The 20 Best Sports Bars In Philly

"If you want to watch the Eagles, Sixers, or even the Philadelphia Wings, you can pretty much walk into any bar with a working TV. But if you’re a soccer fan, your choices are a lot more limited. There are a few places around the city that play the matches, and Fado in Center City is the best of them. Unlike most other soccer bars, Fadó doesn’t have a certain team they always show, and they’re playing a bunch of different games at once. You can expect to eat things like chicken quesadillas, warm and soft Bavarian pretzels, sliders topped with Guinness mayo, and jumbo wings. Bring a crew of Union fans here, and since they open as early as 10am on the weekends, you can even catch the overseas action between sips of beers. " - candis mclean

Best Bars to Watch Soccer in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"For a perfectly pulled pint of Guinness and classic Irish pub fare, Fado is one of the first places that comes to mind when searching for a great soccer spot. It’s no surprise the pub attracts fans from Atlanta United and European leagues. Don’t sleep on the cold smoked salmon bites for a refreshing and unexpected snack." - Krista Miller

Google
Great time here for sure. I enjoyed the boxty quesadillas and a soft pretzel while knocking back some Guinness. The atmosphere is worth the drive alone. Makes me feel like I'm back in Dublin.

Haven’t been here for food, but you can’t beat the bottomless mules on Friday evenings. Extremely reasonable prices, friendly service (all of the times I was here the waitresses never let any of our cups go empty) and really fun vibes. I always try to go here with a group for an early night out and always have fun.

Great food and service. I had the Irish breakfast. It was as good if not better than what I had in Ireland.

Made reservation for 5:30 on a Wednesday and was immediately seated. Service from Andrea was excellent. Even jumped in and addressed table wobble without our even asking. Food was excellent. We took a chance on fish and chips and were not disappointed. Very good. I even liked the coleslaw. Fries were seasoned and delicious and hot. Made it to our table fast. Will be returning.

Great lunch with my girlfriend and her two kids. Recommended!

Wife loved her burger. Staff was great. Was there at lunch so it was pretty empty. I’m sure it is hoping at night.

Great drinks and friendly staff. We stopped in for a quick drink to relax with before our big day at the aquarium. Pictured is the Mr. Pickles & Punch drink with the dried pineapple. Another member in our group ordered the Guinness.

I met up with a friend for brunch. We ordered Irish breakfast plate and corned beef sandwich. They were both delicious. A soccer game was on while we were there so it’s crowded but fun to watch the fans cheering for their teams. Follow me @bonn_voyager for more.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came in to Fado in the early evening on Saturday and it was extremely busy and a little bit overwhelming. We sat at the bar and were a bit apprehensive to stay, but there was this bartender, Nathan (I believe he said his name was) that made us feel at home and comfortable. We ordered two White Russians and he made them absolutely perfect, exactly how we asked for them. He was so sweet and took the time, regardless of everything going on, to really make us feel special. We can't wait to come back and stay for dinner next time.

Yelp
Having had missed almost every Celtics game, my friends coerced me into coming to this one, which was evidently one of their first losses in a while (how ironic). My friends were already quickly becoming regulars and were able to get a bench which was perfectly positioned at the center of the room to view the game from one of their 10 screens available. We shared a few order of their wings which were delicious regardless of the flavor you got (bbq, sweet chili, buffalo, lemon pepper). Drinks were great, I had my first Black & Gold - Stella Artois which was delicious and something I'd like to get again. Our waitress was really on the ball on taking orders and cleaning our table as the night went on. Overall, we had a really fun time with good food, drinks, and service. Highly recommend checking this place out and not shying from utilizing their kitchen!

Yelp
So I came into Atlanta with two of my coworkers yesterday morning from Boston for a work trip. We got off at the train station in Midtown?? and were unsure of what to do. I looked up "pubs" and saw that there was an Irish one really near by. We walked up around 11am when they were first opening. Nate was unlocking the door as we approached and invited us in like we were instant family. We asked if we could sit on the patio and led the way without hesitation and cracked jokes here and there. We're from Boston where there is TONS of Irish pubs, and Nate made us feel so comfortable, like a guy at a pub should. His suggestions were spot on, and btw, the Fish and Chips were stellar. Next time we come back to Atlanta, we will definitely come back to Fado in town because of servers like Nate.

Yelp
Very terrible experience from management level. She didn't want to reveal her name. She has to claim that I need to leave where I told her what is wrong and why I need to leave. She told me that I am undermining her with her staff that I don't have clue what that means and she asked me to leave the premises. I will never comeback to that place unless that woman is revealed from her duties and resign

Yelp
my husband and I drive in from Michigan to visit our daughters. We needed a place to watch our home team play and Fado came up. We were greeted by Erica. her knowledge of the menu was impressive and she had all the answers to my husbands annoying questions and she did it with a smile. The food was excellent but Erica took our experience over the top. She invited our girls back as she told them about all the weekly events they have. I must say i have not had a good waitress like Erica in a long time! Get the signature espresso martini and ask for Erica tell her the Bookers from Michigan sent you. Go blue!

Yelp
Fado is always a guaranteed good time in Midtown with the best sports always on and a great atmosphere. I've been with work and with friends and it's always consistent! The food to me overall is nothing out of the water but standard bar food that gets the job done. They have some of the best mules in my opinion and the drinks are always delicious. I've tried most of the appetizers and the chicken quesadillas and the fried goat cheese are some classics! This time we came for the Atlanta United game on a Saturday and got a table for 7 people really easy which was awesome! The host even mentioned he had the game with volume in the back which was great. For an app, we got the cheese dip which was delicious. For the main, I got the cheesy double stack with fries and it was good! For me a little it was a little dry but the appetizers are the best thing on the menu. I also got the southern mule to drink which was delish! Overall for a great and consistent time we love Fado!

Yelp
We had a lovely time here! There was a soccer game that started while we were there and it was fun to see super fans trickle in while we ate. Service was a tad longer than average but seeing as it was a pretty packed house I'd say they did a great job! We ordered the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese as an appetizer but devoured it before I remembered to take a picture. For our mains I chose the Fado burger and my husband ordered fish and chips. Nice portions and amazing taste! Fun crowd, delicious food and overall a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Fado's a pretty fun bar not too far from Fox Theater in downtown. It has a plush modern glitzy but cozy vibe about it. Plenty of space for friends gather over a few drinks and not as loud as some of those places in Atlanta are where music is so loud, you can't really hear the music let alone your thoughts. I guess the youn'ns prefer noise over conversation. Service here is friendly and flirty and fun but also dependable and reliable.

Yelp
Great location, parking validation for up to two hours (garage is directly behind and connected to the restaurant/shopping boutiques). Had a wonderful time celebrating a close friend's birthday, with quick service, great hospitality, and delicious drinks (order off menu beverages if you can; the bartenders love to show off!). The pretzel is a must order- it's HUGE and perfect for two people.

Yelp
Well, I discovered this place one night while I was headed to the nearby comedy club. I'm not gonna lie, they had me at fried goat cheese. So, on my next visit to a show, I stopped by and glad I did. First, you step into a very deemly lite but very inviting atmosphere . My waiter soon greeted me and took my order. I told him my love of goat cheese and ordered some fried goat cheese. He let me know that they were on the happy hour menu. You get 3 at a reduced price versus 4 at regular price. He brought them to me, and OMG, they were heavenly. I wished I had ordered a full order . Then I settled on sheppards pie. That was simply nothing but a meaty goodness. I honestly was either so excited about the food that night ,are was hungry. I forgot to take pictures of the Sheppard pie. The food was great. However IMO they could stand to have more things on the menu. I felt like to me they had a very limited menu. I will trust, though, that they know what they are doing. I will surely return.

Yelp
We had a friend coming in town to visit so wanted a place that could host a larger group plus put on the Atlanta United game! We were seated quickly, although service was a little slow once we were seated. Fado's food is pretty typical pub food but solid choices. I had a mule which was delicious. We split a couple appetizers, including the cheese dip and wedges as well as fried goat cheese. These were super delicious and easy to share!! For dinner, I had the Buffalo Chicken sandwich. It was alright, nothing super special, just a standard chicken sandwich. My friends all enjoyed their meals. Overall, a decent Midtown spot!

Yelp
Awesome atmosphere on a Friday night . Live music , Irish car bombs and Smithwicks , I cant ask for too much more.

Yelp
Any place heavily decorated for Halloween is already a 5 star for me. It shows dedication to employee experience for such a short lived holiday! Service was excellent considering there was one bartender on a Thursday afternoon during a UEFA league game. He was super attentive to everyone at all tables and the bar. I loved my pretzel! So large and really soft inside. The fish tacos were also really tasty. Nice vibes and commadery with other fans as well. Recommend for game watching! #MANU

Yonten R.

Yelp
Best bar for for soccer! It's very crowded in game days but the drinks were flowing like water. Bar tenders got 10 hands! Must for soccer games! Atmosphere is fire and rowdy in game days
google avatar

Gillian K.

Yelp
Great food, charming interior, great drinks and lovely staff. The food is always piping hot, and they run a great Man Utd supporters club!
google avatar

Yelp
Fado's brunch is always a good time with $17 bottomless mimosas! I ordered the chicken and waffles and the pretzel to share. Chicken and waffles was so good and flavorful. I didn't care for the verde sauce on it, but the cinnamon butter was a nice touch. The pretzel was also super good, but a bit saltier than I would like. Service was amazing and our waitress was so attentive and we never had to ask for refills on our waters or our mimosas!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped into Fado for brunch. Place is seat yourself. We found a nice high table. I love that the window are tall and open. The place is well lit during the day with the sunshine coming in from the windows. We had the Irish Breakfast and Chicken & Waffles. The Irish breakfast was tasty. I wasn't prepared for how much meat they had on the plate but it was very filling. The only issue I had was I had to get my eggs replaced. I asked for over easy and they gave me over medium/hard. I also had the bottomless mimosas. Our waiter made sure to keep filling my cup up. I told her I came to get tipsy and in the end she asked me was I feeling good. Lol. Would come back and try other items on the menu.
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Walked in to a seat yourself sign. Sat outside and after waiting 10 minutes, a server came out to take the check for another table and did her best to not make eye contact with us so she didn't have to serve us. After another 10 minutes, we left without anyone even noticing that we had been there over 20 minutes.
google avatar

Annabel W.

Yelp
Located in Midtown. I parked at the Metropolitan parking garage only a block behind the restaurant. The restaurant is about five or six blocks away from the Fox Theatre. Which we visited after brunch. There are a variety of drinks and bottomless mimosas. The menu was also varied and healthy. Service was friendly, and the restaurant/bar was clean as were the restrooms.
google avatar

James T.

Yelp
Best fish & chips in town. Midtown has a great energy & staff. Good select of Irish / English dishes.
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
I enjoyed Fadó Irish Pub for a midafternoon bite in Midtown! I ordered the pub burger and an unsweetened iced tea. The pub burger was tasty - flavorful beef and good proportions of everything. I really liked the bun. The fries were a little limp but they were plentiful. The tea was as expected and the waitress kept it coming! Overall, pretty good service and a good spot to watch a game or grab a beer with friends. It's not incredibly impressive but it hit the spot on Saturday. Halloween decorations were also on point!
google avatar

Hannah E.

Yelp
We live in the neighborhood and never get tired of coming here for food or just drinks. Ask for Nathan if you want a great serving experience, he always goes above and beyond to make us feel special!

Anon Y.

Yelp
I like their fish and chips on the menu. Great booze too! The servers get really busy but it does suck to have to wait forever to be seen at the bar. Just not a place that I want to go to back to back.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
The service here is always hit or miss. The waitress did the best she could (I think she was the only one). I got the fish and chips which were actually very good. My bf got the pub sliders which were dry. The wings were solid but not great.
google avatar

Scott F.

Yelp
I love a good "Full Irish Fry Up" or rather an Irish Breakfast. It's almost impossible to find a good Irish or English Breakfast (don't tell anyone, but they're essentially the same ) But if you're yearning for the old country, Fado's has the best and only "real" Irish Breakfast in Atlanta. (As far as I have found) It doesn't come with beans on toast, but you can order them separately. If you don't care for white or black pudding (look it up), you can substitute extra bangers. The service is great unless a match is on and the place is full. Wonderful atmosphere, good vibe, great beer and fantastic breakfast. What more could you want?
google avatar

Christina K.

Yelp
Great service and great drinks! Sat at the bar, bartender was very attentive, also open late night which is always a plus for those late night cravings
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Came for Brunch and was actually pleasantly surprised. Had their Irish Breakfast (with my choice of scrambled eggs). Came with a pretty big plate of food, including sausages, rashers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and toast. (I learned that "rashers" are like slices of ham .. the "Irish bacon.") Food was very tasty and very filling for $14. We also got their bottomless mimosas which came in HUGE glasses. Our waitress was very observant of our drinking speed and frequently dropped by to refill us to the brim. Rest assured, we got our money's worth. Only downside would be if you choose to sit outside, they're doing construction right across the street. Be wary of loud noises and construction dust flying into your food. Would definitely brunch here again!
google avatar

Bernard C.

Yelp
David was great but he had no help. It took awhile to get orders and for food to come. The food was good, so the wait was worth it.
google avatar

Nikita B.

Yelp
Went here on a Saturday morning to get some brunch with a couple of friends. They did not have any coffee based beverages which was disappointing. Our server looked disinterested and unconcerned about providing us with a good customer service experience. The food options were average at best. I ordered the chicken and waffle, which was very basic tasting. It came with your classic waffle and syrup with a piece of fried chicken over it. A few of my other friends ordered their Irish breakfast, which was also average tasting. Their bread wasn't fully toasted either. Overall, it wasn't a great experience, but decent for a quick brunch.
google avatar

Aparajita S.

Yelp
Came by this place to celebrate a friend's early birthday for brunch! Definitely recommend putting in a reservation at this place if you visit on a weekend since the crowd does pick up. I ordered the chicken and waffle dish which looked too pretty to eat in my opinion but had to go all in! I liked how the chicken did not make me feel too greasy or heavy and the waffle was nice and fluffy. The butter on the side was flavored as well with a hint of sweetness and paired well with the syrup and strawberries. Can't wait to come back here again to try some other brunch dishes!
google avatar

Patrick D.

Yelp
they do not wash their glasses. holy shit. we come here a lot but have never gotten a clean drink glass. always lipstick stain and grime on the rims. put your glasses through the dishwasher for the love of god! trivia is fun though!
google avatar

Jeremy B.

Yelp
I think Fado is consistently good. Been coming for years. Friendly staff. Good beer selection. Fun trivia night. Fun place to watch a soccer game.

Kassy C.

Yelp
We live in the neighborhood and love Fado! The staff is always friendly and the food is always good, I consider it elevated bar food. They have something for everyone. Great spot for brunch, lunch, dinner or a drink. We love the sliders, Salmon bites, hummus - fish and chips, fish tacos are good too. Also, don't sleep on the salads! The staff really make it stand out, no matter how busy they are, always friendly and accommodating. Jess was our most current waitress and she was top notch with great recommendations on drinks. We will be back soon!
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
I had such a great experience recently that I just had to write another review. My boyfriend and I stopped by for drinks and light fare around 2pm on a Sunday. The sign at the entrance instructed guests to wait to be seated and after a mere few seconds, a server pops up to seat us. The restaurant was packed so I feared we would be seated at an awful table but our host rounded the corner towards the back of the restaurant and sat us at a nook for two that I didn't even know existed! We were greeted by a warm, friendly server with a fantastic smile and received excellent service throughout our meal (I'm sorry I didn't catch her name, but kudos to the petite curly-haired brunette!). I was pleased to learn they serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays and their brunch menu is definitely work checking out if only for one reason alone: bottomless mimosas for $15! I was so excited for bottomless mimosas but that I immediately placed my order, but was warned by the server that the cutoff would be at 3pm so I would only have an hour or so to enjoy the bottomless experience. I went for the challenge! The server was so sweet - she kept an eye on us the entire time and stopped by the table multiple times to refill my glass. My glass never came close to being empty! The boyfriend and I munched on The Big Soft Pretzel: freakishly big Bavarian pretzel with whole grain mustard and cheese sauce, but we subbed mustard for double cheese at no extra charge. The pretzel was warm and tasty and was the perfect brunch snack. Will be back, thank you for the amazing service, Fado!
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
Really liked this place! Lots of TV's that have sports events on. Started with the big soft pretzel which came with queso and mustard. It was delicious. Got the buffalo chicken sandwich with ranch, and thin fries. Also got the strawberry mule which was delicious. Apparently on Friday night's they do bottomless mules for $25 between 7-9pm. The service was good. I'd return!

Chandler D.

Yelp
Extremely poor service and unprofessional management. Extremely poor management and abhorrent service. Woman at bar literally let me sit for over half an hour without running a credit card. When I complained, next time I was there she asked if I would "be nicer to her." I spoke to manager who said he saw me waiting for half an hour with no service and thought that was fine. This is a waste of a great location and too bad that the many employees there who do well are represented by such unprofessional management. There are other similar places in Atlanta with just as good locations and food and far more professional management. Don't waste your time or money on Fados Peachtree.

Nick M.

Yelp
China is was the best server of all time. If y'all ever raise the price of bottomless I'm never coming here again. Good vibes That's fine

Sarah W.

Yelp
China is the best! She was so flexible with our table of 10 and very attentive. The food was great and our drinks were always full!
google avatar

Niaz P.

Yelp
I've been here before for burgers and enjoyed that, so I decided to come here for brunch. The sandwich I ordered was alright but the potato wedges were amazing. We had great service. We got bottomless mimosas and we never had to wait around for a refill. We sat outside on the patio, but beware there's construction across the street that doesn't make the view appealing.
google avatar

Jennifer O.

Yelp
So I tried their brunch and it was sooo good! I had their classic Irish Breakfast, the sausage was the main star & I would recommend you get extra tomato's on the side guys trust me!! They do have bottomless mimosas Saturday & Sunday, as well as bottomless sangria!
google avatar

Miss B.

Yelp
I love coming to Fado for drinks and I will continue to come back. I have been to the buckhead and midtown location. The one time I tried their happy hour appetizers at the midtown location I was not impressed. The pretzel came with nacho cheese that you get at a stadium for a sports game. I found that pretty gross and it did not taste good with the pretzel. Usually pretzels come with beer cheese dip not nacho cheese. I will be back for the pub atmosphere and nice drinks, but I will not get food here again!

Suzanne C.

Yelp
The food was delicious. We had brunch. Eggs benedict and quesadillas were great. The ambiance is the Whiskey Room is just what we were looking for. Our server NED though, was literally the best part. Super attentive from the start. Me and my mom are pretty picky and kind of annoying from a server stand point. But Ned walked us through literally everything with the MOST patience and genuine care. He brought us tasters for our mimosas. Went through the menu items with us one by one and actually helped us pick what we wanted. You can tell he cares about his guests and his job. Literally LOVE HIM! He made our day. We had come from Babs because the owner there was so rude we ended up leaving so it was a nice breath of fresh air. THANKS NED!! Hopefully see you soon!!
google avatar

Victor B.

Yelp
Six of us came for Sunday brunch. Overall, this rating is affected by our waiter (perhaps kitchen staff too), who was nice, but not proficient. He brought out a chicken-waffle order way ahead of the other orders. He then brought out the rest of the food with the exception of one who was made to wait longer. I ordered the egg/chorizo tacos, which were rather bland, so I had to request hot sauce. After I ate the tacos, we took note that the chicken-and-waffles had green salsa as a side item...we realized that the two orders of chicken had the salsa that was meant to go to the two orders of tacos at the table. This would have definitely helped the tacos taste better, especially since the distinctive taste of chorizo was pretty absent. I wouldn't discount visiting the restaurant again as others enjoyed their meals/drinks. Will update when I do.

Yelp
I was just recently at Fado and I'll have to say it was one of the best sports I e been to in a while. The atmosphere was very inviting, the food was Very good, and I had exceptional customer service from Erika. She took her time explain menu items, make good suggestions on what to order, and she gave amazing customer service. Ive been there a couple of times already & Ive tried both the wings and the fish and chips. The wings(Buffalo and lemon pepper) were plump, juicy, and fried to a perfect crispy as requested. The fish and chips were equally delicious and they have a really great selection of drinks and drink specials, as I took part of the bottomless Mule special and tried a few IPA's and stouts I've never seen before. If you're ever in midtown Atlanta, stop by and give this place a try. It's a great sports atmosphere and they even had a dj to come in and play music. I'll definitely be going back to visit very soon because football season is just around the corner.

Jackee O.

Yelp
Delicious Irish food, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Have gone two times in one week.

Catharine P.

Yelp
Wow! This place is just perfect! Stopped in for a quick bite and a pint on a Saturday afternoon and ended up staying for awhile. I think we tried every snack and not one disappointed. My favorites - salmon bites, boxty quesadilla and the soft pretzel. And the pints were cold!!! Great atmosphere to chill and relax! Highly recommend.

Angela J.

Yelp
Me and my husband recently visited Atlanta to see family and went in for dinner our server was Erika and she was spot on with her recommendations for us. She had recommended the lamb dip with cheese onions and mushrooms for me and I had never had lamb before and it was awesome. She made jokes with me and my family had us laughing and my husband loved the fish and chips. My sister in law couldn't stop raving about the wings and how Erika felt like family. Still talking about the burgers either. She was extremely impressive taking our orders without writing it down we had a lot of modifications and everything was right. I'll definitely be back when I come and she is the reason she was just the best warm friendly funny then the food. Don't usually write these but Erika definitely deserves her flowers for making this the best experience so if you see this Erika thanks.

Yelp
came in to watch the UGA game - they only had it on one TV and we're mainly playing the soccer game. a little disappointing considering someone told me it was a UGA bar, but not a big deal. drinks were pretty good and reasonably priced. the food was average - the chicken & waffles was nothing special and the wings were just okay. fun place but not sure i'd come back
