Fourth, and most importantly, Evergreen makes a darn great burger. It’s a two-hander, stacked with two thoroughly seasoned, freshly ground beef patties, a thick housemade sesame seed bun, american cheese, onions, housemade pickles, and aioli. "Evergreen in Atlanta has some famous burgers that are only sold on Sundays. But on other days of the week, this Kirkwood spot is our pastry go-to—the Oma’s apple cake is in a league of its own. This muffin-shaped pastry has a sugary crumble on the outside and is filled with sweet apple slices. Stop by for delicious sourdough bread, sweet cinnamon rolls, and tasty sandwiches like ham and cheese croissants, or stock up on various cuts for fresh beef, including ribeye, sirloin, and chuck roast from the butcher case. On Sundays—the only day they sell their famous burger—the line to get into the shop stretches way down the block. And the long wait is worth it if your FOMO won’t let you rest without trying one of the best burgers in the city. It isn't overly sweet and is solid when it’s warmed up and eaten with a hot coffee or tea.
