When you walk in, the restaurant is cozy and inviting. It's nice and quiet inside and as you walk in, you can see their wood fired oven. It's quite nice and they do indeed put it to good use.
I found the service to be just a tad slow. We went in on a Monday afternoon when there were few people in the restaurant and it took an extra couple of minutes for our drinks and appetizers to arrive. That said, it was with the wait.
I ordered a peach sangria that was delicious and was a good amount for what I paid. It was happy hour, so the craft cocktails were priced at $10. Mine was wonderful and worth every penny.
For our appetizer, we ordered their stuffed mushrooms. They were mushrooms stuffed with artichoke, fontina cheese, creamed spinach and herbs. They arrived with some sort of cream sauce as well. The mushrooms were tender and full of flavor. We got four mushrooms with ours, and they're big enough to share with a max of four people. Highly recommend.
For mains, one member of my party ordered their pepperoni overload which comes with Italian pepperoni, crushed tomato, mozzarella and pecorino cheese. The crust was crispy and delicious, having that wood fired taste to perfection. It was perfectly cooked and one of the best pizzas that I've had in the area, for sure. If there's one thing that you must try here, it's their pizzas!
My mother had the spaghetti and meatballs made in a marinara sauce and once again it was spot on! The sauce and meatballs were well seasoned, and the texture of the meatballs were perfect. Pasta was perfectly cooked as well.
My sister had their pesto cream tortellini. Again, absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked.
The one slight disappointment that I had was with their fettuccine Alfredo. I ordered mine with chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the cream sauce used was incredibly delicious. The pasta, however, was a bit too chewy, leading me to believe that it may have been slightly undercooked. Al dente pasta has a bit of a chew, but this was just extra chewy on the verge of feeling doughy. So if they can get the pasta right on this dish, it will be a home run.
One thing to note is that they tend to get busy in the evening hours, particularly on weekends. Sometimes you can't find parking in the parking lot. So parking is an issue here. Bear that in mind as you plan your trip here.
It is a great restaurant overall. I'd recommend going for the pizzas, as they've got a wood fired oven and they come out great from there. The pasta is good and sometimes great, but their Alfredo pasta needs to be cooked better. I heard the server say that they get their pasts dough locally rather than making it in house. Still good overall, though. I recommend it, but I would lean toward the pizzas when dining here.
