Etch - Review - Franklin - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Etch, aNashvillefine dining staple, made its way south to Franklin and carved out a spot in the industrial-cool maze of The Factory. It brought all of its greatest hits with it, too—the roasted cauliflower, the intricate sauces, the chef’s bar looking into the open kitchen. In fact, we’ve found that the Franklin location is just plain better than Nashville’s when it comes to the quality of food coming out of the kitchen. That bodes well for a high-reward date night or a parents-in-town dinner made up of a delightfully flaky confit duck tart, pan-seared scallops in Thai lemongrass curry, and a crispy potato salad tossed with mustard dressing and chimichurri sauces. There’s a little something for everyone on the menu at Etch, making it a solid catch-all special occasion joint." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Nashville’s Most Anticipated Restaurant Openings, Spring 2024 | Eater Nashville

"Deb Paquette is bringing her long-time, globally inspired restaurant to Franklin with a new outpost at the Factory staffed by chef de cuisine Jess Lambert, executive pastry chef Megan Williams, and manager Dino Cocco to execute the downtown restaurant’s seasonal menu and warm-hospitality approach; two menu staples making the move are the roasted cauliflower and the octopus and shrimp bruschetta, and the new location is tentatively slated to open in May." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

This is BY FAR the best brunch in Franklin. The cauliflower & Brussel sprouts KNOCKED MY SOCKS OFF. My favorite entrée is the chimichurri steak!! I also Love the breakfast tacos & smoked salmon bowl. Presentation is 5 stars. The chef is clearly a MASTER of sauces. The cauliflower by itself? Pretty good. But then I swirled it in the sauce. FLAVOR EXPLOSION. I have never liked brussels sprouts, but my server insisted these were delicious. I gave them a whirl and I LOVED THEM. Whatever is in that white sauce is divine. I'm not a big drinker but I loved the pink cocktail. Don't remember the name. It Was DELICIOUS. The service was five stars! He was so attentive. I'll definitely be back. I'd love to try dinner at Etch! IG Lillypulitzerstylist

Google
We have heard good things about etch but it was our first visit. It was a normal date night turned into an amazing culinary experience. Our meal was creative, well seasoned and absolutely delicious. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Everything was truly exceptional. We will be back soon.

Google
Though a little pricey, we had a wonderful experience! The only things I didn't end up feeling was worth the price were the cocktails. Granted I know inflation blah blah blah but I'm just not a fan of spending $16 on a cocktail. The food was very good and, mostly, well balanced. The presentation was top-tier, as you can see. Overall 5 ⭐!

Google
I wasn't going to review this restaurant because I've reviewed the Nashville one a long time ago (for dinner) but then I decided to. First time here. It was not crowded at noon vs the other restaurants in the factory and I cannot figure out why. We came just after noon for Sunday brunch). Our meal was phenomenal. We ordered all 3 of the appetizers (the mushrooms...just get them). I had the Mediterranean salad with the wild caught salmon (and thank you for specifying that!). I think it might actually be the best salmon I've ever had. The champagne vinaigrette was amazing. I got it on the side so I could control how much went on. It was SO good! Best catfish our friend had ever had (he grew up with his grandfather owning a catfish farm). I mean, everything was just amazing. Highly recommend. And do not miss the coffee cake for dessert!

Google
We had an phenomenal experience tonight! We booked a reservation for our anniversary and every single team member we interacted with told us congratulations. The food was absolutely incredible and very generous portions. We loved the roasted cauliflower appetizer, Brussel sprouts side, and the Pavlova dessert. We will absolutely be back again!

Google
We tried Etch for our anniversary and the food was wonderful. We tried the duck pastry app; Hubby got the scallops, I got the wild caught salmon and fried Brussels sprouts. The service was great, the espresso martinis were strong, and they gave us a card and dessert. We had a very nice anniversary!

Google
This is truly the best of the best! If you are in Franklin or Brentwood, I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you are a foodie and also if you want a nice quiet, relaxing ambience that is upscale (you can come in and wear your golf clothes!!) where the sommelier picks the wine selection Great happy hour, phenomenal food that is healthy and tasty, and this is where you go if you want to meet native Franklin people!

Google
One of the finest dining experiences I’ve had in Franklin! From the moment I walked into etch, I felt welcomed by the warm, modern atmosphere and the professional yet friendly staff. The food was a masterpiece—each dish felt like it was plated with passion. The Wasabi Salmon was beautifully balanced with just the right kick. The Smoked Carpaccio melted in the mouth, and the Apple Sesame Tart surprised me with its complexity. For dessert, the Chocolate Mousse, Bread Pudding, and Pavlova were heavenly. Every course delivered a new highlight. Service was seamless—attentive without being overbearing, and very knowledgeable when it came to dietary needs. I really appreciated the clearly labeled vegetarian options and the flexibility for dietary restrictions. Parking is easy and convenient with free and valet options nearby, making it stress-free to plan your evening. Accessibility is well thought out and the space is wheelchair-friendly. Although it’s not themed for kids, it’s a calm and respectful space where older children would feel comfortable. This is more than just dinner—it’s a flavorful experience worth savoring. Highly recommend Etch for anyone looking for world-class food in a charming, approachable setting.

Yelp
If you've read the Yelp reviews for Franklin Etch, there's little new to add -- the food, service, and ambiance are all consistently outstanding. So instead, I'll focus on one standout dish that keeps me coming back: the Duck Tart. Made with confit duck, puff pastry, orange curd, coffee cherry butter, red licorice mole, and olive caramel, it's a masterclass in balance and flavor. If you try just one dish at Etch, make it the Duck Tart. It's unforgettable.

Yelp
Delicious food, good drinks, and great service. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I still like the Etch in Nashville better. Located at the Factory at Franklin there is ample parking and if you're willing to sit at the bar you can most likely get in without a reservation. I recommend the Filet medium rare, as medium was a little too cooked for me. The Etch salad was nice and the chocolate dessert was yummy. I would absolutely order a cappuccino instead of drip coffee as the regular coffee was very weak. Overall, solid classy night out!

Yelp
WOW! In town for the weekend and we found Etch on OpenTable with openings for our wedding anniversary dinner. We couldn't have picked a better spot. If you're looking for an intimate, deliciously curated dinner, this should be your pick! We ordered the Octopus and Shrimp bruschetta appetizer which was so yummy and tender. For entrees, I ordered the filet mignon and my husband ordered the venison. Both were perfectly cooked. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate mousse bar to share. In hindsight, we should've ordered two. It was that good! My favorite part of the restaurant is the open kitchen concept. You can see each of the kitchen staff working all night and can tell they are dedicated to making your dinner a great experience. I'll definitely visit again the next time I'm in Franklin!

Yelp
I'd been to the original etch in downtown Nashville and knew what to expect. And their new Factory location in Franklin is equally delicious! I'd say their dishes realistically have a four-star rating, but my official review is a very solid three stars for what you get for the price. And that's not an insult in the slightest. The bread service and charcuterie aren't bad, a good way to start any meal. The horseradish Caesar salad is pretty tasty but probably needs more flavor. And the filet mignon is a real star among the entrees. But the pavlova dessert might be the best thing on the menu. A pistachio-baked fruity meringue meets lemon curd, with accoutrements like freshly whipped cream with lavender and white chocolate, fresh blueberries, and candied pistachios! And it comes with blueberry elderflower sorbet. There aren't many side dishes, especially if you're not a fan of vegetable sides. But etch is always good, the service is impeccable, and it's worth going!

Yelp
A perfect Sunday brunch spot! My friend & I made reservations (same day, few hours before) and came and split the roasted cauliflower, amarillo cobb salad, and the breakfast tacos. Every dish was spectacular and elevated with some outstanding flavored sauces - I really appreciated how they lined the side of the salad bowl with the dressing, stunning presentation!! The aesthetic is very clean, modern, minimalist and we were fortunate to have a table near the booth/bench area which was cozy! The service was excellent - friendly, attentive throughout, and prompt! We were pleased with the value of fine dining experience we had at the moderate price we spent, happy to return and try more dishes soon or order each of these again because they were that fantastic!

Yelp
Fantastic food, drink, and service. Tucked away in the Factory, etch stands above most, if not all, of the other restaurant opportunities. It's nondescript entrance can be found at the end of an offshoot corridor, that branches off from the main thoroughfare of the Factory. There's not much signage to lead the way, so when you find it, you've struck gold. At etch, they work hard at providing an exceptional experience. If you find yourself seated in proximity to the kitchen, you're in for a show. The orchestrated ballet of chefs, servers, and suited gentlemen that look like casino pit bosses, are a sight to see. All working diligently to expedite their exquisite fare to your table. My girl ordered a salmon entree, while I just a bowl of soup. But, the soup was definitely not "just" a bowl of soup, it was a tasty bisque perfectly layered with complex flavors. I apologize for not remembering its name, but it had Korean kimchi in a perfectly blended stock, with cucumbers resting atop its steaming goodness. It was one of the best tasting, elegant bowls of soup that I have ever tasted. The salmon dish provided my girl an opportunity to experience the same taste sensation as I. Perfectly prepared and seasoned. The chef absolutely respected the catch, by presenting it beautifully. This was a wild caught filet, that was wildly amazing! The prices are commiserate with the food quality and the professional service. So you're going to pay up, but believe me, it's well worth it. Quick Tip: Just to give you an idea about how well you'll be served at etch, my girl requested a straw and the server promptly returned carrying a tray with a cloth napkin on it that cradled the requested straw. This is no greasy spoon restaurant folks. You won't get any sketch at etch.

Yelp
My wife took me here today for my Birthday and it did not disappoint. This place is awesome. The food is absolutely amazing. I ordered the Catfish with a side of fries. We asked for truffle oil to deep the fried in oil and ketchup. We turned our seasoned fries which were amazing in to truffle fries :-) The service was top notch. I was welcomed with a Birthday card signed by all the staff. Our waitress was super nice. Her customer service was great. The ambiance of this restaurant was very memorable. When you walk in you can smell the fresh food and hear the amazing music. Even though thr Catfish was good. I can't stop thinking about those fries.

Yelp
Our server John was phenomenal, and the food was equally delicious. This place is a gem, I shouldn't have waited so long to stop in. We made reservations for my husband's bday and the staff were awesome. We were greeted with complimentary champagne and a birthday card and the rest of the evening was a delight. We tried multiple things and they kindly split our entrees without even asking. The food was prepared with precision, for our entree we had the salmon special and the pork ribeye. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
We went to Etch out in Franklin for lunch & we're greatly impressed with the service & food for the cost! Etch has an upscale vibe and lots of light in the daytime. Our service was attentive but gave us space to enjoy the meal! We both enjoy our dishes and felt they had good flavor and were a great quantity of food. I would happily return here & feel lunch is quite a steal!

Yelp
Etch on Franklin in Nashville--what a meal! First off, let's talk about the fried potato salad. Y'all fry the potatoes, smash them, then fry them again? That's straight-up blasphemy... and I loved every bite. Crispy, creamy, ridiculous in the best way. I went with the mahi for my main, and it was spot-on and exactly what I wanted for dinner. The service? Hilarious. The staff had that perfect mix of being professional but also joking around just enough to make the experience feel fun and personal.

Bill B.

Yelp
There for a business dinner. Nice service. Duck pastry appetizer was the highlight.

Yelp
We had a fantastic dinner experience at Etch. In particular, our server Brooklyn took amazing care of us. She was helpful, friendly, informative, and entertaining. The food was very, very good. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and the horseradish whipped potatoes were delicious. The Frenched Chicken Breast was unique and flavorful. The Crispy Potato Salad was pretty amazing, and I think of it as a unique twist on a German potato salad. They also have gluten-free bread rolls, which were very good. Speaking of gluten-free, they are exceptionally helpful in this area. Many of the menu items don't have gluten to begin with, and pretty much everything can be modified to make it gluten-free. That might mean that with the burger, for example, you just exclude the bun, but the point is that the staff is very knowledgeable and can help ensure you can enjoy an excellent meal that meets your dietary restrictions. The location in The Factory is very convenient, and yet when you're in Etch you feel like you've been transported somewhere else. The interior feels elegant but not stuffy. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner at Etch, and will most certainly be back!

Yelp
Etch is one of my favorite restaurants! I usually get the same thing every time I go, but I love it so much! I usually get the double smash burger with fries and I ask for truffle oil to dip my fries in along with ketchup! Yum! Chef's kiss! I love the ambiance and the prices are reasonable in my opinion!

Yelp
We went here for a Friday lunch and the food was awesome!!! The service was very good and the staff were very friendly. This restaurant is a sister to ETC. restaurant in Green Hills. They are both ran by award winng head chef, Deb Paquette. The interior is Modern and classy. They have 2 private dining areas, umbrella covered outdoor tables and Chef's Bar seating which is seats that are placed right in front of the open kitchen for close viewing of the kitchen. They have a full bar with a large wine list. They serve brunch on the weekends, Lunch Tuesday- Friday, Dinner Tuesday- Friday and closed on Mondays. They offer Apps, Salads, Sandwiches, Entrees and Desserts. The food is Globally inspired and they use fresh housemade sauces and housemade desserts. If you like flavorful, innovative dishes you definitely need to put this place on your list.

Yelp
Almost as good one downtown. Tried this one 2x in January. It's the staff that needs a little fine-tuning...a little nicer but really check on us more. I felt we had to wait awhile to get our order, ask for something midway through, wait for check, etc.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh my goodness this is a new favorite date night spot for us! The service was amazing and our server was very knowledgeable and sold us on everything from drinks to desserts! I had the Beaten Path mocktail which was perfect for me being pregnant and my husband had the house Cabernet which he loved! I had the chicken dish and he had the steak and both were cooked to perfection with artisan style and great flavor. We had the ice cream sundae for dessert and I kid you not that was some of the best strawberry ice cream! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Angie L.

Yelp
We have visited Etch four times since they opened. First of all we are just thrilled with this coming to Franklin. The food is amazing. Cauliflower is my husband's favorite and I usually get the salmon. It is so tasty. Service has been top notch each time and the restaurant is small enough to feel cozy but large enough to bring a large group. We love it and recommend it to everyone. I do hope they add more variety to the menu as the seasons change, but this spot is a much needed addition to our city.
google avatar

Yelp
I was really excited to try Etch! The vibe of the restaurant was great! David our server was fabulous! He was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great suggestions from apps to the wine list! The food was very colorful and well flavored! I'd say the duck pastry was my favorite. It was packed full of flavors I'd never combined before. So much thought is put into their food! The filet was very well dressed. I do feel like it was a hair over cooked since I asked for rare and it looked the same as everyone else's. We had a range of rare to medium in our order. Lastly I feel like the dessert list could be better. While they had several options, our table ordered 4 different ones and agreed, they were subpar. Dessert is the reason Etch is getting 4 stars instead of 5! This is a great place to go for a dinner where you just want to try something you wouldn't anywhere else!
google avatar

Yelp
We had a Tuesday evening dinner reserved and were really looking forward to this. I can't say that it was the best service oriented dinner, but it wasn't the worst. Upon ordering our wine, the waitress brought the bottle out, and it was the wrong year. I brought it to her attention, and she wasn't the least bit concerned. I again said it's the wrong year and she said that's all we have! It went downhill from there. Not the same experience as in Nashville. Franklin Etch, step up your game.
google avatar

Jeff D.

Yelp
Etch is new to Franklin, so the restaurant lacked some character but the waitress was great! I started off with an Old Fashioned, the ice was crystal clear, good sign. And it was good. There are two types of restaurants for me, one great comfort food, and designer food. This is the second, it looks pretty. I had the Grilled Filet Mignon, the plate was very colorful with sauces, but didn't offer much taste. The filet was cooked perfect but I was expecting more flavor. My wife got the Frenched Chicken Breast, it was very good. A freind had the Salmon and it was good. The sides we got were the Crispy Potato Salad, ok that was amazing! A must have. Also got the Fried Brussels Sprouts, I will never ever review Brussel Sprouts... others said they were good. For dessert, Pear Ice cream, Chocolate Mousse Bar, Ice Cream Sundae. You might want to skip and find Dessert in the factory.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Smaller version of downtown, still with a personal focus on excellence. We gave up outr table for the bar. The bartender was engaging and service was good, but not great. The Duck Tart was unfortunately sold out at 6:10 pm. The Smoked Carpaccio was good, but a little stringy. The variety on the Charcuterie and Cheese, was very good, though some cheeses only had an individual piece, overall a lot of food. The atmosphere is bright and simple. There is a full bar and a diverse wine list.

Wan R.

Yelp
Food was so delicious, and our server was amazing (Chris). I have been wanting to come to Etch for years and was so excited when they opened up this restaurant in Franklin. Chris was so attentive and really walked through the menu with us, it was a great experience. I highly recommend to try the brussels sprouts and the filet mignon!
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this new restaurant. I went there for brunch and ordered a mimosa and quiche. The service was good and you can't mess up a mimosa, but the quiche was trash. The crust was so hard, I thought I was going to chip a tooth. The bottom crust was so tough that I had to examine it to make sure it wasn't baked hard confection paper. I tried sawing through it with my knife, and I could not cut through it leathery crust. I assume they microwaved the quiche over and over. If I want good quiche, I'll just go to Puffy Muffin. I should've said something, but I just paid my bill and left knowing that I'll never be back. They should take the chef who made this quiche and rubbed their nose in it because it's shit.

Yelp
We've been looking for a new favorite upscale dining experience in Franklin and I'm happy to say we've found our spot. Restaurant was intimate and noise level was very manageable. Our waitress did an excellent job of describing the specials and menu favorites. The food flavors and profiles were outstanding! Most importantly, their attention to detail was superb tonight as we celebrated our anniversary and they added special touches such as a signed card, anniversary toast and a chocolate anniversary topper on our dessert. Thanks for a great dining experience! We'll be back

Lysander R.

Yelp
Had a wonderful late Mother's Day dinner here at one of my favorite Tennessee restaurants of all time, at their new location nonetheless. Food was spectacular as always, always recommend for first timers the cauliflower and their bruschetta is to die for. Entrees were phenomenal with my venison being my favorite bit, my mother also enjoyed everything put in front of us. We ended on the roasted pineapple tart which is by far one of my favorite desserts ever. Ambience was lovely, service was great with Brooklyn being an excellent server who was attentive and cognizant of my mother's allergies, definitely ask for her on your next trip. Best new restaurant in all of Franklin, better than their downtown location!

Kayla C.

Yelp
Rude and unprofessional service and management. disappointing after a previous amazing experience.
google avatar

Ken L.

Yelp
Waitress was awesome! Drinks terrific. I ordered the vegetarian dish (I'm not a vegetarian). It was amazing! My wife had the chicken and loved it. Great vibe.
google avatar

Rich P.

Yelp
Little do people know, the entirety of Franklin is pretty much closed on Sunday. We had such an amazing brunch experience here! The food was to die for!! I had the Salmon and Potato bowl. So many wonderful flavors! We sat at the bar and Richard was amazing. Beyond elevated service and dining experience!!! Check it out!

Phil D.

Yelp
Great food, great service, surprisingly generous portions. Loved it! Great place for a weekend lunch or brunch.

Joy Belinda B.

Yelp
OMG. The menu has so many 5-star choices it is hard to pick just one entree. We had the venison, the pork rib-eye, and both the crispy potato salad and the butternut squash sides. Everything was to die for. Each of the entrees were full of taste; the pork and venison were like butter. Our favorite restaurant now - not just in Franklin but in the whole region.
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
We had high hopes. Most of the food was good, but significantly overpriced. The service was mediocre. The ambiance was good. I know that it's tough running restaurants and the kitchen staff seemed to be working hard. The overpriced food heightens the expectations to a level that can not be supported, making there no reason to come back. Thus I fear that the cooks and management labor in vain.
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
I loved etch. I order a filet nearly every meal that I have in Franklin. Etch had by FAR the best filet I have had it multiple years. You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Logan A.

Yelp
A Beautiful space, delicious food, great presentation, and a kind staff. What a wonderful addition to the Franklin restaurant scene.

Mary W.

Yelp
2nd Visit was fabulous! Had a rough first visit a month or so ago but gave etch a second try last night and so glad we did. Our server, David, was top notch from the start! He was very personable, attentive and took time to explain different menu items that we asked about. We started with the duck tart on his recommendation. It was delicious. We each had the filet and shared the potato salad and brussels sprouts. It was all perfect! We ended with the pineapple tart and the blueberry pavlova. The tart was good but the pavlova was divine!

Sarah J.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible customer service....management did not stand behind their employees and FOOD was just average. 100% overrated Do NOT support this restaurant!!

Sioux P.

Yelp
Four of us attended the Etch x Nelson's Green Brier Bourbon Dinner Pairing in Franklin last night. It was held in the private dining room and overall, a great experience. However, all four of us experienced a cold main dish which took a 5-star experience down by a star. On the way out we shared our opinion to the manager and shared that it would be a perfect experience if the main had been even warm instead of cold. The manager basically blew us off, which is why we removed another star. You expect courtesy and warm food for $170/person!
google avatar

Roger M.

Yelp
I returned to etch today, a grateful guest of the manager. The Calamari Shrimp Bruschetta was excellent. If you haven't yet, the mid-day menu is worth trying. It's a beautiful restaurant.
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
Fantastic experience! Great food, and amazing service from David. Great unique dishes.

Dan J.

Yelp
Amazing experience. Great food and beautiful presentation. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Anna Claire B.

Yelp
I was looking for somewhere quiet to eat and read and this was perfect! Wonderful food, great service, and had the ambience of like a hotel lobby in the absolute best way hahaha, very spacious and calm and well-lit which is what I prefer in a night out!

Josh H.

Yelp
A really caring and thoughtful staff. Treated us really well. Brussel sprouts were delicious. Patio is quiet and good atmosphere. Thank you!

Brent B.

Yelp
Great food and service on a busy Mother's Day, nice wait staff and high quality. Nice to have more options in Franklin.

Donna Lee C.

Yelp
The food is delicious and our waitress was professional and well trained. A little issue with over cooked chicken, but it was promptly resolved. My husband had the filet and a side of the crunchy potato salad. Cooked perfectly and flavorful. The spicy chocolate ice cream had a subtle kick to it and was a nice finish to the meal. The restaurant decor is nice and the bar is trendy. This is a great addition to The Factory and I highly recommend it.

J M.

Yelp
We arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately. We started with delicious cocktails and the cauliflower appetizer which I can't recommend enough! For main courses we had the filet and scallop dishes. The scallop dish in particular was a beautiful presentation. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Dessert was a shared apple sesame tart - so unique and very good! Service was amazing and we felt the hospitality was a step above!

jennifer b.

Yelp
We have been looking forward to this opening for a long time as we love the downtown Nashville location and live a couple blocks from the factory. As soon as we walked in I was disappointed with the decor. It looked low budget and gave hotel lobby restaurant vibes. We had a party of 6 and were led through the restaurant and to a back room where it felt like a conference room. The chairs, tablecloth, lighting...it was just off. Not warm and didn't feel upscale at all. The food was subpar. Not even close to comparing to the Nashville location. We did have a really sweet server though so that was helpful. Maybe they have improved since we were there in late November but we haven't wanted return. This place has so much potential but left us disappointed.

Michael B.

Yelp
The food was a good as the original Etch by the Symphony. The Duck Tart was perfect.

Susan M.

Yelp
Fantastic experience! Great food! I had the filet and it was tender as well as cooked to perfection. Excellent addition to The Factory in Franklin

Tiffaney W.

Yelp
I was so excited to try a new restaurant in Franklin. We went for lunch on my husband's birthday and got the wasabi salmon and the beef tenderloin. I have no idea how you mess up two common entrees, but both were royally disappointing. My salmon came out raw, so they took it back without an apology and burnt the wasabi on top which tasted disgusting. The beef tenderloin had a bunch of salad piled on top with a ton of sauce on the plate but somehow still lacked flavor. Our server had no personality and wasn't friendly for the cherry on top. Sadly wouldn't recommend for lunch, but maybe their dinner menu is better.

Marco V.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Only thing I did not like was my salad. Service was great and the ambiance awesome.
