"The ice cream company, established in 1945, has many locations countrywide. For its first opening in Georgia, Handel’s is set to open on November 14 at Midtown Promenade. The ribbon-cutting will happen at 10 a.m. with the first 100 guests offered free ice cream for a year. The shop will also have a Tiny Doors ATL installation. "Hip energy meets historical preservation at Establishment, a place bursting with Georgia pride. Everything here is made with reclaimed oak, pine, and cherrywood salvaged and gathered across the state’s 15 counties, and the knicknacks on display are antique iron and artifacts that date back as far as 1845. The space features masculine, pioneer-esque furniture, old chandeliers, and patio-style floors laid out in herringbone style, but that doesn’t mean the place isn’t fresh. A patio with a large fire pit, big bar, wine room, and menu full of modern comforts brings things back up to date. Order lemongrass and ginger hummus, deviled eggs with both truffle oil and fried pickles, pretzel bullets with cinnamon brown sugar and creme anglaise, a selection of sliders, and a smoked onion soup to slide into summer 2024 … aided, obviously, with a Bombay Sapphire Sparkling Lemon." - Su-Jit Lin
"A name like The Establishment seems like some type of criminal organization from a John Wick movie—or a very stuffy British boarding school. But this Colony Square bar and restaurant is actually the type of establishment that serves fun cocktails like their refreshing Shirley and the Temple of Doom, which is served with a lollipop garnish. Rustic decor and chandeliers make it easy to mistake this place for a bougie hunting lodge. But outside, their spacious patio provides a scene-y spot to grab drinks and watch the parade of cars on Peachtree and 14th. And the food is solid, so we'd add this stop to our Friday night cocktail crawl when we’re ready for a small bite.
