The 50 Best Restaurants in India | Bon Appétit

"An 18-cover chef’s-table restaurant set on a 37-acre farm where the menu is driven entirely by what grows on-site and is cooked on a wood-fire oven and pit-stove; menus change monthly and reveal seasonal, farm-forward dishes such as Malabar oysters, Milagu seaweed broth and floral mead apple sorbet." - ByArundhati Ail

Truly an A-grade experience. Each course is a work of art and tastes as good as it looks. This is where you take someone to show them how great the local ingredients are.

This was my first proper culinary experience. Every dish was original creation. I could see the research and perfection in every dish. Scallop cake with coconut milk based sauce had a very familiar feeling to me. It tasted a lot like my hometowns coconut based fish curry! Pumpkin starter(forgot the details) was deliciously cruchy. Every layer had its own taste. Cloud with ants had amazing texture. The smell of mango leaves and fire ants brought back memory from childhood getting bitten by fire ants whenever we tried to climb mango or guava tree. Mutton dish with thin crunchy layer covered in colocasia leaves was so yum. Although i had reservation eating a colocasia leaf since i tried once in my childhood. The itch still persist in my throat. I was a little disappointed with pan seared fish. The crust was little chewy. Would have liked more if it was crispy. Apart from that flying fish roe really surpised me with the crunchiness. This dish would have been fire if the fish crust was crispy.

Farmlore was a wonderful experiential dining experience. The menu was carefully and thoughtfully curated with select seasonal and fresh produce. Everything tasted unique and delicious with flavour combinations that you might not have heard of (like chocolate, beets and tamarind!) Care was taken that every dish was served at the appropriate temperature. The chefs were friendly and explained each and every dish articulately. They were considerate of previously stated dietary restrictions and had vegetarian options as well. However, as part of the non-vegetarian menu, the proteins can range from crab to duck to lamb. We went during the mango season and the farm was filled with beautiful mango orchards. I would recommend having an open mind while visiting this place. Reach on time and enjoy!

Sublime experience. The taste, the presentation, ambience - all packaged in a ten course meal worth savoring every bite! Highly recommended, great for couples or small groups. Edit: reading through some of the negative reviews, thought I'd add for good measure - the staff were exceedingly polite. The website clearly mentions the reason why coming on time is advised. Because timing is critical - each course is carefully prepared with temperature and texture of the ingredients intact. I hope people understand why the criticism is unfair and a fine dining experience is very much a chef's curation.

Travelled from north Bangalore to this place n was worth the experience. In the middle of mango groves is this quiet place. They only have 18 seats so plan in advance. We chose a 5 course meal. They took our dietary preference in advance. The chef did a great job explaining the dish n how to eat. The cutlery was fancy but not very functional. Dishes were unique.. from the taste I couldn't really guess as no one flavor was dominating.. loved the veg starters. Soup was at right temperature.. did a whole lot of good for my throat. Buns were fluffy For the main course we did seared brinjal with barley.. unique combination. A bit on the salty side. Dessert was yummm.. overall a great experience. Would love to go back again for the 10 course meal

Truly theatrical experience but comes at a cost. It's a one of a kind experiential 5 course and 10 course meal concept with set menu, highlights being the location (amidst a 5 acre mango farm), knowledgeable staff with myriad experience in different cuisines who churn out different dishes everyday in 'masterchef' style, and ofcourse the food itself. Personally loved the inter play of flavours in all dishes mostly being a hit but a miss in a case or two. Very relaxed environment. Very calm. The whole place screams of organic, finest sourced ingredients including locally produced in the farm itself, best of the best staff who are very courteous and chic interiors. Suggest to go with open mind and enjoy the experience. Bonus if you get a chef s table, you can the see the preparation right in front of your eyes.

Had a great experience in Farmlore. My 1st fine Dine-in experience and it was just amazing. Visited Farmlore for dinner, it was a 10 course menu (5300/- per ticket). The dishes, plating, ambience everything's was great. The chefs & staffs were super friendly explaining about the food and place in a detailed manner. We even got a small kitchen tour at the end. We were not able to see their farm since we went for dinner. !! Ensure to reach on time !! Dinner 18:30-22:00 (be there before 19:00 so that you wont miss any of the dish). So that you can have a wholesome experience. PS: Don't mis their Gummy bear candies.😜 Cheers guys.!!🍻
