Fat Shack Will Land in Pioneer Square Later This Year - Eater Seattle

"Downtown is about to get a gut-busting late-night dining option. Fat Shack — the growing fast food franchise recently featured on the ABC show 'Shark Tank' — is planning to open a location in Pioneer Square either late fall or early winter at 88 Yesler Way. As the chain established at its other locations around the country, patrons can expect plenty of indulgent items on the menu, including burgers, Buffalo wings, and sandwiches stuffed with mozzarella sticks. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Sun-Wed, open until 3 a.m. on Thursdays, and until 4 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays." - Gabe Guarente

Nice little chill spot to grab some late night grub. Nice little selection of local craft brews on tap. Food was delicious as well, one gripe: the fries were cold as of they were sitting over the hot oil in the fryer basket. Burger on the other hand was piping hot and super juicy and delicious! Got the original which included two slabs of meat topped with cheese and of course all the fixings. I’d come visit again!

Google
We came in really late from the airport and were just looking for somewhere to grab a bite around midnight—so glad we stumbled across this place! The burgers and fries totally hit the spot. The mozzarella sticks were just okay, nothing special, but still decent. The wings were good if you’re into a more vinegar-based sauce tangy and flavorful, just not my personal favorite style. Overall, great late-night find!

Today I was waiting for a friend of miine who’s in the courthouse signing some papers and I was driving around just to find a place to park I parked right in front “Fat Shack”. Right now it’s about 1130 A.m. and you can see they are ramping up for the lunch hour. But that didn’t stop them from being friendly, providing excellent service and smiling while doing it, making great tasting food. Also, I didn’t notice that there was sauce options for the desserts and I told him that I will run out to my car and see if I can scrounge up some change to get those sauces because I didn’t want to use my debit card and have them pay fees to Visa for such a small charge amount. He told me “don’t worry about it” and he gave them to me as a Gesture of Goodwill. Because of his kindness and how they presented themselves, I will definitely be coming back and with more than just myself. I will be letting my friends know about this place. Thanks guys. I really appreciate it. It’s not every day you get friendly people in The food service industry.

Google
How small can you make a sammich? At Fat Shack, they make em really small. For almost 9 bucks, this Philly was a total rip off. It was a 4 bite sandwich with barely any meat on it. So, a mostly bread and cheese, slider size Philly for the price of a full size sub. Disappointed! The fries are good.

TheNightKitten

Google
The food is way too good to pass up. They’re open late too and have beer 🍺. The place isn’t fancy by any means but that has its own appeal.

Google
I would come here from time to time after work for a burger combo and it’s pretty good. It’s not the best I’ve ever had but it’s consistent and great to eat when you’re hungry. However I won’t come back tonight after the service I just received. It felt very unaccommodating and the worker was so snippy. Wait is usually 15 min which is fine but had nowhere to stand in other than the front of the toilet while I waited for my food to go. Maybe they changed their policy but that was very disappointing after working all day to just stand by the toilet and nowhere else when I was able to sit somewhere unoccupied before. I accepted the rules without saying anything or giving attitude but it still left a sour taste in my mouth. It’s sad because the usual guy is super nice.

Tried this on a weekday after lunch & it was not busy. The customer service was top notch with smiles & laughter. Food (chicken stack) was quick & delicious! Thanks for making the rest of my train trip happy & full!

Google
Our experience was more than what we expected. The Fat shack lol you definitely feel like one after eating here. That's a good thing 🤗food is Very fulfilling and very satisfying. I gave them a 5 even though we had a long wait time but with patience and understanding it paid off! Staff checked in with us during the wait made which made the wait easier because we knew they hadn't forgot about us. I got the cheesesteak and kids got the wings and burgers. I don't have a bad thing to say about any of it! You can sit at a booth or if you're 21 and over and enjoy a beer at the bar. They have videos playing and music that makes the environment a whole vibe. Thank you Fat shack for a delicious experience! 😋

Yelp
It's embarrassing that I can be this confident that the jalapeño poppers are from the exact same supplier as Jack in the Box, but I've had way too many late night orders from Jack's over the years and a bitch knows. Sorry. But Jack's are cheaper and their ranch is better. Munchie Madness Platter was pretty disappointing for $20. It would be way less sad-looking if you maybe throw in a couple more pieces, or toss in a cheap filler like french fries or something, or make your own sauces/dressings instead of using Ken's brand packets (they're gross; I just throw them out unopened). Maybe these are not remotely realistic suggestions...I'm definitely no expert, so don't mind me.

Yelp
I'm so glad Fat Shack was here! I had a little time to get a meal before jumping on my train and a burger was in order. I got the Classic meal. The fries were fantastic! Crispy and well seasoned. The burger was nice and simple, overcooked just a fuzz, with a little too much pepper. It was a good sized meal for a great price! I'll definitely be back! Good food, great location, good service!

Yelp
This place is just fine. For some reason, I was expecting it to be a fast food place, not a table service bar/restaurant. Prices were a lot more expensive than I thought and the venue had a lot of different menu items, beer options, and seating like a sit-down bar/restaurant would offer. I came here on a weekday lunch and it was completely dead. But then again, this whole area seems to be dead after the pandemic (quite sad actually). Maybe this place gets busier in the evening and late nights but I am not sure what keeps this place going. Perhaps game days/nights around the stadiums but even that, there are other options that are within closer proximity. The food was good! I ordered the Single Burger and a small size of fries. Total came to $16 including tax and tip. The burger was very very well made visually and the fries were fried to near perfection. If you like extra crispy fries, you will love them here. The venue is a lot cleaner than how it looks from the outside and the official food safety rating is "Excellent". That's really about it. Maybe I will give them another visit before or after one of the sporting events nearby. But here is the thing (circulating back to how I started the review) - if we are talking about a proper sit-down bar/restaurant (like this place is claiming to be), I am just not sure if this place is competitive enough in terms of its appeals. As mentioned, the place is clean, the food is good, service is okay, etc. but it just needs ...a little something more. And of course, this is just my opinion. Many would disagree.

Yelp
This was a really solid choice after a couple of drinks out and about. It's a sandwich full of comfort food! They are also very customizable with the options so I could easily make one of the options vegetarian. They did take more time to make the order than others, but it was super well packaged! Nothing leaked or tipped over with how it was double wrapped and bagged. Can't speak to ambiance as we got take out. I'd definitely order late night noms again!

Yelp
If you are in the mood for some not so good for you but utterly satisfying food, Fat Shack is the place to go. They are open late til 3am and offer burgers, wings, cheesesteak, fat stuffed sandwiches with sides including fries, onion rings and cheese fries. If you are in the mood for something sweet they offer deep fried Oreos, deep fried funnel cake and deep fried cheesecake. It is a low key eatery with good service.

Yelp
If you want to waste 30 minutes of your life, come here. This place blows. More characters to meet the minimum.

Yelp
Came here before an M's game simply because I wanted a quick burger. Fat Shack is was! In a fast food-esque fashion, you order at the counter and wait for your food to be delivered to your table (about 10 mins). Go at an 'off' time to ensure you get a seat; seating was semi-limited. We got our burgers and fries and boy, they were SO GOOD and hit the spot! Fries were crispy, burgers were filling and tasty. We devoured everything. Service was friendly and fast. Menu was vast and had every type of comfort food (eyeing the onion rings next time), even beers on tap. Fat Shack is open til 3am, close to the stadiums, and offers carryout, meaning I'll definitely be hitting up Fat Shack again.

Yelp
Definitely a stoners' place that is appropriately named. But such a good spot to end any cravings for filling food. Service was great and friendly. The other clientele was a little sus... and the restaurant could've been a bit cleaner.

Yelp
Came here to try this place for its food. I had their buffalo wings with ranch. The service was okay. It seemed like they were busy complaining about some work issues before and after we ordered. The wings were on the smaller side but were super crunchy was a great texture for wings and the ranch of course just adds the creaminess and fat you want with a buffalo flavored wing Will definitely come back here and try more items!

Yelp
The only reason why I'm giving 2 stars is because the guy who took my order was nice and patient with my son and I while we were ordering and the fried Oreos actually were pretty good. Aside from that, I want to know where the additional $10+ that I was charged came from. I ordered the munchie madness platter, 5 sauces (4 were suppose to be included with the platter) the chicken and fries (which consisted of 3 chicken strips with a handful of French fries), 2 bottles sodas and a 5 piece Oreo with chocolate and strawberry sauce. When I paid I clicked 'no tip' (I tipped with cash in hopes that they wouldn't get taxed on it) so I truly do not understand how I got charged nearly $60 for an order that was originally suppose to be nearly $50.. Aside from that. It is typical frozen to fried food that you can buy at cash and carry. I also was only given 1 marinara instead of 2 which wasn't nearly enough for the mozzarella sticks and Mac bites ): I really wanted to like this place because the cashier was kind but it just fell a little short and I also was over charged.

Yelp
FUQ, why is this so damn good? Fat Shack will make you fat. Do not eat here. Because when you try it, you will love it; thus, you will continue to go and get fat. Do not eat here. I visited Fat Shack for lunch one day because this eatery is supppper close to where I work, so it's convenient AF. Also, I learned that Fat Shack was featured on Shark Tank and Travel Channel, so decided to see what the fuss was all about. On a weekday during the lunch hour, the place was pretty busy. So I recommend if you're in a hurry, like on a lunch break, order ahead of time because the food is made as it's ordered. That's always a good sign. But if you want something fast then this isn't that. Fat Shack is known for their fat sandwiches. They're all fat because they're filled with food you should not be eating like chicken strips, french fries, bacon, cheese sticks, anything you'd have a hankering for when you're wasted, etc. There's also different sizes, based off the inches of the bread it's on. The regular size is nine inches, the large is a foot long and a small size is six inches. I ordered a regular gorbies sandwich with a side of fries. My order took about half an hour to get, so again, order ahead if you're in a hurry. The gorbies sandwich was so freaking good though! My sandwich came with chicken strips, bacon, fries, cheddar cheese, lettuce and ranch. And the freaking bread was perfect, with a soft dense texture inside yet with a crispy exterior, for that bite. How the heck did they manage that? The sandwich was delicious. Everything was very tasty, but you really can't go wrong with chicken strips and bacon and fries and cheese and lettuce and ranch. I mean, really. SO, SO good. It just kills me that this and any of the food here at Fat Shack is not good for you. You will eat your suggested calories for the day in one item here, seriously. And the fries were double dipped, so had that extra crunch on them. NOMS. I'm glad I tried Fat Shack, which is exactly the kind of place that would be featured on Travel Channel since there's a lot to love here. Should I even mention the DEEP FRIED OREOS OR TWINKIE here? Yeah, this is food that should not be eaten on the daily or weekly or monthly. Maybe like, twice a year. But it's so damn good...SEE YOU THERE SOON!

Matthew L.

Yelp
Slow service, not busy on a Friday.. But the food is amazing and the workers are super friendly and nice. But waiting 15 min on a slow night to get your order is frustrating.

Yelp
Solid burger joint in the historic Pioneer Square "Fun Zone" - clubs, bars, street action. Perfect later night eats, fries above average. Typically open til 1am during week, later on weekend. Service was no problem, it's a joint after all, could be a wait for the phat.
google avatar

Kristal G.

Yelp
Jorge was amazing. Great customer service right off the bat offering us different options with food and drinks!
google avatar

Jose T.

Yelp
Possibly the best onion rings anywhere, crispy not greasy large and a big portion. The angus burger is amazing and well priced. The fried are años very good. They have all sorts of y dual sandwiches, chupen wings ect as well as beer. It's a nice interior with roomy booths. If you want a great burger this is one of the best certainly better than say shake shack and take my advice get the onion rings
google avatar

Andrea V.

Yelp
The food was pretty good! I got a cheeseburger with fry's and a drink. I really liked the bun and meat was also good. Fry's were perfect. Service was overall good, seemed a little slow for their not being many people but overall staff was friendly.

Yelp
Decided to try this place because we were early to the Mariners game, and it did not disappoint! We were welcomed upon entry and wanted to try everything on the menu. All our food came out hot and ready. Highly recommend trying one of everything you will not be disappointed. Fun place to visit if you're in the area and the business has been featured on the Travel Channel and Shark Tank.

Yelp
Great burgers! Onion rings and fry's are a must too. Plus good beer on tap, great spot before a ball game.

Yelp
First time eating here. Food was delicious, a bit bummed out that the shake machine wasn't working, but will definitely come back again on another trip to Seattle.

Yelp
They tried charging me $3.79 for a cup of tap water, after I spent $50 on food and beer

Stephanie G.

Yelp
This place surprised me! Leaving the ballpark and decided to stop here to grab a meal to bring back to the hotel. The menu is giving heart attack with all the fried things and various sandwich creations, so I kept it simple with a cheeseburger and fries combo. It wasn't the fastest, but the wait wasn't ridiculously long either especially for their being several people in the restaurant. I scurried to the hotel and popped open my meal...that burger was delicious!!!! I got everything on it, which I'm so glad that I did! The burger sauce was so good. Now the fries may have looked plain, but they were perfectly cooked with a lot of flavor. I usually dip my fries in honey mustard, which I ordered as well, but these fries didn't need them! I loved this place so much I circled the block the next day. Solid casual dining option! Food rating Cheeseburger 9/10 Fries 9/10 Customer service 9/10 Ambiance 7/10

Yelp
Coming to Seattle, one place we were curious about checking out was Fat Shack as we don't have that back in California (as far as I'm aware). Apparently they had relocated their store, so we spent some time searching for where they had moved their place to. As we got there when it was pretty late, the inside was pretty empty and so it was quite spacious. It's clean and tidy inside, so they definitely do a good job of maintaining it. If you're looking for a good late night snack, this place is definitely it. We were curious about trying the deep-fried cheesecake bites, so we decided to get those and some mozzarella sticks. The bar isn't very high for mozzarella sticks to be honest, but this place probably had some of the best ones I've had so far. They were super crispy and cheesy, and the marinara sauce was great. The cheesecake bites were also delicious, and the chocolate sauce they provided made it much better. Overall, I think this place is worth checking out if you have the late night munchies! I don't think they'll disappoint.

Yelp
We were trying to order some Hawaiian BBQ one night, but they closed early since it was a weeknight. We ended up a burger since we couldn't get the Hawaiian, so we picked this place randomly since it was relatively close to us and had pretty good reviews. The double bacon cheeseburger with cherry peppers lettuce etc. and it did not disappoint!! The fries were also really good too. Ended up being like 60 something dollars to feed four of us (incl drinks). Highly recommend!

Yelp
New burger spot in the neighborhood so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. There is street parking and large pay to park lot right next to the building. The restaurant is new and clean. Large and has booths. We got a single cheeseburger, 6 piece golden bbq wings and cheese fries. The cheeseburger was good. It was juicy from the meat and the sauces and vegetables tasted fresh, very refreshing. 6 piece golden bbq wings came out hot. I was skeptical about getting the wings but really surprised by the quality and crunch. Glad I got it. AND THE CHEESE FRIES. Star of the show! Cheese fries are very simple and it's been hard to find one that was nostalgic, delicious and satisfying. We found one! There's prices on the menu in the restaurant for some items but not all. On their to go menus, there's no prices. Smart business wise, but as a customer, I'd prefer if the prices were on the menu. If we're ever in the area again, sure but I wouldn't make a trip for it. Perfect spot for locals in the neighborhood. Food is spot on and the cashier was patient and nice.
google avatar

Daniel Z.

Yelp
Can't lie it was a terrible experience. There was a hair in my food, the food came out cold, and the fries/buns were overcooked immensely. Still want me to write a review?

Isabella R.

Yelp
Gave me raw a$$ chicken tonight lowkey sad/mad asf now they don't wanna answer the phone smh I usually just get the Mac n cheese bites and jalapeño poppers those are good and I wanted to try the chicken tenders and got chicken little instead I swear I heard the chicken cluck at me
google avatar

Yelp
Seattle location had a steep stairway entrance into the underground lair like venue. Once inside, a large assortment of food and beverage choices. Great little micro bar and Plenty of seating, nice staff. Inspiration may find you while looking this place over.
google avatar

Susan K.

Yelp
Great service very friendly. The food was delicious. We had the Fat Cow and it was amazing. Cheeseburger was also very good . This was the perfect spot
google avatar

Yelp
While in Seattle we were just riding some scooters around. We were in town for the preseason game nfl. On our way to the stadium my son spotted fat shack. So on our way back we parked our scooters outside and decided to give it a try. We had the Philly cheese steak deep fried Oreos and cheese fries. Cost about $30 which is average. But man everything was delicious. The portion size are large so we actually had leftovers even though me and him split all of that. It started getting busy as we left. They have a section roped off for adults only a bar. It looked like they had a bunch of microbrews. Not much of a Beer Drinker but if you are this is the spot.
google avatar

Ryley M.

Yelp
Fat Shack is a great restaurant that always met my late night cravings. I often used mobile ordering with no issues. The food is delicious and I never had any complaints. The Fat Shack vibe and inside decor was easy to navigate, with a window to the kitchen to see the cooking in action! Would absolutely recommend!

Mateo S.

Yelp
Ordered the fat doobie but only came with fries and chicken, no mozzarella sticks. Also, is a sandwich which is not immediately obvious, but didn't include all listed ingredients. Disappointing as a result.

Mike B.

Yelp
In the early part of the Covid Pandemic I had an over night trip to Seattle. Stayed at the Pioneer Square Hotel. Found Fat Shack quickly and ordered a Burger and Fries. Simple order, as Bubba said, "Medium rare with an onion slice!" Great Service in a rough time would make me stop again!
google avatar

Lucy A.

Yelp
Food is gooood gooodd! The only issue is u can't online order unless it's Grubhub and u can not calll. That's soo annoying to me bc I hate waiting. And they really make u wait I only go when I'm in the mood to wait. 3.5 bc of that n their service can be a little wonky but I understand bc they usually get the "bar crowd" n that's a lot to handle
google avatar

Olivia J.

Yelp
It was a pretty excellent place. Good place to get food or drinks late at night. Cheese fries were excellent, much like the drinks you may fill your own fountain. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5
google avatar

Jon J.

Yelp
Place was pretty good. Nice late night spot to grab some grub or drink. Cheese fries were delicious, like they have a fill your own fountain drink.

nope j.

Yelp
Food took like 30 mins paid $50 just to get halfway home and see I got the wrong order (about $20 with of sides) and now it's closed so I'm out $30. Hate yall

Dave A.

Yelp
The employee wearing the Thrasher hat took my order, asked if I wanted it to dine in or to go. I said "for here", paid for and tipped on top of the order, sat down and waited for it to come out. Guy handed me a to-go bag like he was intentionally wanting me to leave already, so I told him "Hey, I ordered this for here, but it's cool..." Twenty seconds later, he ordered me to go and eat my food outside because I was being condescending... I've had friends of mine get denied because he was on a wheelchair but was about ready to pay for his order. They thought he was homeless and kicked him out. I'm a regular in Pioneer Square and I can let everyone know not to waste their time at Fat Shack.
google avatar

Yelp
The Maverick sandwich was A-OK. Fried chicken, fries, mac & cheese, drizzled with BBQ sauce loaded onto a sandwich, what could be better!? Fat Shack is where you should go for munchies and late night cravings. They put all your favorite appetizer items into a sandwich and I had a really hard time choosing when I saw the menu but I had seen photos of the new Fat Maverick and needed it! I had some time to wait before a Sounders game so I stayed. There are booths along the wall and bar seating so it seemed like a fun spot to hang out but it quickly got weird. A man at the bar rudely yelled at the employees for a bathroom code. He was crude and overly rude. Some police officers were inside during their break and they just giggled. These employees need a raise for what they deal with. A few minutes later more police officers came in to ask another man to leave. I ended up wrapping up my sandwich and heading out. I would definitely order to go next time!

Yelp
We came here a couple of times when we were in Seattle. Food was good, and portions were big. We had the milkshakes which were really good. Service was good, although the food takes a little bit of time because stuff is made to order. Totally worth it. We came in the middle of the week for lunch so it tended to be quiet. We would totally come back.

Yelp
Went to Fat Shack around midnight on Saturday, they are open until 3 I believe. I'll start off with the service. It was good and on par for a burger place. The ambience was chill probably because it was pretty empty. I'm sure it starts bumping after the peeps leave the surrounding clubs. The food was not that impressive, you have a plethora of fillings for your burger. Mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, jalapeño poppers, cheesesteak, bacon, Mac n cheese, French fries, onion rings, fried pickles and I'm sure I missed some. But you can have all that on a burger. It sounds good when you're reading the menu but it's different when you're eating it. This is a place you go to after getting wasted, it'll calm your hang over.
google avatar

Nicole Y.

Yelp
If you like carnival food, this is a slightly elevated version of that. Still trash in terms of health but def a guilty pleasure worth having on occasion. The burger is quite delicious! This is probably the main thing I eat here because it's really tasty!! I don't eat burgers very often but when I crave one this is actually where I usually think of satisfying that craving. Their chicken tenders are also pretty great--always tender and good quality chicken. The shakes are good but extremely sweet, and I highly recommend the cheesecake bites as well. I tried the fried Oreos once and they were meh, so I'd def go with the cheesecake. Def a place worth trying and they're open late so it's probably greatly satisfy as a drunk meal, as well.
google avatar

Ryan F.

Yelp
So let me say if you want a Philly around lunch time in Seattle skip this place. The Philly is bland as hell and I even ordered extra meat and cheese and it had very little cheese on it. I guess the hype is that that they make other of the wall sandwiches with chicken finger and French fires on it but with a Philly this bald you have to do something to make up for the lack of flavor. There is a way better Philly place right down the street go there if you want a Philly you will get a way better deal and better products. This place let me down I guess if I was drunk it would be good but I think everything is good when I'm drunk. Like I said if you want a Philly just go to TATs down the street
google avatar

Yelp
The best burger I've had in a really long time!! Kieth is the kindest person and very hard working. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Good Workers They were very attentive The food was very good too A little too much. Not something I'd eat more than once a month. Byt definitely good every now and a gain. I got the Fat Shack & my daughter got the Maverick both of them were had excellent flavor and even better when dipped in ranch

Yelp
First time at Fat Shack! Super excited because everything coming out of the kitchen looks and smells amazing! The person that took my order was so friendly! So many great options that it was hard to decide so I ordered the double burger, fries, and onion rings. Wait! hold the phone! 1/2 off wings on Sunday? Yes please!!
google avatar

Taylor V.

Yelp
I'm an In N Out person so take that as you will, but I must say, this beats In N Out!! The bun isn't soggy or oily, the meat was flavorful and juicy, bacon was tasty, overall just a solid burger. It comes at a decent price too. I'll be back for sure!!
google avatar

Sandra C.

Yelp
Ordered right after a game! We ordered online for pick up. I really thought it was going to be a long wait however our order was made quick. We got it within 15 mins. Now... i won't lie. I wasn't expecting it to be good.. BUT it was truly soooooo delish! I got a cheeseburger with jalapeño and grilled onions! And fries! And even the fries were great! When we picked up the workers were pretty nice. I do recommend this place after a night out and looking for something to eat!

Jay B.

Yelp
Wonderful service. The owner or manager truly takes time to make sure everything is perfect. My boyfriend wasn't having a great day and ran into an issue in the store, the owner personally fixed it and made sure everything was spot on. Thank you guys for everything.

Yelp
Oh man! My man Keith, coming up from Los Angeles and I was amazed! The wings were the best I have tasted up to now. The service was great even with one cook Keith was holding it down! Five stars all around.
