Google
Super cute place, delicious treats and boba, this is the best spot to hangout with friends and eat at. I would love to go again!!! The place is decorated so nicely showing Thai culture and sharing Thai food. I totally recommend this place. The workers were friendly and I was comfortable being there💖

Google
10 out of 10. The service was great both times that I've been. I probably pass by everyday but never noticed it. I saw my coworker going in and decided to check it out. I ordered the Garlic Chicken extra spicy the first time and the second time same thing but with shrimp and chicken. Both were awesome. Again the service was awesome and quick. I plan on going again this week. I will post more pics next time.

Google
Walked here tonight from my hotel. Super excited based on the reviews. The honeydew Boba was good and so were the corn patties. The massaman curry was the worst. It was not creamy and thick. It was thin and oily even after stirring.i just can't even eat it because it's just not good. Based on reviews I'm sure that they have some good dishes but the massaman is not it.

Google
This is a good Thai food I’m used to authentic Thai food and this comes close. #.16 Pad Se Ew was tasty. Also ordered the #.22 Pineapple Fried Rice which good also. The Boba the girls enjoyed too. Would recommend this for anyone who wants some Asian Thai food.

Google
Great quick lunch option downtown. I ordered the Thai stir fry and it was very good. They allowed you to choose your spice level. Friends had fried rice and pad Thai and both really like their dishes as well!

Google
Service was mid. We got a few drinks, but I personally had the Horchata Boba. I LOVE Boba and have had it from all over! This Boba was subpar. It tasted watered down , so minimal to no flavor. The tapioca was also less dense than I typically like. Not sure if I'll return.

Google
Quaint place in the downtown area. Nice Asian Theme. Beautiful artwork. Nice Boba and great food. Must stop by when on the west end station stop.

Google
Good location. Close to DART station. Staff are helpful. Seemed like a popular workday lunch spot for locals. But I didn't enjoy my Pad Thai at all. I asked for 2 stars but it had no spice at all and was bland. It seemed like the noodles were not properly drained when they put the spices so it tasted watered down. Maybe I was just used to the pad Thai from the West Coast.

Yelp
great Food!!! love the Shrimp fingers very tasty! very clean and friendly employees The mango Boba is also very refreshin.

Yelp
This place was amazing. I loved the pad se ew. Definitely a little hole in the wall but with a very aesthetically pleasing style with great decor. The service was great and they were quick with it, staff were very friendly. I hope everyone in Dallas tries this place cause it's a must.

Yelp
The best reason to go to Family Thais is the food, which is very good and reasonably priced for this part of town. I'm not an expert in Thai food, but the food tastes great. The portions are fairly large. This is not a fancy place. You order and pick up your food at the counter. It's also fairly small.

Jason C.

Yelp
It's fine for Texas but this is not good Thai food. That's a bold statement and I am not the arbiter of what is or isn't Thai, but this did not meet expectations at all. We had fried rice, pad see ew, and pad thai. Across the board the prevailing flavor was "sweet." Really did not get the balance of sour/salty/bitter/sweet/heat that excellent Thai food is known for. Perfectly edible but if you are used to really good Thai food, you will be disappointed. The location is very convenient in downtown Dallas, right next to a DART station. Limited seating inside but people generally do not hog tables. It really pains me to give this 2 stars because the service is very friendly and the shop is run very efficiently to deliver food hot and fast.

Yelp
Family Thais Asian Bistro is one of my favorite locations to visit while staying in Downtown Dallas. It's a cozy space located right by the DART Westend Station, and the Westend area. It has takeout, or a variety of seating options, including one long table that can accommodate a group. One simply walks up to the counter and places one's order. They have all the Thai favorites, and they say their bestseller is their Pad Thai Noodles. I'm fond of their glass noodles and curry noodles. For the timid, I recommend their Thai Fried Rice or Pineapple Rice. There's lots of other curries and stir fry dishes to enjoy. The appetizer menu is strong as well, and my favorite here is the beautiful chicken wings (so saucy). One can order dishes vegan, or with a variety of proteins. Chicken and pork are lowest cost, but splurging on mixed seafood isn't much more. For Dallas, all of their dishes are very nicely priced. The other thing one must choose is the spice level. 1 is mild, 2 is nicely spiced, 3 is dang hot, 4 is intense heat, and 5 is Thai Hot (and should be reserved for professional Chili Heads). The other great thing to try here is their excellent menu of teas and related fruit drinks! These range from slushes, to fruit teas. Boba and jellies can be added. This results in a amazing variety of drinks to enjoy. I could spend a lot of time trying things from this menu. Like the food, these drinks are also very reasonably priced. You can pick up takeout ordered from their online menu, or have it brought to you by a delivery service. However, I suggest you should go have a sit down meal and enjoy the ambience of the restaurant. It has great decor to put you in the mood for your meal.

Yelp
This was a to go dinner. So, no service or atmosphere review. The spring rolls were good but very large like egg rolls. The sauce was yummy! The chicken satay what a weak flavor and was dry. However, the peanut sauce was amazing! The fried rice with pork had a rich flavor. I swapped out with brown rice. They forgot to add soy sauce in the bag.

Carla L.

Yelp
Very yummy tom kha soup and pad se ew. Also enjoyed the stir fried vegetables with beef. I would definitely come back!

Kelly S.

Yelp
I ordered via door dash last night without looking on Yelp. Note that I'm here to drop my review, I'm shocked with how many stars they have. I ordered pad Thai, pad se ew, massaman curry, crispy spring rolls, and then a razmatazz and blueberry breeze. I got all the food 2 stars. As expected the curry was a bit spicier but 2 stars in the noodle dishes tastes like no spice to me. I love Thai food esp pad Thai and different curries...with as much money and how many things i ordered i am highly disappointed. Also- why do they give you only the tiniest thing of rice with the curry? Pretty sure the rice is the cheapest thing on their end... The drinks were really good but very sweet. The spring rolls were fine- hard to mess those up. Really disappointed in the flavor on the curry and noodles. They could all use some fish sauce, lime juice and maybe some sweet chili sauce or something. The flavor was super flat and disappointing.

Tiffany B.

Yelp
After seeing such good reviews and the award of best Thai in Dallas I had high expectations. Unfortunately I was disappointed. I order the drunken noodles to go. Small portion compared to other Thai restaurants. I ordered mild but it was definitely spicy. About a level 3 I would estimate so too hot for my son to eat with me which is why I ordered mild. Noodles were sticking together. Lastly Drunken noodles should have Thai basil, no basil so it didn't taste like drunken noodles. Not a bad taste but not what I was wanting. I was disappointed.

Karen B.

Yelp
This is a hidden away little restaurant with a gorgeous entrance and a great selection of food. The pad Thai was well seasoned and tasty, as was the tofu fried rice. The wontons in the soup were perfect; the broth was a on the salty side. The chicken satay was flavorful but came out with part of the chicken hot and the other cool. It felt a bit short staffed, but they were pleasant and efficient.

Justin M.

Yelp
My go to place for Thai food! The staff is wonderful and remember you each time you visit. They have speciality drinks too like bobas and milk teas. They have a non dairy tea called a watermelon patch that is my go to drink. The curry is always great! And they have lots of vegan options including vegan meat substitutions.

Official M.

Yelp
Very delicious drink! I would recommend this place highly for drink and food coming into down town Dallas you'll love it here

Matt B.

Yelp
Very tasty Thai food, with tons of vegan options, though on the expensive side. I arrived around 7:30pm for dinner. You order at the front and they call out your order when ready. I got the green papaya salad ($8 plus tax) to start, and the massaman curry with Beyond Beef ($17 plus tax) as my main, which comes with rice. I got both at 4/5 spiciness, which was quite spicy. The salad was very nicely done, balanced perfectly in sweetness, acidity, and spice. Nice stuff. 4.5/5 The curry was very well-done but on the smaller side for the price, and the rice could've been a bigger portion to soak up the very liquidy curry. Flavour-wise, everything was excellent; and the tenderness of the "beef" was really damn impressive. Friendly service, and I love how accommodating and knowledgeable they are about veganism. Highly recommended.

Sophie A.

Yelp
Th boba and macaroons my family had were absolutely delicious! It was a very cozy, cute stop that I definitely recommend taking. The wonderful people serving us were very friendly and fast! #FamilyThaisAsianBistro #buzzybooth

Yelp
I was in Dallas for work and stuck in my hotel room at lunch time. So, I picked this restaurant off Yelp and ordered for delivery. I tried the pad see yew with chicken and got it one level below Thai spicy. It wasn't spicy at all - for me - but it was very tasty, hot, and fresh. I also ordered the wings and they were good. Tasty, hot and fresh. I recommend!

Kellie B.

Yelp
It's like they add water to the sauce . I used to visit family Thais quite frequently. Every time I go the sauce gets more watery & this last time the sauce was the worst it's ever been. I got the peanut sauce w broccoli, it came with 5 measly pieces of tofu & water sauce, it looked very bad. Service is always meh, I can usually deal with it but not when the food looks like this

Chelsea O.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch with coworkers - it's a smaller spot so be prepared to have to take away your food. The line moves quick and the food comes out in good time. We grabbed a spot and we're able to eat in there. Everything was pretty good, not had big of portions you might get at other places. Would recommend as a lunch spot.

Michael L.

Yelp
Stopped over here to eat after visiting the Reunion Tower. Nice small place in the west end about 12 mins to walk. Ordered the calamari appetizer and entrees for two. The yellow curry and Pad See Ew were pretty tasty. Had horchata boba tea- that was great! The food was prepared quick and fresh. It was a lot of good food!

Joyce M.

Yelp
Back for a 3rd time. I decided to try their Bahn Mi. Although there isn't as much pork as I'd like, this sandwich definitely hit the spot. Baguette was warm, crust crispy making a decent vessel for the fillings. Love all the pickled radish and carrots and that it was chock full of cilantro, stems and all. I didn't omit the pate. Glad I kept it on, not over powering at all. Gave it that authentic flavor my tastebuds were looking for. Thai Iced Tea, solid.

Brittny A.

Yelp
This used to be my go to place for pad Thai amongst other things. Unfortunately the last 3 times I've ordered, my order has been wrong, items have been missing or my food was not prepared as instructed. Super disappointing because there was a time where everything was spectacular.

Chris C.

Yelp
The food and drinks at this location are fantastic! It's my favorite Thai restaurant in all of Dallas. I started ordering delivery from this restaurant during the height of the pandemic and finally dined in for the first time in March. My favorite dish is Pad Woon Sen and out of the 25 times I've ordered from this restaurant, I've never had a bad meal. I also love the Wonton Soup and their handcrafted lemonades with popping bobas--they're delicious and refreshing! The only issue is street parking around the restaurant is very limited. If you're lucky to find a street parking space, it's 60 cents for 15 minutes. There's plenty of parking lot parking, but some lots charge as much as $8.45, even if you're just picking up. However, parking fees aren't an issue for me, considering the deliciousness that awaits! I'm going to try and visit for the 26th time this weekend with my roommate and I can't wait!

Lucy H.

Yelp
came here for food after visiting the aquarium! it's so cute and cozy on the inside. i was so excited by all the options for food, drink and dessert on the menu. we got the dumplings, tom kha soup small, pad thai, and pineapple fried rice. the pad thai was so refreshing and delicious. i lived the bean sprouts and the noodles are solid. the dumplings were good however a bit dry. i really liked the tom yum soup it was very coconut-y, i do wish it were tangier. overall the food was really good and the place was so cute! a good find in dallas

Krista N.

Yelp
I ordered whatever the person at the counter suggested. It was great. I got a level 2 spice. Thank goodness. I think I like my stuff spicy, but 2 was a little rough. Yummy and delicious, but way spicy.

Marcus R.

Yelp
Best pad Thai I've found near downtown! Ordered the pad Thai and drunken noodles to give this place a try and so glad I did! Both dishes were extremely tasty and stayed warm even though it was a delivery order. Only complaint I have was that it was not as spicy as I was expecting; I got a 4/5, but it felt more comparable to medium spicy. The corn patties are a must here, and the Bona here is great quality as well!

Kenya R.

Yelp
3.5 stars- there was no one at the front; it took a minute for someone to get there. It was about 1:45. They close at 10, but they didn't have anymore fish cakes. I got the pork dumplings because they didn't have the fish cakes. Very good, but they were lukewarm. It wasn't busy; they should have been a lot warmer. I also got the chicken pad see ew. Delicious and piping hot. My husband tasted it because he had already eaten and decided to get some to go. If I were in the area, I would go, but I wouldn't make a special trip.

Ashleigh B.

Yelp
Excellent! I love pad Thai and this is one of the best I have found. My daughter got the Pad See Ew and said it is better than any of the local ones we have tried in Austin. Yummy boba, but the lychee mojito is delicious! We will go out of our way to grab dinner here next time we come through Dallas.

haleigh g.

Yelp
This place HIT. Got the horchata boba and the drunken noodles. We were at the att center and the food court just seemed eh. So we walked a little to get here. Well worth it, good prices too.

Diane B.

Yelp
Good food, freshly cooked to order. Comfortable atmosphere to sit and enjoy lunch or dinner.

Side W.

Yelp
Panang curry chicken was a watery, greasy mess. See photo. The taste was just ok.. That was half of the grease sitting on top and rest was the watery. It had a hint of chicken. I could literally count the pieces. There were like five thin slices. My food was not ready when I got there because they forgot to prepare it so the preparation was rushed. Because they were rushed they didn't close container well and some spilled in my bag. I think they gave me extra rice for my troubles. Who wants extra rice? Wouldn't even have commented on that because things happen but this is not the trouble of trying to find the place. Spring rolls were good.

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Corn Patties: Good flavor, very different. I preferred it with the vinegar sauce than the peanut sauce. 3/5 Pad Thai: A little dry to my liking. Orders a spicy level 4, as you can see you see no spice in my noodles. I see no red color feature or chili flakes anywhere seeds nothing. 1/5 Drunken Noodle: Very good brown sauce flavor. Ordered a spicy level 3, and AGAIN NO SPICE. 3/5 the flavor was good enough to surpass there being no spice. Thai noodle soup: We ordered the beef and meatball. Broth lacked flavor when mixed with the noodles. I would've preferred Pho. 1/5

Ashanti W.

Yelp
This place was PACKED for lunch! (But with good reason!) It's a small establishment so not much seating but the food is good enough for the sacrifice! Order ahead if you choose this time of day (11:30-1p peak it appeared) We tried an appetizer of the pork Shumi dumplings to start. They were OK, a little too dense and the filling lacked a bit of salt. The accompanying sauce saved it though. But the star of our show was the drunken noodles with beef which was flavor packed! The steak was silky and tender and it was filled with delicious, sautéed to perfection vegetables! Definitely a winner. Also had the Tom Khai soup which had a heavier tamarind-like base than others we've had, providing a more pronounced sourness that we liked Overall, great little hideaway spot that brings the flavor!!

Vanessa P.

Yelp
Food was great!!!! I eat a lot of Thai, and I will say that this place is my new favorite. Level 4 spice has a nice, perfect flavor. I wouldn't go any lower unless you want bland tasting food. I ordered the fried rice at a level 3, and I regretted it. HOWEVER, it was all still very satisfactory. Oh, and the crispy spring rolls.... BEST IVE EVER HAD. They are so thick and filled with a large amount of filling.

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
Oh, it's counter service! Didn't realize that till I walked in. There's a line behind me. Hmmm, felt rushed, went with my standard Thai dishes from their menu board. Only then after ordering did I see a stack of paper menus at a side table, darn it. Never mind! A great to-go dinners or lunch spot here makes. Most impressed I was with their "Pineapple Fried Rice with Shrimp", tasty bites of rice, shrimp, cashews, fried eggs, & raisins, yum. Clean tasting were the rest of the dishes, plain "Chicken Satay" and creamy "Green Curry with Beef". Definitely recommending at least 4 level of spiciness if you're like me who wants heat, yeah. Friendly was the counter service. Busy they are with takeout orders. Delightful interior. Nice neighborhood spot. Support local business, yes. CHEERS!

Susan K.

Yelp
This place is so good! Hands down the best Thai food I have had anywhere -- seriously. It was fresh. Hot. Not greasy or full of MSG. We got the spring rolls - they are very big and better than any I have ever had. We are vegan and they have vegan options. Vegan shrimp in the drunken noodles were superb! I got the Pad Thai with the 5 Thai Heat -- it was just delicious. We went back the very next day to have same meals again. I will always go there when I am in Dallas.

Kennedie P.

Yelp
The restaurant is cute right down town. I ordered the crab fried rice and it was not worth the $16. I'm not sure about the rest of the food but that crab fried rice wasn't good. It smelled like dog food and pee and it looked like they used imitation crab instead of real crab. The service was quick and they were nice I just can't say the 1 thing I got was good at all.

Charity Y.

Yelp
I stood in line for 10 mins...was seen by 2 people behind the counter and no one ever came to take my order. I had to walk to the other end of the counter and ask to be helped, they said one minute and then never came over. Guess they don't need my business.

Aradhna A.

Yelp
Overall Asian food leaves much to be desired in Dallas. I was pleasantly surprised by family Thais bistro. The food was good and the environment was casual! They have a nice decor. The decor is not plagued by that type of style that frequents most establishments - sterile and Instagrammable. You order at the counter and sit where you'd like. Someone brings your food over to you. I got bubble tea, which was decent but not extraordinary. I LOVED the Tom kha soup and will love to next time get a large portion. I got the drunken noodles at a spice level of 3. I like spicy food but this was a little intense. Still a super yummy dish and would highly recommend. Glad I took a trip down here!

Liz C.

Yelp
First time at this spot...the food is made fresh right in front of you! It's a small place, but very clean and welcoming. We went later in the evening, but it stayed busy either with walk ins or take out pick ups.

Glory K.

Yelp
Excellent food, great service and delivery to our hotel. We had Tom Kah soup, Pad Thai, Fresh Spring Rolls with shrimp and Broccoli with Peanut Sauce. The crushed peanuts in the broccoli were lovely. We love Thai food and were happy to find such a gem on our trip to Dallas. Food was packaged well and arrived in the amount of time stated. If we lived here, we too would be regulars!

Kenny C.

Yelp
I was looking for a new Thai place to try out and stumbled into this place. I ended up ordering the fresh rolls appetizer, pad see eew, and Thai fried rice. The rolls were decent and stuffed with a good amount of lettuce. I was told the restaurant was out of flat noodles (weird because that seems to be such a common ingredient) so they substituted thin noodles in the pad see eew. The thin noodles were over cooked and hard so the entire dish wasn't great. The Thai fried rice was just OK too - a bit dry for my preference. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the food at this place so probably won't be back. The guy who took my order, Hector, was super friendly and helpful though.

Kelly Thu P.

Yelp
I'm disappointed that the rating was high while the food didn't correlate. The pineapple fried rice was fair but the pad se ew was sooooooo sweet that it was almost inedible. I had some because I was very hungry and didn't want to waste my money. So if you want authentic Thai food, this is not it.

Catalina M.

Yelp
Very good Thai food and very well priced! We had the food delivered since Dallas is still with shelter in place, and I can't wait to try it in the restaurant. Flavors were great and very fresh! Spring rolls were great! Glad to support a local restaurant! It was very sweet that the owner sent a note thanking us for the order.

Sumee V.

Yelp
Awesome taste and lovely spices.. will definitely recommend.. service was fast and friendly

Brian C.

Yelp
Solid, no frills Thai place. We did appetizers but would love to return for a full meal.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
The food is absolutely delicious. My sister is half Thai and considers this comfort food when she doesn't wanna cook. It was an easy quick order process I simply called ahead. You will not regret eating there. It can just be kind of difficult to figure out where to park your car.

Charlene F.

Yelp
Ordered dinner delivery from Family Thai the other night. All of our dishes were absolutely delicious! Hubs got the Thai fried rice with chicken. The kiddo got Pad Thai with chicken. I had the Pad Thai with beef and shrimp. When I tell you this was the BEST Pad Thai I've had....it was sooo good. I literally ate it all and wanted to order it again the next night but hubs was all like "calm down". Lol. Seriously, the dishes were very good. I see reviews that say it didn't have a lot of flavor. I guess we ordered on the perfect night, because the flavor wasn't lacking at all. We also had the crispy spring rolls and they were huge and perfectly crispy. 2 of those made it into my belly too. We'll definitely be ordering from here again.

Chad B.

Yelp
Fantastic food! We had tasty spring rolls, Pad See Ew and Massaman curry; it was all delicious, and good sized portions. They were very fast: 2 minutes for appetizers and 5 for our entrees. Servers were very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was clean and nice inside. We were just passing through, but we will eat here again if we come back through Joplin. Thank you, Family Thais Asian Bistro, for a great visit!

Michael J.

Yelp
I am sick at home looking for places near me that deliver. Says they deliver but after spending 20 minutes scrolling menu, making selection, this site like many others who say delivery, does not deliver. I know their food is good, it is by my office. BUT update your website before I waste my time.

Robyn S.

Yelp
I ordered delivery from here on a particularly stressful day at work and this was the perfect antidote. The dirty chai bubble tea was amazing. The Tom kha soup was a little light on the shrimp but the flavor was intense and delicious. I ordered spring rolls to go with it and they were huge! The peanut sauce was amazing. I also ordered the corn patties which are excellent reheated in the air fryer. The sauce I could have lived without but all of the other food was excellent. I hope to be able to go in person soon!
