/host/manager.... Whoever was at the front desk.. didn't care to follow up or ask what I needed, as they watched me walk away. If you've ever been to this restaurant, you know you can't miss someone walking in. I used to love this location, however 2 bad experiences of poor service will keep me from coming back for sure. Bad service will always be a deal breaker for me.

Yelp
When you think about squares pizza, this is what it's about. Very light, crispy edges and delicious. Only downside is the price. Pretty pricey for 4-6 squares pieces but the taste is really good.

Yelp
We visited Emmy Squared while in town visiting friends. I had never been and had never heard of it, but Detroit style pizza is my favorite kind!! This place is super cute! We sat inside, but it was a nice day so the garage door next to us was open. Our server was super nice and incredibly helpful. She made some awesome suggestions! We ended up ordering the Cheesy Garlic Sticks as an app. They were delicious and the spicy timorato sauce served with them was so good! My friend and I decided to just split a pepperoni pizza. So tasty! The Detroit style crust was super fluffy but crispy on the outside. Perfection! Looks like we have one in Nashville, so I will be trying that location too!

Yelp
The food-amazing. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. I got the Emmy, their Detroit style pizza with pepperoni, hot honey and jalapeños. Absolutely incredible. Also had the cheesy bread and brownie and ice cream. We left full and satisfied! The service-phenomenal. We were greeted immediately and had the nicest waitress. Very attentive and had great suggestions. The ambience-pleasant. Chill locations, nice vibe. We sat on the bar area that has an incredible view. Couldn't recommend this location more!

Yelp
This pizza is unbelievable! I wish I remembered what kind I got but I would definitely recommend anything on the menu. also get the cheesy bread if you can, it's amazing! They have a great wine list and fun cocktails. Very moody and dark-lit place but great for dinner!

Yelp
I love square deep dish pizza! I am from Detroit, so we have that a dime a dozen there. Finding it in Atlanta was a little harder than what I was used to (finding quality square deep dish, that is). This was a great move though! Pizza came out hot and steaming, the crunch on the crust was great, the sauce had mad flavor, and the toppings were wonderful. I have been back a few times since, and I have not been disappointed, at all. I was happy they got a second location too! I can say that I would for sure make this a regulars pizza event for me.

Yelp
There were a lot of issues when we came to Emmy Squared pizza tonight. First, we were told it full and there were no walk-ins, so we walked away but then the manager pulled us back in and said that wasn't true. We sat and waited for around 80 minutes before our two pizzas came out. When they did, they were very good, but not totally worth the wait. When we brought this up with the manager, Adam, he happily listened and compensated us for our ticket, as well as offering us a gift card to come back. The experience was 1 star, but the manager's response was 5 stars. We will definitely be giving Emmy another chance.
