"This East Village coctelería is a dimly-lit, flower and vine-decorated spot that works great for a solo drink seated in one of their tufted burgundy banquettes, or someplace to end up doing tequila shots with the neighboring table. Mexican Chef Xila Caudillo preps dishes like a marinated tomato tostada, tamale with jackfruit, and a mushroom avocado mango “ceviche” (the whole menu is gluten-free too). It’s also a great option for cocktails, with their drinks being made by the team behind nearby Amor y Amargo. Make sure to grab a drink or three, like the "Yellow Pineapple" or "Oaxaca Old Fashioned." - marisel salazar

"Calling a tequila event “Two Weeks Notice” is a bit of a dangerous game, so vegan tapas spot Etérea should probably take everyone’s phones in order to prevent them sending their bosses any emails they'll regret. "There’s no beach theme at this vegan restaurant in the East Village, but its focus on the agave plant means tequila is the go-to drink. The Buddy Love Goes Coconuts cocktail is filled with a mix of tequila, pineapple, coconut, pandan, orange, and a dusting of coffee beans on top. It can be ordered in a to-go cup ($18) or with a compostable young coconut ($25) for a more festive take." - Kat Odell, Eater Staff

The place is really nice atmosphere and service wise. We are not big fans of Mexican cuisine, bit decided to check it out. The food was good, but not great to our palate. Wine was good, cocktail - so-so. Other places from "Overthrow hospitality" chain got higher ranks in our list. But if you like Mexican food, go and check it out, it's worth it.

This place is absolutely stunning. As soon as you walk in everything is adorned with beautiful flowers and hanging parasols. Truly just a magical feeling once you enter. The food is out of this world. You can’t even tell that you’re eating vegan or plant-based food. We went for brunch and loved every single dish we had especially the churro’s that came in a cute little piggy. Highly recommend this place

What an amazing experience - the loveliest barman Felix and his colleagues all made for a fun Saturday night. We had tasty food and cocktails that are classics with a twist - can highly recommend the retox! We discovered a genuine gem by chance. Thank you :)

I was blown away by the food at Etérea. I’ve been to many vegan spots, Mexican themed as well, but this spot definitely found a way to shine. The corn ribs. My goodness the corn ribs. They were so good, “fall off the bone” type good 😉 Make sure to order that. The guacamole is also solid. The nachos though really stole the show. They were beautiful and they glittered. Our group was in awe. The tacos were also really delicious, although I was so stuffed by the end. I also really enjoyed my drink, Yellow Pineapple. Great music and vibes. From a sustainability perspective they used planet friendly straws and minimal single use items 👌looking forward to going back! Shout out to Michael for taking care of our group!

Google
The food and drinks were exceptional 👌, even better than the first time I visited. The chef stopped by our table to ask if we were enjoying the food and seemed passionate about his cooking. Staff are friendly and attentive. As a Mexican who grew up eating all types of Mexican food, finding a place like this after becoming Vegan makes me feel at home. Thank you for the experience 🙏 I will be returning soon 😊.

As someone who identifies as a “carnivore” and rarely goes to vegan restaurants, I musf say that I was pleasantly surprised! My friends and I went for dinner on a Friday night, and the ambiance was immediately amazing. Lovely aesthetics and groovy music. We shared the guacamole, tostadas, corn rib elote, envueltas, and the quesabirria and everything was SO good! While also being a gluten-free restaurant, you couldn’t tell the food was gluten free as the textures were very spot-on. Special shout out for the corn rib elote (and I dont even like corn) and the envueltas. For dessert, we got the habanero chili churros, and those were amazing. A subtle spicy flavour along with the powdered sugar and chocolate dipping sauce, the spice and sweetness complemented each other so well. We also got a number of cocktails and mocktails, and they were all really good too. My personal shout out goes to the yellow pineapple (alcoholic) and the mellow pineapple (non-alcoholic). Overall, an amazing experience and I would definitely return!

Google
Awesome food 👍 experience. Excellent ambience, great service and overall a great evening. Flautas and Elote are really super tasty and out of this world. Don't mind having one more round of the same. Drinks are good and fun. Three Retox is super 🔥🥵 spicy and Strong. The sodas are well presented, well done and we enjoyed. The Tlayuda is an interesting taste, having had never similar. Worth a try and check out. The Quesabirria was good but very salty. Had to check why so, and found that it's due to the jackfruit having excessive salt in them. Most likely that's not common. The Habanero Chili 🌶️ Churros is another interesting taste indeed. Loved the little spice that brought into Sweet Churros. Same goes with Vegan Flan which is really great.

Google
A wonderfully cozy place with delicious food and outstanding service. We sat inside and enjoyed the almost magical gluten-free and vegan plates - but the outside looked equally tastefully decorated and cozy. An all around highly memorable experience I can highly recommend!

Yelp
MUST VISIT Great drinks- great food. Presentation and flavor WAS EVERYTHING. Have visited several times and was never disappointed. Very attentive staff, with friendly smiles and energy. Great ambiance with intimate sections to sit. This place is on my wife and I's top 10 list. One of the best vegan restaurants we have been to.

Mickie K.

Yelp
We made a reservation for 4 people and we got seated immediately. The interior featured charming umbrellas hanging from the ceiling near the entrance, adorned with lights, while behind the bar were church piano organs. The visit was timely as the establishment is about to close, allowing for sampling all items on the menu. The waitress provided excellent service, and the food was exceptional, particularly the elote as an appetizer and the fajitas as the main course. Every dish was flavorful and well-seasoned. A noteworthy mention includes the endearing bathroom mirror. A unique dish tried was the jackfruit birria, offering a distinct taste. The gluten-free menu offerings were appreciated. Sadge, that this place will soon be closed, but happy I was able to try it out.

Yelp
I thought I was aware of every plant-based restaurant in the east village, so I was surprised and intrigued when a friend recommended Eterea, and what a treat! It's on a quiet block off Avenue A with a facade that looks like a cute little cottage exploding with flowers. You won't regret letting yourself be lured in. The interior is somehow both cool and cozy. The staff are warm, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the food is the best part! I went with the cauliflower entree (after much internal debate, since everything was so tempting!) and it was amazing. Perfectly toasted cauliflower sitting in a bed "ranchero sauce" that packed an incredible amount of flavor. I wouldn't have expected $18 cauliflower to be worth it, but it was! The cocktail list is extensive. All of the cocktails feature tequila or mezcal but are paired with things ranging from mole bitters to blackberries to absinthe. I went with the bartender's recommendation, the avion de papel, which was citrusy and delicious.

Sonja K.

Yelp
Came here the other night for dinner and drinks. Sat at the bar. Their cocktail selection is great and all the mix ins are freshly juiced. I went for the Paloma drink with blanco tequila and fresh squeezed grapefruit, loved it! For food my friend and I split nachos, corn ribs and the zucchini tacos. All were divine! The sauces and flavors make each bite such an experience, cannot believe this it was all plant based vegan! I will def be back. Ambiance is dimly lit, great date spot or spot to hit with friends. Service was also great! They didn't rush us, allowed us to sit and take our time.

Yelp
Etérea is so clutch. The food is delicious--you do not need to be vegan or even like vegans to enjoy it. The same goes for the cocktails, which punch well above their price point. The drinks are creative and flavorful; it is nigh impossible to restrain yourself to just one. The decor strikes a careful balance of trendy yet cozy, and the staff consistently goes above and beyond to be helpful.   Some pointers if you are reading this in between scrolling the menu: the elote ribs do not miss. Neither do the quesabirria tacos. Those are mainstays that I will always recommend. And obviously you can't go wrong with guac or nachos.   For drinks, I have explored most of the menu. It's all great. But I always get at least one of the Double Barrel Oaxaca Old Fashioneds. The Ricardo Zarza and Retox are also crowd pleasers and frequent my rotation. Because the vibes are so strong and the cocktails so good (the reverse is also true), we often swing through for post-dinner drinks whenever we're in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Great ambiance! The restaurant has an interesting bar with an organ built into it - a really futuristic/modern vibe with classic Mexican elements as well. Cocktail was delicious, i had the yellow jester cocktail which was flavorful and beautifully made- strong flavor of coconut which balanced the tequila and chartreuse. We shared the elote- very flavorful, I forgot it was vegan! I had the al pastor tacos which were a bit bland, not sure I would get those again. Will definitely return to try more cocktails and the desserts! The service was also excellent- wonderful waiter who explained the menu highlights to us and fixed our wobbly table without us asking :)

Sabrina P.

Yelp
This restaurant really surprised me and in the best way! I'm not a vegan / usually eat gluten free foods, but this restaurant did their food so well that it has me thinking I should eat more food like this! My table of 3 shared a couple of items on the menu. I highly recommend the corn ribs (WOW) and the zucchini tacos. We each got a cocktail and I really think you can't go wrong with whichever one you choose. There's such a wide variety on the menu. The ambiance is so cute inside, super cozy and a cool vibe. I like the couches and even though our server was understaffed he made sure to speak with us about any questions we had on the menu and was very friendly! I would definitely come back! What a gem of a find in East Village.

Yelp
A cute non-traditional Mexican restaurant that features elegant vegan interpretations of Mexican fare. We ordered the tamales, jackfruit "cheese" tacos and nachos for two. All were delicious, I'd say the jackfruit tacos were my favourite because of the unique textures. Drinks wise I tried the sparkling wine and a Mezcal Mule on recommendation from the manager. Both drinks were excellent. Service was very good, relatively attentive and the plates came out as they were ready. ....and also, the Nachos were dusted in glitter. Not sure if this was just for Pride month or a regular thing but it was quite stunning.

Yelp
This place is a solid 4, maybe 4.5! We are not vegans but have a vegan family member and wanted to try it before bringing her here when she comes to visit. Here's what we got: 1. Tostadas (5/5)... Sure it's messy and there are crispy leeks everywhere but it is so tasty! Highly recommend 2. Brussel sprouts (4/5)... delicious but a little heavy on the mole-like sauce. Probably would leave this off next time 3. Zucchini taco (4.5/5)... I gave this a 5, my bf gave it a 4... I honestly didn't feel like I was eating a massif zucchini taco-- it was so delicious. Perfectly seasoned and really tasty. All in all I'd say this is a pricy vegan dinner but definitely delicious and we'd definitely return! Drinks were also great. The Oaxaca old fashioned and retox were our faves!

Yelp
Spent some time in the East Village and stumbled upon this cute restaurant. We decided to check it out, and for a Saturday night, it was pretty quiet. Granted, COVID-19 was was running rampant in the city. I'm sure they're much busier on a typical night. My friend and I stopped in and sat at the bar to order a few drinks. I knew it was a vegan restaurant from the restaurant group behind Ladybird (a place I LOVE) but did not realize this is also a mezcal/tequila bar! How fun! I love mezcal. The drinks we got were great, and the mezcal wasn't too overpowering, which it can be at times. Overall, I liked the ambiance and the drinks, so I would definitely come back again to try out the food because the menu also looked delicious!

Yelp
I've been to Eterea twice and can definitely say I thoroughly enjoy this place! My most recent visit was December 2022. We had an early reservation (5PM) because we had tickets to a show at 8PM. The service was incredible! Everyone was so kind and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Definitely some of the better vegan Mexican food out there. I would say on the level of Gracias Madre--iykyk. We ordered the elote, tostadas, quesabirria, and churros. The food came out fast and so flavorful and delicious. We all had wine which paired perfectly with our food. It was easy to make a reservation on Resy! You can't go wrong with an Overthrow Hospitality restaurant.

Yelp
While visiting the city, my husband and I made it a point to come here for dinner. When I saw that everything was vegan and gluten-free AND that mezcal was on the menu, I couldn't resist! Since we had an 8:00 show, we did an early dinner beforehand. We were really hungry so we tried quite a few things and shared them. We started with the guacamole, and then moved on to the broccoli, aciento tacos and tamale. Everything was incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. Not being able to eat wheat, it's not often that I'm able to get things crunchy or fried, but the broccoli was everything that I'd been missing in one dish! Even though it was inadvisable after eating so much, we had to finish our meal with the churros (another thing I normally can't eat). They were absolutely incredible and the chocolate dipping sauce made them even better. It was a really cute, cozy atmosphere and both the service and food were fantastic. It's so nice going somewhere where I don't have to worry about getting accidentally "glutened" and can eat completely plant based. I'm so grateful that this place exists and I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in the city!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I wanted to try something that wasn't on our longgg list of restaurants in the city, just for a different experience. We quickly realized it should have been on that list! For those care about such things/don't already know, Eterea is owned by Overthrow Hospitality, whose CEO was a cofounder of Death and Co, and currently owns places like Avant Garden and Cadence. So there's some street cred to this place. Ambience: 5/5. Intimate, not too loud but just loud enough that you couldn't hear people next to you. Great place for a date. Service: 5/5. They really knocked it out of the park with their knowledge of drinks and food, and were really efficient. Drinks: 5/5. Recommend the Yellow Pineapple and the Avion de Papel! Don't think they have the Panic at the Hibisco anymore, but if it comes back, get it. Food: The Corn Elote. Nothing else need be said. It was the right amount of savory/salty/sour/spicy and just fantastic. The zucchini was great too! We also got the ceviche previously, which I believe is off the menu - but was a nice mix of light but satisfying. 5/5. Definitely worth checking out

Yelp
I went to check this place out on their last day of service, unfortunately, but at least I got to go before they closed. This is a vegan and gluten free restaurant. I have to say that the food was so so. The tacos were too small for the price. I don't drink alcohol so I cannot comment on that. I had a fizzy soda like drink which was ok, but I wouldn't order it again if they were still open, that being said, the corn ribs were a knock out, way beyond delicious. OMG. It was my favorite thing that I ordered. I can't even really describe how good they were. I ordered a second helping, they were that good. Finger licking. The churros were a little disappointing as they were gluten free and really dense. I did not like them at all, sorry to say. Beautiful presentation though. I'm sorry this place is now closed. I would definitely revisit again and again just to get my hands on those corn ribs. When and if you do re open something new, PLEASE include the corn ribs on the menu.

Lauren G.

Yelp
This place is definitely a hidden gem. It's very difficult to find all gluten free and all vegan and so this was a huge win. The vibe is really cute and cozy and would recommend the fajitas!

Kathryn T.

Yelp
DAMN. So it's rare that I order veg or vegan Mexican food... because meat is just so good. To be able to come in at five stars as a vegan spot just shows how special Eterea is. It really does blow Jajaja out of the water. Here is what you need to know: 1. Outdoor seating and great indoor vibe. Make a reservation if you can. 2. THAT ELOTE. The dish was created to mimic ribs and it is one of the most memorable takes on corn I have ever had 3. Cocktails are strong so be prepared. 4. The playlist is 100. I was so hype, it made the food that much better. 5. Portions are deceivingly filling. Don't let the vegan part scare you... Eterea is absolutely worth the visit. You won't miss meat and will have a great time when you're here.

YingLinn C.

Yelp
Came in here on a Saturday night for quick drinks and there was a wait. We didn't have reservations, but server kindly accommodated and offered us a table. The guacamole was definitely delicious, topped with beans and "thick" chips. Very flavorful, one of the better guacs I've had. The drinks were delicious!! I ordered a tormenta and my friend ordered a pineapple something. The pineapple was so delicious, like a light pina colada. The tormenta was stronger, and I didn't like it as much because of the mezcal, but that's on me!! Can't wait to go back to try the other dishes on the menu.

Melinda W.

Yelp
Etérea is an absolutely MUST GO to dine place even if you're not vegan! The inside was quite unique. An incredible experience: We ordered 3 cocktails, 1 Corn Rib Elote and 3 Jackfruit Tacos (which to my first impression I thought would taste like fruit - but it did not, phew). Everything was mouthwatering deliciouso. The food really blew my mind because who would've thought that vegan Mexican food could taste so good? Every bite was so incredible, I just wanted more. After we were all done, we were all amazed how everything was so delicious. Everyone was also extremely friendly. Kept checking in to see how we were loving our food and how we were doing. (: The only thing I would mention is that if you're seated by the door - the corner couch was comfortable but the only problem was that the table was quite small and the light hung a bit too low. So be careful while moving in and out of the seating area, you may hit the lights!

Angie L.

Yelp
*4.5/5 (A little biased bc I love free food and we got the drinks and guacamole free thanks to a Bumble marketing scheme. Eterea is a lil bougie otherwise.) A vegan Mexican-inspired joint that's vibey and dark on the inside (very hookah lounge-esque lol). My lactose-intolerant self was very excited abt the non-dairy offerings and even more lit to have part of my meal subsidized by a dating app. Service was a bit busy but friendly. Yellow Pineapple cocktail -- my friend ordered this, twas light and fruity and fun! Corn Cob Pipe cocktail -- not light or fruity and only semi-fun. A decently strong drink; that tequila be hitting hard. Was a teensy bit longer of a wait on the drinks. Guacamole and chips -- a satisfying hunk of guac paired with four black corn tortilla chips. Corn Ribs Elote -- their standout dish and this was pretty flavorful! Several thin strips of corn on the cob doused w seasoning, atop a bed of delicious aioli. I don't know how this compares to a street vendor's elote, but this was yummy (altho pricey) Tostadas -- Pretty solid fare, tasted good My biggest reservation would have to be the prices as the food itself was solid (most of the dishes were just prettier, pricier versions of common Mexican street foods), but most of that was mitigated thanks to Bumble. We love you Bumble

Cathy Y.

Yelp
I did not like this place. Of course it is vegan so you need to level set ones expectations of the type of food you eat here, but I genuinely thought everything was either over sauced or over done. The corn elote was AWESOME, but everything else wasn't that good. I left incredibly hungry, after paying around $50pp. I think they are quite clever in being able to make many interesting things vegan (tacos, nachos, appetizers) but in general I did find that all of the food was so very over done. I will not be back. Honestly, I would have rated this restaurant a lower score but I do think they were clever in creating food via just a vegan menu.

Laura G.

Yelp
This is a really funky place, perfect for a date. I was so excited that everything on the menu is vegan! They were really accommodating to my additional dietary restriction (intolerance to spicy) and the waiter checked back several times with the kitchen to make sure my choice was okay. The elote was elite, so was my nonalcoholic mango cocktail (one of the best I've had.) The tlayuda was okay, it was really hard to cut into/awkward. The flavors were good but I bet there's much better things on the menu. Overall this place is pricy, but glad to have tried it.

Alan S.

Yelp
This was one of my absolute best restaurant experiences this year. When it comes to hip vegan Mexican spots in the city, Eterea blows Jajaja out of the water! Before getting to the food, the space is lively but comfortable; spacious enough for an intimate date, but with enough volume on the speakers for the beginning of a long night out. My mezcal-based old fashioned had a lovely sweet citrus note while packing a punch (and it seemed the alcohol content increased by my 2nd refill). In terms of food, our favorites were the deeply rich jackfruit tamales and aioli-laden tostadas. The fried mushroom taco, huitlacoche guacamole, and elegantly-shaped elote were also very good. Just beware that with generous fillings and toppings, this can quickly become a messy meal - perhaps not ideal for a first date.

Scott v.

Yelp
Eterea was perfect for our vegan date. The mock tails were delicious. Service classy. Ambience good, ONCE they lowered the volume a few notches from the speaker above our heads! Outdoor seating looked a bit cold and dirty for us. Menu highlights-it was all good.

Clarissa G.

Yelp
Has been closed for a year. I took a cab across town to find out they're no longer in business.

L. V.

Yelp
This is one of the sexiest spots I've been to in a while. (Except for the patio looking chairs and small pillows they can do without lol) It just has that vibe and everything went perfectly dinning in here for our first time. Came here on a Thursday night and they weren't busy at all which made it even better !!! Let me get to the point... The drinks !! Omg the drinks were amazing ! We both had the old fashion and the way it was made with the smoking cinnamon stick was aromatic and delicious to say the least... You have to try !! The music was on point, waiter was so friendly and personable (awesome) Food !! The food was yummy in my tummy !! Everything vegan, clean well run restaurant with outside seating aswell. I actually look forward to coming back here hopefully some time soon. Thank you Eteria, we loved it!

Rose I.

Yelp
Stopped in for Cinco de Mayo and thoroughly enjoyed the huge nachos dish , corn ribs elote, broccoli deep fried in corn dog batter, and the mushroom tacos!

Holly M.

Yelp
So upon sitting down, I had NO idea the menu was vegan. I saw the cocktail list and made a reservation based on that. Not that it matters, I am pescatarian so this was fine, it was just a little funny. Anyway, SUCH a cute spot. Beautifully decorated, cute space, and so many pillows :) (I think that's how they separate us :) Everyone was super nice, and the food was SO a DAMN GOOD. Standouts were the cauliflower, and the tostadas. Like utterly outstanding in flavor. There is a corn dish that was literally the best Mexican corn we've ever had, and I love corn. I could've just eaten this ALL NIGHT. Drinks. Drinks were the reason I wanted to come here, as I LOVE Mezcal, and finding good place in the city can be hard. The drinks we knockout. Had quite a few and ended up finishing with a Retox. And by finishing, I mean I had three. My friend had an absinthe based drink which was also STELLAR. Would definitely recommend and will be back!!

Deana B.

Yelp
Great place for delicious cocktail and snacks! The drink menu is extensive and creative, there's something for everyone. The food is equally as creative and so good! Atmosphere is cute, perfect place for a date or drinks with friends. The bartender John is awesome and a lot of fun. If you can snag a seat at the bar, you'll have a good time!

Julia C.

Yelp
The ambiance was very intimate and a chill vibe. The food and drinks overall was a big wow factor. The quesabirria tacos were so delicious its crazy to think that it is made from jack fruit. The flavors and spice were all there. The service was great, the servers are alert and proactive. The nachos were splendid and the cocktail that i had, la Tormenta was great if you love guava. Whoever reads this and is skeptical about vegan Mexican cuisine just Dive in and experiment cause it will all be worth it!

Julie C.

Yelp
8 woman converge in this cozy LES spot to talk & laugh & play ... sharing stories, tasting new drinks and relishing the food. Groups our size require a fixed menu, which works great here. The corn "ribs" were devoured and everything is gluten-free and vegan so all of us could relax and eat safely & deliciously. A new fav spot for lively memories.

Michele H.

Yelp
Just had my second dinner here last night and it once again did not disappoint. Everything about Etérea is so welcoming--the beautiful interior and relaxed atmosphere, the hospitable service, and the incredible menu! Highly recommend the corn rib elote and the zucchini tacos, as well as the yellow pineapple and retox cocktails (though I would try one of everything if you can!). Thanks to the wonderful staff that kept our drinks full and the delicious plates coming, they made wonderful recs. Can't wait to come back to this epic spot to try the wine list!

Shahana G.

Yelp
The ambiance is very intimate but the food was unique and delicious! Going during the week is not busy.

Cole R.

Yelp
Very good vegan and gluten free Mexican food. Definitely the type of place you could bring people who aren't either of those but will still love the food. Staff is knowledgeable about the drinks and can recommend something. Last time I came was on a Tuesday and they gave us free shots, apparently it's a Tuesday thing.

Pearl A.

Yelp
I was more than excited to try this new restaurant by overthrow, especially after having the best food and experiences at Cadence and Soda club (see my reviews). Unfortunately some things fell short, the service not great, although the server was fantastic. Our drinks didn't come until most of our dinner was over, we asked for a water refill about 4 times before we got one (took 20 minutes). Food was incredible, we got the guac, which has an amazing fungus on top. The corn was out of this world, a must order. Mushroom tacos were decent as were the tamales. Compared to soda club and cadence it's not the best of nyc vegan but it definitely has the potential to become it. P.S. ORDER THE CORN PUDDING!!! It's a robbery because its 2 bites but sooooo worth it. Amazing.

Frank A.

Yelp
Eterea is a vegan mezcal bar in the East Village that would make any whiskey loving carnivore a convert. The cocktails are inventive and delicious. Riffs on traditional cocktails such as the Negroni and the Paper Plane are fun and creative. The all vegan menu is excellent. The food is simply packed with flavor. The mushroom tacos and zucchini cakes are amazing. The East Village vibe adds to the experience. Eterea is part of Overthrow Hospitality and their motto is "eat, drink, start a revolution." Eterea may be starting a vegan revolution!

Celisa F.

Yelp
I went after a long flight. Missed last call and the staff was so kind and took such amazing care of me! Manu makes the best margaritas! Literally made me feel like I was at home can't wait to go back and explore the menu more

Loved the food and drinks here! Both the tacos are amazing, especially the bbq one. Our server suggested us to get corn ribs and they were amazing!! We really liked the Tamale as well. My fav drink here is Amante - it is mixed so well, you can actually figure all the ingredients distinctly. Only thing is the food is a bit expensive for the portion size.

Yelp
Dropped here randomly the other night with two friends when it was incredibly cold and our original destination seemed (in the siberian conditions) too far away. No reservation, the place was packed...but the extremely friendly staff found us space at the bar. Seriously good cocktails followed (including a truly lovely mezcal negroni...OK two of them) served by Manuel, an extremely knowledgable and engaging fellow behind the bar. I'm not even vegetarian but the food--starters and tacos--were absolutely delicious and very satisfying. Highly recommended--a wonderful discovery in fact. I will most definitely return.

Yelp
I am so glad I found this place and made a reservation during a weekend trip to NYC. Some of the absolute best food, drink, and service you're going to find under one roof. Let's just start at the top: the elotes. Get them. They're the best. My party ordered it six times. Yes. Six. Two of these orders came after we ate our meals, which were, of course, also delicious. We had a ton of fun with our waitress, who was extremely knowledgeable and fun. She steered us in the right direction on our entrees, and just couldn't have been nicer. A new gem in Lower Manhattan, you absolutely have to get here!

Yelp
Good food, nice atmosphere but wouldn't return. This is a one-time-only restaurant for me. The restaurant is really cute -- nice decor, but it's uncomfortable seating (from the bar to the booths) and way overpriced. I understand places like this serve up pricey food but to serve a single "deconstructed" tamale for $20? Lol it's a joke. The drinks are good too and at the regular Manhattan prices (but in Alphabet City and so far away from the subway, the prices should be knocked down a few dollars, imo). The service was great to begin with. But as the night progressed, the service ended up really bad. We ordered more drinks and a few sips in we were given our check. That's weird. We paid no attention to it and after a few mins the waiter told us to pay because they needed our table. It was rude, it was abrupt, it was weird. They could've moved us to the bar or apologized that they had to rush us out... but it just shows a lack of sophistication of the servers there, when you're paying very sophisticated prices. Nice to try once but wouldn't trek back. Also, the music is too loud.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this place! From the beautiful decor to the amazing food & drink to the awesome service...this place is a true gem! Perfect for an intimate date night or enough seating for a group meetup. Sit back and sip on a cocktail as you listen to the hip Latin music and enjoy the creative decor.

Yelp
Yum Good moods at Eterea Got the: - Ricardo Zarza (strong tequila background taste) - Aplastar (sweet, fruity, pineapple) - Guacamole (super flavorful - I get Guac everywhere & this one is unique!) And enjoyed the reggaeton - music is the best part!!

Yelp
The food was exceptional!! The service was a little slow, but we were also tucked behind the door and in a corner... the rib elote was SO divine, Nopal and Al Pastor tacos were seriously yum, the tlayuda was INSANE, and the guacamole was more generous than most other restaurants and the chips were obviously homemade -- I highly recommend this place for a fun date night, girls night, intimate setting, and absolutely exceptional food! The manager was also wonderful...

Yelp
All the food was absolutely amazing. My wife is not vegan and she said the birria tacos were the best tacos she ever had even compared to none vegan tacos. Service and food 10/10!

Yelp
Exception service with delicious food in a sexy atmosphere. Order one of every cocktail because you're not going to want to miss any of them. Great for a date night with cocktails, girls night dinner, etc. etc.

Yelp
So impressed with the Overthrow Hospitality restaurants. Went to Soda Club right before dinner at Etérea. Both places had incredible service and the taste was really flavorful. Got the Corn Rib Elote, Tamale, Nachos, Cauliflower & Ceviche. Everything was amazing! Can't decide between the Corn Ribs and Nachos, both were showstoppers. Hats off to the team for coming up with interesting vegan recipes. The restaurant itself boasts a cute vibe with fun (and delicious) drinks. Good for a date night. I hope to come back again :)

Yelp
Went for brunch and it was delicious. Cute place with lovely staff. The tables are difficult to eat at because they are so low. But that's fine I have bad posture anyways.

Yelp
I was blown away by the food at Etérea. I've been to many vegan spots, Mexican themed as well, but this spot definitely found a way to shine. The corn ribs. My goodness the corn ribs. They were so good, "fall off the bone" type good Make sure to order that. The guacamole is also solid. The nachos though really stole the show. They were beautiful and they glittered. Our group was in awe. The tacos were also really delicious, although I was so stuffed by the end. I also really enjoyed my drink, Yellow Pineapple. Great music and vibes. From a sustainability perspective they used planet friendly straws and minimal single use items looking forward to going back! Shout out to Michael for taking care of our group!
