Great place with beautiful Persian vibe and Persian songs. The food was good and big portions, and we loved the remaining part taken home more than dining in the restaurant (TMI). The rice was too dry to my taste, but still, I loved it, and people were nice. There seemed to be a lot of seating available, and the design was very nice. I loved the Farsi decor. I didn't like the smell, whatever it was, and that's the only downside to my visit.

Disappointing quality, poor presentation and not authentic. I ordered online and was immediately let down by the presentation, Koobideh snapped just to fit the tray. It felt careless and even disrespectful to the cuisine. Unfortunately, taste did not deliver either: • Koobideh was very dry and tasted more like a burger, definitely not authentic • Tahdig was soggy and kind of bland • No raw onion included which is standard in Persian cuisine

It was my first time visiting and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. The host was also very kind and accommodating to our needs. The koobideh was as good when we took it home to have the next day. Mast-o-moosir (yogurt and shallots) was one of the best I’ve ever had. Their “house” yogurt and mint drink was very tasty. also My friend did not like the chicken kabab.

Very nice and clean restaurant. I really liked the appetizer ( Mirza-ghasemi), main food we ordered Joojeh, koobideh and barg. Unfortunately I was not impressed with koobideh. Joojeh and barg were better for sure. The service was great and done in appropriate time and we were told the estimate time too which was amazing and accurate enough. Overall I recommend the restaurant for Persian food if you like.

It’s a very nice Mediterranean place, the staff are very nice and polite! The food was very good. We always order from here for to go! Everyone likes the flavor and taste of these kinda food! Definitely try the crispy rice with stews, my favorite dish is Kebab Kobideh which is the ground beef Kebab! Also Gheimeh Stew is so delicious!

Farsi Cafe is just okay. The atmosphere is nice and the presentation was solid, but the food didn’t quite deliver. The kabob was a bit dry and the rice lacked the rich flavor you’d expect from a Persian spot. Service was polite but slow. It’s not a bad place, but for the price, I was hoping for more. Might give it another try, but not in a rush.

Very friendly staff who helped us pick what we wanted on the menu. There was also live music playing all the classics on his guitar which was a nice touch. The place seemed a bit old and overdue a makeover however. The food was pretty good. Things I wouldn’t recommend though are the olives and pickles to start with. They are in some spice/sauce which I really didn’t like which was a shame. For the main course I got the leg of lamb which was delicious and literally fell off the bone which was nice. It came with a side of green rice (cooked in dill). Overall I would say the food is a bit overpriced for what it is, but still worth a visit if you’re in the area looking for Persian/Iranian food.

The food is great but the restaurant smells like urine. When you step into the restaurant you get slapped with the aroma and It’s coming from the restroom which has an open door always, dont know why its not being kept up though. When we asked the waiter what this strange smell was he kind of responded in a way that implied maybe its our smell.

This place sets the bar for me for Persian food! I don't have a lot of options in NorCal, so this was a treat. tried the ghormeh sabzi, tahdig, and a lamb shank dish. all were phenomenal. the sabzi was flavorful and rich, the tahdig had a nice crunch, and the lamb shank - well, it's very difficult for lamb shank not to be amazing. will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

This is a painful review to write, but one I feel I must. I understand that a while ago the ownership of this place has changed, so perhaps that the reason for my poor experience tonight. I hope the new owner takes this into consideration. We went in at about 5 PM tonight, when the place only had one other couple in it. We had a pleasant chat with our waitress who took our order and did very well on everything ordered. We got some Tahdig with a couple of stew. The stews where fine, but the actual tahdig was soft and with no crisp at all. We figured we're too early so we didn't really paid much attention. I also asked for a glass of hot water with fresh mint, and got exactly what I asked for. So far so good. Then our food order came out. At a persian restaurant the first thing I look for is cornish hen, aka Jooje Kabab. I feel like how the dish is made is telling of their standards. How they cut the hen, how the marinade it, season it, cook it to make sure it is cooked throughly, and that it is still juicy and not dry. The color, the finish and presentation says a lot about the chef. So if the dish is on the menu, that's what I would try, and that is what I did. When I got the dish, at first I thought I got the wrong food. I kept looking at the pieces of the hen and could not make sense of it. There is generally a pair of wings, breasts, thighs and drumsticks. The breasts are always the largest pieces and most notable. This dish seemed strange. I could not tell the pieces apart other than the drumsticks. I kept shoveling around the pieces, and noticed two small pieces of the bottom part of a breast cut. That's when I took out my phone and took the pictures. We asked our waitress over and pointed out the issue, and she started explaining that "generally the small chicken is cut into pieces and cooked", and when I asked her to show me the breasts she just smiled and didn't have much to say, and at the end she said "I will let the owner know". Eating the pieces was as disappointing as the presentations. I feel like some of the pieces where previously cooked and just reheated and VERY dry. I finished the chickens as much as I could so I can inspect the bones to see if I have missed anything. You be the judge. What you see as the "breasts" are the small cartilage of bone breast which was about 1/4 of what the actual breasts supposed to be. This is just about the most disappointing Cornish Hen plate I have EVER seen. Not sure what the chef was thinking when cutting these pieces, and how could anyone accept this as a plate of cut Cornish hen. Years ago, this used to be a place I would get food from for my office employees about twice a week, and one or two nights for home. It is so sad to see how their standards have be lowered so much.

Me and my family usually go to Flame for Persian food, but we wanted to try a new spot. It was pretty empty when we got there, so we got seated immediately. The decor is nice, and they have live music which is always a plus. From someone that eats persian food often, I can say these things: Tahdig: Their Tahdig was delicious, it didn't stay on the plate very long. It was crispy and the rice was flavorful. We got it with a side of Ghormeh Sabzi. Tahchin: It was okay. The rice was good, but the chicken was dry and flavorless. Rack of Lamb: It was good, but I've had better. I got it with Baghali Polo was was very good. Beef Koobideh: Now, this was the star of the show! Their koobideh was amazing, full of flavor and melts in your mouth. I always get koobideh when I go to a Persian restaurant and I can tell you this one is worth trying. They had an option to order half plate with one skewer, which I liked because I can never finish the whole thing in one sitting. Parking is hard to find, as most of the spots nearby have a 1 hour limit. They also did not have any fish, they said they ran out and it was only 6PM which was a bit disappointing. Overall, I'd give this place a high 3/low 4.

I took my friend here for his birthday, and we had Sani kebab, which is steak kebab, and it was really really delicious. Occasionally, I order from them. I get green rice with Lima or fava beans and the ground beef kebab which my dog loves it when I share it with him, very, very good and the portion is great for the price, I usually have enough for lunch the next day if I order dinner. I also like a dish called TAH - CHIN which is rice with yogurt and chicken baked in a sort of pie or cake very delicious. The people that work at this café are super, super accommodating and nice, so I definitely say that this is a great place if you want to eat Persian food and do you want to vibe some good people!

Best service I've experienced in a long time. The staff here are so friendly and welcoming. I felt like family. The food is so delicious and great to share a few dishes among friends. We really enjoyed our experience here and will be back soon!

Farsi Cafe is one of my favorite Persian kabobs on Westwood, compare to other Persian restaurants the location is pretty clean and nice. Their service at the restaurant is fast and wonderful, however every-time I ordered through Uber, they miss something. I really love the "Soltani", it's very tasty and well marinated. Their "kashke bademjan" is delicious but extremely oily. the "Joojeh Kabob" is also well marinated and very delicious. The "Chef's salad" is one of the best salads I had at a restaurant, really good. my least favorite here is their "Tahdig",, it's covered in oil, in fact it has too much oil that you cant taste the tahdig itself.

Undercooked chicken, no flavor in food, very slow service. Save your money and appetite for somewhere else.

I am heading to a friend's place later and didn't want to arrive for dinner empty handed so I came here to grab some delicious fruit pastries with berries. The food, tea, pastries and all the other great things you can get here are delicious! It's a very casual place with tables but today I didn't stay and got my pastries to go. Fresh pastries, cakes and cookies all very beautifully done and delicious! Parking is validated for only 20 mins. It's about $6 for an hour of parking in the lot in case you don't find meter parking.

We're gonna be regulars here.... delicious, fresh, quality Persian food, which is very difficult to find. The abgoosht was our favorite; complex in flavor, not greasy, very generous portion... I finished it all! The stews were also excellent; very authentic and perfectly balanced. We all noted how stellar the service was... super polite and gracious. Nice music, relaxed atmosphere. We really enjoyed our meal and experience.

Best Persian food in LA! Not to be missed. Service is also great. Must try for sure! The ghormeh sabzi was super fresh.

I don't have many other Persian food experiences to compare this to, but I know good food when I eat it...and Farsi cafe did not disappoint! Just bury me with that lobia polo, covered in mast o mousir! As a USC Trojan (Fight on!) you'll only ever catch me in Westwood for this spot lol.

The koobideh was ass. It was too powdery. The service here is pretty weak as well. I would not be visiting again.

The food here was really good. - Pita type Bread comes out for free with butter. - Ashe Reshteh: first time having this and it was a delicious noodle stew. Very fragrant and tasty. - Beef Koobideh: my go to and was done well here. A little on the pricey side, but they also give a large portion so it felt worth it - Chicken Boneless Thigh: good but didn't stand out. just solid Overall I'd rate this place a high 4 low 5. The main thing that was unpleasant about our experience was what was going on inside: 1) They had some customers with dogs. They weren't do anything, but I noticed them go into the kitchen. That seems unsanitary to me. 2) The entire street this cafe is on is no parking 4-7 apparently. Someone in my party parked on the street right outside and the waiter came over saying "You're getting a ticket!" but it was too late. I don't know why they wouldn't warn every patron who comes in that the entire street is no parking 4-7, it seems like a common courtesy especially since they definitely knew about it. These two things knocked it down for me but it wasn't a bad place. Just a few strange things...

I am a serious fan of their kashk o bademjoon! Like I love it so much that I almost forgot to take a picture of it and remembered only when 2 bites were left!!!They've got some real good food here with such a big variety! However, not all are up to my standard to be honest. Yesterday we ordered Kashk o bademjoon, cuz I need it in life, got shirazi salad which was overpriced and not that tasty honestly wanted to order tahchin but sadly they were out, substituted that with zereshk polo ba morgh which turned out to be very juicy and delicious, and ordered loobiapolo which was so bland and tasteless! Regarding the service I've figured out after a few experiences that I've had here that really depends on the time of the day; during peak hours they provide a much better service and otherwise the quality of service is not high. Overall it's fair to say that the experience you'll have here could vary based on multiple factors!! Some meals are also overpriced while some are reasonable!

I'm Persian so when I tell you I know Persian food. The food was alright. I'm a vegetarian so it can be hard to find a good vegetarian Persian spot. I ordered the gourmet sabzi and it was good. Not the best; very oily. The ash reshteh was good, but for me it could've used more kashk.

This place has amazing food. We use them for office party ! Looking forward for our next gathering !

I have to say... Farsi has to have one of the best bhargs I've had in a long time. The meat is flavorful and soft just as it should be. The mast o mousir was spot on... not too salty like other places we've tried in Westwood. Very happy with our visit.

The ambient is so relaxing and romantic good is great freshly made to the order. The owner was kind enough to explain to us how to order and which kabob goes well which what type of the rice My family and I enjoyed our dinner in the place so much I can't wait to go back and enjoy some tender chicken kabob and rice again.

We have dined at the Farsi cafe several times, and the food and ambiance has always being superb. In fact my husband loves celebrating his birthday there for several years. Also, when we have office events we order food from the cafe. We highly recommend this place the food is always freshly prepared and the quality never changes.

Hit or miss. Hit or miss. How about not putting old lol is polo in an order when it's old! Like why at $40 a plate do you guys suck so much. The only reason I order here is because two times out of three times it's fresh. Then the third time you really know how to screw your customers over. How about throwing away the kabob after you burn it instead of sticking in in the Uber Eats order. Ridiculous. How about making sure the bademjoon stew has come together and cooked before you send it out.

My husband and I walked into Farsi Cafe at lunch time and it was completely empty. We were told to sit where we wanted to and we then proceeded to wait 10 minutes for anyone to come to our table while there were at least 4 employees rotating in and out of the dining room; and making it worse, several of them made direct eye contact with us and yet never said anything. After placing our order, it took another 15 minutes just to receive our waters and sodas. The food, when it finally arrived, was good but not amazing; definitely not worth the price. My husband used to be a huge promoter for this restaurant but will now not return due to the bad service.

Amazing service, great food, nice environment to have a family dinner, or for any casual occasion. I was impressed by the portion size, I got the koobideh combo with beef and chicken, and for the price point and the serving size, I was pretty satisfied. Me and my dad ended up having to share the plate, because the portion was far too big for just one of us!

I have been to Farsi Cafe a few times. Love the Khourmeh Sabzi plates and Beef Kobediah sandwiches which are so good. Place is less expensive ,and you get bigger portions of food for your bang for your buck. Good menu choices, and the place is nice with good music here. I will be back for more.

Food was fresh and absolutely tasty. I highly recommend Tauchin which is my favorite dish now. Chicken tender kabob was cooked to perfection. Juicy and full of flavor. Their hummus is number one in town. Our host is explained to us that their hummus is made from scratch at the restaurant. In addition to the great quality of food, the restaurant ambience is welcoming and relaxing. I will definitely return to this place soon to enjoy some more healthy and fresh Mediterranean food.

Most ridiculous service, one waiter and one boss boy for 70 people. the owner can't handle this resturant. He is not willing to hire people. not stepping there.

Their chicken tender kabob is amazing. It's very juicy and flavorful. The best in town. Definitely will be returning to this amazing restaurant.

Very expensive, mediocre food, terrble atmospher. I requested a shishlik/barg chelakabab, substituting white rice with bvgatarian loobia polo, no drinks it cost me $47 and the meat was chewy.

We came here for lunch and enjoyed our meal! My favorite ones were saffron tahdig which was nicely done especially the crusted rice on top of regular basmati rice. The texture of the dish was just right with a two side small dishes of veggi fesenjhan and tomato based chickpeas. The baklava was delicious! There were four pieces and were served a bit too hot though but still they were smooth and delectable. The Persian ice cream sandwich was surprisingly good!

You guys Farsi cafe has the best ghemeh and gormeh sabzi I have ever had. Their halim is delicious too. The food is So delicious and tasty my husband and I cleaned our plates up we ate every bite. The aroma and taste was on point and very well made. Thank you Farsi cafe.

MOST DISGUSTING SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE. SMELLY FISH. I have been going here for 10 years but after the customer service I received, NEVER AGAIN. I ordered a grilled white fish to go, which is on their menu, when I got the order it was fried white fish. I called to let them know they got the order wrong and the so called "manager" said oh we don't even have a grill. Then I asked why they wouldn't have just told me that. The manager is by far the most low grade, low class unprofessional person I have ever encountered in hospitality. He accused me of lying. I have better things to do then fight w Farsi cafe on Christmas Eve. He basically said even though I ordered the grilled fish and they gave me the fried fish, he wouldn't refund me bc they don't have a grill and I was not told that over the phone. Not to mention it was the most smelly, no flavor piece of fish I've had. It looks nothing like the photo they have on there site. Save your money and go to taste of Tehran across the street for better quality food And the owner/staff are one of a kind.

After many years we had a chance to come back. Very friendly and clean place. Food also delicious. We order Tahdigh and Kashkbademjan for appetizers and Soltani & Lamb Shank. All good. Thank you

Came here for a dinner with family based on a recommendation. We ordered a bunch of items from the menu, all food options were great. I got the beef soltanti kabob dish, which is a mix of their kubideh and barg kabobs. I also had the Salad Shirazi and Kashk O Bademjan appetizers we ordered. As someone who eats Persian cuisine a lot I enjoyed everything. Wait staff was attentive and helpful given how large our group was. I liked the vibe of the restaurant as well, gives you the feel of Persian culture I experienced in other places.

I ordered dinner from Farsi Cafe for my family last week. We tried chicken kabob, beef kobideh, eggplant and hummus. The food was well seasoned and delicious. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Please try this place and enjoy every bite!!

Guess this place has gone downhill. I've had some pretty good meals here in the past, but today I ordered the lunch special, chicken kabob with shirazi subbed for rice. I picked the "juicy" option, but let me tell you that this was the blandest, driest chicken I've ever tasted. There were three pieces, I had to toss the third one, and only ate the first two due to limited lunch break and starvation factors. And don't get me started on the shirazi. They just included a small container of not fresh (bottled) lemon juice on the side. Like seriously guys, you couldn't season the shirazi? If you wanna spend almost $30 with tip and get three dry pieces of bland chicken and unseasoned shirazi, then this is the place, I guess.

Excellent food which is always consistent. Great quality meat, chicken and vegetables. Great service which is a must in every restaurant. Very friendly staff. I'm offered a beverage every time I go to pick up my food. Ambiance is definitely better than most restaurants out there. They always have a music video playing on the TVs.

My food is okay. I like my lamb kabob the most. When asked, my friend said her food is alright too. But most importantly, I want to review the exceptional service here. My friend can be a Karen sometimes. She asked what the price would be of some kabob without the included rice. Then she changed her minds like 3 more times. I ordered a Chef's special combo. When I went to the restroom, the staff asked my friend if I was sure about my order because it is a huge portion. My friend said yes, I wanted leftover. She then waited for me to come out and asked me for sure. The staff was so patient on us. To note, we were the only customers in the restaurant on Wednesday 8pm. Maybe that was why but still.

Food was very tasteful! The chicken and beef kabobs are amazing! The humus was also delicious! There are plenty of Persian restaurants, but nothing compared to the delicious meal I enjoyed! Thank you Farsi cafe!

FOOD POISONING My family and I dined there on Sunday. Within a few hours we were all vomiting and super sick. The next day I called to let the restaurant know and I asked to speak to the manager or owner. Jonathan, one of the waiters said that he was the shift lead and that he was in charged. When I told him, he had zero concern and told me that the food didn't smell bad and that we ate it. I told him that I wanted to only speak to the owner or manager. He was very dismissive and rude. On Tuesday I called again and they had me call back several times. The last time I called in the afternoon, Jonathan came on the phone. He told me that he had called every single customer that was there on Sunday and that no one else got sick. He was super condescending, dismissive and told me in his words that the owner was too busy to talk to me and the manager wasn't there. He didn't care that we were sick, zero concern or apology. I told him to please have the owner call me and he said that the owner wouldn't because we probably drank something that made us sick elsewhere. To be clear, we eat Persian food weekly. It's my toddlers favorite food and he was the one that requested having Persian food that night. We have our regular restaurant, Darya, which we have been going to for years, well before my son was even born. We have tried pretty much every restaurant in the area too. This was the first time we tried this restaurant. To me what made everything worse was the rudeness from Jonathan who is just the waiter clamming to be in charged. Zero concern and honestly not even an "I'm sorry you all got sick or anything". My husband and son are still not 100% and until yesterday Tuesday they were both still sick. I had to take my son to the doctor as well since he is just a toddler. I do. Not recommend this place to anyone. More than anything, customer service is terrible and there are much better restaurants to dine at. Don't waste your money or time here. If the owner reads this, I'm still waiting g for you to call me. Jonathan has my information.

My go to Persian spot when I find myself back in the city of angels. I live in OC full time now, and it is so difficult to find quality Persian cuisine where I live, so when I'm in LA, Farsi cafe always satisfies my Persian food cravings. The saffron tahdig is amazing- the texture is perfect and it's not hard like other places, so I don't feel like I'm going to break one of my teeth when I eat it. The Gormeh Sabzi is to die for... the lamb is so tender and falls apart in your mouth and it goes perfectly with all of the ingredients in the stew. I also love the yogurt dip served with lavash. It's such a refreshing appetizer & the perfect snack for a hot summer day in Los Angeles. Highly recommend Farsi cafe if you enjoy Persian food.

Was there for the 3rd time. Food was good, prices were fair and the service was outstanding. Elizabeth who was our hostess was super professional with a wide smile on her friendly face. She's an asset to this restaurant. We'll be back soon.

I highly recommend this restaurant! I have been coming here for years; they have never disappointed me, and the staff is very friendly. The food is delicious. The food is amazing; I had the chicken kabobs with rice and hummus. The chicken is super juicy, and the hummus and rice are always freshly made. My family loves coming here; this place is super clean. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been going to Farsi Cafe several times and I can say that it is one of the best restaurants in Westwood. The staff are very friendly and the food is fresh and of high quality. I highly recommend it.

Food is very delicious, the chicken is so tender and the beef kabobs are delicious don't forget to add sumac! And can't leave out the hummus ! The service was great ! Will definitely be coming back !

This restaurant is a disgrace. My family has been ordering food from here for years. We decided to try a couple new dishes assuming that it would also be edible and good. We were assured that if we did not like the food that they would take it back. They also told us the fish was good because it was imported from Iran (this should have been the red flag but we trusted them). We were a party of 12 people, ordered plenty of appetizers and then entrees for every individuals. Two of us ordered the white fish, and we ordered a rack of lambs. The fish was disgusting, smelled like the bottom of the ocean and slimey. The rack of lambs was chewy and inedible. We told the server that the dishes were inedible and we wanted to order another dish as a replacement, that was actually MORE expensive. At first they said we weren't allowed to send it back. After telling them the food was not edible they called the owner "Hoosein Dai". Apparently this owner decided that he was going to return the 3 dishes, but not allow us to order any more food. We brought our entire prty here to treat them and we were told we weren't allowed to order more food?!!? Then we asked to speak to the owner, who was unavailable to speak to us because he was "in a very important meeting". Who has an important meeting on a Friday night at 8:23pm?????? We left HUNGRY AND NOT SERVED. will never come back here. Absolutely ridiculous, offensive, inappropriate and absolutely unacceptable. They are a restaurant tasked with the duty to feed people. If I got up and sat at another table, they would have served me.... This owner should be ashamed of himself. There are WAY better Persian restaurant: Darya, Sadaf, Rafi's Place, and TASTE OF TEHRAN WHO IS ACROSS THE STREET FROM FARSI CAFE. The restaurant has been completely empty since 7pm (see attached photo). In the Persian culture, hospitality is the most important, even more important than the food at times. This place has no hospitality and the food, while some dishes are good, isn't worth coming here to ruin your night and have average food.

The Chicken breast Kabob is very delicious and juicy. Oh the humus is so tasty. The service here was great. Would highly recommend to eat here.
