"The Ernest Tubb Record Shop, with its vast array of bluegrass and classic country music, also hosts a live WSM-AM radio show each Saturday night after the Grand Ole Opry. It airs from the Texas Troubadour Theatre in Music Valley and was established in 1947. "

Cool place to visit if you’re down on Broadway. This is basically a honky tonk bar with a small record shop nestled on the second floor. All of the used records were $5. None of them were pristine, so I thought that was fair. I took home several that had some cover wear but were in very playable condition. There’s not a huge selection but it’s worth a look.

Best honky tonk bar on Broadway - hands down! Bringing Broadway back its roots.

Excellent honky tonk music up front and blue grass in the back!

Great collection of country cds, vinyl, books and movies. Loved getting to walk around and see all the decor and memorabilia from those who had performed at the midnight jamboree. A must see when in Nashville and for any true fan of country music.

So much history and great selection. Packed with music, and great prices. My only complaint is that Tshirts are for skinny people only. Nothing in a 3X or 4X. Other than that, it's perfect! 😄😄

I was there over this past weekend on a very busy Saturday night. The man working the store had so much knowledge and answered all of our questions! Walked in the store many time but this time having see the Loretta Lynn stage area and the man telling us all the history was the best visit by far. Thanks again will definitely be back!

We decided to go inside the record shop and we were so glad we did. There is so much history and information inside including an incredible record/CD collection and memorabilia! In the opening days this record shop only sold through mail orders. They apparently still get a lot of orders from music lovers of that generation! We enquired about the stage at the back of the store and Jude was a wealth of information! We were so glad he was available to chat with us! This is where the Midnight Jamboree was broadcast from every Saturday night after the Grand Ole Opry. This was a way for up and covers to perform their acts during the “dead radio hour” and gain exposure. The Midnight Jamboree is still on to this day and is the “second largest radio show in history”. The Midnight Jamboree just recently relocated back to this location after 26 years at the Texas Troubadour Theater!! We stood on the stage where so many musicians have stood before us - fortunately for the staff we did not try to sing as it may be the first time anyone would have been boo’d off the stage! Imagine standing where the likes of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, Patsy Kline and many many many many more! Well worth the stop and make sure to talk to the staff! Enquirer about show dates!

This was the ONE place I had to hit in Nashville. Absolutely wasn't let down. Staff was very friendly and lots to see. You can feel the history back on that stage.
