Famed Dim Sum Spot Sun Sui Wah Seafood Restaurant Is Coming to Bellevue - Eater Seattle

The Most Anticipated Seattle Restaurant Openings of Spring 2023 - Eater Seattle

"This high-end Indian restaurant chain was founded by mega-restauranteur Zorawar Kalra and has outposts in Dubai, London, and Canada; the Bellevue location will be Farzi’s first U.S. footprint. Everything about Farzi is big, showy, lavish, and on the verge of silliness: Even a London food critic who liked the food described it as 'palate-flooding' and 'hectic excess.' The executive chef at the Bellevue Farzi Cafe is Gaurav Chawla, who is promising to incorporate Northwest ingredients in the 'Farzified' traditional Indian dishes." - Harry Cheadle

London’s Best Modern Indian Restaurants | Eater London

"The curiously-named Farzi — the word means ‘fake’ in Urdu — is a renowned Modern Indian chain in India owned by Zorawar Kalra, the son of the late, legendary food expert Jiggs Kalra. It launched with fanfare in Piccadilly’s touristy Haymarket early in 2019; but the unusual choice of location gives it a casual walk-in-off-the-street, all-comers-welcome feel. There’s dark wood, bright lights, and shiny surfaces everywhere, including a glittery cocktail bar. Early reviews were lukewarm; but since then the chef has changed, and so has some of the menu. Recently appointed Nikhil Mahale’s cooking is vibrant, often thrilling, with layers of complex spicing in tamarind and coriander water that comes with pani poori; and Andhra-style red chilli and lentil chutney that makes ‘paneer popcorn’ moreish. Western menu staples like roast beef marrow, tuna tartare, and fish and chips have been given a masala makeover." - Sejal Sukhadwala

Had a great dining experience at Farzi Café in Bellevue! The chicken rice was super flavorful – tender chicken with aromatic spices, and the rice was perfectly cooked. The deconstructed pani puri was such a fun twist on the classic – all the flavors were there but presented in a creative and modern way. Loved the presentation and the bold, balanced flavors. It's definitely a cool spot for Indian food with a unique, contemporary vibe!

Google
Well!! I was really skeptical after looking so many bad reviews. But honestly I liked the food and their drinks. The prices looked on the higher side in comparison to the taste but this is what you expect from an upscale downtown restaurant in the city. The appetizers and drinks are a total thumbs up. We ordered- Avocado Tikka, Pani Puri, Fire Aslam Chicken Sourdough Kulcha, Corn and Jalapeño Kebab for appetizers. We went with the Chicken Biryani, Dal Makhni and Naan for entrees. Kheer Cannelloni for dessert. The lychee fusion drink was really good.

One suggestion please clearly mark vegetarian and vegan for faster decision making while ordering food. Parking 100 steps away we have Bellevue square Mall parking and it's free

I just love the appetisers here.! I have tried achari chicken taco’s, Guntur chicken bao, and fire Aslam chicken kulcha they were too good. Mains are just average. Cocktails I would definitely recommend. Chai is really bad don’t ever try it.!

People who love Indian flavours should try this place, we tried many different dishes.. kheema pie ,chicken bao , Indian breads were yummm ! Other dishes need a little fine tuning, pressure cooker mutton gravy was a bit overcooked… could hardly find mutton pieces 😄 Service was excellent!

Yelp
In a nutshell: great food, great space, ok service. I ate at Farzi Cafe with a group, and enjoyed the fun menu. I appreciated the creativity and variety, from drinks and mocktails to dishes across the spectrum of dietary needs. The appetizers are a great start and you must order at least one to get the full experience, and ideally several. The masala guava bubble shots were fun and flavorful. The fire sourdough kulcha was my favorite app for its texture and rich flavors. Garnish with a side of naan or roti for the best experience. The Farzi paneer lababdar had a delicious, creamy flavor with a nice kick. Others at my table enjoyed the chicken dishes. For the prices, I expected a little bit better service. Staff was friendly, but orders were placed all over rather than near the person who ordered, and some naan/roti/rice orders were combined even though it was not easy to reach or constantly pass items around. All in all, a good, flavorful experience and worth checking out.

Yelp
I have been to Farzi Cafe twice now and every time I'm sadly underwhelmed by the food. Plating and presentation = 5 stars, this is where they shine. The food itself however is lacking the warmth and spice that memorable Indian food usually has. The ambiance is really nice as is the service. Prices are pretty steep. Verdict - go for the experience if it's on someone else's dime. Pros Presentation = memorable Inventive cocktails Cons Expensive for the portion size Food isn't very memorable flavor-wise

Yelp
Part of the New Indian restaurant movement, some spectacular dishes that fuse traditional Indian flavors with modern New American techniques and presentation. The garlic chili naan was lightly spicy and wonderful. We had a chicken dish from the small plates menu. Excellent! The star was the fish, perfectly prepared, and sauced at the table. Bar serves up a craft cocktail menu with Indian flare, Ang with all kinds of standards. The only cowbell in the symphony was the dessert. Looks spectacular, the filling and flowers were amazing, but the elegant pastry shell at its core was stale. This is a chain from New Delhi, although it is not your mom and pop Indian. The ambiance is in the same category as other fine dining concepts that provide modern upscale elegance. The menu changes with some frequency. Service was excellent. Parking is in the center garage, but we walked.

Yelp
Second time here and will be back! The food here is simply spectacular, we're spoilt for choice when it comes for Indian cuisine, but I've never felt like we have many options for finer dining in the sense of ambiance especially Just be aware it is beyond noisy and therefore to be heard you'll need to be even more noisy. The only reason I'm docking a star is I reserved a table only to get a table at the bar (usually this is for walk ins) and yes I'm petit but I've always managed to sit on a stool and this was just not happening (my dress agreed with me as well) the service was also lacking, it felt rushed and not enough attention was being paid (they may have been understaffed but alas it is what it is) our server was very helpful and luckily found a table that someone had not shown up for, yay (so just be sure to state your preference, this was an online booking so not sure if there was a spot for that) let's get to food! Fire chicken sourdough kulcha 5/5 OMG this was so yummy, beautiful spices with perfectly cooked chicken and the bread was wonderful as well Lamb shank korma 4/5 it was delicious but paired with all the other lovely dishes it seemed to lack flavor and salt Smoked butter chicken 6/5 what in the what!? Yeeessss slather me in this!!! Ugh there are few dishes that make you pause after a bite, but boy did this slap me sideways I loved the smokiness *drools* Prawnstar 5/5 such a beautiful dish I would recommend 100% beautifully cooked, can not go wrong Chocolate Soufflé 5/5 THANK YOU FOR HAVING A DECENT DESSERT. You'd think restaurants would catch on to this by now but people do have sweet tooth's and would love great desserts. This one was so delicious the interior was full on chocolate decadence YUM

Yelp
We really enjoyed our meal at Farzi Cafe. The interiors are beautiful and the service is quick and attentive. We got the following items: 1. Masala Guava Bubble Shots - beautiful presentation, so refreshing and flavorful - it was like being punched by a flavor bomb. 2. Avocado & Raw Mango Chaat - I love the different textures of this dish. Flavor-wise, it's more mellow which complements the spicier dishes quite well. 3. Fire Sourdough Kulcha - also love the presentation for this, the taste is pretty good as well. 4. Smoked Butter Chicken - flavorful and spicy (for a person with low spice tolerance), it'll make your mouth water. 5. Garlic Naan and Chilly Garlic Rosemary Naan - I love their naan because it's crispy. They recommended the Chilly Garlic Rosemary Naan; I agree it's a must-try. 6. Mango Lassi - an interesting twist to the traditional mango lassi. It's perfect for washing down the spicy dishes.

Yelp
An elegant, modern twist of Indian cuisine located in the heart of Bellevue. I went here for Saturday dinner, reserving in advance just in case as we had a party of 8 people. For Saturday 6pm, it was overall not really a busy restaurant, and reservations can be mostly easily made even the day of. There is a lot of seating. We tried the following dishes, and I personally got the Sour Daddy cocktail which had Stroopwafel which was quite interesting. Overall, food was good but a bit overrated and pricey for what it is, but you can't sleep on the cocktails as they were pretty elite tier. Masala Guava Bubble Shots - love the dry ice that creates the smoky presentation! It is fairly fleeting so make sure to have your video, boomerangs, and pictures taken ASAP. I liked the sweet and spicy combination of this dish. One order is 6 shots, and they are non-alcoholic. Avocado and Raw Mango Chaat - the avocado is fairly ripe and soft, contrasted with the puffed rice. This is a sweet and savory dish, with a slight spiciness. Fire Chicken Sourdough Kulcha - this has one fire show where they light up the dish on fire and put the food plate on top. This is kind of like a pizza, and the chicken is nicely marinated. Tandoori Broccoli - while the dish is simple, I love the slightly crispy broccoli with the sauce which is black from the charcoal. Prawnstar - shrimp is fairly fresh and is full of curry flavor and herbs. It is a fairly spicy dish. Fire Jackfruit Chettinad - this is another fire show where they light up a towel and burns away. The jackfruit is surprisingly delicious as I have tried jackfruit in other places that didn't really do the texture to my preference. This is a fairly spicy dish as well. Signature Double Butter Dal Makhani - this is another seemingly simple dish as it is just lentils but is very buttery and full of spices. There is a mini show where they pour the lentils to the dish, which is a bit extra but I guess they want to keep the theme of being very present-y. The Black Cod - I love this dish. Cod is cooked perfectly and the sauce is sweet and creamy, hints of coconut. This is also one of the servers' favorite dishes. Lamb Shank Korma - tender, though a little dry. The fact there was a gold flake makes it fancy but a bit too ostentatious. This is also kind of like a curry dish. Malabar Chicken Biryani - chicken is dry, fairly underwhelming dish but it was good to have rice to pair with the sauces of the various dishes above. I'd skip this and get bread instead. Service could also be better given this is a upscale restaurant. I expect a bit more attentiveness to detail, especially given for a large party, a 20 percent mandatory gratuity is tacked on to the bill.

Yelp
Really cool inside. Convenient if you're at Bellevue Mall. Overall not traditional Indian but kinda is! The black cod was the best thing we ate. It was amazing and I would go back again just for that. The butter chicken was a little spicy and not a lot of chicken. Decent flavor. The Naan was wood fired so that was good. And different. The buns were okay. Nothing memorable. The avocado cups were also spicy. Didn't care for them They don't have a huge wine list but enough for basic wine. If I was in the area I would go but I wouldn't go out of the way.

Yelp
Been here a few too many times now. Love: the decor. Manager is super nice as well as Tanya at front. Their guava masala shots! Presentation. So fun. They have a few fun presentations dishes. One was like a giant bread dish with fire. All the fun. Shrimp: spicy for some but I like it. Chicken vindaloo- very creamy Avocado & Raw Mango Chaat, puffed rice moori: good Cod: dry Seekh Wellington: dry Chicken biryani: lacking spices Guava masala shots: my favorite Also had a flat bread dish with chicken. Yumm!! Masala chai : SKIP! They don't make it. They get it delivered they said. But it tasted like a package chai. Powder and all. Love the ambiance and my meetings here so I'm giving an extra star. 3 stars food, 1 star extra for ambiance. Cod was the dish most my clients complained about. And chicken biryani being super blend. Oh well!

Yelp
Food: 3/5 Vibe: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Value for Money: 3/5 Farzi Cafe offers a unique blend of Indian cuisine with an American twist, set against the backdrop of a fine dining ambience. It's a place where traditional flavours meet modern innovation, perfect for a special night out. Indian cuisine is known for its rich use of spices, and getting the balance right is crucial to experiencing its true flavours. At Farzi Cafe, the daal chawal arancini was a standout dish. The taste of daal combined with the crispy papadum on top created a blast of flavours that hit all the right notes. we could feel the daal and However, not all dishes lived up to expectations. The rice dish, while flavorful, leaned more towards floral notes rather than the robust spices typical of Indian cuisine. This was a bit of a miss for me, as it didn't capture the essence of what I was hoping for. As for the yoghurt, I'd suggest giving it a pass. It was a complete failure in my opinion, lacking the depth and balance that could have complemented the other dishes. The biggest miss was the chicken curry. It was underseasoned and lacked the depth of flavours one expects from Indian cuisine. The consistency of the curry was appealing, but it failed to complement either rice or rumali roti. While the food is flavorful and creative, it's important to note that it's not authentic Indian cuisine. It's more of an American interpretation of Indian flavours. Some dishes might not hit the mark for purists, but overall, the fusion aspect is what makes Farzi Cafe intriguing. Overall, Farzi Cafe is worth a visit for its creative take on Indian dishes and its lovely ambience. Just be prepared for a mix of hits and misses, as the fusion aspect may not always align with traditional expectations.

Yelp
I visited Farzi Cafe for my anniversary. We had a reservation at 7 and were seated immediately as soon as we arrived . The course size although small did pack a punch. For starters we ordered the Fire Sourdough Kulcha, Curd rice croquette. Both had wonderful flavor. The curd rice croquette did surprise me as it had the South Indian curd rice notes but presented in a unique way. As part of the main course we ordered the signature double butter dal makhani and jackfruit biryani. The jackfruit biryani didn't impress me as the rice seemed dry. But man oh man the dal makhani did not disappoint at all. We got the flourless barcode chocolate cake as desert coz of the lack of options at that time. It was okay. Overall, the music complemented the moody ambiance. And overall with a few hits and misses I would recommend visiting this establishment again to try out their new menus.

Yelp
This is a good place to hang out with your friends if you're thinking of settling in for a long conversation. The ambiance and service were top-notch. The presentation of the food was also amazing. However, the food itself wasn't really to my taste, and it was quite pricey for the amount and quality we received. But I think that's not really what they're known for, so that's fine.

Yelp
Farzi blew my expectations out of the water! I went for a friends birthday dinner and we had a phenomenal experience. We started with drinks, which are all so unique and hand crafted. Some of us got the zodiac drinks too which were lovely, and the staff was super helpful with recommending options based on our preferences. My one complaint is that I made a huge deal to the waiter that I was only ordering my drink for the gold foil and then he brought it out and said they had no more gold. I would have loved to have known that earlier so I could have gotten another drink. But he was slammed and it was delicious so I can forgive that. We started with some starters which were amazing! We got 4 starters for 7 people but I wish we had done two of each of 2 apps bc the portions are small. The broccoli was insane and I also loved the prawns. The waiter recommended we shared mains, but we each ordered our own instead which I think worked better since we all had different dietary restrictions. I'm gluten free and vegetarian and had tons of options. Don't expect your average Indian fare, the food here is really high end and unique. The presentation is also amazing. Everything was beautifully plated and several dishes came with smoke or a fire show. So entertaining! The vibe of the restaurant is really classy and high end. This is not a place for kids or sweatpants. It was perfect for a classy birthday dinner and I would love to come back for another group event!

Yelp
I've been here a few times and I will keep coming back. The service can be hit or miss in my opinion, but the food is impeccable, beautifully plated, and slaps your palate with a unique fusion of Arabic and East Asian flavors. Even the traditional chicken tikka masala has a depth of flavor uncommon for what it is. Pricing is above average as it sits in the heart of downtown Bellevue right in the lodge. This means it is easily accessible and parking is free. The exterior stands out against the undid facades of Bellevue way. The interior immediately transforms you into a modern middle eastern place with high ceilings and dim lighting. They do have a cocktail menu and specialty menu.

Yelp
On a trip to the Seattle WA to see if it would be short listed as a place to move in the future, we found this restaurant that had just opened in the past weeks. Located in Bellevue downtown it was a memorable restaurant of the entire trip. It is now a restaurant that sets the bar high for not just Indian cuisine but in general. The interior is modern yet cultural and aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. Lighting is adequate for a darker appearance but you can still see each other and what you're eating. The menu is diverse and not sure how often it will change, but for a carnivore like myself they did offer aged steaks but also plenty of vegetarian options for my wife. The food was absolutely amazing. However, if you are looking for traditional Indian cuisine, look elsewhere as it's a fusion and modern takes on everything. My recommendation is to have everyone in your party order something different and share. Only then will you appreciate the care and originality their dishes offer. It is definitely a must for any return visits. The staff was timely and pleasant and not too hovering. Perfect balance of attentiveness and hidden. It wasn't just about the meal and service. It leaned toward being an experience and look forward to the next time.

Yelp
Loved the vibes of this restaurant! The service was amazing the waiter definitely knew the menu very well and was able to answer any questions we had about it. Bonus points for majority of the menu being halal !! Surprised it wasn't busy for a Saturday evening. My friend and I ordered just the starters but I personally found it to be pricey for the amount of food we got between two people. 10/10 recommend getting the sourdough chicken kulcha probably my favorite thing out of everything we ordered. Overall the food was good although it was missing that kick of spice most desi food have and also wished the avocado chaat had more pomegranate on it. The parle g cheesecake was a bit underwhelming- I expected an actual slice of cheesecake with the biscuits incorporated into it, but was disappointed to see it was just the filling smashed between 2 biscuits. Probably a one time spot for me but a great halal option if looking to dine when in the city!

Yelp
I was so excited to try Farzi Cafe! I've heard mixed reviews from friends in the area so thought it would be a good time to try it myself. Farzi is Michelin recognized in London so I had high expectations. The decor was really cool, it's nice to see a high end Indian restaurant. The music was fantastic but didn't match the vibe haha, they played a lot of Taylor Swift and some K-pop which I loved! First off, the fact that they have a mocktail menu is amazing. I wish more restaurants had mocktail menus for people who don't drink. I forgot the name of my drink but I thought it was pretty great and not too expensive. As for the foods, everything we got tasted good. The Avocado Chaat was a nice appetizer (but as my friend said, easy to make at home...). The Millet Khichdi Risotto was pretty spicy but the blueberry pickle added a nice tang. My absolutely favorite was the Double Butter Dal Makhani, it was very creamy and not spicy at all. I wish the dish came with rice, but you have to order it on the side. I would definitely want to come back to try more.

Yelp
TL;DR: Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 2/5 After hearing great things about this place and seeing all the gorgeous photos, I stopped in for lunch at Farzi and sat at the bar by myself. Food/Drink: Best part of my visit. My Dal Makhani was tasty, although it was quite salty. Now I don't mind salty food, but when I say something is salty, that means others may find it overly so. The malabar paratha was flaky and not oily, which was appreciated. Service: The server/bartender looked bored, and often slumped against the bar on his phone when not tending to customers. When talking to me he was soft spoken, mumbled his words, and was difficult to hear. He also kept his face glued to the handheld Toast device while taking orders - this really broke the experience here and made me feel like I was ordering at a fast food joint rather than a nice restaurant. The runner who delivered my food had a much more positive energy and carried more pride in her work - I hope management doesn't overlook that talent. Ambience: For how gorgeous this place is when sitting in the dining room area, the bar area does not offer the same experience. The area behind the bar is very cluttered and disorganized. There are piles of storage boxes visible, an electric fly swatter in clear sight, and loads of glassware filling shelves and the bar top. To conclude: for as beautiful and Social-Media-Worthy as the restaurant itself is, the bar definitely needs tidying, and service coached on actually taking orders from customers instead of just being a middle man for a Toast tablet.

Yelp
Food was great, but the overall experience took stars away. My boyfriend made a reservation ahead of time noting that it would be our anniversary celebration. Once we arrived at the restaurant (even checking in 15 minutes early), we were left waiting an additional 30 minutes past our reservation time for a table. The staff just overall seemed really anxious and confused. Our name was asked multiple times and the waiting area had filled up with people. Often times the service came off a bit rude. I did love the drink menu though, there is one menu that offers drink recommendations according to your astrology sign which I loved. The pricing was a tad confusing though as some cocktails were pricier than the food options. I got the Virgo of course and my boyfriend got the Aries. Both were wonderful drinks that I would get again. Our waiter was a little annoying and kept asking if we wanted our water refilled throughout the service even if our glasses were empty. Lol like yes just fill it babe we don't want to keep pausing our conversation. When it was time for the check, our waiter asked if we would like to split it. Haha it was our anniversary dinner (This visit took place June 2023)

Yelp
Farzi Cafe in Bellevue serves up Indian cuisine with a modern twist! We ordered the Tandoori Broccoli for appetizers. The smoky flavor took broccoli to a whole new level, and I couldn't get enough! Then, the Fire Chettinad Jackfruit stole the show! The spicy Chettinad spices with tender jackfruit were a match made in foodie heaven. The dish came with a theatrical fire presentation. Sure, the prices were a bit high , but trust me, the taste was worth every penny! Each bite was bursting with flavor and creativity. you need to try Farzi Cafe if you love delicious food with a twist.

Yelp
Food was tasty, creative menu, ambience was nice and service was good (though a bit rushed up). We ordered the wellington, prawnstar, kulcha, chicken tikka masala with cumin rice, naan and a juice. Wellington with mutton seekh kebab was really good. The chicken tikka masala was the best we have ever had! The juice was really good, mix of tumeric, ginger, orange etc, though a bit pricey. The prawns were very fresh and tasty, but the chimichurri sauce was lacking a prominent flavor, it needed to be a bit spicy or tangy or something, it was very bland, which impacted the flavor of the dish as a whole. That was the only disappointment in the food. Everything else tasted amazing! I have one suggestion for the management: update your website so there is no confusion on menus. It looks like you only have one menu in the restaurant, but the website has 3 (lunch, dinner, all day)! I do recommend visiting this restaurant and definitely ordering the chicken tikka masala and the wellington!

Yelp
This was our second time at Farzi and I must say, it feels like the food and service quality have noticeably declined since my first visit, making the overall experience a little disappointing. Pros: the chicken sourdough kulcha, dal makhani, jeera rice and ajwain parantha were excellent. Now for the cons: tart Papdi chaat left much to be desired, it was overtly sweet and had way too much yogurt which overpowered every other flavor. The butter chicken tasted like sweet tomato soup with chunks of chicken in it. However, even apart from the food, it's the service that was unsatisfactory. The servers were sullen and lacked the warmth that should be part of the overall experience at a place like Farzi, given how expensive it is. Although they did not misbehave, their unfriendly demeanor detracted significantly from the enjoyment of the evening.

Yelp
Farzi has been on my list since a long time because of the hype around it. Finally, was able to try this place for dinner. The ambiance is really amazing and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Let me tell you this, it's fine dining and it's on the expensive side. If you are looking for a fancy dinner/lunch or celebrating something, this is an amazing place for it. We tried their masala guava bubble shots, which were really good with so many flavors in a tiny bowl. We tried their mock tails, although I wasn't much impressed with them. Tried their chicken 65, southern affair, roti sides, and ghee Jeera rice. Everything was perfect. The best chicken curry I had in a while and will definitely be on the top of my list. The portion sizes aren't huge, they are good for one person. Overall, definitely give it a try if you are someone who likes exploring and looking for a good chicken curry.

Yelp
Farzi Cafe is an international chain of restaurants specializing in fusion Indian cuisine. I went there meeting an old friend who has moved to the east coast and was missing Indian food. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and everything tasted great. The service could get slow at times due to the rush but it wasn't too bad. The ambiance is also great, there is great attention to detail across the restaurant right from the candles to the drinking glasses having the F logo. Would I visit again? Yes! It's expensive though so I would reserve this place for special occasions.

Yelp
Definitely try it once to form your opinion. I wouldn't say food is great. Service is okay. Nice take on pan Asian cuisine. We tried Mango lassi - okay Dal arancini - good Mango phuchka - good Mutton - spicy not that great Paneer makhni - it's okay We couldn't finish the mango lassi but they didn't have any to go cups!!!! That is definitely not acceptable. How do people to go mango lassi???

Great food, great service, good ambiance! The cocktails were on point ! Portion sizes are on the smaller side so order multiple items to savour many items.

Yelp
Surprisingly good flavor! Prices are pretty high, a lot of dishes had flashy components like dry ice, smoke, or even a sparkler. If you like to take videos of your eating experience, this place works well for you. Lamb and CTM were very tasty. The lamb was the biggest portion, everything in the small plates section is truly bite size so I'd avoid if you are going for value. the Dal Chawal Arancini and the Puchka Tartlets were really good, just wouldn't order them again because of how little we got. No regrets about getting them the first time though. Service was good, I recommend a reservation. Vibe was nice too, surprisingly a lot of desi people. Overall we'd come back here! We really liked the flavors and tastes.

Yelp
We made a reservation for Saturday night dinner which made it quick and easy for us to get seated right away. The service was very good and the ambiance was elevated and lovely. For food we started off with mango puchka tartlets which were a party in my mouth! Highly recommend. Followed by the dal Chagall arancini! I also recommend. We then had the "bun intended" ...I only wanted a little bit more raita. We ended with CTM (chicken Tikka masala) and garlic naan plus laccha parantha. These were average with nice flavor but not unique compared to the items above. I definitely want to come back to try out the fire sourdough kulcha and quinoa bhalla.

Yelp
Great variety of unique cocktails and food. I did not know this was a small plates restaurant, so be prepared to pay if that's the direction you go. That being said, they food was delicious and the presentation was incredible. Our server was lovely and helpful. She made great suggestions and even said "wow, that's a lot of food, you might want to hold off if you're not really hungry!" Which I appreciated! It's an absolutely beautiful restaurant. It would be great for a date night or celebration.

Yelp
This restaurant is absolutely a must try!! Its michelin star but the prices aren't that bad compared to any other fancy restaurant. The ambience is nice! Service was exceptional! Server was prompt and helpful in selecting options. The food is indian but with a twist and great presentation. Everything just makes sense! Its not instagramy worthy with no purpose or taste. We ordered the happy girl and a rye drink, both were great! The fire chicken and mago tartlet were so so good! Lamb chops were good too but make sure you ask for well done. The dal balls were ok so I would skip it. In entrees, we loved the millet dal risotto and lamb with a side of kulcha. Entrees are a big portion that are shareable so its enough food. We skipped dessert.

Yelp
Been wanted to try this place for quiet sometime. I was hesitate due to few people and friends of mine were not so thrilled with the service. I just have to try it for myself. Yesterday my friend and I decided to try it. Got there around 11:30am for lunch time, nobody there. The place is nice, clean, chic for lunch or dinner. We ordered: Millet Khichidi Rissotto - mild light spice Dal Chawal Arancini - love this the most Fire Sour Dough Kulcha - like this too. It comes with naan. Southern Fire Chicken - had a splash of rum to light up the fire, so it has a little bitter burn taste. Love all the food and the amazing presentation! The server was very attentive, he kept coming back to full out our water. The manager also stopped by to check on us. Will definitely come back again.

Yelp
The vibes and food were all really great. Though I will say it loses a star on price, it is definitely pricey for what you're getting but if you're ok with that and just want to eat some tasty food, this is your spot. It feels more like indian fusion food and they put their own twists on some things as well. We got the Fire Chicken Sourdough Kulcha, Telicherry Beef Tacos, CTM, Ribeye, and another fish curry (I forgot the name). They were all high quality and tasty and for the 3 of us, it was more than enough. The price was also more than enough. The service was amazing, our waitress was so helpful and nice the whole time. We were able to walk in and get seated but I heard there are always long lines so maybe making a reservation is the move.

Yelp
In the heart of Bellevue city, this place has a nice vibe with beautiful interiors. At about 7 pm they were pretty packed so reservation in advance is a good idea. Ordered the daal makni (forgot to take a picture), jackfruit biryani and paneer mille-feuille. Paneer mille-feuille was a let down as the paneer was hard and the gravy lacked a punch. Not talking about spices but there was a missing wow element. 3/5. Daal makni was nice and creamy. Just the way it should be. Subtle flavors with dollops of cream. 4/5. Jackfruit biryani was the star of the night. Great balance of spices. Jackfruit was beautifully cooked. 5/5 If you're looking for a modern take on Indian food then this is the place to be. If you're looking for the Desi spices then you'll be disappointed. Also do note it is on the pricier side sooo maybe save this place for an occasion. Speaking of disappointments I was not happy with their cocktails, it was heavy on the sugary side. 0/5 as I left it as is. Overall 3/5.

Yelp
This is a Michelin-recognized Indian restaurant, you might want to get a reservation before coming! We got the following for 4 people and we were decently full. Overall a little pricey for the portions you get but it's worth checking out Dayi Kebab Mawa Bombs ($13) - I've never had these before but they were creamy and dense inside with a crispy outside. The sauce complemented it well Gunther Chili Chicken ($15) - this was a little spicy but really flavorful. I recommend this small plate! Chicken Tikka Masala ($26) - this was really delicious, highly recommend. Super flavorful and chicken was so tender. Portion size was really small but worth to try! Zaffran Chicken Biriyani ($25) - this was reallyyy fragrant (a little too much for me) but everyone else liked it! If you like Biriyani this is also worth checking out Instagram - @joangela.eats

Yelp
The food here was so memorable that my first review after 3 month break and i still clearly remember the elegant plating and adventurous take on indian food here. This is a popular restaurant in India...so i was super curious to see how they adapt to palate in usa. I can see they have upped their plating game and increased the richness and reduced the spiciness (yet well balanced). The ambience is good and located in bellevue square mall so parking is never an issue The menu has changed since i reviewed However, the dal khichdi arancini i had was just a mind-blowing take on italian appetizer i know and love. The chicken malai tikka i had was cooked really well and succulent but not raw. Lotis root kofta was good but the quantity of kofta to gravy was but less .more kofta will do this plate more justice. The dessert rotates seasonally as well. The rasmalai with carrot filling was what i tried and loved it so much that i made space for another plate and stuffed myself up to my throat...haha The service was polite and the server knew what she was recommending. I always love it when the server seem to have tried the food themselves and can explain the dishes well. Specially in restaurant like this where they try ti have special twist on indian classics. Worth a visit as the menu rotates. Please make sure to shell out some more moolah than typical indian restaurant. It is worth the experience.

Yelp
Firstly, note that their online menus and the website arrangement are confusing. The left upper corner has a tab for menu which takes you to an "All Day Menu". But if you scroll down instead, it takes you to a place where you can choose "Food Menu", which then takes you to "Lunch Menu" and "Dinner Menu". The menu we received at the restaurant weren't any of them. Doh. The "All Day Menu" has since been updated to match what we received. Moving on... Farzi Café is a restaurant/company that originated in India, operating multiple restaurants with a goal of fine dining. The restaurant is beautiful inside. The ambiance is perfectly good for a date night. The tables are reasonably spaced. If the little lamp at your table is too dim, tap for different light levels. If it is still too dim, ask for a fully charged lamp; they are all USB charged lamps and gets dim over time. Making a reservation is highly recommended, or you could end up at bar seating (which has its own charms). If you don't see a time slot online, call to ask. They'll send you a link to reserve the time with a credit card (standard practice). The restaurant was full to the tilt by 7pm on a weekend. Plenty of Indians were dining there, which is always a good sign. Parking is super easy at the mall; park by Macy's for the nearest lot. Our waiter was very helpful; he answered all my questions. The Food: Lamb'o'rgini, $35 - 4.5 Stars Menu: grilled lamb chops , red wine rogan jus, polenta upma This is a starter dish in their menu, with 8oz of lamb chops, which is 3 pieces. Served with a red wine rogan jus and grilled to perfection, this was very, very delicious, and I highly recommend it. (It is rather spendy for a starter, but such is life.) Black Cod, $39 - 4.5 Stars Menu: baked black cod, coconut coriander rub, raw mango moilee The black cod is perfectly cooked. So tender and perfect. The sauce is delicious though surprisingly oily. We both liked the taste plenty, and we dipped our bread in it. C.T.M, chicken tikka masala, $24 - 1 Star This was peculiar. We ordered it because in another review, someone said it is the best CTM she has ever had. It definitely is not. The sauce entirely lacked flavor - plenty of cream but no flavor, no spiciness, either. Other than the fact the chicken was properly cooked, this was amongst the most disappointing CTM we have ever had. Visually, I was excited it doesn't have the neon-orange color, but taste-wise, I needed more. I did tell our server, and he said the spiciness is dialed down to suit American palette, but I said it is not a matter of spiciness. It is about the lack of flavor. Laccha Parantha, $5 - 3 Stars This is a traditional flakey bread. It was ok but not special. I have had better. Steam Rice, $6 I'm not going to rate this because it's only steamed rice. But $6 for steam rice is very overpriced.

Yelp
The ambience and drinks were great. Loved the guava shots and forest fire cocktail. We went for appetizers for the table which was a good idea

Yelp
I'm baffled by some of the low ratings for this establishment. I stumbled upon it while exploring Bellevue Square and was immediately drawn in by its stunning decor and mouth-watering cuisine - my personal favorite. The interior design is just as impressive as its exterior, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The menu was intriguing, and I learned that they change it up every three weeks or so. The menu layout is quirky as well. We ordered a variety of dishes, pav bhaji subwich, nadru kofta, zaffran chicken biryani, naan, rabdi magnum, and rasmalai tres leches. In my opinion, everything was a solid 5/5. The flavors were authentic, and each dish was beautifully presented. The biryani, in particular, was the best I've had in the PNW region. I'll definitely be returning and highly recommend this spot to others. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this place.

Yelp
This place is beautiful and the wait staff is very attentive. There were so many cocktails to choose from and the ones we chose were delicious. The food was very flavorful and still stuck to its roots in flavor for being fusion dishes. I would definitely be coming back as there were so many other things on the menu that we wanted to try. Dishes that we tried: Mango Puchka 5/5 Dal Chawal Arancini 5/5 Double butter dal mahki 5/5 Ice cream bars 4/5

Yelp
This place was on my list for a long time. We went in for lunch today. We called ahead and turned out they weren't fully, we got seated promptly. The food was v delicious. The staff was super sweet and lovely. About the food : Malai chicken: super yummy, low to no spice. Guntur chicken: spicy, hot but oh so delicious. Main Course: Chicken Biryani: It was okay, tasted more like homemade chicken Pulso, tbh I would skip this next time. Mutton Tawa : This wax a hit with my family. Tandoori Roti: 5 stars Naan: It wasn't XL size usually served in US restaurants , but a regular-sized which I liked. Overall a good place, and I would come here again.

Yelp
It was a last minute decision to dine in here instead of another restaurant we usually go to. I think the hostess and the manager were not very welcoming, just looked tired, but they weren't rude by any means. Our waitress was lovely and the service was great. She came to check up on us several times which I feel it does not happen in many restaurants these days. Waitresses usually take the order, busboy delivers food and they check up on you once and then for additional order of dessert. The food was great but I think the smoked butter chicken was not my favorite at all since it was very similar to bbq taste. It was my choice of food. Naan and the rice were fantastic. I would come back here maybe in few months since I do think the dishes are overpriced. In india, the high end restaurant didn't cost this much and I always have a heart burn at night time when I have bit of heavier ingredient and spiced food.

Yelp
Stick to the Yelp recommendations! Seriously. Just wrapped up a dinner at Farzi cafe. For the first time I decided to order based on the Yelp reviews. Boy am I glad or what!? Cocktails were good. I ordered the Funny girl. Also got a complimentary mini glass of champagne with edible sparkles in them. Birthday special. Puchkha tartlets: a solid pani puri that bursts into your mouth like a mini fountain. They are as light as air. Could probably eat a couple dozen of these. Dal chawal arancini: very unique, very tasty! For the main course we had the Nadru kofta and Fire Jackfruit polichattu. The kofta was quite average. It had a garnish of fried lotus root-- quite a nice touch. Otherwise too salty; the balance of flavors seemed slightly off. Jackfruit polichattu was delicious. We devoured these with roomali roti and Malabari parotta-- both delicious. Service was extremely rushed. It was quite evident the waitress wanted us to leave close to the hour. She kept hovering over our tables to make sure we are progressing with our food. I honestly don't know if there's a difference between a regular cafe or this Farzi cafe. Noise levels are pretty much comparable. And this cafe charges you an arm and leg with their eclectic menu but doesn't give you an experience to back it up. No time to savor and enjoy the food. The food is okay. Is it worth the hype? Absolutely not. Overall Experience: Dismal.

Yelp
Very poor service. Extremely overpriced and there is nothing Indian if that's what you want to eat. Person who took our order had no idea about the menu. Do not recommend spending that much money on something that you won't be happy with

Yelp
Loved this place! Had a nice dinner for New Year's Day, and the vibe was trendy and intimate. The portions were on the smaller side for small dishes, but we actually liked that because we got to try so many dishes. Everything was super unique and flavorful - beef kabob was amazing as well as fire chicken sourdough (with a little magic show ). The salmon was the softest salmon we've had and was delicious! For the prawns, there were only 4 but the chimichurri sauce was so good, we ended up eating all the sauce with parantha, which was soo flaky and chewy! Our server was also very kind and gave great recommendations!

Yelp
Update: went here again after 3 months with reservations. The menu had changed and we felt the main course did not have many vegetarian options and the appetizers we had ordered during our first visit were no longer on the menu. The taste too was not what we were expecting. We ordered cheese burst chicken tikka which was good. Masala guava bubble shots was the best from what we ordered. Ctm French thalaiva was not so great and came with just 1 croissant and we had order more rotis to go with it. Felt expensive for the quantity we got.

Yelp
I'm sorry Farzi. I had high hopes for you. And you definitely missed the mark. My girlfriend and I had reservations at Farzi on Saturday night. Although the space is gorgeous and a bit intimate (mind you it's on the side of the Bellevue Square Mall), I cannot say that about the food or service. Food was lack luster and missing spices/flavors. The $6 sides (avocado pickle was swimming in oil and avocados were old and black and the White Fungus needed more seasoning) were missing the mark. My drink was the best thing I had that night - The Funny Girl (get it!). Food came out lukewarm and was obviously prepared earlier, nothing was piping hot except the salmon.. And at over $250 for two people.(two drinks, two sides, two mains, one roti and five small plates) I'm still upset about that. Our service was subpar and our never checked on us after the food was delivered. And our drinks ran out. She seemed to be bothered with something which we could tell in the background once she left the table. But most importantly, with all the restaurants coming to the area I found it astonishing that the menu didn't mention which items were either V, GF or DF. I'm gluten and dairy free and when I asked our server which items didn't have gluten or dairy she had no idea and had to go to the kitchen for a cheat sheet. And even then she still couldn't answer so I had to wing it. Not good in my book. I know many of the things I had that night contained dairy and gluten (I felt horrible after) so you have been warned, especially for celiac and people with allergies. Farzi definitely doesn't live up to the hype. I've had far better Indian food in Redmond during a lunch buffet. One star for the salmon that wasn't overcooked (but was still bland) and one star for my amazingly delicious drink - the Funny Girl.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful new restaurant in the heart of Bellevue Square. My friend read about it in the newspaper and got me excited to try it. It was easy enough to get an early reservation on a weeknight, and the service was great! Parking is a bit of a challenge, but I was able to find a spot on the 4th floor of the Belle Square parking garage by the doors/stairway down to Cactus. The server let us know everything was sort of served like tapas, so we knew what to expect. She recommended we order 5-6 dishes, which was spot on. We had 6 dishes and two bottles of rose to round out a delightful dinner out on the town. The apple tartlet starter was unique with the liquid nitrogen, but now that I've had it once, I don't see myself ordering it again. It didn't have much substance, and the portion, of course, was small. I wanted to try the burrata paneer, but our server steered us away from it. I will have to try that upon my next visit. The flaming jackfruit dish was very beautifully presented and was very flavorful. For vegetarians, this is a delicacy! The halibut curry dish was very good, and we ordered naan to dip in it. I didn't photograph the naan because it didn't look different than any others I've had.. but it was one of the best parts of the meal! It was so fresh and doughy - just thinking about it makes me hungry. Towards the end of the meal we were still a little bit hungry, so we ordered the paneer tikka dish, despite the server warning us against it (she said it was not a favorite of guests). We absolutely loved it and devoured every bite! All in all, we had a wonderful meal here. There are still dishes I need to try, so another visit is warranted!

Yelp
At first the environment is impressing but then you get tired of the colors and all fake leaves around you. The service was not good at all as took them for ever to prepare drink as they had one bartender at that busy time around dinner time. After an hour I saw there is 3 people on the floor which one was cleaning glasses instead of checking on us for food, the other one was just wondering around and try to not have any eye contact with customers to be asked for anything, then I had to call someone asking to take our order after being there for over an hour. The food looked good but very heavy and creamy. Very small portions but over 36% cream. Everything was served in a heavy creamy sauce. I would not go back ever again.

Yelp
Out of the dishes I liked the kiwi puchka and dal aranchini didn't really like the others. The desert options are interesting and service was good. Ambiance seemed nice but we got a pretty shitty seating right at the front near the door that seems cut off from the rest of the space so knocked off two stars.i don't understand why anyone would design a restaurant with seats like that. Will return if I want to fine dine in Bellevue only if I get reservation.
