Eva’s was recommended to us by the hotel staff when we were looking for a delicious and unique breakfast spot. It’s located on a busy downtown street along the trolley line, in a vintage building painted in blue and gold. There are café tables out front under shady trees, and inside you’ll find an amazing counter of pastries and sandwiches, with additional seating in the back.
Hint: Many people stand in line, order, and take their food and drinks to-go. If you want to sit in the restaurant, you can skip the line and wait by the dining area. A staff member will ask if you’d like a table and will seat you. We came on two consecutive mornings (because the first visit was so good).
Over our two visits, we tried the Almond Chocolate Croissant, Vegetable Quiche, and Roasted Beef & Avocado Toast. Everything was excellent — fresh, flavorful, generous portions, and beautifully presented. You can tell they make everything with care. They also offer all the usual coffee drinks, and my London Fog Tea Latte was very good.
Service on both visits was professional, efficient, and patient. Even though it was always busy, we never felt rushed. The dining room was full but quiet enough to have a conversation.
I would have loved to take more pastries to-go, but we were too full. Definitely a place we’d return to!
