Hip spot for house-brewed cider & beer with creative New American comfort foods & growlers to go.
"Old Irving Park spot offering cheese curds, brisket, sliders, and chili for the Super Bowl." - Ashok Selvam
"Eris, a brewery and cidery, has a full menu inside spacious quarters. They’re offering an expanded happy hour until 4 p.m. with $5 ciders or drafts, and half-off appetizers." - Lisa Shames, Ashok Selvam
"Eris is in a remodeled Masonic temple in Old Irving Park, and it’s kept some of the old details, like exposed brick and an ominous-looking safe in the entryway. It’s a huge space that can easily fit large groups, but also isn’t bad for a date. There’s a wide variety of ciders available, plus a few beers. And the food offerings include vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free dishes—so while you can get a BBQ brisket sandwich, you can also get a crispy cauliflower wrap. Not every place in Chicago could easily accommodate a mixer for vegans and BBQ lovers, so consider this a crowd-pleasing utility spot." - josh barnett, adrian kane, john ringor
"While this brewery doesn’t (as of now) have any gluten-free beers or ciders, the food is a different story. There are tons of wheat-free menu items available, like fried pickles, shrimp and grits, steak frites, and gluten-free cookies. It’s an excellent place for large groups, and it also caters to other dietary restrictions (e.g. dairy-free). Just drink before coming here and you’ll be fine." - adrian kane, veda kilaru, john ringor
"Unlike most Chicago breweries, Eris serves a lot of vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free dishes (all clearly marked). So while your roommate can get a Polish sausage wrapped in bacon to go with her beer, you can get a big salad, crispy tofu with vegan slaw, or meat-free breakfast burrito. Don’t forget to get some beer, too." - adrian kane
