I'm torn on how to rate this self described "southern kitchen and bar." The menu doesn't seem to match the venue and the prices are borderline absurd, even for the location. The bulk of the haggard spiral pages are dedicated to sugar bomb mixed drinks, some of which can be ordered in 2 gallon Mason jars for $99. The cheddar bacon waffle is half a waffle with cheese on it and two slabs of pork fat. The pork and beans were a delicious and hearty take on the classic with chickpeas thrown in for good measure. I recommend getting a fried chicken on a biscuit Sammie with a side of honey butter. The chicken is too small a portion for the hefty (but great) biscuit, so take it out and eat it separately as it is the star of the show. Juicy and delicious with an amazing crunchy exterior. Enjoy your biscuit with the yummy honey butter. I wish this place did a simple chicken and waffles.

Saturday afternoon around 2 p.m. Place more than half empty yet we were sat in the very back by the kitchen against a wall. Told that all the other booths were reserved for large parties that were coming in. Refuse to move us to a better location. The couple next to us said the food was good yet left a full plate of food when they left. $18 drinks that were pure sugar. I don't even think there was a thimble full of alcohol in them. This is my first visit to this place. I did get take out ribs about a month ago. It was like they took ribs, boil them for three minutes and put them in a box. Absolutely no flavor and tough as hell. I live two blocks from the place and will never ever go back.

Came for Sunday brunch with my fiancé and his brother. Pros: no wait, really nice waitress, good atmosphere. Cons: brunch food was just mediocre and so cold inside. We ordered the breakfast brunch platter and a egg/sausage biscuit. The food wasn't bad but just nothing special.

It is the essence of southern cooking vs real southern cooking. Coming from Tennessee the food here is a far stretch from real southern cuisine. Crab Hushpuppies were decent Nashville Hot Fried Chicken - it was very dry and lacked any flavor to resemble true Nashville hot fried chicken Grits - lacked flavor. I would have been better off making it at home. Kale Caesar - the dressing was very good but they put too much on the salad so all you tasted was the dressing. Biscuits were dry and cold The server was incredibly slow and lacked any knowledge to food preparation. Needless to say, we won't be coming back.

Had the Thanksgiving meal which was amazing and quantity was a lot, I couldn't finish. The staff was very helpful and generous.

Excellent food, excellent service! We sat at the bar and our bartender was awesome. We love the laid back environment compared to Chelsea Market across the street. We were visiting from Texas..perhaps this is why we loved it so much? Either way, great place. This would fit in perfect in Frisco and McKinney- North of Dallas.

Loved EVERYTHING about this restaurant EXCEPT the service. Our service was terribly slow at a time when the restaurant was not even in a full evening rush. Other than that we had great food and great drinks. The cocktails were beautifully decorated, and the happy hour deal hit the spot. Great job with the atmosphere. Thanks for a good night.
